Russian leader spoke about issues like the Ukraine conflict, international relations, and the nation's socio-economic development

Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed the Federal Assembly, the country's national legislature, detailing plans for the future development of the nation as well as its strategic goals. His speech, which set a duration record, comes just two weeks ahead of the country's presidential election, in which Putin is seeking another term.

In his two-hour-and-six-minute address, he reflected on the international geopolitical agenda but spent most of his time focusing on domestic issues. He announced five new national projects, set a number of goals for 2030 and proposed several tax reforms, as well as other socio-economic initiatives.

Below are some of the highlights from his speech.

Comment: Regarding Russia and traditional values, here are a few more articles: Over the past week there have been a number of articles about the tension between Russia and the US and its European satellites. Recently Vladimir Putin gave an interview to Tucker Carlson:

City Mayor Alexandr Beglov has said there are no casualties.

A powerful blast rocked the Russian city of St. Petersburg early on Saturday when a drone crashed into an apartment block, local media have reported. City authorities have confirmed "an incident" took place and that an evacuation was underway.

According to local outlet Fontanka, the explosion occurred in the northern part of the city, and the facade of a residential block was "seriously damaged."

St. Petersburg Mayor Alexandr Beglov declined to say whether it was a drone strike.
"There have been no casualties. The balcony windows of two buildings were partially damaged. Residents of the affected apartments have been evacuated," he wrote on Telegram, adding that police and emergency services were working at the scene.

Israel accuses Moscow of siding with 'forces of destabilization'

The country's envoy to the UN has attacked Russia over the Ukraine conflict and its diplomatic contacts with Hamas.

Russia has sided with enemies of the "free world" that seek global instability and have weaponized the UN against Israel, the Jewish state's permanent representative to the organization has claimed. Moscow has dismissed Gilad Erdan's accusations as "delirium."

The senior diplomat levelled multiple accusations at Moscow in a speech to the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday, the two-year anniversary of open Russian-Ukrainian hostilities. Erdan effectively equated Russia with Hamas, and criticized Moscow for having contacts with the Palestinian militant group.
Both of our countries - Ukraine and Israel - are fighting a battle for our survival. We are now living in an era during which forces of instability act with impunity, international law be damned, morality be damned, and peace and security be damned!" he proclaimed.

Comment: Every time Russia reveals the truth and supports a side of truth and against the injustice and atrocities against humanity, the PTB accuses Russia.

That is one of the reasons why Russia remains the primary obstacle to the global dark agenda of the PTB against humanity.

Cannibalism to save the world? New Scientist opens that door...

Cannibalism
© PRISMA ARCHIVO/Alamy
Next step: sustainable human steak?

They don't mention the "sustainable" word, but you know they want to. Right from the start they're selling it to us:
Ethically, cannibalism poses fewer issues than you might imagine. If a body can be bequeathed with consent to medical science, why can't it be left to feed the hungry?
Why can't we feed our bodies to the homeless indeed, apart from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, prions, parasites, heavy metals? And if cannibalism pops up on the menu often enough, who knows what other problem will pop up on the radar? Things at the top of the food chain (and we are at the top) tend to accumulate all kinds of unwanted chemicals, like lead, PCBs, and pollutants.

Not to mention the spiritual questions and the mental health issues. Who knows? Relatives might feel a bit miffed if Aunty Betty was carved up for canapes and offered up to the crowd at the local alcoholics shelter.

Welcome to dystopia. We can devalue human lives, but think of the cows we'll save!

Transnistria appeals to Russia for 'protection', reviving fears for Moldova breakaway region

The US has said it is closely watching the situation in the breakaway Moldovan region of Transnistria, after pro-Russian officials in the territory appealed to Moscow for "protection".

Transnistria, which borders war-stricken Ukraine to the east, has maintained autonomy from Moldova for three decades with support from Russia, which has more than a thousand troops stationed there since a brief war in 1992.

Since Moscow began its full-scale assault on Ukraine, Chișinău has been concerned the Kremlin could use Transnistria to open a new front in the south-west, in the direction of Odesa.

The request for Russia to help Transnistria's economy withstand Moldovan "pressure" was made after a meeting of hundreds of officials in the unrecognised region.

Comment: Transnistria saw the writing on the wall in 2014, appealing to rejoin Russia even then. And why is everyone so exercised about this tiny strip of land?
Dogs of war: Here's why the Ukraine conflict could be about to spread to another European country

During Soviet times, the strategic reserves of the Western Military District were stored here. However, most of the ammunition was brought to the warehouse after the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the countries of the former Warsaw Pact - such as East Germany, Czechoslovakia and Hungary.

The warehouse contains artillery shells and air bombs, mines of various calibers, grenades, and cartridges. Presumably almost half of this arsenal has already exhausted its shelf life. In addition, there is a large amount of old equipment in the Kolbasna warehouse including about 100 tanks, 200 armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, more than 30,000 military vehicles, about 200 anti-aircraft missile systems, Grad multiple launch rocket systems, and 30,000 machine guns. The ammunition stored in Kolbasna would be enough to equip a modern army group. However, it's likely that the peacekeepers have mined the facility. In such a case, there is a danger that any Ukrainian assault could trigger huge explosions, causing ecological damage.
Kiev has been itching to get its hands on this old Soviet arsenal since forever.

Best of the Web: Border Patrol Council: Trump supports agents' mission, Biden 'burned border to the ground'

The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) drew a stark contrast between how former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden treat border patrol agents, declaring Trump shows agents "respect" while "Biden falsely accuses them of crimes."

