A French museum dedicated to the painter Etienne Terrus made a shocking announcement Friday: the majority of works on display for the past two decades were, in fact, fakes.

The announcement was made the day the museum in Elne, southern France reopened following a months-long renovation and inventory project that began in October 2017.

So far, 82 of the 140 works in the collection of paintings, drawings, and watercolors, with an estimated value of €160,000 ($194,076), originally attributed to Terrus, were found to be fake.

Three pieces have yet to be examined fully to determine their authenticity using ultraviolet scans.

Tesla shareholder urges to oust Elon Musk as board chairman

Elon Musk
Elon Musk, the head of US electric vehicle producer Tesla, may lose his position as the board's chairman as one of the firm's stakeholders submitted a proposal urging the board to hire an independent director.

"Although the current leadership structure, in which the positions of Chairman and CEO are held by one person, could provide an effective leadership for Tesla at the early stage, now in this much more highly competitive and rapidly changing technology industry, it is more and more difficult to oversee Tesla's business and senior management (especially to minimize any potential conflicts) that may result from combining the positions of CEO and Chairman," Zhao wrote in his proposal.

Zhao, who is beneficial owner of 12 shares of the Tesla's common stock, pointed out that Musk's positions at SolarCity and SpaceX as well as degree of his involvement could trigger conflicts down the road.

My tree is bigger than yours: Korean leaders 'out-trees' Trump

Kim and Moon
© Reuters
Days after the US and French presidents did some viral tree-planting, the two Korean did their bit to turn gardening into a new global trend. Awkwardly enough, Trump and Macron were seemingly outdone or rather, out-treed.

In a historic moment on Friday, North Korea's Kim Jong-un and South Korea's Moon Jae-in were spotted shoveling soil on the roots of a pine tree. The pine tree was beloved by ancient Koreans, and the leaders' gesture was meant to represent the peace and prosperity that both countries envisage for their future. Kim and Moon proceeded to figuratively plant a tree of peace, signing a declaration that proclaimed a "new era" in relations.

Everything about the ceremony was symbolic, including the soil and water taken from both Koreas, and the fact that the pine tree was sown in 1953, the year the divided peninsula signed the armistice which ended the Korean War.

Diamond and Silk on fire during hearing on censorship with Rep. Hank Johnson

diamond silk
Pro-Trump conservative media personalities Diamond and Silk, sisters whose real names are Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, testified before the House Judiciary Committee Thursday on the topic of bias against conservatives by companies like Facebook, in a hearing that frequently went off the rails. The sisters defended their claims that they were censored by the tech giant, often in very strong terms.

They said that if Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was censoring liberals, "Democrats would be in the streets right now marching and calling him all types of racist."

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) implied the sisters were making a lot of money off of Facebook, a characterization they strongly denied.

"You ladies are very impressive to me," Rep. Johnson said, "you have taken something and moved forward with it, exercising your First Amendment rights, and you've made a ton of money off Facebook, is that correct?

"Absolutely not," Hardaway replied angrily, "Facebook censored us for six months."

Comment: Diamond and Silk got the Alice in Wonderland treatment from Facebook: The U.S. may no longer be the land of the free, but it's still the home of the brave. Diamond and Silk are a testament to that.

Kremlin hopes American people will study US House report on Russia, promises surprises

The latest US House Intelligence Committee report on Russia should make people wonder about the real reasons for the continuing Russian collusion hysteria, Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters.

"We would like to hope that some people in America actually read this report, because sometimes there is an impression that these reports are not released for people to read them. And if there are such curious investigators who would study the actual text, they would be surprised and start asking questions on where all this hysteria comes from and what are the reasons behind it," Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, was quoted as saying by TASS during the Saturday press briefing.

Iran arrests London-backed spy cell

Abbas Edalat
Members of a team affiliated to Britain with links with the groups leading the 2009 unrests were arrested by the security forces, a source said on Thursday.

"Recently, members of a network affiliated to Britain have been arrested", who sought to launch espionage operations in Iran and had contacts with some main members of the group who led the 2009 unrests and other anti-Iran groups, the source told FNA.

Abbas Edalat was also among those arrested in Iran.

British sources said last night that Edalat is a British-Iranian citizen and a professor of computer sciences and mathematics at Imperial College in London.

Imperial College plays a special role in training spies in different disguises to launch espionage operations inside Iran.

According to Wall Street Journal, Edalat traveled to Iran from his home in London at an unknown date to attend an academic workshop, according to family friends.

The British Foreign Office said in a statement that it was "urgently seeking information from the Iranian authorities following reports of the arrest of a British-Iranian dual national."

The social justice mob attacks Kanye West

Stephen Colbert Trump Kanye West

Stephen Colbert's Wednesday night attack on Kanye West's sanity, followed by the late-night host's demand that the rap superstar stop praising Trump, might have been wrapped in humor, but these tactics are as old as the Democrat Party itself.

Although the approach has evolved over the centuries, Democrats have always sought to hold on to power by controlling, manipulating, and even threatening black Americans.

Today, as a means to keep blacks in their place and hold on to electoral power, Democrats do what Colbert did Tuesday night - use the weapons of ridicule and the threat of social ostracization to punish independent-thinking black men.

32 year anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster

Disaster
© Sean GallupThe Ukrianian town of Pripyat, just outside the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, is a ghost town after a disaster at the plant 32 years ago.
Thirty-two years ago, the world witnessed the worst ever civil nuclear disaster when the Chernobyl nuclear power plant ejected a cloud of radiation into the air above northern Ukraine.

Much has changed since that April day in 1986-including the former Soviet Union itself. On the anniversary of the deadly disaster, here are the facts to know.

On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in northern Ukraine, near the city of Pripyat, suffered a series of explosions and a fire that caused a tremendous amount of radiation to be released into the atmosphere, mostly iodine and cesium isotopes. Experts point to both flawed design in the reactor as well as improper training-and response-of the power plant's employees.

Are we entering a new reality?

korea unified
Well I'll be damned. There's a lot of cool stuff happening all of a sudden.

After loudly denying rigging their primaries for two years, the leaders of the Democratic Party are now openly admitting to deliberately stacking primary elections to ensure the win of preselected establishment loyalists. In response to an audio recording of House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer telling a progressive congressional candidate that he'll be running in a contest rigged for his opponent by the DCCC if he doesn't drop out, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi came right out and told the press "I don't see anything inappropriate in what Mr. Hoyer was engaged in - a conversation about the realities of life in the race as to who can make the general election."

I mean, wow. She just came right out and said it. All it took was a little audio recording to transform months and months of "But Russia! Russia Russia Russia!" into "Yeah of course we do that. Duh."

And it really is that blatant and undeniable. I've gotten a few establishment loyalists in my social media notifications attempting to argue that "rigging" is too strong a word for the act of secretly stacking primary contests to ensure the election of preselected candidates, but their heart isn't really in it. After a certain point there's only so much Orwellian doublethink you can do.

Comment: Perhaps there is a 'shift in consciousness' on the horizon. But whether it leads to any type of spiritual evolution remains to be seen, as a shift can go either way. Let's hope it's for the better, as there are still many obstacles ahead of us.
