Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis forced to shut down North Carolina store amid battle over massive American flags

The Camping World CEO claims he was forced to close down one of his North Carolina stores as he defied local politicians over the massive American flags flying over the locations.

Marcus Lemonis made the shocking revelation that one of the national RV dealerships in Greenville, NC, was shuttered on April 18.

Lemonis says he was forced to shut down operations at the smaller of the two locations after the city council sued him and the company for violating city ordinance with the larger-than-life flags, and continues to impose fines.

"We think the ordinance is wrong," Lemonis told local radio station WTIB, according to WITN. " I think it's also wrong council members have been working very actively to disparage my business and on Friday I had to consolidate modification of 2 dealerships in town."

Comment: Of all the things to pick an ordinance fight over, this is pretty petty. Don't the Greenville and Sevierville city councils have more pressing problems? How many people have been put out of work by those city officials?

Outsourcing war: British mercenaries now run America's front lines

Outsourcing war British mercenaries
This image was generated using AI technology.
G4S's mercenaries are everywhere - from the halls of American power to the darkest corners of detention centers

The British-American private military company Group 4 Securitas (G4S) has evolved far beyond its original mission of providing security for Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and Ukraine's critical infrastructure. Today, it resembles a quasi-state, complete with its own armed forces, prison systems, and global reach. G4S secures US embassies around the world, guards airports, government agencies, and military installations for both Washington and London, and even monitors sections of the US border.

Comment:
Out sourcing is very common. Many government and companies do it all the time. It would be strange if military and security was not one of the areas where this happens.

The article comes at a time when there have been car explosions killing a couple of high ranking people in Moscow. Perhaps it is only a coincidence. Be that what it is, below are a number of other articles related to G4S:

Pont-Saint-Esprit Plague
© Off-Guardian
On August 16, 1951, the quiet town of Pont-Saint-Esprit in southern France was struck by a bizarre outbreak. Residents suddenly experienced severe symptoms: nausea, insomnia, and vivid hallucinations.

People reported seeing terrifying visions — snakes crawling out of their stomachs, fire engulfing their bodies, or blood dripping from the walls of their homes. Some cases were extreme: an 11-year-old boy attempted to strangle his grandmother, a man jumped from a window claiming he was an airplane, and others were restrained in straitjackets or chained to their beds.

By the end, at least 5 people died (some sources say 7), dozens were institutionalized, and over 300 were affected.

I remember as a 13-year-old kid reading about this in some magazine (I recall it was LIFE, but I could never find it since). For some reason, it terrified me and lived with me in my memory for 50-plus years. Recently, one of my readers turned me on to the story, and much has been written about it rather recently by other researchers.

As I remember the story, the outbreak was linked to bread from a bakery run by a local baker. Doctors and investigators concluded that the rye flour used in the bread was contaminated with ergot (claviceps purpurea), a fungus known historically for causing ergotism, or "St. Anthony's Fire." Ergot contains alkaloids similar to LSD, which could explain the hallucinations. This explanation was published in the British Medical Journal shortly after the event and became the prevailing theory for decades.

However, in 2009, Hank P. Albarelli Jr. reignited interest in the case with his book, A Terrible Mistake: The Murder of Frank Olson and the CIA's Secret Cold War Experiments, claiming the incident was not a natural occurrence but a deliberate CIA experiment. While researching the death of Frank Olson — a CIA biochemist who died in 1953 under suspicious circumstances after working on LSD-related projects — Albarelli uncovered documents suggesting the agency had spiked the town's food with LSD as part of its Cold War mind-control program, MKULTRA (or its precursor, Project SPAN).

One key piece of evidence was a CIA memo labelled "Re: Pont-Saint-Esprit and F. Olson Files. SO Span/France Operation file, inclusive Olson. Intel files. Hand carry to Belin - tell him to see to it that these are buried," which implied a cover-up. Another document reportedly transcribed a conversation between a CIA agent and a Sandoz Pharmaceutical official (Sandoz being the Swiss company that first synthesized LSD), where the official hinted that the outbreak was caused by diethylamide (the "D" in LSD), not ergot.

Albarelli argued that the CIA, in collaboration with the U.S. Army's Special Operations Division at Fort Detrick, might have sprayed LSD into the air or contaminated local food to test its potential as a weapon for behavioural control. This theory aligns with known CIA activities during the 1950s, when the agency conducted numerous LSD experiments on unwitting subjects, including American servicemen and civilians.

