'Sex Week' at Harvard show nobody's safe from the woke inquisition

One of America's most exclusive universities has stained its reputation by hosting workshops on subjects far detached from academic excellence. In fact, the classes serve to teach us how far Western civilization is in decline.

Founded in 1636, Harvard is the oldest and most prestigious university in the United States. Despite its humble origins (the Puritan clergyman John Harvard, upon his deathbed, bequeathed the fledgling college his estate and a 400-volume library), it has gone on to become a veritable superpower in the field of learning. Yet it looks as though it is willing to throw it all away just to appease the mob.

For anyone who thinks that Harvard is simply too smart and snobbish to genuflect at the altar of identity politics, cancel culture, and the other woke deities now strangling the soul out of Western civilization, they've probably never heard of its annual 'Sex Week', an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord devoted to every perversity under the sun.

New documents shed light on Jeffrey Epstein's time in jail

Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein denied having suicidal thoughts before apparently hanging himself, though prison staff had observed signs of worrying behavior, according to newly released prison documents.

Epstein, who committed suicide by hanging in prison two years ago, denied being suicidal. The recent documents from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), obtained by The New York Times and CNN, construct a detailed timeline of the lead up to Epstein's death. Risk factors for suicide 'specific to sex offenders' as well more general risk factors were likely present, documents show.

Epstein was described by a facilities assistant as "distraught, sad, and a little confused" when he arrived at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in July 2019. He was seen as "dazed and withdrawn," despite claiming he felt fine and denying suicidal thoughts in a routine intake screening.

New German government to legalize cannabis

The agreement between Germany's Social Democrats, Free Democrats and the Greens includes provisions for decriminalizing marijuana consumption. It was confirmed on Wednesday by German news, who obtained the text of the document.

Reports say that the government will set up a system of "controlled distribution of cannabis to adults" for recreational consumption through licenced shops.

"The coalition wants to impose strict control of the product to ensure its quality and 'protection of minors,'" the agreement says.

The plan to 'traffic light coalition' to legalize recreational cannabis was leaked last week to German media by sources in all three parties. Medicinal marijuana has been legal in the EU since 2017.

A 13-year-old metal detectorist is scaring off veteran diggers after she found a "once in a lifetime" Bronze Age axe hoard on just her third dig.

Milly Hardwick, who is in Year Eight at school, has left the competition envious of her "beginner's luck" as she strikes gold almost every week. She's now become a poster girl for metal detecting despite being some four decades younger than the typical detectorist.

Mum Claire, 48, said: "On a couple of digs people have gone 'Oh God, she's here now so we might as well go home'."

Milly, from Mildenhall, Suffolk, made an astounding discovery of an axe hoard dating back to 1300 BC on just her third time out in a field near Royston, Herts. Archaeologists had to excavate the find, made up of 65 pieces, and Amelia took a day off school to formally sign it over to the local coroner.

The Illinois Democrat who called the Waukesha massacre "karma" for Kyle Rittenhouse's acquittal lost her job over the comments. Mary Lemanski tweeted out "It was probably just self-defense" after the news broke that a man had driven his car into a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisc.

Lemanski, who has since deleted the tweet, was the social media director for the Democratic Party in DuPage County, Ill. She also tweeted "You reap what you sow. It's sad people died, but when you open the door to vigilante justice, everyone seems threatening."

Offenders whose crimes lead to the death of an emergency service worker in the line of duty will receive mandatory life sentences under a new law brought about after the death of a police officer, Andrew Harper.

The ruling, announced by the government, follows a two-year campaign by Lissie Harper, whose husband was killed while answering a late-night burglary call. She previously said she was "outraged" by the sentences handed to the three teenagers responsible for his death.

The new legislation, named Harper's law, will make it on to the statute books through an amendment to the existing police, crime, sentencing and courts bill, and is likely to take effect early next year.

Comment: It seems rather odd to focus on emergency workers, and one would have thought that any court ruling should take all information into account and the verdict be based on the specific situation. Although, it's notable that over in France a 'global security bill' recently passed - despite protests and significant opposition - where, amongst a raft of various other new laws, police officers were granted a particular special status. Insanity: Santa Cruz county will require masks in private homes

Santa Cruz County, California, is imposing an indoor mask mandate beginning Sunday night which requires residents to wear masks in private settings, including homes, regardless of vaccination status.

The mandate applies to gatherings of those who live in a different homes but meet together in one location, and it was imposed in light of rising COVID-19 cases in the area, according to ABC 7.

Bay Area COVID-19 cases are still lower than they were during summer surges, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. "Unfortunately, a potential winter surge appears to be a significant threat to the health and safety of our community," said Dr. Gail Newel, Santa Cruz County's health officer, according to the Chronicle.

Pupils' yellow badges for mask exemption spark Nazi comparisons

A British boarding school has asked pupils to wear a yellow badge if they are exempt from a face mask mandate introduced in classrooms and corridors following a rise in Covid-19 cases.

In a letter to parents, David Jackson, the headmaster of Farringtons School in Kent, said the institution had decided to reintroduce the compulsory wearing of face masks in classrooms and other confined areas within the senior school.

The measures would be in place "until further notice" amid the increasing number of Covid-19 cases. Jackson added that students exempt from the public school's rules on masks would be asked to "wear a yellow badge to indicate this."

The move has come under fire from a parent group who claimed that the Kent school, which charges £34,050 ($45,500) per year for boarders, has made a "deeply inappropriate" request by asking students to wear yellow badges.

CVS, Walgreens and Walmart pharmacies recklessly distributed massive amounts of pain pills in two Ohio counties, a federal jury said Tuesday in a verdict that could set the tone for U.S. city and county governments that want to hold pharmacies accountable for their roles in the opioid crisis.

Lake and Trumbull counties blamed the three chain pharmacies for not stopping the flood of pills that caused hundreds of overdose deaths and cost each of the two counties about $1 billion, their attorney said.

How much the pharmacies must pay in damages will be decided in the spring by a federal judge.

It was the first time pharmacy companies had completed a trial to defend themselves in a drug crisis that has killed a half-million Americans over the past two decades.

Tens of thousands crammed into Brussels' EU Quarter to let the European Commission know what they think about its rules
Europe descended into a third day of violent carnage on Sunday as tens of thousands of people in Belgium took to the streets to protest against the return of strict lockdown rules aimed at curbing a rise in Covid infections.

Nearly 40,000 people descended on the capital Brussels to protest against new anti-Covid measures banning the unvaccinated from entering restaurants and bars.

Some protesters were seen throwing projectiles at riot police and in response, officers fired water cannon and tear gas at the group. Police have made some arrests, but it is not immediately clear how many.

Video footage from Brussels shows a large group of protesters shouting at police as some light flares and throw them at the officers. One man can even be seen mooning at them.

The protests descended into chaos, with some of the protesters seen setting fires on the streets while others threw rocks through the windows of local businesses including a post office. Two police cars have also been damaged.
