A UPS spokesperson confirmed that company employees found and identified Carlson's missing parcel by midday on Thursday, less than 24 hours after Carlson said it was missing on Fox News, according to reports from multiple news outlets.Leftwing twitter got going with mockery and advice:
"After an extensive search, we have found the contents of the package and are arranging for its return," the spokesperson reportedly said. "UPS will always focus first on our customers and will never stop working to solve issues and make things right."
During a segment that aired Wednesday as part of his Fox News program, Tucker Carlson Tonight, Carlson said a source sent confidential documents concerning Biden's family to the network at the beginning of the week.
"We believe those documents are authentic, are real and damning," he told viewers, intimating later that the documents pertained to the presidential nominee's son Hunter Biden and his business dealings in China and the Ukraine.
On Wednesday, Carlson recounted Fox producers' efforts to dispatch the Biden documents via a cross-country shipment to California. He did not name the shipping company explicitly during the segment but said that "the Biden documents never arrived in Los Angeles" as planned. He said subsequent correspondence with the mail carrier confirmed the package was stalled at a sorting facility without the documents inside.
"Tuesday morning we received word from the shipping company that our package had been opened and the contents were missing," Carlson said, adding, "Those documents have vanished."
He continued, "As of tonight, the company has no idea and no working theory about what happened to this trove of materials, documents that are directly relevant to the presidential campaign just six days out."
Carlson's remarks about the alleged Biden documents and missing package drew widespread scrutiny, as many wondered why a news organization would risk sending classified documents through the mail before photocopying the pages for safekeeping. Others asked why Fox News would decide to mail the documents when they could have been scanned and sent digitally.
Newsweek reached out to UPS and Fox News for further comment but did not receive replies in time for publication.
On his show Thursday night, the Fox News host updated viewers on the saga, a day after revealing that the purportedly damaging documents had been lost on Monday while being shipped from New York to Los Angeles.
Carlson revealed that the documents 'pertaining to the Biden family' were not received from Hunter's ex-business partner Tony Bobulinski, whom he interviewed in LA on Monday. He also said that his producers had made a copy of the files before attempting to ship them.
Though UPS found the lost flash drive, Carlson expressed outrage over the lack of information about how it was lost, saying that two people verified it had been sealed inside a shipping envelope before being dropped off for shipping.
'Unfortunately we still don't know what happened,' Carlson said. 'UPS is a reliable company, they rarely lose anything,' he added. 'And yet they lost our Biden documents. How? UPS won't tell us how.'
Carlson said UPS executives told him on Thursday that an employee at the Manhattan store on 43rd Street had found the flash drive on the floor, and had dropped it on a supervisor's desk.
The executives said the flash drive remained on the desk until Carlson took his complaint public on Wednesday, suggesting that the documents may have been intentionally intercepted.
However, Carlson said that the shipping company refused to offer further details, telling him in a statement: 'There are no more details. Security is returning it. Apologies again that we were unable to deliver it next day at the service level you requested.'
Carlson said it was 'unlikely' that the package was torn open by a machine, something that UPS says almost never happens.
'How did our flash drive get separated from the package it was sealed in?' he demanded to know.
'We are left with the obvious explanation: someone, for some reason, opened our package and removed a flash drive containing documents that were damaging to the Biden family.'
As a side note, Carlson added that he would only report on documents that shed light on the Biden family's business dealings, and Joe Biden's potential role in them, saying he was not interested in airing sordid personal matters.

Wolf accused the platform of lying about events surrounding Morgan's lock-out, noting that a Twitter spokesperson gave a misleading quote to the media about how the company revived the account.The Fox Business video is well worth a viewing...Mark Morgan is explicitly clear on the reasons and benefits provided by Trump's wall project as well as the despicable micromanaged removal of the DHS tweet.
"Adding insult to injury - and insult to Americans' intelligence - Twitter spread disinformation by misrepresenting Twitter's intentional censorship," Wolf went on, adding that a company representative told Politico's Caitlin Oprysko that it reversed the decision on appeal. Wolf said that gave "the false impression that Twitter's appeal process remedied a mistake, but in fact Twitter's appeal process failed."
After being locked out of his handle for some 20 hours, Morgan has since issued a statement about the incident, saying Twitter is "out of control in their clear bias against this administration" and slamming the company for "censorship" that should "outrage every American."

In an astonishing lapse, Hunter Biden chose to protect his MacBook Pro computer - crammed with what an IT expert last night described as a 'national security nightmare' and 'classic blackmail material' - with a single, simple password: Hunter02.
Remarkably, the 50-year-old businessman and self-confessed drug addict took the machine to a back-street IT store in Delaware in April 2019 to get it repaired - yet never returned to collect it.
Its existence was revealed by the New York Post last month, but the staggering scale and sensitivity of its contents - easily accessible to a hacker with a modicum of skill - is only revealed for the first time today.
The material, none of which was encrypted or protected by anything as basic as two-factor authentication, includes:While Hunter has been accused of using his family name to help with deals with Ukrainian and Chinese firms, there is nothing on the laptop to implicate Joe Biden in any wrongdoing.
- Joe Biden's personal mobile number and three private email addresses as well as the names of his Secret Service agents;
- Mobile numbers for former President Bill Clinton, his wife Hillary and almost every member of former President Barack Obama's cabinet;
- A contact database of 1,500 people including actress Gwyneth Paltrow, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, former Presidential candidate John Kerry and ex-FBI boss Louis Freeh;
- Personal documents including Hunter's passport, driver's licence, social security card, credit cards and bank statements;
- Details of Hunter's drug and sex problems, including $21,000 spent on one 'live cam' porn website and 'selfies' of him engaging in sex acts and smoking crack cocaine;
One email relating to a failed Chinese deal refers to a payment of ten per cent to 'the Big Guy', which some have suggested is the presidential hopeful.
However, Mr Biden has insisted: 'I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life.'An IT expert last night described as a 'national security nightmare' and 'classic blackmail material' the revelation that Hunter Biden protected his laptop - which was filled with with a treasure trove of top-secret material - with a single, simple password: Hunter02.Personal documents including Hunter's passport, driver's licence, social security card, credit cards and bank statements; were also contained on the laptop - raising fears about blackmail threats
A contact database of 1,500 people included the numbers of Bill and Hillary Clinton, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, her ex-husband Coldplay singer Chris Martin, former Presidential candidate John Kerry and ex-FBI boss Louis Freeh.
After his brother's death, Hunter - while still married, but separated from his first wife Kathleen - had an affair with Beau's widow, Hallie.
The laptop contains scores of text messages between them as well as emails between Hunter and Kathleen as their relationship imploded and a bitter divorce battle began.
In one angry note to Kathleen, Hunter says: 'Have I ever missed a tuition payment or mortgage payment, a play or a game or anything that ever mattered... Do you know what I've done to make that possible.
'Do you have any idea of the level of degradation?'
Hunter has long been considered the black sheep of the Biden family with his alcohol, drug and sex problems making headlines in America - although his father has loyally stood by him.
After Hunter publicly acknowledged his battle with alcohol and drugs in April 2019 - the same month in which he visited the Mac Store - Mr Biden said: 'Beau was my soul. Hunter is my heart.'
Even last week, the man strongly tipped to become America's 46th President described his son as 'the smartest guy I know'. It is doubtful whether his campaign managers or supporters share that view.

Comment: Apparently the FBI are investigating.