Wouldn't it figure, eh?

Arkansas appeals Trump administration denial of federal aid for tornado recovery

Arkansas is appealing the Trump administration's denial of federal aid for the state's recovery efforts after a string of deadly and destructive tornado storms. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-Ark.) requested help for people who were impacted by the mid-March tornadoes, some of the state's worst since 1997.

The Trump administration denied Sanders's request for funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She wrote again to Trump to appeal the denial.

In a letter, signed by both Arkansas senators and its four representatives, the lawmakers asked Trump to reconsider.
"As Governor Sanders noted in her request, these storms caused catastrophic damage across the state, resulting in disastrous amounts of debris, widespread destruction to homes and businesses, the deaths of three Arkansans, and injuries to many more."

Comment: Based on the FEMA non-response to North Carolina's hurricane, it is not without reason its 'service' is in elimination. President Trump and First Lady Melania saw first-hand the magnitude of disaster and FEMA's lack of commitment to fulfill its purpose. Replacement assistance is critical as emergencies increase in numbers and magnitude.

More from the Arkansas Advocate:
Brian Hughes, a spokesman for the National Security Council, which advises the president on issues of national security, said:
"The Federal Government focuses its support on truly catastrophic disasters — massive hurricanes, devastating earthquakes, or wide-scale attacks on the homeland. State and local governments often remain an impediment to their own community's resilience."
Hughes called on states to take on a more extensive role:
"States must have adequate emergency management staff, adoption and enforcement of modern building codes, responsible planning and strategic investment to reduce future risk, commonsense policies that prioritize preparedness over politics, disaster reserve funds to handle what should be routine emergencies, pre-negotiated mutual aid and contingency contracts that speed up recovery, and above all, an appetite to own the problem."
Hughes said Trump has promptly authorized "life-saving emergency support to states during and in the immediate aftermath of disasters."

Michael Coen,
who served as chief of staff at FEMA during the Obama and Biden administrations, said:
"The president has 'broad discretion' to approve or deny disaster requests, regardless of whether they meet specified conditions. If Trump intends to curtail federal support, he should give states clear guidelines if they're expected to build emergency management programs to take on what the feds once handled. Not all states have the capacity to replicate those functions. And disasters are expected to increase in frequency and severity because of climate change."
Meanwhile, FEMA has said it will no longer match 100% of North Carolina's spending to recover from September's Hurricane Helene. Democratic Gov. Josh Stein said the cost share was crucial to the state's efforts to rebuild. FEMA should give states a clear outline of the role it will play.
"The need in western North Carolina remains immense — people need debris removed, homes rebuilt, and roads restored. I am extremely disappointed and urge the President to reconsider FEMA's bad decision, even for 90 days."

'Fact-checking' was always just censorship

censorship fact checking
© ReadyElements/Pixabay
But polls show Americans could see through it

Legacy media and Big Tech colluded with so-called "fact-checkers" to censor Americans' speech for years — from Covid-19 to the Hunter Biden laptop story to the 2020 election to former President Joe Biden's mental decline. Now, these self-appointed arbiters of speech are losing power because the public can see through their lies.

Mentions of "misinformation" and "disinformation" — the left's favorite terms for disapproved speech — on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News have apparently dropped to the lowest levels since 2020, according to Axios. "Professional fact-checking went mainstream during the first Trump administration, but it's since become politicized," Sara Fischer wrote for Axios.

The outlet should know, as it has engaged in repeated propaganda operations under the guise of "fact-checking." After reporting former Vice President Kamala Harris was "appointed by Biden as border czar," Axios tried to fact-check Republicans, claiming "she never actually had" the title. As The Federalist previously reported, this is the same outlet whose co-founders demanded now-President Donald Trump apologize for getting shot in the head.

Comment: More on the Global Engagement Center and its fall from grace. Not a moment too soon.: The sooner the Smith-Mundt Act is brought back, the better. Obama's repeal of the ban on domestic government propaganda has done a huge amount of harm to the U.S. social fabric:

French veterans demand disclosure on Ukraine involvement

A group of retired officers, including over two dozen generals, has urged Parliament to debate troop presence and lethal aid for Kiev

A group of high-ranking French veterans has called for increased oversight of the country's military involvement in Ukraine.

In a letter sent to the heads of both houses of Parliament, the former officers urged lawmakers to hold a formal debate on weapons supplies and the continued presence of French troops bolstering Kiev's war efforts.

