Delusional G-7 nations push for price cap on Russian oil by early December

Members of the Group of Seven leading industrial nations are seeking to put in place their proposed price cap on Russian oil exports by Dec. 5, a senior G-7 official said as leaders race to stabilize a volatile market and starve Russia of its main source of funding for the war in Ukraine.

The G-7 official told Reuters that the goal is to coincide the timing of the price cap with the European Union's sanctions package banning seaborne imports of Russian crude.

"The goal here is to align with the timing that the EU has already put in place," the official said. "We want to make sure that the price cap mechanism goes into effect at the same time."

Comment: So the G-7 thinks it can say "Lower your prices or we won't buy and/or we'll go somewhere else"? There is nowhere else that can provide the amount of energy Europe requires to continue functioning.

More than a dozen Democratic members of Congress who have urged President Joe Biden to forgive student loans reported up to around $1.5 million in educational debt, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of financial disclosures.

The 13 Democratic members, who are an average of 46 years old, reported the debts in 2021 and 2020. Individual debts range from as little as $15,000 to as much as $300,000.

The lawmakers have all supported at least some degree of federal student loan cancellation, a policy the Biden administration is reportedly considering. This includes New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who owes up to $50,000 worth and has repeatedly tweeted about the issue, and also Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who owes up to $100,000 and has called cancelling student debt "a racial justice issue."

Comment: There is some truth to the distress of students who took out loans, especially in the early days, when those peddling the boondoggle preyed on young naive borrowers seeking higher education. But there are always grifters in the cohort, especially the colleges who raised costs to capture the shower of "free" money.

New Chinese aid for Syria has Israel worried

A recent announcement of Chinese aid for Syria is setting off alarm bells in Israeli security circles.

During a July 20 ceremony held in Damascus, an announcement was made that Syria will receive advanced communications equipment from China. According to the official announcement, the aid "aims to improve local network infrastructure, especially in those areas hit hard during the Syrian crisis since 2011."

Signed by Chinese Ambassador to Syria Feng Biao and Chairman of Syria's Planning and International Cooperation Authority Fadi Salti Al-Khalil, the deal specifies that the equipment will be "delivered in two batches" to the Syrian Communications and Technology Ministry.

Relations between Israel and China are cordial, if somewhat strained in recent years by US pressure on Jerusalem to limit ties with Beijing. So on the face, having China in Syria is not in and of itself a major concern for Israel. But the economic or military improvements China could bring to Syria's military is a reason for concern.

Comment: If anything, this 'report' reveals that Israel feels very threatened by a sovereign Syria that is militarily capable of defending itself.

Ukrainian MPs approve 'special status' for Poles

The legislation will provide Polish nationals with the same rights as Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada) on Thursday adopted legislation allowing Poles to legally stay in the country for one and a half years without needing to obtain any special permits while enjoying similar rights as Ukrainians.

The bill on 'special guarantees' for Polish nationals was supported by 283 MPs, according to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. The law, once signed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, will provide Poles with the right to employment, economic activity, education, and medical care, as well as making them eligible for some social benefits.

Mayor Eric Adams declared the US has entered into a recession and "Wall Street is collapsing" - contradicting President Biden's claims that the nation is doing fine earlier Thursday.

I'm coming to you as a city and saying, 'This is how much we have, that's it,'" the Big Apple mayor said during an event in Staten Island at Sanzer Yeshiva hosted by nonprofit Project Hospitality, according to a report in Hamodia.

"We are in a financial crisis like you can never imagine," he added.

Comment: He must have missed the memo not to use the dreaded r-word!

The FBI is instructing its agents to reclassify cases as 'domestic violent extremism', Republican Representative Jim Jordan has claimed, citing agency whistleblowers. Jordan argued that the FBI may be inflating the statistics to satisfy the Biden administration's crackdown on the supposed threat of homegrown terror.

"From recent protected disclosures, we have learned that FBI officials are pressuring agents to reclassify cases as 'domestic violent extremism' even if the cases do not meet the criteria for such a classification," Jordan wrote in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday.

"Given the narrative pushed by the Biden administration that domestic violent extremism is the 'greatest threat' facing our country, the revelation that the FBI may be artificially padding domestic terrorism data is scandalous," Jordan continued.

