Pentagon promises U.S. troops on the ground in Syria 'very soon'

US Envoy to the US-led anti-ISIL coalition said that the country plans to deploy its ground special forces to Syria very soon.

The US State Department's anti-ISIL coalition envoy Brett McGurk told CBS News that the 50 US Army Special Forces troops are scheduled to go into Syria "very soon."

According to McGurk, it is now possible to attack ISIL's headquarters in Syria's Raqqa, which is colloquially referred to as a "capital" of the Islamic State organization. McGurk added that the US views Russia's participation in the conflict against ISIL positively.

Comment: Interesting that McGurk says Special Forces are going in 'very soon' when there are reports that they've been there for a number of weeks:

Propaganda

Fox aired fake news tying ISIS to the Paris attacks

fox paris isis
Fox News peddles fake story immediately establishing ISIS link to Paris attacks.
Remember those early reports from the Paris attack coverage which claimed that a terrorist 'suspect' had been arrested at the Bataclan theater and told police "I am from ISIS"? The story spread like wildfire on neocon and kosher conservative blogs, Jihad Watch, Breitbart and Infowars chief among them, but originated from a Fox News live report which was a bit more detailed, stating:
"There is one man who has been arrested in Paris tonight. Arrested by French authorities who told French authorities 'I am from ISIS.' I now have further information: that suspect has just told French police within the last hour or so, 'I am Syrian, I was here with two others, we were recruited by ISIS and this is ... an ISIS mission.' [The man] was quoted from inside the [Bataclan] theater saying, 'This is for Syria. Allahu Akbar.'"
Considering that no suspects were taken into custody alive that day - all were said to have been killed by police or by suicide (the Guardian, for instance, tells us: "Eight attackers also died, police say, seven of them by detonating explosive suicide belts") - this story, originating with the cartoonish neocon propaganda outlet Fox News, is brazenly planted disinformation. So who was this mysterious apprehended 'suspect' that conveniently handed the news media a perfect sound-bite to immediately link the Paris attacks to Syria and ISIS? Clearly a phantom created by the media itself to do just that - instantly point the finger of culpability at a predetermined fall guy, in this case ISIS, and seal that rumor in the public's consciousness where it now remains etched in stone.

Comment: At the very least this shows just how unreliable news reporting is, especially surrounding terror events. And it's not over. Every day brings a new contradiction. Female suicide bomber; no female suicide bomber. Shooters arrested, then released. White guys shooting; only Arabs shooting. And on and on it goes.

'Terror mastermind' Abaaoud seen 'drinking and smoking weed' in St-Denis bar after attacks

The apparent architect of the Paris attacks was reportedly seen on the streets of Paris shortly after the atrocities, smoking cannabis and drinking with a group of men, witnesses have claimed.

Amel Alla, whose mother lives near the Saint-Denis flat in which Abdelhamid Abaaoud died during a police raid on Wednesday, said she often saw the group of men outside.

"I saw him in Muslim dress, down at the building with all these guys, perhaps eight or 10 of them," the estate agent told Sky News.

Ms Alla, who claims Abaaoud was wearing "Islamic dress" while his companions were dressed "in normal clothes", said she only recognised the Paris attacker after she watched television with her sister that evening.

"I am 99.9 per cent sure it was him, it is crazy."

"They were there like smoking joints and drinking beers - they are often in the street so I know them, I know them."

Jean-Jacques, who gave only his first name, also said he had seen Abaaoud. "He was sitting in the street with a bottle of whisky and he offered some to me."

Comment: Curious behavior for an alleged fanatic Muslim who had just masterminded a large attack in Paris just days before.

A video displayed by an Arab news website showed that a long convoy of the ISIL terrorists' military vehicles was going on a Highway towards the battlefield with the aerial back up of a US Army Apache helicopter.

The UAE-based al-Sa'a displayed a video clip of over 200 Toyota vans carrying the flag and members of the ISIL terrorist group driving on one of the main highways of Syria while an Apache chopper of US military was accompanying them in a friendly manner.

The Arab media outlet reported that the ISIL convoy did not open fire at the US chopper, which was flying in a very low altitude.

'Special Operation' in Brussels, several arrests in Charleroi

Belgian security forces launched operations in Brussels on Sunday evening, local media has reported. Authorities asked the public not to report on their movements after a number of images showing heavy police presence were posted on social media

Using the hashtag #BrusselsLockdown, Belgian Defense Minister Steven Vandeput asked the public on Twitter "not to report their movements on social media."

"For safety, please observe radio silence on social media about ongoing police operations," police press-service posted on Twitter.

Several central streets in Brussels have been cordoned off, while another "large" police deployment was reported in the Etterbeek municipality near the capital.

Comment: We'll likely see more police state style raids and lockdowns like this in all western nations around the globe. Keep those eyes open!

The U.S.-ISIS connection smoking gun and US Centcom lies

Director of Intelligence James Clapper: Empire's protector of ISIS
"...there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist Principality in eastern Syria (Hasaka and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran)."
We've said it before, and we'll say it as many times as it takes for the naive, largely aloof American public to catch on: the quote excerpted above is the smoking gun when it comes to Washington's ISIS "strategy."

