U.S. civil rights commissioners: Obama-era school leniency policy is dangerous

Two members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights say the Obama-era school leniency policy that discourages reports of threatening behavior by minority students to law enforcement is dangerous.

"Many schools that have adopted lenient disciplinary policies - i.e., defining offenses down so that blacks and Hispanics aren't suspended or expelled at significantly higher rates than whites and Asians - have seen marked increases in the number and severity of offenses," attorney Peter Kirsanow, a Republican member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, tells Breitbart News. "St. Paul is just one example, but numerous districts across the country have reported spikes in violence against teachers and students, as well as other forms of disruptive behavior."

"Students (and teachers) have reported being fearful of going to school," adds Kirsanow, who also chairs the board of directors of the Center for New Black Leadership. "One school principal stated unequivocally that the people that are most harmed are the good students who want to learn but are harmed by the chaotic environment."

School shooters: Israeli forces pose as journalists to abduct Palestinian university student leader

Disguised Israeli forces have stormed Birzeit University in the occupied West Bank and seized the head of the university's student council. Two students were reportedly injured by gunfire during the raid.

Omar Kiswani was taken by soldiers who reportedly posed as journalists. The university posted footage of Wednesday's raid online, showing a group of six men pinning Kiswani down and pointing their guns at onlookers.

According to the university, the attackers "carrying firearms in their backpacks, entered the campus during working hours and attacked the student in front of the Student Council Building." It also called the operation a "barbaric intrusion" and said that two students were recovering in hospital after being injured when the Israeli forces fired into the campus.

Student council member Yahya Alawi, who witnessed the abduction, told the Palestinian Quds News Network that the Israelis "identified Omar and called over to him as if they wanted to interview him as journalists." Alawi said they then "beat [Kiswani], pulled out their weapons, and a large group of occupation soldiers stormed through the main entrance of the university."

Comment: Leave it to the Israelis to come up with the bright idea of posing as school shooters posing as journalists.

The two heads of far-right group Britain First have been found guilty of religious hate crimes. Party leader Paul Golding and deputy leader Jayda Fransen have been found guilty of four charges in total.

Golding, 36, and Fransen, 32, both of Penge, south-east London, stood trial in January at Folkestone Magistrates' Court. They were charged with three and four counts respectively of hate crime.

Golding and Fransen were arrested over the distribution of leaflets and videos which were posted online during the trial of three Muslim men and a teen, all of whom were later convicted of rape and jailed.

The court heard how last year Fransen went to the home of one of the defendants, Tamin Rahmani, and shouted abuse through the front door. His partner, Best, said she was alone with their two children - aged 18 months and three years - when the incident happened.

CNN includes transexual Caitlyn Jenner in 'International Women's Day' celebration

CNN asked Caitlyn Jenner, a biological male, to supply a quote for its celebration of "International Women's Day."

For its March 8th International Women's Day discussion, CNN asked women around the world: "What single thing would you change to improve gender equality where you are?" One of those asked to contribute was former Olympic champion, Kardashian TV cast member, and, biological man, Caitlyn Jenner.

The cabler invited celebrities, athletes, politicians, businesswomen, and activists to offer their pearls of wisdom about the day meant to praise the contribution of women across the world.

Comment: "What single thing would you change to improve gender equality where you are?" That is a very difficult question to answer in a crazy world that is no longer sure about what is a man and what is a woman. One thing is certain: men and women are not something people choose to be. Gender is biologically determined before birth - not something that society 'constructed' as postmodernists would like to think.

Question

Toxic masculinity: A valid concept?

On the dangers of pathologizing manhood
toxic masculinity
The two fundamental objectives in the evolutionary game of life are to first survive (natural selection) and then to mate (sexual selection). For sexually reproducing species including humans, evolution has endowed males and females with universal mating preferences that map onto sex-specific recurring challenges faced by each sex during our evolutionary history. This is profoundly obvious to anyone with a grade 8 level understanding of human biology and human psychology.

Female fiddler crabs and hens prefer males with extravagantly large claws and tails respectively. Ewes (female rams) will mate with the ram that wins the brutal intrasexual head-butting contest. They reward targeted aggression by granting sexual access. Needless to say, there are innumerable other examples of sexual selection that I might describe but I suspect that you get the general gist. Are rams exhibiting toxic masculinity? Are female fiddler crabs succumbing to antiquated notions of masculinity as promulgated by the crab patriarchy?

Woman jailed for complaining about cop husband on Facebook

Anne King
In yet another federal civil rights lawsuit, the American taxpayer will likely foot the bill for the unconscionable actions of a few uneducated and unscrupulous police officers. This time, the police officer decided to arrest his ex-wife for "criminal defamation" of character, for Facebook posts she made which he, obviously, didn't like.

The only problem is that criminal defamation was ruled unconstitutional in Georgia over 30 years ago! Worse yet, court papers reveal an earlier accusation that Officer Corey King used his badge to coerce his ex-wife into having post-divorce sex with him in order to keep her out of jail!

The lawsuit was filed on the 19th of January, 2017. Anne King is suing her ex-husband, Officer King, and fellow officer and investigator Trey Burgamy for violating her first and fourth amendment rights to free speech and unreasonable search, seizure, and arrest, as well as malicious prosecution, false arrest, and civil conspiracy. She's suing both men, who are Washington County, Georgia police officers, for an unspecified amount of money to be determined by the court.

The lawsuit is set to be settled Thursday, March 8, 2018.

After an interviewer attacks right-wing politician Marine Le Pen about posting IS images, she hits out and exposes the media's hypocrisy.

The journalist asks Le Pen frequently if she regrets posting the pictures, because children could have seen them as well.

"Who published the photos of the little boy dead on the beach?" Asks Le Pen. "Could they not have been seen by children also?" She adds that journalists show bloody images from war-torn countries as well "because when it bleeds it leads and the journalists are happy", she says.

Campus feminism's war on women

feminist rally
At a time when the majority of American college students are female-currently 57 percent of all students-higher education's conversation surrounding women's rights is largely dominated by modern feminist ideology. Roughly 63 percent of female students identify as feminists, and while no similar statistic is available for female faculty or staff members, most likely an even higher percentage of them identify as such.

On the surface, feminist ideals seem to have the good of all women in mind: After all, who would characterize him or herself as opposed to women's "freedom" and "equality"?

Ukrainians were over-consuming gas when it was being delivered by Russia, says Ukraine's Naftogaz chief

The Ukrainians were clearly over-consuming gas during periods when Russia's Gazprom was supplying it, Naftogaz CEO said, days after Gazprom terminated its contract with the Ukrainian company and new gas shortages were revealed.

Speaking at the CERAWeek annual energy conference in Houston, Texas, Andrey Kobolyev claimed that Ukraine had become a "victim of a vicious circle" of Russian gas consumption. "We had giant and ineffective consumption," he said, adding that "Ukraine used six times as much gas as any European country" if one takes into account how much gas one household spent on a per-square-meter basis.

The Ukrainian energy company head then, predictably, went on to blame "populist politicians, who were enjoying strong support from Russia" for such a state of affairs. At the same time, he admitted that the Ukrainian households bought natural gas for a reduced cost that accounted for just five percent of its real market cost, before Naftogaz de facto ceased buying gas from Gazprom. That did not stop him from calling this fact just another "reason for excessive consumption."