Former Clinton advisor Mark Middleton was found dead under mysterious circumstances in May. Middleton is the main link between Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein. Days after Ghislaine Maxwell revealed she would unveil her client list for a reduced sentence, Middleton suddenly died at the age of 59.

The death was ruled a suicide. Middleton allegedly traveled 30 miles from his home to a ranch that he never had reportedly visited. He hung himself from a tree and simultaneously shot himself in the chest with a shotgun. The sheriff at the scene immediately claimed there would be no investigation.

Circuit Judge Alice Gray does not want to end up on the Clinton "suicide" list. The Freedom of Information Act would require some disclosure of unreleased federal documents.

Ukraine, on the eve of a decision by residents liberated from Kiev's Nazi regime to hold a referendum on Zaporozhye Region becoming part of Russia, has turned to nuclear terrorism, trying to destroy nuclear power plants, intimidate civilians and force residents to leave the region. To this end, Kiev's regime attacked the Zaporozhskaya NPP with UAV strikes on July 20. The day before, two other Ukrainian drones also struck a building near the Zaporozhskaya NPP, and then Ukrainian security forces used the UAV in a residential area of the NPP. The attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Zaporozhskaya NPP injured 11 employees, four of whom are currently in serious condition. It is only by sheer luck that the attacks on the Zaporozhskaya NPP did not result in damage to the plant's equipment and a man-made Armageddon.

These attacks could undoubtedly be a "preparatory fire" for a subsequent massive attack on the Zaporozhskaya NPP. By doing so, Kiev is creating clear conditions for a nuclear disaster for all of Europe.

This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on July 21, stressing that provocations are continuing in Ukraine with the aim of threatening nuclear facilities and the security of the entire world. As Zakharova stressed, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been carrying out drone attacks for several days on the territory of the Zaporozhskaya nuclear power plant, in the immediate vicinity of the safety-critical facilities — the spent fuel storage facility and the reactor cooling tank. It is only by sheer luck that this has not yet resulted in damage to the plant's equipment and a man-made disaster similar to Chernobyl. If missiles from Ukraine reach directly the vital systems of the Zaporozhskaya NPP, half of Europe would suffer a disaster. "This confirms the Ukrainian authorities' aim to create prerequisites for a nuclear disaster not only on their own territory, but on the entire territory of Europe," the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman stressed to the world community.

Comment: Leaving aside the high levels of psychopathy existing among the martial and political heads of Kiev, if there were any doubts as to whether half of Europe's leadership is clinically insane, this story should make things quite clear. In the effort to demonize and subjugate Russia to its goals and whims, the EU technocracy is quite willing to not just shoot itself in the foot economically - but to also allow itself to become a radioactive wasteland - just so it can place blame on the wrong party and bolster its, ultimately suicidal, narratives.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at a press availability at the State Department on Wednesday made the dramatic announcement that he intends to speak to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov "in the coming days ... for the first time since the war began" in Ukraine on February 24.

Interestingly, he gave an alibi that harks back to the Soviet era — prisoner exchange.

The US is offering a swap of a Russian entrepreneur Viktor Bout, who was arrested in Thailand in 2008 on a US warrant and later convicted to 25 years in prison on charges of weapons trafficking, in exchange for Brittney Griner, a basketball star who has been detained at Moscow airport on drug charges and, importantly, Paul Whelan, an ex-US Marine, who was arrested in Russia in 2018 and sentenced to 16 years in prison two years later on charges of espionage.

Whelan surely was a prize catch for the Russians. The American ambassador in Moscow had been visiting him in prison.

Blinken also added a second topic he'd like to discuss with Lavrov — implementation of the recent "grain deal". Washington played no role in negotiating the deal and is presumably hoping to make a lateral entry into the matrix now. Blinken claimed he is "seeing and hearing around the world a desperate need for food, a desperate need for prices to decrease. And if we can help through our direct diplomacy encourage the Russians to make good on the commitments they've made, that will help people around the world, and I'm determined to do it."

Interestingly, in a veiled reference to the US, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavuсoglu stated Wednesday on broadcaster Tv100 that there were countries who "wanted to block" the grain deal between Russia and Turkey, who want the Ukraine conflict "to prolong", as they think the longer Moscow's special military operation continues, "the weaker Russia will be."

Fair enough. Blinken then came to the real purpose of his forthcoming call with Lavrov — "the plans that Russia now has to pursue the annexation of Ukrainian territory."
