Brennan fires warning to Ryan and McConnell as Trump orders DOJ to investigate FBI campaign infiltration

Former CIA Director-turned-Twitter troll, John Brennan lashed out at Trump on Sunday evening after the President ordered the DOJ to investigate the FBI's infiltration of his campaign.

Brennan also fired a warning shot to House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, claiming they will 'bear the majority of the responsibility of the harm done to our democracy' if they don't stop Trump.

As previously reported by TGP's Kristinn Taylor, President Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon he is ordering the Justice Department to investigate whether the Obama administration spied on his 2016 presidential campaign.

The order comes on the heels of leaks to the New York Times and Washington Post that the Obama administration had an "informant" make several approaches to three Trump campaign officials, included one that involved an offer of cash and another an offer to "advise" the campaign.

Comment: That Lucas and Rich were friends is an extremely important and noteworthy detail, and may provide some connection between their deaths which has not previously been considered. If true it is an extremely new detail in the context of their deaths and the political furor surrounding both men.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recalled the country's ambassadors to the US and Israel, accusing them of "state terror" and "genocide," referring to the situation in the Gaza Strip.

"We will evaluate our relations, especially economic and trade relations [with Israel] again. We will take steps in this direction after the elections [on June 24]," Erdogan told journalists on the presidential plane while returning from a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Haaretz, Turkey will be the first hit by the sanctions, as its economy is having a tough time and the punitive measures could expand Turkey's trade deficit by nearly $2 billion.

Turkey-Israel Trade Relations

The countries are rather close trade partners, as 2.1 percent of Turkey's exports go to Israel. Specifically, in 2016 this number stood at $2.96 billion (from a total export of $142.5 billion).

In the opposite direction, the country's imports from Israel are way less: in 2017, the gap was $1.9 billion.

Thus, the introduction of economic measures against Israel might lead to the expansion of Turkey's trade deficit by $1.9 billion.

An airstrike launched by the Israeli military has hit a boat that was moored in Gaza City. The vessel was preparing to meet other boats that were trying to sail through Israel's naval blockade of Gaza, locals say.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they hit "military targets belonging to the Hamas terror organization's naval force," as well as "underground terror infrastructure." On its official Twitter account, the IDF said it was done in response to a group of people breaking through the Israel-Gaza border and setting a military post on fire.

Gaza residents cited by Reuters said the boat that was set on fire by the Israeli attack was due to sail to meet a flotilla on its way to Gaza. A number of aid flotillas have attempted to breach the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza in recent years, but the vessels have been stopped, seized or turned back. In the most notorious case in 2010, Israeli commandos killed nine activists on board the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara.

What killed democracy was constant lying to the public, by politicians whose only way to win national public office is to represent the interests of the super-rich at the same time as the given politician publicly promises to represent the interests of the public - "and may the better liar win!" - it's a lying-contest. When democracy degenerates into that, it becomes dictatorship by the richest, the people who can fund the most lying. Such a government is an aristocracy, no democracy at all, because the aristocracy rule, the public don't. It's the type of government that the French Revolution was against and overthrew; and it's the type of government that the American Revolution was against and overthrew; but it has been restored in both countries.

On Monday, May 21st, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo laid out a dozen demands upon Iran's Government - demands which insult the sovereignty of Iran and dictate terms to its Government, as if the U.S. Government weren't the one that routinely invades and perpetrates coups overthrowing other governments, so that the peoples of the world say that the U.S. Government (not Iran) is overwhelmingly "the world's biggest threat to peace."

POMPEO SAID, ON MAY 21st:
We demand from Iran:

First, Iran must declare to the IAEA a full account of the prior military dimensions of its nuclear program, and permanently and verifiably abandon such work in perpetuity.

Iran's President Rohani seeks to end stadium ban for women at sports events

Iranian President Hassan Rohani has called for a decades-long stadium ban for women to be lifted, according to his office and media reports.

"There should be no difference between men and women in Islam, and for that reason women should also be allowed to take part in sports events," Rohani said at a meeting with Iranian athletes in his office on May 22, according to a statement released by his office.

Women have been banned from stadiums in Iran for 39 years in a policy imposed by Iran's Shi'ite cleric rulers after the 1979 revolution.

Rohani questioned why religious authorities have barred women from games, noting that Iranian women are active in sports and have achieved honors in sport competitions.

