'Decertifying' Iran despite its compliance with JCPOA is further example of a US foreign policy which is becoming ever more erratic and which has lost touch with reality

The above quote - often misattributed to Euripides - came to me irresistibly as I listened to Donald Trump's speech on Iran, the complete text of which can be found here.

Suffice to say that in many years of following US Presidential addresses (some of them very weird) I have never heard or read any other speech from a US President on an important foreign policy issue which was so completely detached from reality or so frankly bizarre (the only one which comes close is George W. Bush's address given on the eve of his invasion of Iraq).

We had never actually heard of Mr. Boot until this summer when he appeared on Tucker Carlson, and had the most extraordinary meltdown on that show, with both him and Carlson hurling insults at each other, and Carlson eventually getting the better of him, as Mr. Boot gradually lost his composure.

Mr. Boot is a terrifying example of what passes for a foreign policy expert in the US. He has a full-time job at the Council on Foreign Relations to push psychopathic neocon ideas. It is a sad commentary on our times that men like this have any influence at all in the US.

After free passage negotiations with the U.S. and its Kurdish proxy forces, ISIS is moving its fighters out of Raqqa city. When the Syrian government reached similar agreements the U.S. childishly criticized it. The U.S. coalition claims that it was "not involved in the discussions" that led to the Raqqa free passage agreement. A BBC News report shows that the opposite is true.

Over the last two years the U.S. and its Kurdish proxy force in Syria made several deals with the Islamic State. In 2016, for example, they negotiated a deal with Islamic State fighters to move from Manbij to the Turkish border to avoid further casualties in the fight about the city.

President Donald Trump met with top defense officials Tuesday morning - including Secretary of Defense James Mattis and the Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair General Joseph Dunford - in the White House Situation Room, to discuss potential options for responding to any North Korean "aggression" as well as how to prevent North Korea from threatening the United States with nuclear weapons.

The meeting, which was later confirmed by the State Department and a White House press release, came a day after Mattis instructed the U.S. Army to stand ready if North Korea diplomacy fails, and less than a week after Trump's cryptic "calm before the storm" comments about a previous meeting with top military commanders. Some have noted that the decision to have the meeting in the Situation Room, sometimes called the War Room, was significant, as it is often used to hold secure meetings regarding disasters, military conflicts, and other major crises both domestic and global.

Yet he and his organization, CANVAS, have played a lead role in most every CIA-backed Color Revolution since he led the toppling of Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic in 2000, at least fifty according to last count. The career of Srđa Popović from 2000 until today suggest a remarkably dishonest manipulator in the service of foreign intelligence agencies and governments, despite his vehement claims otherwise.

The October 4 killings of four US Green Berets in Niger has provided a rare glimpse into the far-reaching American military operations throughout the African continent which have been conducted almost entirely in secret.
Pentagon officials on Friday told reporters that the ambush was carried out by a self-radicalized group supposedly affiliated with ISIS. The Pentagon additionally admitted that at least 29 patrols similar to the one that was fatally ambushed have been carried out by American soldiers in Niger.

According to AFRICOM, the US military command based in Stuttgart, Germany, the US special forces deployed to Niger are tasked with providing training, logistics, and intelligence to assist the Nigerien military in fighting militants affiliated with Al-Qaeda in Mali and Boko Haram in neighboring Nigeria. AFRICOM has officially stated that its forces interact with the Nigerien army in a "non-combat advisory" capacity.

With the memory of the saber-rattling prelude to the U.S.' 2003 invasion of Iraq largely faded, many of that war's biggest proponents have recently found themselves uniting behind a new cause - the dissolution of the Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). In recent weeks, their calls for destroying the deal have grown - especially as President Donald Trump, who has long criticized the deal, seems determined to make a decision on deal's ultimate fate within the coming month. While the dissolution of an international agreement may hardly seem as imminently dangerous as the invasion - and destruction - of another country, the end-game for those seeking to annul the agreement is ultimately the same.

Take, for instance, the recent rhetoric of John Bolton, former Bush-era State Department official and ambassador to the United Nations. Bolton, now a fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, recently argued in the Wall Street Journal that JCPOA was not worth saving, stating that Iran's compliance and certification are not the issue. The issue instead, he states, is "whether we will protect U.S. interests and shatter the illusion that Mr. Obama's deal is achieving its stated goals, or instead timidly hope for the best while trading with the enemy, as the Europeans are doing."

