Moldovan election wasn't 'free or fair' - Kremlin

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov believes that the former Soviet Republic's election was not democratic.

The Kremlin has refused to fully acknowledge that Maia Sandu won last weekend's Moldovan presidential election, asserting that the electoral process was neither fair nor democratic.

Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Sandu cannot be seen as the legitimate holder of the office, emphasizing that "the majority of people within Moldova itself did not vote for her." Peskov criticized the Moldovan electoral framework, pointing to what he described as significant procedural irregularities that hindered the voting rights of its citizens residing in Russia.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has highlighted that despite an estimated 500,000 Moldovans living in Russia, only a handful of polling stations were made available to them. In contrast, over 200 polling sites were set up in Western states, which allowed for much higher voter accessibility among the diaspora there. This disparity, according to Peskov, "compromises the transparency" of the vote and raises questions about its legitimacy.
"As for Mrs. Sandu, we believe she is not the legitimate president of her country, as most of the population within Moldova did not vote for her."

Whistleblower: 'It's almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that's okay'

A federal disaster relief official ordered workers to bypass the homes of Donald Trump's supporters as they surveyed damage caused by Hurricane Milton in Florida, according to internal correspondence obtained by The Daily Wire and confirmed by multiple federal employees.

A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to "avoid homes advertising Trump" as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn'i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire.

The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance, meaning they were not given the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance. Images shared with The Daily Wire show that houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote in the government system messages such as: "Trump sign no entry per leadership."

Comment: FEMA needs a complete overhaul, if not abolishment. It is not fit for purpose.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed loses re-election bid to Levi Strauss heir Daniel Lurie

Lefty city struggling with sky-high crime rates

San Francisco Mayor London Breed lost her re-election bid Thursday night to Levi Strauss heir Daniel Lurie following years in which the liberal city struggled with sky-high crime and deteriorating quality of life.

Breed, whose tenure began in 2017, said she called Lurie to concede the election two days after voters went to the polls in the rank-choice election.

"Being Mayor of San Francisco has been the greatest honor of my lifetime. I'm beyond grateful to our residents for the opportunity to serve the City that raised me," she said in a statement.

Comment: Fortune reports:
Lurie's election underscores residents' dissatisfaction with the status quo in San Francisco, a longtime tech boomtown that's now struggling to recover economically from the pandemic. Lurie, one of three moderate Democrats who ran on the promise to clean up homelessness, open-air drug markets and combat retail theft and other crimes — set himself apart by framing his own narrative as a political outsider.

As one of the wealthiest people to ever run for mayor of the city, he thwarted attacks from opponents who labeled him as a "trust fund kid" for relying on his family's money to self-finance his campaign.

His background proved an asset. As founder of a poverty-fighting nonprofit, Lurie won over voters despite his lack of government experience and a public record on policy issues. He has vowed to tackle corruption, hire more police and build additional homeless shelters.
Good luck to Mr. Lurie. He's going to need it.

Trump's win is a victory for the non-brainwashed Americans

US voters have proven they can still judge reality by what it is, despite all of the establishment's efforts.

Blowout alert! I guess average Americans don't like being infantilized. At least Trump trusted them to be able to take a joke, unlike his opponents.

So when's Liz Cheney's date with the firing squad already? Are we done yet with the anti-Trump fake news now that the majority of voters see through it? Probably not, huh?

With the exception of those in a handful of states, Americans united to send former US President Donald Trump back to the White House and handed him carte blanche with Republican control of the Senate and likely the House as well. Not bad for a guy the establishment tried to brand as the reincarnation of Hitler. Did Hitler also have giant Israeli flags at his Madison Square Garden rally? Or hang out at the Jewish wall in Israel or with Hebrew-inscribed tablets in a yarmulke? That should have been the Democrats' first sign that their branding attempt was off. Yet, just like the fitting title of the upcoming Harris biography co-authored by Chelsea Clinton: She Persisted.

Woke bloodbath: Leftist movements are paying the price for their arrogance

If you thought Kamala Harris was a sure win in 2024, then you haven't been paying attention to the epic shift in the cultural zeitgeist over the past few years. The thing that bothers me most about political and social analysis is dealing with people who foolishly assume nothing ever changes. Things change all the time. People can and do learn from the past. Nothing is hopeless, and nihilists are lazy and incompetent.

For example, since 2020 within liberty movement circles there has been a contingent of naysayers claiming that red states were being subversively "turned blue" by leftists relocating during the pandemic. My argument was that this was an idiotic take.

Yes, there were mass relocations across the US but all the data showed the vast majority of these people were conservatives seeking to escape blue state tyranny. I can't tell you how many "experts" tried to argue with me that Texas, Florida, Idaho, and even my state of Montana were all going to be overrun by progressives. In the aftermath of the election I was once again proven right and they were utterly wrong.

Florida was an absolute landslide for conservatives. It wasn't even close and I doubt that state will ever come close to being blue again. The same happened with Texas, Idaho, Montana, etc. There was no blue wave. It didn't exist. It was actually a red wave.