The union, which notes it represents some "18,000 Border Patrol Agents and support personnel assigned to the U.S. Border Patrol," took to X on Thursday to lay out the "difference" between Biden and Trump.

"President Trump treats BP agents with respect, supports their mission and listens to their ideas," a post from the union's official account reads. "Biden falsely accuses agents of crimes, burned the border to the ground and only listens to his radical leftist base. See the difference?"

Comment: Fox News reports that "Border patrol agents had to guide Biden around like a fragile animal"

What the mass media needs to cover re: Israel/Gaza conflict

Rnader
© Jacquelyn Martin/APRalph Nader
Last October 27, I suggested subjects the mainstream media needed to cover relating to the saturation bombing of Gaza and its defenseless civilian families and infrastructure. Looking at these topics now, four months later, despite massive reporting, the attention to these subjects is still thin and more deserving of reporting than ever.

1. How did Hamas, with tiny Gaza surrounded by a 17-year Israeli blockade, subjected to unparalleled electronic surveillance, with spies and informants, and augmented by an overwhelming air, sea and land military presence, manage to get the weapons and associated technology for their October 7th surprise raid? Readers still do not know how and from where these weapons entered Gaza year after year.

2. What is the connection between the stunning failure of the Israeli government to protect its people on the border and the policy of P.M. Netanyahu? Recall the New York Times (October 22, 2023) article by prominent journalist, Roger Cohen, to wit:
"All means were good to undo the notion of Palestinian statehood. In 2019, Mr. Netanyahu told a meeting of his center-right Likud party: 'Those who want to thwart the possibility of a Palestinian state should support the strengthening of Hamas and the transfer of money to Hamas. This is part of our strategy.'"
(Note: Israel and the U.S. fostered the rise of Islamic Hamas in 1987 to counter the secular Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)). Readers still need more information about the context of Netanyahu's declared support for Hamas over the years and his connection to the buildup of Hamas funding and weaponry.

Comment: Compiled, the questions provide one rather solid conclusion. Israel set up Hamas from the beginning to patsy the October attack and all that has since come to pass. Hamas has proven to be formidable 'beyond' the script.
We need more Ralph Naders.

Court says Democrats who broke quorum rules unconstitutionally spent $1.7 trillion

pelosi

This ruling exposes the disregard the Democrat-controlled Congress and executive branch hold for our Constitution.

Congress lacked the constitutionally required quorum to pass the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, a federal court ruled Tuesday. Accordingly, the Biden administration cannot enforce the new mandates imposed on Texas by the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which was part of the omnibus spending bill. However, Tuesday's ruling left untouched the $1.7 trillion in appropriations, and with most of the money already spent, there is no real remedy for the Democrat-controlled Congress and White House's blatant disregard for the Constitution.

Last month, federal Judge James Hendrix held a bench trial in State of Texas v. Dept. of Justice, a lawsuit brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton against the Biden administration. In that lawsuit, Paxton challenged the constitutionality of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 based on the "quorum clause" of the U.S. Constitution, which is found in Article I and says:
Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members, and a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do Business; but a smaller Number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may provide.
Texas' lawsuit argued that when the House voted on the final version of the omnibus spending bill on Dec. 23, 2022, it lacked a quorum to conduct business because only 201 of the members were physically present that day, which was less than a majority of the total number of voting House members, 435.

The House, under the control of Democrats and then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, opted, however, to apply a proxy-voting rule that allowed absent representatives to have other members of the House cast votes on their behalf. The result? The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 passed with a tally of 225 yeas, 201 nays, and 1 present. President Joe Biden then signed the bill on Dec. 29, 2022, purporting to make it law.

Comment: Biden administration has a first rate mastery in blurring the lines: de facto versus de jure.

Supreme Court to hear Trump DC case immunity defense on schedule making trial before election unlikely

Trump
© legalinsurrection.comUS President Donald Trump delivering Jan 6 rally speech
SCOTUS to hear case on the merits "limited to the following question: Whether and if so to what extent does a former President enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office?"

The DC federal court case against Donald Trump involves his alleged violation of law in trying to overturn the 2020 election. As I wrote from the moment of the case, and many times thereafter, the case is fundamentally misunderstood and mistaken: Trump is not charged with insurrection or even causing the J6 riot; and the central theory of the case, that seeking to overturn an election in itself is illegal is not true, and therefore Trump is being charged with conspiracy to do something that is not illegal, Trump DC Indictment - Where is the crime?

Best of the Web: CIA has 'many bases' in Ukraine - FSB boss

Bortnikov
© Gavriil Grigorov/SputnikRussian Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Aleksandr Bortnikov
The American espionage network is even larger than what the US press describes, Moscow believes...

The CIA has "many" bases in Ukraine, the head of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Aleksandr Bortnikov told Russian television on Thursday, when asked about a New York Times report on the spy network.

The US newspaper described a decade-long record of cooperation between the American spy agency and Ukrainian special services.

According to the article, which was published last Sunday, the CIA has 12 secret bases on Ukrainian soil which are actively working against Russia. The paper wrote that over the past eight years, the CIA has trained and equipped Kiev's intelligence officers in underground bunkers, some of which are nestled deep in the forests of Ukraine.

Bortnikov told Channel 1:
"They [US intelligence] had entered there a long time ago and are using this resource to do the dirty work, on their own and with the hands of the Ukrainian special services."
He said "work is ongoing," when asked whether Russia can get to the CIA sites.

Comment: That New York Times piece was propaganda - based on some actual reporting - to help promote the passage of the $100 billion foreign aid bill, of which $60 billion is earmarked 'for Ukraine'.