The letter, titled the 'Citizen Resolution', was published earlier this week on Place d'Armes, a platform for current and former service members to express views on national policy. It included a public call for citizens to sign the resolution in support.

Comment: At the time of posting, there are according to the Place d'Armes site, 19,705 signatures.

The webpage has a one page introduction, followed by a proposed resolution, which machine translated from French goes like this.
Proposed resolution :We, the citizens and military veterans, ask that members and senators :
1. To be published in the official Journal, all the information on the presence of French troops in Ukraine since 2022, as required by article 35 ;
2. Organize a debate followed by a vote on the continuation of this intervention, in application of article 35 ;
3. To decide on the ratification of the security agreements franco-Ukrainian February 16, 2024, pursuant to article 53 ;
4. To put this resolution on the agenda within 15 days of its delivery in order to guarantee the full exercise of parliamentary control.
It is not guaranteed anything will come out of it. One issue is that it could stir similiar requests in other European countries, and justifiably so, but the top levels of several governments, and also the EU are invested in the Ukraine proxy war.

What options do the French Government have?
They can ignore it, similar to how a few malcontent doctors were ignored during COVID. They can change the approach and shift gears, making another subject the talk of the day, similar to how COVID was washed away by the headlines about Ukraine, incidentally among the latest news are WHO finalizes pandemic treaty.
They can double down and make the show of boots on the ground official, but without addressing the years long prelude alluded to in the intro to the resolution.
They could also support the peace initiatives that the Trump administration began, but judging from the headlines over the last two months, that appears to be off the table for now. A question could be what drives the current push for continued conflict, are some levels of Government moved by forces they do not completely understand?

In France, there have been much discussion about the increase of the retirement age, about the need to save money on the budget, but the aid to Ukraine and any involvement? It is symptomatic that there are still less than 20,000 signatures.

At least 26 people were killed in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, when gunmen fired at them at close range, according to media reports citing sources in Indian police.

The terrorist group The Resistance Front (TRF), which is believed to be linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Comment: That, right there, is a 'tell' that a 'hidden hand' was behind this atrocity. It's interesting that it occurred the day after US Vice-President Vance was Indian PM Modi's guest in New Delhi...

Local media reported that the gunmen checked the identity cards of the victims, and asked about their religion before killing them. According to Indian police, four gunmen carried out the attack. The injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

"Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice... they will not be spared," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on X. "Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger."

Comment: And now India has responded strongly, ordering "all Pakistani nationals" staying in India on visas to "leave the country within 48 hours..."

That could be millions of people...

Massive explosions reported in Russia's Vladimir Region

Kirzhach explosion
Massive explosions have been reported on Tuesday near the town of Kirzhach in Russia's Vladimir Region, some 75 km northeast of Moscow. The blasts are said to have taken place at a munitions depot. Local authorities have announced a state of emergency in the district and blocked the roads leading to the area.

Аt around 3:30 pm, residents of nearby villages reported a series of powerful explosions and began posting videos of a huge cloud of smoke rising towards the sky which could be seen from over a dozen kilometers away.

Russia's Defense Ministry has since confirmed that a fire had broken out on the territory of a military unit in the region, which caused the detonation of ammunition. In 2022 several Russian servicemen were killed in an accidental detonation at a military facility in the same region near the village of Barsovo

Moldovan authorities 'intimidating' largest Christian church - opposition

Several parties have demanded an explanation for why a senior cleric has been prevented from attending Easter ceremonies

Moldova's opposition parties have accused the pro-EU government of waging a pressure campaign against the country's largest Christian church. The outrage follows an incident in which border police blocked Marchel, the Bishop of Balti and Falesti, from traveling to Easter celebrations in Jerusalem.
"The authorities are increasing their pressure on the Moldovan Metropolis," the Pobeda - Victorie Bloc, a coalition of opposition parties, said in a statement on Telegram on Saturday.

"What are Orthodox worshippers witnessing during Holy Week? Instead of respect for their faith - a show of force. Instead of calm and prayer - barricades, police, and intimidation."
Marchel had intended to participate in the Holy Fire ritual at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which is traditionally held around midday on Holy Saturday. According to the cleric, police first stopped and searched him at Chisinau Airport on Thursday, returning his passport only after his flight had departed. He said he was "unjustifiably" prevented from boarding another plane on Friday.