Comment: Iran's clerics moved Iran backward in trying to understandably resist the undue pressures of the United States. As Iran continues to grow in influence in the Middle East and on the world stage, its revision of a number of their more extreme religious policies is totally reasonable and needed.

Israel has commented on the Palestinian request to the International Criminal Court to investigate the violence on the Gaza border during the Great March of Return protests, saying that the country is exploiting the international body for political purposes.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki has arrived at the International Criminal Court to bring what Palestinians claim to be "sufficient compelling evidence of the ongoing commission of grave crimes to warrant an immediate investigation," calling for a swift investigation into the issue.

"On behalf of the Palestinian people the State of Palestine exercises its right as state party to the Rome Statute [of the ICC] to refer the situation of Palestine to the International Criminal Court for an immediate investigation as just concluded in meeting with Madame prosecutor," the minister said at a press conference at the ICC.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has asked the International Criminal Court to open a probe into Israeli violations against Palestinians, linked to illegal settlements, calling Tel Aviv's actions "crimes against humanity".

The settlements are "the single most dangerous threat to Palestinian lives, livelihoods, and national rights," the ministry said in a statement released on Facebook. Israel called the move "cynical" and claimed the request to the ICC has no legal validity.

Saying that while "Israel maintains, expands, and protects the settlement regime by committing war crimes, crimes against humanity," Palestinians are not seeking revenge but redress and "justice for the crime of apartheid against the Palestinian people."

Palestine exercised its right as a State Party to the Rome Statute - the treaty that established the ICC - to refer the situation in the region to the international tribunal. The ministry says that Palestinian people "continue to suffer from ongoing, widespread and systematic crimes" committed by Israel.

Palestine says that among the "grave crimes" committed against its people are forcible transfer, unlawful killing of peaceful protesters, and the demolition of Palestinian homes. The Israeli policy of mass arbitrary detention and torture also fall under the court's jurisdiction. "This step [Palestine's call to the ICC] is intended to ensure that those most responsible for these crimes are held accountable for their actions without further delay," the ministry stated. [...]

Comment: So there you have it. Israeli war criminals cannot be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court because they don't recognize either the Court or Palestine. Imagine a murderer claiming he cannot be taken to jail because he doesn't believe in the justice system nor does he consider his victim as human. Once again, Israel has spoken as a truly psychopathic entity.

By the way, it is not only the Palestinian Authority that has proposed an ICC investigation - and with good reason:

Trump instructs Kelly to get Russiagate docs released to Congress

President Trump left a Monday meeting with FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein with an agreement on future steps to facilitate the release of Russia-probe documents to Congress.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the men "agreed that White House Chief of Staff Kelly will immediately set up a meeting with the FBI, DOJ, and DNI together with Congressional Leaders to review highly classified and other information they have requested."

House Intelligence Committee Republicans led by chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., have sought unsuccessfully to see certain documents on the FBI's probe of possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia, including on its use of an informant.

In addition to plans for a Kelly-organized meeting, Trump left the meeting with reassurance that the Justice Department's inspector general would review whether there was politically motivated infiltration or surveillance of the Trump campaign.

Rosenstein asked the inspector general to review the matter Sunday afternoon, following a tweet from Trump that he would "officially" ask "that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes."

Since late March, thousands of Palestinians have taken to streets in the so-called Great March of Return, protesting along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel. The clashes with border security have already left over 60 dead and scores injured.


Comment: They're not "clashes".


The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has lambasted Iran on its official Twitter account saying it is essentially behind Hamas and is to blame for the atrocities in the region:

"The mask has been pulled off: Hamas is Iran, Iran is Hamas. The terror along the security fence is an Iranian mission," IDF's tweet reads.

Comment: The IDF once again proves it is a supreme master of logic. Hamas is Iran, Iran is Hamas. Gaza is Hamas, Hamas is Gaza. Gazans live in Gaza, Gazans are Iran. Foreign medical personnel and journalists are in Gaza. Therefore unarmed Palestinian children and foreign medics and journalists are Iran. Palestinian babies are Hamas, thus Iran. Therefore Israel is free to kill whomever it pleases, because they are in Gaza, because they are Iran.

Someone, please, the IDF needs your help immediately. They need immediate medical and psychological attention.
