Senior Pakistani military spokesman Asim Bajwa said at a Thursday news conference in the city of Rawalpindi that Daesh terrorists had made inroads into Pakistan, however, their expansion has been stopped by the Pakistani army. "The reverse process has begun now as Pakistani society has refused to accept the militant phenomena," Bajwa said.

Bajwa's statement is a rare acknowledgement of the presence of Daesh in the country, as earlier it was claimed that there was no extremist footprint in Pakistan. "At the start of Zarb-e-Azb Operation, Pakistan was plagued with terrorism and militancy, but Army successfully eliminated terrorism from their epicenters," Bajwa said.

It was reported that 309 militants, including members from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, were seized by Pakistani security forces. Attacks on embassies, on Pakistani officials and on an airport in Islamabad by Daesh operatives have been foiled, according to the military spokesman.

Comment: The situation in Kyber isn't tranquil yet: Bomb Attack On Pakistani Court Kills 13 (Sept. 3)
At least 13 people were killed and 50 wounded in a bomb attack on a district court in northwestern Pakistan. Haris Habib, the chief rescue officer in the city of Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, said on September 2 that the bodies of police, lawyers, and others were recovered.

Reports say the attacker first threw a grenade at the court entrance and then blew himself up at the main gate. Some of the wounded are reportedly in critical condition. A spokesman for the extremist Muslim group Jamat ul-Ahrar, an offshoot of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the bombing would "not shatter our unflinching resolve in our war against terrorism. These receding elements are showing frustration by attacking our soft targets. They shall not get space to hide in Pakistan," he said in a statement.

Mardan city police official Faisal Shahzad described the attack to Radio Mashaal. "[The suicide attacker] was intercepted by police at the walk-through gate of the session courts...[and] threw a hand-grenade at the policemen, who [were] injured in the blast. The injured policemen opened fire and chased him." He said one policeman shot him dead and that the attacker's suicide belt exploded at that time.

Israel prepares for first-ever ICC visit, but insists ICC has no authority in Israel, because Palestine doesn't exist

gaza
© Mohammed Salem / ReutersPalestinians place a red carpet between the ruins of houses, that witnesses said were destroyed by Israeli shelling during a 50-day war last summer, before they display a film on the war in the east of Gaza City May 12, 2015.
Israel has reportedly agreed to allow the first-ever visit of an ICC delegation which, at the request of Palestinians, is seeking to launch a probe into alleged war crimes based on the 2014 Gaza war. Israel, however, made it clear the court has no real "jurisdiction."

Israel claimed it would allow a working group from the International Criminal Court (ICC) into the country stressing the court is not eligible for conducting a probe into the 2014 Gaza war, an Israeli official said on Friday. The upcoming visit would be unprecedented, he told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The Hague-based ICC has been considering opening a probe into possible crimes committed by Israelis in the 2014 Gaza conflict for over a year since it was put forward by Palestinian authorities. Israel, however, says the court does not have the right to intervene.

OLYMPICS

Sports Minister Mutko says the WADA report was "falsified" and that Moscow would file lawsuits against the "accusers." High time Russia struck back; it has had some success in the Western court system. The ridiculousYUKOS shareholder judgement was reversed for example. While accusations of "probably" can be thrown around ad libitum, actual courts don't want to set precedents that may bite them later.

PUTIN DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

Putin's campaign to become US President is attracting a lot of attention. Here's another American opinion sector he controls. I think he's a shoo-in, don't you? My August collection of PDS will be out tomorrow.

American "journalist" was a spy embedded with al-Qaeda - media not interested

snell
U.S. "journalist" Lindsey Snell
On August 9 we reported here on a U.S. spy, Lindsey Snell, who worked with Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria and was arrested when crossing the border from Syria into Turkey:
The Turkish military recently "rescued" a CIA spy who was wounded in the north Latakia region of Syria. The U.S. send helicopters to help its asset. The spy turned out to be journalist Lindsey Snell working on a report with Nusra for the intelligence outfit Vocativ. She was put into Turkish jail for illegally crossing the border.
There is no doubt from the available information that Snell was a spy. The Turkish media call her such. She was with Nusra, not for the first time, had some trouble and needed to get out. The U.S. military launched a huge operation to help her. That is not the treatment a real journalist would get.

Comment: Check out this tweet from Snell, August 5:

Just what exactly was Snell up to, embedded with the CIA's moderate jihadis? And what led to her apparent change in fortune?