Aborted, be careful what you wish for

"Let folks cast their votes for Trump if that's their choice. But mark my words, we won't be certifying the election. He might win, but we'll ensure he doesn't step foot in the Oval Office."
— Jamie Raskin (D-MD)
At last, it appears that the Party of Chaos got its fondest wish: it aborted itself in the 2024 election. "Joe Biden" was the coat-hanger it used: this miserable, grifting, now-senile hack politician who will be remembered only for driving his country to the verge of ruin. And for what? All in an effort to cover-up a long train of crimes and abuses against the American people perpetrated by a permanent bureaucracy gone rogue that was the party's partner-in-crime. And now it's over.

The childishness of the Left — AOC whining about "fascism" — is under-appreciated. Note how the party's most august mouthpiece, The New York Times, pretends to soul-search in the aftermath of the election debacle.
"Many Democrats were considering how to navigate a dark future, with the party unable to stop Mr. Trump from carrying out a right-wing transformation of American government. Others turned inward, searching for why the nation rejected them. They spoke about misinformation and the struggle to communicate the party's vision in a diminished news environment inundated with right-wing propaganda"
The New York Times
The New York Times diminished itself. It drove itself crazy with narratives — just as a crazy person with disordered thoughts can't discern what's real and what's not. What they need is a serious mental health check.

Maccabi Tel Aviv FC supporters were reportedly the target of violence in Amsterdam Thursday before and during the soccer team's match against Ajax.

Videos posted on social media appeared to show multiple fights in streets.

Spanish media reported earlier in the week anti-Israel agitators would protest outside the stadium where the match was being played, targeting the club and its fans.

Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, gave an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital on Thursday night.

Mayor Eric Adams is ending his administration's controversial program supplying migrants in city shelters with prepaid debit cards to pay for groceries.

The pilot program distributed the preloaded Mastercards to asylum seekers at hotels-turned-shelters, with a family of four receiving about $350 a week to cover the cost of groceries and baby supplies.

The city hired New Jersey-based tech startup Mobility Capital Finance in a $53 million, one-year "emergency" contract that drew backlash when the city failed to conduct a typical bidding process before picking the company.

But with the one year up shortly, the Adams administration decided against renewing the contract, ABC7 reported.

IMF says productivity declining in most of EU

The bloc's economy is set to recover but growth will be moderate, according to a top official

The EU economy is not growing as fast as it could be and productivity is a problem in every member country, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The director of the IMF's European Department, Alfred Kammer, shared its regional economic outlook for the bloc earlier this week.

Expected GDP growth rate in the EU is predicted to be only 1.1% this year and 1.6% in 2025, up from 0.6% a year earlier.

Commenting on the report, Kammer pointed to three factors holding the EU back.

Comment: Meanwhile, Russia goes from strength to strength
Russia's unemployment remains at record low

The level of joblessness has remained at 2.4% for a third month in a row, according to the president

The unemployment level in Russia remained at a record low of 2.4% for a third month in a row in August, president Vladimir Putin said on Monday at a government meeting on economic issues.

The head of state particularly noted that unemployment among youth (those under 25) has continued to decline rapidly.

"Now it is less than 9%, after having decreased by more than 1 percentage point over the year," Putin said, noting that last year it had stood at 11.6%.

The state statistics agency Rosstat said this month that the unemployment rate in Russia in August had remained at its all-time low level for the third month in a row. The historical minimum of 2.4% was reached in June 2024.

According to Rosstat,1.8 million people aged 15 and older were classified as unemployed as of August.

Talking about the Russian economy as a whole, the president said that it is continuing to grow. Russia's industrial growth over the first eight months of this year was 4.5%, he said; the manufacturing sector added 8.1%, while mechanical engineering grew by almost 20%.

At the same time, Putin noted some imbalances in the economy due to "external sanctions and our own structural limitations, including a shortage of personnel and technology, logistics." These factors are reflected, among other things, in the dynamics of consumer prices, he said.

The government was instructed to develop a supply-side economy, to help boost labor productivity, launch new investment projects and create modern jobs in all industries.

Putin said, citing forecasts, that by the end of the year, Russia's GDP will have grown by 3.9%, which is higher than the global average. The IMF expects global GDP growth to be at 3.2% this year, the Russian president pointed out.
Capitalists gonna capital. Short-sighted sanctions on Russia and individual Russians brought millions in ex-pat money home which was then invested in the country. They took one look at the seizure of Russian state assets and said, "That could be me next." And Russia benefits.

Los Angeles DA and Soros puppet George Gascón ousted by voters over failed criminal justice reform policies

Californians fed up with soaring crime have overwhelmingly voted to replace Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, the so-called godfather of progressive prosecutors.

Gascón — who immediately introduced sweeping criminal justice reforms when elected in 2020 — got less than 40% of the vote as he lost to Nathan Hochman, a former federal prosecutor who campaigned against the controversial DA's "public safety failure" during his four years in office.

"The voters of Los Angeles County have spoken and have said enough is enough of D.A. Gascón's pro-criminal extreme policies; they look forward to a safer future," Hochman said in a statement early Wednesday.

"As D.A., I look forward to representing all of the people, whether they voted for me or not, since their safety will be my responsibility," he promised.