Note that no tin foil hats or conspiracy theories are needed. The passage shown above is from a 2012 declassified Pentagon report on the situation in Syria (you can read it in full here). What it says is that US intelligence was well aware of the possibility that Sunni extremists working to destabilize the Assad government might move to establish a proto-state in eastern Syria based around orthodox, ultra-conservative, Sunni Islam. It also says "the supporting powers to the opposition" (i.e. the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey) would be delighted with such an outcome as it would "isolate" Assad on the way to dealing a strategic death blow to Iran's Shiite crescent (i.e. Tehran's regional ambitions). That's the only possible interpretation of the quote shown above and it's completely consistent with the information contained in a leaked diplomatic cable sent in 2006 by acting Deputy Chief of Mission in Syria William Roebuck which contained the following "advice" on how to go about destabilizing the Assad government:

Comment: Much of the U.S. public still thinks that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction or a hand in 911! The likelihood of the information in the above article making its way to mass awareness therefore seems unlikely any time soon. But even a small percentage of informed people could have some benefits in the wider scheme of things - so share the knowledge!

The one thing Americans need to know about ISIS

we the people
Long before the Islamic State existed on the ground, it existed in this now declassified 2012 Defense Intelligence Agency memo which discusses not only its potential rise, supported by the Western countries, the Gulf States and Turkey, but the fact that the government knew full well that supporting the opposition to the Assad regime in Syria leading to the rise of ISIS could also potentially lead to a proxy war with Russia, China, and Iran.

Truthstream Media breaks it down here. Americans need to wake up.

Inside Putin's massive new military control center

russia command center
Seemingly pulled right from a James Bond movie, we got a glimpse this week of Russia's new super military nerve center in action, called the National Defense Control Center (NDCC), as Russian heavy bombers made their combat debut in the Syrian conflict. This was also the first time the venerable Tu-95 Bears or the Tu-160 Blackjacks would see combat.

The video below was released by the Russian government and media apparatus showing the center supposedly at work, with a montage of the heavy bomber's mission being displayed on a massive screen. The video may have also inadvertently shown that Russia has ground artillery units far outside of its forward operating outpost south of the Syrian port city of Latakia, something that the Russian Ministry of Defense still denies.

This immense military command and control headquarters was built incredibly fast, in under two years, out of an existing Ministry of Defense complex located along the Moskva River, just a mile and a half south of the Kremlin. Claimed by the Russian press to be "more powerful than the Pentagon," this facility houses multiple new command and control assembly areas, all supposedly hardened from external attacks.

Additionally, a labyrinth of underground tunnels, transportation routes and facilities are said to exist below the sprawling compound. Three helicopter pads, one of which is floating, are used to move Russia's military and political elite to and from the series of buildings. The centerpiece of this updated complex is a truly impressive and giant central atrium built out of glass and steel.

Comment: With facilities like this, it's no wonder ISIS didn't stand a chance!

Mush-for-brains US State Dept: 'Russia must change strategy in Syria to join our anti-ISIL coalition'

Obama and Putin
© www.businessinsider.comObama and Putin: Coalition? On whose terms?
Russia is not welcome to join the US-led coalition in Syria, as France has proposed, until it changes its "focus" and stops "propping up" President Assad, the US State Department said. Yet, Washington continues to insist their goal isn't defeating Assad.

"If other nations not in the coalition [the US-led coalition] want to join it and become part of it and focus on the fight against ISIL [Islamic State/IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL] that's a conversation we're certainly willing to have," US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said.

An appeal to expand the US-led coalition fighting Islamic State came from French President Francois Hollande three days after deadly attacks in Paris a week ago. Stating that "France is at war," Hollande called for the creation of a "large coalition," which could unite forces with Russia "to achieve a result that has taken too long."

Comment: The anti-ISIL aspect of the US-led coalition has primarily been an ongoing disinformation battle for the minds and support of Western publics. This becomes clearer every day that Russia displays true expertise and real success. Given a choice, whose coalition would you join?

France confirms Russia has intensified its airstrikes against ISIS

Russia's stance on Syria changed after it was directly attacked by ISIL, according to France's Defense Minister.

According to French Defense Minister Jean Yves Le Drian, Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft have been launching significant strikes against the Islamic State positions in Syria.

"Russia's stance on Syria has changed... It was dealt a serious blow by the Islamic State... Now Russia launches significant strikes against ISIL positions," Le Drian told Europe1 radio station.

On September 30, Russian military aircraft began executing precision strikes against ISIL forces in Syria at the behest of Syrian President Bashar Assad. Since the beginning of the airborne campaign Russian aircraft have carried out over 2,000 sorties, destroying about 3,000 ISIL targets and eliminating hundreds of militants.

The warships of Russian Caspian Flotilla also launched a series of cruise missile strikes against the ISIL assets in Syria. On Tuesday Russian Aerospace Forces intensified their campaign in Syria, launching massive airstrikes against ISIL forces.
