Farmers are going to extreme measures just to eek out a crop, as a cold, wet winter kills crops and rots fodder. History is repeating as we enter the sun's Grand Minimum cycle. Also, massive Solar Storms -- the likes of which would decimate our society -- have happened before, and will happen again.

Video captures woman getting attacked by pack of 10 dogs in St. Francis County, Arkansas

dog attack
An Arkansas woman said she was dragged behind a house and attacked by a pack of dogs while out walking. A passerby captured video.

Miesha Bryant said she couldn't believe there was a woman under the pack of dogs when she was driving down Country Road 323. "As I got closer, I seen that it was a human leg," Bryant said.

Bryant said she started honking her horn, hollered and tried everything to scare off the dogs.

"Once I started stomping that's when some of them backed away. That's when I got out of the car and was like go on, go on," she said.

CBS affiliate WREG reported that the victim's mother, Lisa Ennis, said the doctor told the family that her daughter had more dog bites than he could count.

Marine experts say two dead gray whales were found in the San Francisco Bay this week and that one of them died from severe malnutrition.

The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito said Thursday scientists were unable to determine a cause of death for the other whale.

A team conducted necropsies on the 1-year-old, 23-foot-long female whales Tuesday at Angel Island State Park.

Comment: 3 individuals of the same species also washed up at the same location of Angel Island last year.

A massive late winter storm is bringing blizzard conditions to a number of central U.S. states
© NASA/NOAA GOES PROJECTA massive late winter storm is bringing blizzard conditions to a number of central U.S. states Thursday. In affected areas, many agencies are shutting down and urging people to stay off the roads.
The most intense blizzard system with lowest pressure readings ever set with record snows, floods and wind speeds since the late 1800's. Winter storm Ulema a once in a century inland bombogenesis that wreaked havoc through the US and Canada. This video explains how the storm evolved , where it passed with destruction in its path and where the remnants are heading. This in my opinion is a Grand Solar Minimum storm.

'Bomb cyclone' triggers widespread flooding on Mississippi, Missouri rivers in US

A powerful, late-winter "bomb cyclone" storm pushed into the US Midwest and the Great Lakes region on Friday (March 15), causing flooding along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, stranding herds of cattle and raising alarms at a Nebraska nuclear power plant.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts issued an emergency declaration for the state, citing forecasts of up to 0.61m of snow and high winds that are expected to make travel "difficult to impossible" on roads.

"Nebraskans should watch the forecast closely in the coming days and be prepared for severe weather events in conjunction with potential historic flooding," Mr Ricketts said in the declaration.

"As Nebraskans know, conditions can change quickly, and everyone needs to be prepared."

Ranchers posted images on social media of their cattle being dug out of snowdrifts or stranded in fields.

"Widespread and extremely dangerous flooding will continue today and tonight," the National Weather Service office in Omaha, Nebraska, said on Friday in a statement.

With heavy rain and winds of up to 170 kilometers per hour (105 mph), Tropical Cyclone Idai unleashed widespread damage and destruction Friday on the port city of Beira, leaving more than a dozen dead and cutting off communications and electricity.

After making landfall late Thursday, Idai felled pylons, destroyed houses and blew the roofs off seven schools. The airport was shut down after suffering damage to its control tower and runways. Flooding also swamped Beira's roads, and the hospital suspended surgeries due to the storm.

"There has been a lot of damage. Many homes have been left without roofs," said Alberto Mondlane, the provincial governor.

The power and communication outages left Beira's roughly 530,000 residents cut off.

Power outages also affected the provinces of Manica and parts of Inhambane.
