Just-Released Docs Reveal NIH Deleted COVID Data For Wuhan Researcher

An eye-opening 238 pages of just-released documents from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) disclose that in June 2020 — at the request of researchers at China's Wuhan University — the NIH deleted information about COVID-19 genetic sequencing. The tranche of emails, obtained by the non-partisan group Empower Oversight following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, reveal the frenzy of activity at the NIH following the deletions and show that an expert advised then NIH Director Francis Collins and Dr. Anthony Fauci that the coronavirus driving the global pandemic originated outside of the Wuhan food market as asserted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Requested last summer, the documents obtained by Empower Oversight highlight the circumstances surrounding the significant deletions by the NIH and are in stark contrast to the agency's "best practices of scientific openness and collaboration."

Introduction to the Deleted NIH Coronavirus Sequences

The deletions from the NIH's Sequence Read Archive (SRA) were first underscored in a June 22, 2021, published preprint by Jesse Bloom, a virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Bloom had discovered that public access to the sequence had been removed. He contacted the NIH in June 2021 to discuss his findings, explaining in an email that the gene sequences may help understand how the pandemic began. As the NIH remained silent, Bloom's subsequent preprint that same month prompted several media reports and letters from U.S. Senators.

Saudi Arabia announces Yemen ceasefire, Houthi's offer permanent truce

Saudi Arabia has announced a halt to all military operations in Yemen, with the aim of reaching a permanent solution to the conflict in the neighboring country, the spokesman for the Riyadh-led coalition announced on Tuesday evening. Yemen's Houthi rebels had offered a three-day armistice earlier, which they said could be permanent if the Saudis agreed.

"The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition hereby announces cessation of military operations in Yemen beginning at (0600) Wednesday, March 30 2022," the coalition spokesman, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, announced just before midnight.

Comment: With endless support from the West, Saudi Arabia have spent 7 years and many billions in their attempts at overthrowing the government in Yemen, and yet all they've really achieved is creating what the UN called the world's worst humanitarian catastrophe.

The Saudi's agreeing to a ceasefire is a rather interesting turn of events, what with the world increasingly pivoting to Eurasia; because, unlike the pathocrats in the West, the leadership of Eurasia will not accept the Saudi's continuing their barbaric and wholly unjustified war on Yemen.

Note that this comes on the heels of a number of other events that signal a pivot in the Middle East is underway, including the UAE's public snubbing of Biden, their rejection of US requests to pump more oil, and their refusal to condemn Russia and instead calling out the West's hypocrisy. There's also the more practical matter that the Saudi's aren't winning, and although Yemen's retaliations are primitive by comparison they've been incredibly effective: Pepe Escobar: String of pearls: Yemen could be the Arab hub of the Maritime Silk Road

Best of the Web: Russia's security chief: Biolabs conducting 'inhuman experiments' in Ukraine make US 'worthy successor of Third Reich'

The evidence gathered by Russia regarding the activity of US biolabs in Ukraine will show the world that Washington has continued traditions of the Third Reich, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said on Monday as he met with director general of Algeria's external security and documentation directorate, Major General Noureddine Mokri.

Patrushev stressed:
"At present, we are finishing work to gather the evidential base regarding the military-biological activity of the US in Ukraine. I have no doubts that it will be formed, and the whole civilized world will eventually see that America has become a 'worthy' successor of traditions of the Third Reich, where unhuman experiments on people were practiced.

"The US and Ukraine remained the only countries in the world to vote against the UN General Assembly's resolution on combating glorification of Nazism and other similar initiatives. Besides, the development of the nationalist movement in Ukraine came also under the general coordination and support of the US."

Which European countries depend on Russian gas?

Russia will not be able to dissociate itself from US global unilateralism as long as it uses the US currency as a financial means for its business transactions. This dependence on the US dollar naturally puts Moscow at the mercy of the United States of America and its sanctions. The same applies to the European Euro, directly linked to European politics, which became a hostage to the US, as shown by the steps taken during the war in Ukraine. Indeed, most of President Joe Biden's decisions were followed by Europe despite its significant economic losses and US gains. This was evidenced by the West's freezing of about $300 billion of Russia's hard currency and gold deposited in Western banks.

For this reason, Russia began several years ago to adopt the local currency to exchange payment for parts of its energy and trade with China, Iran, India and Pakistan. However, President Vladimir Putin warned the 48 countries classified as "non-friends" that the daily Russian gas bill, estimated at hundreds of millions of euros, dollars and pounds sterling, must be paid in Russian roubles starting from Thursday, 31 March. The ultimatum issued by the Russian President is either to pay the price of oil, gas and coal in roubles or not to sell at all if Europe fails to abide by Russia's terms. This will inevitably lead to a global crisis or significantly boost the Russian currency, compensating for the effect of western sanctions on Moscow. The Russian decision has caused a storm of European statements from the leaders of these countries, which will face a dilemma from which they have no way out except to succumb or suffer the consequences of a sharp shortage of gas and oil.

Dozens of extremist fighters have made their way from Syria's northern Idlib governorate to Ukraine to fight against Russian troops, according to a report by Sputnik Arabic.

At least 87 former members of ISIS were allegedly transferred to the Syrian-Turkish border on 26 March under the direct supervision of the leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) armed group, Abu Mohammad al-Julani.

The report indicates that most of the fighters are Iraqi, Chechen, Tunisian, and French nationalities.

