Hateful liberal derangement is killing comedy in the Age of Trump

The level of political rhetoric ripping through the US has hit such a fever pitch that even the world of comedy has been weaponized for political gain. As a result, comedy is no longer a laughing matter for many Americans.

If ever the United States of Anger needed an industrial-size dose of comic relief injected straight into its gluteus maximus, now is certainly the time. The entire country is heading for political divorce court, if not outright civil war along deeply entrenched battle lines. And don't expect the next generation of Americans to provide any answers.

These so-called millennials, the snot-nosed offspring of this dysfunctional marriage who would sooner trash their own campuses than hear a voice that clashes with the one rattling around inside of their soft heads, are a lost generation. Comedy could act as the perfect antidote against this national contagion.

Comment: It's not just comedy that is being killed. Every cultural endeavor from entertainment to sports, education and even our language is being penetrated by a vapid political agenda.

The findings from the University of Miami are the first to assess the sexual function of people in the adult entertainment industry.

Through interviews with 100 women, researchers found 25 percent of them struggled to orgasm, suffered pain during sex, or had diminished sex drive.

Speaking to 100 men, they found 69 percent used erectile aids at work, and 58 percent needed the pills to have sex at home, too - most of them aged under 29.

A transgender prisoner has been jailed for life after she admitted sexually assaulting two female inmates and previously raping two other women.

Leeds Crown Court heard Karen White, 52, was a "predator" who posed a danger to women and children.

White, who was born male but now identifies as a woman and is transitioning, was jailed for two counts of rape, two sexual assaults while being held on remand and one offence of wounding.

She used her "transgender persona" to put herself in contact with vulnerable women, the court heard.

White - described by Judge Christopher Batty as "highly manipulative" - has previous convictions for gross indecency involving children, indecent exposure, indecent assault, dishonesty and violence.

State Rep. Angel Cruz

"If it's good for one, it's good for all." That's what one Pennsylvania legislator is arguing in a new proposal that would require all state lawmakers to be tested for illegal drugs

Philadelphia County Rep. Angel Cruz submitted House Bill 620 as an amendment to Senate Bill 6, which calls for drug testing for Pennsylvanians on welfare and other state assistance programs.

"The lawmakers are the lawmakers, and we're not above the law," Rep. Cruz told WGAL in Lancaster.

This isn't Cruz's first attempt at passing similar legislation.

Cruz has previously championed three prior variations of the bill, but with no success. And with just five days left in the current session, he does not expect his amendment or the Senate bill to pass this year, either, according to WGAL.

Internet users around the world may experience network connection failures on Thursday as the main domain servers and related infrastructure controlling the web will be powered down for some time.

The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which is responsible for maintaining the registry of domain names and IP addresses, will be changing the cryptographic key that helps protect the Domain Name System (DNS) or the internet's address book.

It's an important measure to ensure a secure, stable, and resilient DNS, according to the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA).

"To further clarify, some internet users might be affected if their network operators or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have not prepared for this change. However, this impact can be avoided by enabling the appropriate system security extensions," it said.

A New York artist is encouraging dogs to urinate on the US President by leaving small statues of Donald Trump around Brooklyn with the accompanying sign 'Pee On Me'.

The 'art exhibit' is by Phil Gable, who serves as creative director for the brand content company Porcupine Armadillo. Gable said the purpose of the installation is to add "a little moment of levity" to the generally depressing political climate, but admitted to VICE it was also a personal expression of his own personal "disdain for Donald Trump".

"I've always loved political humor," the artist told told NBC, adding that with the current administration "people need some good laughs just to make it through the day."

Comment: One can't help but wonder how people would have reacted if the artist had done the same thing using an Obama statue during his presidency.

A British student accused of "seeking confidential information about the UAE" is facing trial after being held in solitary confinement for five months in an Abu Dhabi prison on suspected spy charges.

Matthew Hedges, a 31-year-old PhD student at Durham University, has been accused of spying for the UK, the Financial Times reports. According to his wife, Daniela Tejada, he has expressed suicidal thoughts in a phone call.

Hedges, in the UAE for a two-week visit, was detained at Dubai Airport on May 5. The student was conducting interviews on the impact of the UAE's foreign and security strategy.

In an apparent reference to the PhD student, local press in the UAE last month reported that a foreign national had been accused of "seeking confidential information about the UAE" to give to an overseas agency.

New York prosecutors have dropped one of the sex crime charges against disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein, according to news agencies.

Weinstein appeared before New York Judge James Burke as his lawyers tried to have some or all of the charges he faces dismissed. The basis for the motion filed by Ben Brafman said prosecutors withheld evidence when presenting the case to the grand jury, such as friendly emails that one of Weinstein accusers sent to him. The case includes rape and sexual assault charges.

During the Thursday hearing, the prosecutors agreed to drop charges relating to an alleged sexual assault. They said they could not oppose the dismissal in light of information that they had learned while investigating the case.

The Russian ombudsman for children's rights has proposed developing a procedure for blocking AliExpress and similar e-trading platforms, as they can bypass regulations to sell goods that are dangerous for children.

Ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova sent a letter containing this proposal to Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika in late September, Kommersant daily reported on Thursday.

She asked the prosecutor general to examine the possibility of taking a court case with a view to blocking websites that sell children's goods in a manner contrary to Russian customs regulations.