Washington has deployed mobile rocket artillery in the south of Turkey in order to target Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants in Syria, a special US envoy said on Saturday. This is the first reported rocket strikes delivered by US into Syria.

The US forces hit IS positions close to the Syrian border with Turkey last night, having launched the attack on terrorists with a "newly deployed" High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), the US-led anti-IS coalition's special presidential envoy, Brett McGurk said on Twitter.

The American embassy in Turkey confirmed the HIMARS deployment, calling it "the latest step in US-Turkey cooperation" in fighting the terror group in the region.

Big surprise: Media silent regarding George Soros' hidden hand in U.S. internal affairs

Soros
When the hacktivist group calling themselves DCLeaks released "restricted" documents it obtained from the Internet servers of the Open Society Foundation of George Soros, none of the major so-called watchdog media mentioned it. And yet, those documents revealed more than 50 regional and global initiatives and well-funded programs designed to influence major policy decisions around the world, as well as in the United States.

DCLeaks describes itself as
a new level project aimed to analyze and publish a large amount of emails from top-ranking officials and their influence agents all over the world.

The project was launched by the American hacktivists who respect and appreciate freedom of speech, human rights and government of the people....

We believe U.S. citizens have the right to know how domestic and foreign policies of the United States are shaped and who the real policy maker is.
In many cases that "real policy maker" is George Soros, the billionaire progressive activist with a sordid background of aiding all manner of radical and extremist elements around the globe. AS DCLeaks noted:
The selection [of Soros' servers' documents] shed[s] light on one of the most influential networks operating worldwide. [It] counts more than 50 global and regional programs and foundations. Soros is named as the architect and sponsor of almost every revolution and coup around the world for the last 25 years.
And yet, not a single member of the fourth estate has picked up the story.

Comment: Soros' machinations dovetail nicely with the Empire's agenda of fomenting global chaos to obtain world hegemony, therefore the elites and their lapdog media would have nothing to gain by exposing his subversive activities, no matter what political party he represents.

The Egyptian president underscored that it is crucial for any political settlement to preserve a country's unity and territorial integrity.

Egypt believes that it is crucial for any political settlement to preserve the countries' unity, territorial integrity, national institutions and resources," Sisi told The Hindu newspaper in an interview.

The Washington Post establishes itself, once again, as an establishment mouthpiece in its caricature of Jill Stein

Jill Stein
Dr. Jill Stein, presumptive Green Party presidential nominee, waves at a rally in Philadelphia, Wednesday, July 27, 2016, during the third day of the Democratic National Convention.
The Washington Post editorial board held a meeting with Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on August 25. For a Republican or Democratic presidential nominee, this is standard. For a third-party candidate like Stein, the fact that the Post met with her is quite an accomplishment. However, the editorial board crassly attacked her immediately after the meeting.

Like the town hall broadcast on CNN, the meeting offered Stein an all-too-rare opportunity to reach Americans, who may not know she is running for president.

Stein has consistently emphasized the fact that lack of "free primetime media" has a lot to do with why she is only polling three percent. Donald Trump received around $2 billion worth of "free primetime media" during the primary. Hillary Clinton received close to a billion dollars. Bernie Sanders received nearly half of what Clinton received. This kind of media is how citizens get to know who is out there for them to support.

IMF warns Serbia not to overspend despite strong recovery

Serbia and IMF meeting
Serbia's growth could pick up further next year after strong performance in the first half pointed to a faster-than-expected recovery, the International Monetary Fund said on Friday, but warned the government against the temptation to overspend.

In its quarterly review, the IMF said it was crucial the country press on with public sector structural reforms as part of its 1.2 billion euro loan agreement in order not to derail a strong recovery.

"Potential growth could be doubled by the end of the programme period," country representative Sebastian Sosa told reporters, adding that public sector companies and utilities needed further streamlining.

Comment: Serbia has been inching closer toward China lately. Don't worry, the IMF plans on keeping them in chains.

After denying WWII Roma concentration camp existence - Czech minister apologizes

Czech Finance Minister Andrej Babis had to offer his apologies after he said that a Roma Nazi concentration camp was a labor camp, provoking a wave of public criticism.

"There were times when all Roma worked. What these morons write in newspapers, that Lety was a concentration camp, is a lie, it was a work camp. Whoever did not work, whoosh and he was there," Babis said on Wednesday , speaking to the residents of the northern Czech town of Varnsdorf on a campaign stop for regional elections scheduled for October. Babis is also the country's Deputy prime minister and the founder and leader of the centrist and populist ANO political party.