On 8 March, 450 HTS militants arrived in Ukraine to join the fight against the Russian army.

According to the family members of the militants, high-ranking HTS leaders have been coordinating with senior leaders of the Turkistan Islamic Party group, Ansar al-Tawhid, and Hurras al-Din groups, to facilitate the passage of the extremists from Idlib to Turkey and then on to Ukraine.

FEC fines DNC and Hillary Clinton for Trump dossier hoax

The Federal Election Commission has fined the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign for lying about the funding of the infamous, and discredited, Russian "dossier" used in a smear attempt against Donald Trump weeks before he shocked the world with his 2016 presidential victory.

The election agency said that Clinton and the DNC violated strict rules on describing expenditures of payments funneled to the opposition research firm Fusion GPS through their law firm.

A combined $1,024,407.97 was paid by the treasurers of the DNC and Clinton campaign to law firm Perkins Coie for Fusion GPS's information, and the party and campaign hid the reason, claiming it was for legal services, not opposition research.

Instead, the DNC's $849,407.97 and the Clinton campaign's $175,000 covered Fusion GPS's opposition research on the dossier, a basis for the so-called "Russia hoax" that dogged Trump's first term.

Russia's central bank resumed its gold purchases from local banks on Monday, but it set a fixed price on the precious metal.

Starting this week, the Russian central bank will pay a fixed price of 5,000 roubles ($52) per gram between March 28 and June 30, the bank said on Friday. This is below the current market value of around $68.

The central bank added that the resumption in buying will ensure supply and uninterrupted production of local gold.

Regime change has been the US goal in Russia for years

biden
It was the culminating event of a four-day trip planned at the last minute for the purpose of rallying Europe to the cause of standing up to Russia's military incursion into Ukraine. Speaking before a large and enthusiastic crowd in the Polish capital of Warsaw, US President Joe Biden concluded his remarks by going off-script. After condemning what he called his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin's "brutality" in Ukraine, Biden uttered nine words that, in a blink of an eye, made moot whatever else had been accomplished on this trip: "For God's sake, this man [Putin] cannot remain in power."

Biden departed the venue and headed straight for Air Force One, which was standing by to fly him back to the US. Before his plane could get off the ground, the White House was scrambling to contain the damage done by Biden's most recent gaffe. "The President's point," an unnamed White House official explained to the press, "was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region. He was not discussing Putin's power in Russia, or regime change."

When Biden arrived back in the US, he was asked if he was, in fact, calling for regime change in Moscow. Biden offered a terse one-word answer: "No."

But the off-the-cuff statement continued to haunt Biden, who was compelled to later offer a more detailed explanation for his outburst, telling the press "I was expressing the moral outrage I felt...[at] the actions of this man [i.e., Putin]," Biden said. "I wasn't then, nor am I now, articulating a policy change."

The media on the "warpath"

Swiss mass media: a transatlantic transmission belt?

Swiss Media
Screen Shot: swiss-media.ch
Even though today we are holding one's breath in suspense by military operations and the question of the aggressor seems to be determined, the responsibility of the media for the tensions towards Russia, which they have actively built-up in the past months and years, must be broached. They have hunted down politics and thus serve as a kind of transmission belt of transatlantic military strategies.

Although it is hardly possible today to reflect on the one-sidedness of media coverage against Russia before and during the military invasion, given the aggravated mood, this becomes all the more necessary. The sentiments towards Russia did not fall out of the sky. Its antecedents are documented.1 Here, the focus is on the past months. The more recent construction of a hostile image of Russia began with the so-called colour revolution in Kiev in 2004. Shortly before that, Russia and Vladimir Putin were "targeted". Ten years later, Western coverage intensified during the Maidan coup which was prepared by the US with 5 billion US dollars. How about Russian missiles in Canada?

Politically speaking, it was clear from the outset that Russia could not accept Ukraine's Western affiliation to NATO. For that would ultimately mean US nuclear missiles stationed directly in front of Moscow. Conversely, the madness becomes clear: the USA would never tolerate Russian missiles in Canada. But US policy sticks to its agenda against Russia.2 There are no compromises these days either.

NY Times' deceitful insinuations: "Frustrated" Putin could use nukes in Ukraine

Putin nuke bomb
The New York Times thinks that Putin might use a nuclear weapon in Ukraine, but there is a flaw in the Times' reasoning. Putin has nothing to gain from a nuclear blast and everything to lose. A nuclear weapon will not help Putin win the war in Ukraine, in fact, it would further deepen Russia's isolation, strengthen the position of Russia's enemies, and create a justification for NATO to enter the war. Putin would become a global pariah overnight inviting even harsher economic sanctions and criticism while greatly undermining his prospects for success in Ukraine. Detonating a nuclear device in Ukraine would undoubtedly prove to be the biggest mistake in Putin's 22 year-long political career.

Only Washington stands to gain from a nuclear explosion in Ukraine because only Washington would benefit from a wider war that involved NATO. But the Times never mentions Washington in its analysis because - according to the Times -the only person capable of such perfidy is Vladimir Putin which strongly suggests that the list of suspects was determined before the article was even written. But, why? Why is the Times' trying to incriminate Putin for an incident that has not yet taken place and for which other suspects have a clear motive? Is this a preemptive frame-up intended to shape public opinion on some future event? It sure looks like it. Here's an excerpt from the article:
