Cop stands trial for beating and tasing an innocent man lying in his bed

police taser
Only in police state USA could an argument over a husband failing to notice his wife's haircut end with police tasering and severely beating a man as he lies in bed. That is exactly what happened to Marine Corps veteran Fernando Del Valle - and he's got the video to prove it. What is different about this case, however, is that the cop responsible for this bad behavior is now on trial.

This week, the trial for Deputy Scott Thorne begins. Thorne is charged with assaulting without lawful necessity during an alleged domestic violence incident at a Sonoma Valley residence in 2016.

According to Patch.com, during testimony in Sonoma County Superior Court this morning, a next-door neighbor said she called 911 about yelling and a commotion between Fernando Del Valle and his wife Kirsten Del Valle around 10:30 p.m. She said Kirsten sounded intoxicated and appeared to be the aggressor in the argument.

Aside from police being told that the female was the aggressor, they still entered the home and went after Del Valle-who was lying on a bed-when he was savagely attacked.

Why the West cannot abide Russia

russian jets air show
When it comes to Russia or the Soviet Union, reports and historical accounts do get blurry; in the West they do, and consequently in all of its 'client states'.

Fairytales get intermingled with reality, while fabrications are masterfully injected into sub consciousness of billions of people worldwide. Russia is an enormous country, in fact the largest country on Earth in terms of territory. It is scarcely inhabited. It is deep, and as a classic once wrote: "It is impossible to understand Russia with one's brain. One could only believe in it."

The Western mind generally doesn't like things unknown, spiritual and complex. Since the 'old days', especially since the crusades and monstrous colonialist expeditions to all corners of the world, the Westerners were told fables about their own "noble deeds" performed in the plundered lands. Everything had to be clear and simple: "Virtuous Europeans were civilizing savages and spreading Christianity, therefore, in fact, saving those dark poor primitive souls."

Afghan security forces keep watch near the site of the blast in Kabul, Afghanistan March 9, 2018.
An explosion at a security checkpoint near a mosque in the Afghan capital of Kabul has killed at least seven people and injured 22 others. It's believed to have been caused by a suicide bomber, according to Reuters.

The blast occurred about 300 meters from the Mosalla-e-Mazari area in Kabul's PD6 on Friday, according to the Ministry of Interior's Deputy Spokesman Nusrat Rahimi, who informed TOLO news.

The attack appeared to target a crowd, including senior government officials, which had gathered at a Shiite mosque to celebrate the anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari's death, the former leader of Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility.

8 yr old boy shoots 4 yr old sister, mother cleans up and goes to work

Alyssa Edwards
Hayesville, Ohio - A prosecutor says an 8-year-old Ohio boy loaded a rifle, repeatedly shot his 4-year-old sister at home and then informed their mother, who left work to check the girl's injuries, cleaned up a bloody bed cover and then returned to work, leaving the children alone again.

The woman, 27-year-old Alyssa Edwards, is jailed on child endangerment charges related to the Saturday shooting in Hayesville, about 70 miles (113 kilometers) southwest of Cleveland.

The Ashland Times-Gazette reports Edwards tearfully appeared in court Monday and said there was no information the judge needed to consider before he set her bond at $30,000. An attorney is being appointed for Edwards for her Wednesday arraignment.

The girl remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition. Ashland County sheriff's Chief Deputy Carl Richert says the girl's injuries were not considered life-threatening. No other details about the girl's injuries have been released. Her brother was in the custody of children's services.

Ohio cop who curb stomped head of handcuffed, compliant man now back on the job

A crooked cop was fired after a video showed him curb stomping a compliant handcuffed man. However, thanks to a corrupt system, he's since been reinstated and is back on the street.

Zachary Rosen police brutality
After being fired for walking up to a handcuffed man and stomping his head into the curb, an Ohio cop is back on the job thanks to an insultingly corrupt system that empowers and rewards bad police officers.

In July of 2017, Officer Zachary Rosen was fired after he was seen on video committing an atrocious act of assault. Now, however, the Fraternal Order of Police has managed to get the abusive cop reinstated to the Columbus Division of Police.

As TFTP reported at the time, Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs had only recommended a 24-hour suspension for Rosen. However, the Public Safety Director, after reviewing the video, and Rosen's past, decided he should be fired.

TFTP predicted he would be back on the job.

Baltimore police detective murdered before he could testify on police corruption - crime unsolved after months

Suiter died a day after being shot while investigating a case in a particularly troubled area of west Baltimore.
Baltimore (AP) - In the nearly four months since Baltimore Detective Sean Suiter was shot in the head with his own gun the day before he was to testify for a grand jury investigating police corruption, his killing has become a baffling whodunit - a real-life version of the winding TV sagas that chronicled the city's cops, crooks and corruption.

The detective's death while investigating a 2016 triple murder in gritty West Baltimore has been the subject of numerous TV and radio broadcasts, detailed written accounts, an aggressive manhunt and a $215,000 reward, but nobody has been charged.

With investigators led by city police coming up empty-handed, authorities say a fresh perspective is necessary as the force grapples with the fallout of an explosive federal corruption probe into a rogue unit of Baltimore detectives.

Commissioner Darryl DeSousa, who was confirmed as the city's top police official Feb. 26, is bringing in an independent review board to examine the sensitive case in hopes outsiders can shed light on the Nov. 15 attack by an unidentified suspect.

"I just think we need a fresh set of eyes on it," DeSousa said in a phone interview. "I think everybody just wants answers, one way or another. It's a tragedy that this happened, and people just want some type of closure."

Taking back the media: 800 women occupy O Globo newspaper to denounce 'coup' in Brazil

Taking to the grounds this morning, the women said their objective is to denounce
O Globo's decisive action to foster political instability in Brazil.

Some 800 women have occupied the O Globo newspaper headquarters, Brazil's largest privately owned communication company, in Rio de Janeiro Thursday morning. Taking to the grounds at 5:30 a.m. local time, the group said their objective is to denounce the media giant's decisive action to foster political instability in Brazil.

Representing social groups such as the Rural Landless Movement, or MST, Popular Youth Uprising, Movement of Small Family Farmers and the Movement of Those Affected by Dams, as well as concerned residents from local communities, the women emphasized that O Globo helped build the narrative which resulted in the 2016 impeachment of former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

Notwithstanding this feat, the media company has consistently published material contributing to the political persecution of former Brazilian president, and this year's presidential hopeful, Luiz Inacio 'Lula' da Silva.

Fraud, deception, laundering - Bailed out banks still behaving badly and no one's stopping them

When is a crime a crime? I am thinking here of the wrongs committed by players in the financial markets, banks, brokers, financial advisers and the like. Unlike financial crimes, violent crimes and property crimes allow clear definition and proof. If you have been assaulted, you may have a black eye. If you have been burgled, perhaps a window has been broken and your desk ransacked. It is obvious what has happened.

Financial crimes are not like that. Look at some recent examples. If a bank allows its facilities to be used for money laundering, then it is enabling criminal activity. It is a bit like receiving stolen goods. Rather than hiding the loot, the bank disguises it. But it is very hard for the outside observer to detect what is going on. The full extent of the crime will be discovered only if an insider blows a whistle or a regulator makes some astute enquiries. Yet it is a serious crime. Deutsche Bank was recently fined £163m for money laundering.

The big banks also succeeded in rigging one of the most important interest rates, the London Interbank Offered Rate, commonly referred to as Libor. This is an average interest rate calculated through submissions of interest rates by major banks across the world and is thus is a sort of international marker. Its presence increases the efficiency of financial markets.

Great idea: Rabbi Cardozo says outlawing circumcision would 'end the state of Israel'

Rabbi Nathan Lopes Cardozo
The debate concerning outlawing ritual circumcision is raging. Also here in Denmark, it is now very much at the fore, in mainstream news. Other Nordic countries such as Iceland and Norway have had strong popular motions to set an age limit to circumcision, and this is following the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe's suggestion from 2013 to ban ritual circumcision (Children's right to physical integrity). I have even attended a church sermon recently (yes, that's right - I went there mostly to hear Bach's music!), where the priest used his whole sermon to address the debate - pointing out that Jesus was also a circumcised Jew!

The latter is a kind of an amusing statement - but there's an irony there, which was clearly lost on the priest - that Jesus couldn't have taken a decision about his own circumcision at the age of 8 days. And this is really the point of the whole debate. It's not about circumcision as such, as a medical procedure - but about ritual, forced circumcision.

Recently a very prominent rabbi, Nathan Lopes Cardozo, has made a novel assertion in the debate (writing in Times of Israel):
As Spinoza, who had left all Jewishness, so correctly observed, circumcision is the secret to the miracle of Jewish survival. What those Jews who oppose circumcision should never forget is that the attempt to outlaw this rite may not just make Jewish life impossible, but would probably end all Jewish existence. In fact, it is a call to end the State of Israel as the national homeland of the Jewish people.
Cardozo's piece is so egregious, it deserves its own particular focus and analysis, which I will provide here. But before I go further into the intricacies of Cardozo's piece, I would just like to accentuate that Cardozo is an Orthodox rabbi of considerable international clout. UK Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks has said that "Rabbi Nathan Lopes Cardozo has emerged as one of the most thoughtful voices in contemporary Judaism. He is a man of deep faith and wide intellectual horizons, unafraid to confront the challenges of the age with the quiet confidence of one who is attuned to the music of eternity."

Twitter, a social media platform that regularly finds itself in scandals involving bias against conservatives, is now hiding innocuous tweets from President Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr., behind content filters. One of the filtered tweets, from Trump Jr., was critical of Twitter's uneven enforcement of its terms of service.

Two tweets from the President, made today, and one from Trump Jr., posted on March 4, are currently hidden behind content filters. Users navigating to their profile pages with their content filters on will not be able to see the tweets.

Comment: The war on information continues in a big way. Twitter, Facebook and Google/ Youtube are now censoring many conservative news outlets. Given roughly half of any given population is conservative, this may not end in the way they hope.
