Tehran's plan, should US withdraw from nuclear deal, is one Washington 'will regret'

Ali Larijani

Tehran has a detailed plan of action in case Washington backs out of the nuclear deal, Iranian Parliament speaker Ali Larijani said, adding that the US "will regret" the decision.

"We have a plan... We've recently approved in parliament what we should do given the Americans undertake certain steps," Larijani told reporters Monday on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting in St. Petersburg. "We will take steps so that the Americans will regret it."

Iran considers a number of different scenarios, Larjani added, without providing further details.

US President Donald Trump has decided not to certify the nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The deal was originally signed in 2015 by the 'P5+1' group of the UN Security Council (China, France, Germany, Russia, the UK, and the US) and the European Union.

Trump, however, stopped short of breaking the US part of the deal altogether, and instead expressed a need to fix what he described as flaws in the agreement. "We'll see what happens over the next short period of time and I can [cancel the deal] instantaneously," Trump told reporters, when asked why he chose not to withdraw from the deal immediately.

Comment: So, Trump has reserved a bit of wiggle room...is this to placate, to goad, to force adjustments? It's Trump. Who knows.

Putin signs restrictions decree on N. Korea as Pyongyang delegation arrives in St. Petersburg

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree imposing restrictions on North Korea in order to comply with a UN Security Council resolution.

The decree specifically refers to the UN Security Council resolution on restrictions imposed against North Korea in November 2016. The document, spanning almost 40 pages, specifies certain punitive measures that were introduced in 2007. It also refers to 11 North Korean individuals, who have been linked with the country's nuclear program.

The move comes as a North Korean delegation arrived in St. Petersburg for the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly.

On Monday, the EU also adopted a new range of sanctions against Pyongyang, which are designed to punish the North for its "continued and accelerated nuclear- and ballistic-missile programs."

The decision taken on Monday made changes to penalties that were introduced earlier in response to the North Korean ballistic launches. These prohibited the import, sale or transfer of petroleum by the state, as well as transactions involving crude oil to Pyongyang. The fresh range of restrictions also extends to the transfer of funds.

The Soros Open Society group funds study of white working-class voters to try and figure out Killary's election disaster

George Soros
A recently-released research study sheds light on the values of white working-class voters in the United States and the reasons these voters strongly supported Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Three researchers from three different universities authored the study, titled "White Working-Class Views on Belonging, Change, Identity and Immigration."

Open Society Foundations, a network of political organizations controlled by left-wing billionaire George Soros, funded the study.

The trio of researchers conducted the study by visiting a handful of places between August 2016 and March 2017: Birmingham, Alabama; Dayton, Ohio; Tacoma, Washington; Phoenix, Arizona; and - for some reason - the New York City borough of Brooklyn.

The researchers spoke candidly with over 400 people who identify as members of the white working class.

Here is what they found:

Being friends with Russia can be deadly: The CIA plan to assassinate Greek PM Karamanlis

Greece Karamanlis
Former Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis
"However, the intruders didn't quite make it to murdering the PM. They did, however, keep a close eye on him."

"In that very secret document an episode is described, when Russian spies met with the conspirators face-to-face."

Last Monday the main Russian TV news channel, Vesti, ran a sensational investigative piece on the main evening news alleging that back in 2009 Russian Intelligence uncovered a plot by the CIA to remove then prime minister Kostas Karmamanlis from office, and assassinate him if necessary, for his support of Russia, in particular the South Stream gas pipeline to Europe.

Part of the plot involved orchestrating street violence by infiltrating political parties - color revolution tactics.

The story could be straight out of an episode from Homeland - here is the full transcript to the segment. The video is captioned in English:

Conniving Deep State starts campaign to associate Harvey Weinstein's sexual crimes to Trump

Weinstein Trump
Never letting a good scandal go to waste, the Deep State is using the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal to push for a Trump impeachment.

After Hillary Clinton blew her dog whistle last week trying to connect Trump to Weinstein's decades of sexual abuse (forgetting her hubby Bill's very own rapist past), the Deep State has sprung into action to begin the campaign to lump POTUS Trump into the "sexual predator" bucket with Weinstein, Bill Clinton and all of hollywood.

The one difference is while liberal elites get a free pass for their sexual abuse (because while their actions were disgusting, their heart was in the right place), conservatives receive no such courtesy.

Russian cabinet member says Russia to launch state-controlled "Crypto-Ruble"

Nikolay Nikiforov
Nikolay Nikiforov
Russian media are reporting that Minister of Communications Nikolay Nikiforov is saying that Russia will issue its own blockchain currency, dubbed the 'CryptoRuble'.

Nikiferov is Minister of Communications, a powerful post in the Russian Federation, and is in charge of government policy on all things related to the internet.

He was the youngest man ever to become a minister in Russia (the equivalent of a cabinet member), at the age of 29 in 2012. He is now 35. His whole career has been in the internet sector.

Russia is the unchallenged champion in producing the world's best programmers, many of whom work in Silicon Valley, and due to this natural advantage it has a head start on blockchain technologies, which it is embracing at a far faster pace than other governments, seeing them as a way to break away from dependence on the US dollar.

This interest in crypto-currencies is in part blowback from US and EU sanctions, which have had the opposite effect than what the US and EU intended.

Mueller lawyers ask judge to block release of Comey memos on Trump conversations

Government lawyers want a federal judge to block the release of memos written by former FBI Director James Comey about his conversations with President Trump, claiming that disclosing the documents would be "detrimental" to an investigation into Russian interference in the presidential campaign as well as an ongoing obstruction of justice probe.

The attorneys made the argument in a court filing submitted late Friday in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed for the Comey memos by several news organizations, including The Daily Caller News Foundation, CNN, and USA Today.

The lawsuit sought the release of all of the memos that Comey wrote following his encounters with President Trump. Comey, who was fired by Trump on May 9, has testified that he wrote the memos following in-person meetings and phone conversations with Trump.

US President Donald Trump said that a total termination of the Iran nuclear deal is a very real possibility. Meanwhile, Tehran has said it detailed a plan of action in case Washington backs out of the deal.

"We'll see what phase two is," Trump said on Monday in a cabinet meeting while talking about the Iran nuclear agreement. "It might be a total termination. That's a very real possibility."

"I'm tired of being taken advantage of as a nation," Trump said, calling Iranian leaders "great negotiators" who "negotiated a great deal for themselves, but a horrible deal for the US."