Comment: Hindered by a myopic vision with hands tied by Israel, Trump has aligned with Iraq-fiasco neocons, resigning himself to a historical repeat. For Israel, the US is its 'personal Goliath' programmed to address at any perceived adversary to its multi-century plan of global domination by self-decree. For the US, it could very well be its 'swan song.'

Yesterday we identified a permanent fiscal crisis as one of the quadruple witching forces arising in October 2017 which will shatter the global financial bubble. Today the Donald is on the cusp of making the crisis dramatically worse by decertifying the Iranian nuke deal, thereby reinforcing another false narrative that enables the $1 trillion Warfare State to continue bleeding the nation's fiscal solvency.

In a word, the whole notion that Iran is a national security threat and state sponsor of terrorism is just as bogus as the Russian meddling story or the claim that the chain of events resulting from the coup d'etat fostered by Washington on the streets of Kiev in February 2014 is evidence of Russian expansionism and aggression. Likewise, it's part of the same tissue of lies which led to Washington's massive, destructive and counterproductive interventions in Syria and Libya - when neither regime posed an iota of threat to the safety and security of the American homeland.

To the contrary, all of these false narratives are the cover stories which justify the Warfare State's massive draw on the nation's broken finances. We will get to the Big Lie about Iran momentarily, but first it is useful to demonstrate just how enormously excessive the nation's defense budget actually is, and why the denizens of the Imperial City---especially the neocon ideologues----find it necessary to peddle such threadbare untruths.

Comment: Thank you Military Industrial Complex. Each step in the escalation of selling arms to keep the economy afloat, while ignoring other productive means and methods of diversification, creates the potential for a one-time shut down of massive proportion triggering extreme consequences. As was noted, the political trajectory, without deviation, has to set the stage in order for this military Ponzi scheme to work. Let's not forget Israel's 'hand within the glove' agenda as well.

FBI: 30 pages of Clinton-Lynch tarmac meeting docs located, given six weeks to produce them

Judicial Watch was informed yesterday by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) that the FBI has located 30 pages of documents related to the June 27, 2016, tarmac meeting between former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton, and proposes non-exempt material be produced no later than November 30, 2017 (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:16-cv-02046)).

The new documents are being sent to Judicial Watch in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed after the Justice Department failed to comply with a July 7, 2016, FOIA request seeking the following:
  • All FD-302 forms prepared pursuant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private e-mail server during her tenure.
  • All records of communications between any agent, employee, or representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding, concerning, or related to the aforementioned investigation. This request includes, but is not limited to, any related communications with any official, employee, or representative of the Department of Justice, the Executive Office of the President, the Democratic National Committee, and/or the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.
  • All records related to the meeting between Attorney General Lynch and former President Bill Clinton on June 27, 2016.

Comment: So will there be actual words on these pages or will the magic redaction process negate all incriminating information?

According to ZeroHedge:
Back on June 29, 2016, Obama's Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, tried to convince us that the following 'impromptu' meeting between herself and Bill Clinton at the Phoenix airport, a private meeting which lasted 30 minutes on Lynch's private plane, was mostly a "social meeting" in which Bill talked about his grandchildren and golf game. It was not, under any circumstances, related to the statement that former FBI Director James Comey made just 6 days later clearing Hillary Clinton of any alleged crimes related to his agency's investigation.


Not surprisingly, following the above media clip several concerned watchdog groups filed FOIA requests seeking any and all DOJ and/or FBI documents related to what was either (i) a really poorly timed meeting, in the best case, or (ii) a clear attempt by a former President of the United States to apply leverage over the current Attorney General to obstruct justice and get his wife elected President, in the worst case.

Now, after originally being told by the FBI there were no documents to produce in response to their July 2016 FOIA request, Judicial Watch is now reported that nearly a year and a half later they've suddenly found some documents that may be relevant. Meanwhile, as if that isn't bad enough, the FBI apparently needs 6 weeks to produce a measly 30 pages worth of records. Here's more from Judicial Watch:

Can you imagine the outrage in Congress and at CNN if similar records were suddenly 'found' at the FBI that proved Trump colluded with Putin to throw the 2016 election?

Dear FBI, here's an alternative to waiting around 6 weeks to produce 30 pages that will undoubtedly have all relevant information redacted...why not just do us all a favor, dispel with the notion that their is any transparency in Washington D.C., fully redact all 30 pages and hand them over to Judicial Watch now so that we can all be appalled for moment and move on with our lives?

Why is this significant?

The revelation is significant because it shows the government was potentially attempting to hide something that the public has the right to know. But it's also significant because the infamous tarmac meeting came just days before the Justice Department announced it would not pursue criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her private emails scandal.
