Hacked emails link Erdogan family and Turkish minister to illicit ISIS oil

In late September, a Turkish hacker group, RedHack, released the emails of Berat Albayrak, Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and the son-in-law of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Hackers have claimed that they downloaded around 20 gigabytes of data from Albayrak's email accounts. As the group started to release the emails through social media, controversial issues have been brought to the surface once again.

The Turkish government was quick to react, immediately issuing a court order prohibiting the release of the hacked emails and their publication in the media. The issuance of the court order, however, lends credence to the authenticity of the leaked emails. One of the most contentious issues uncovered with the leaked email communications and documents was the transfer of oil controlled by the so-called Islamic State and the Erdoğan family's involvement via a company named Powertrans.

After Turkish military shot down a Russian war plane on Nov. 24, 2015, tensions between Turkey and Russia increased. The Russian government imposed sanctions to Turkey, banned tourism, and halted trade between two countries, in addition to releasing satellite images and other documents allegedly providing evidence for oil trade between Turkey and the Islamic State. The Russian defense ministry accused Erdoğan and his family of direct involvement in this illegal oil trade. In response, Erdogan vowed to resign if Russia's claims were true.

Comment: Just like oil, poke a hole and the truth seeps out. How will Erdogan refute this claim and will he make good on his statement to Russia to resign if his family was involved? Surely he knew. Russia did.

Russia denies involvement in assassination plot against Montenegro's PM

While there are Russian nationals among the suspects behind alleged planned attacks on Montenegro's PM, Moscow is not involved in the matter, a Montenegrin prosecutor said. The Kremlin confirmed no official requests in connection with the investigation had been received.

There have been no official inquiries from the capital, Podgorica, with regards to the alleged coup attempt during Montenegro's parliamentary elections back in October, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday. Answering a question about whether Montenegro authorities had filed any requests for comments or evidence in connection with the investigation, Peskov said the Kremlin had received none, adding he wasn't aware "if there has been any to the intelligence services."

The statement comes a day after the Montenegrin special prosecutor for organized crime, Milivoje Katnic accused a "powerful organization" of attempting to assassinate Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic. The official said the group consisted of 50 people from Montenegro, Serbia and Russia, but added that there was no data directly linking Moscow to the planned attack.

Geopolitical 9/11 - Trumpquake

Trump and Family
© Reuters/Mike SegarU.S. President-elect Donald Trump, along with his family and running mate Mike Pence, addresses supporters during his election night rally in Manhattan, New York, U.S., November 9, 2016.
What has just happened in the "indispensable nation" is nothing less than a geopolitical 9/11.

With, of course, a major twist. The suicide bomber sneaked out of the successful attack - which was meant to decimate virtually the whole War Party/neocon-neoliberalcon/Wall Street/think tank/corporate media establishment.

And then, out of left field, when no one saw him coming, he reappeared, trumping it all.

Internal geopolitics was key - as in the Trump campaign rust belt strategy mastering geography, demography and the rudiments of class struggle to effectively shatter the much-vaunted Democrat blue wall.

For all the requiems — "American tragedy" downwards - there won't be armed revolution in the US. There won't be civil war. The "deplorables" may have given a collective finger to the liquid modernity elites - but there will be no vengeful victory laps.

And geopolitically - and that's what matters to the whole world — there will be no Warmonger-in-Chief.

A new era of unpredictability awaits with President Elect Trump

President Elect Trump is new title for New York businessman, millionaire and Republican candidate Donald J. Trump, who yesterday on November 8th, 2016 successfully won the US presidential election. Trump managed to defeat favorite Hillary Clinton by a relatively narrow margin.

The victory came as a shock to many Americans, regardless of where they reside on the political spectrum. For many in the alternative media, the victory of President Elect Trump comes with a great sense of relief that career criminal Hillary Clinton was not elected (or installed) as so many had expected. Clinton had already showed a propensity to collude, cheat and lie during the Democratic Primaries where she triumphed with dirty tactics over Bernie Sanders. For many others, turned off by Trump's racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and generally flippant comments, the Trump victory is devastating and will challenge them psychologically and emotionally to accept the reality for the results.

World leaders react to Trump win with congratulations and shock

Politicians all over the world are reacting as Donald Trump has become president-elect of the United States. Some are congratulating him, while others are in shock.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has become one of the first global leaders to congratulate Trump with the victory, expressing hope that the two countries will continue collaborative work on international issues.

Japan's Prime Minister Abe congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the presidential election and described the alliance between the two countries as "unwavering".

"I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your election as the next President of the United States of America. Japan and the United States are unwavering allies tied firmly with the bond of universal values [...] I very much look forward to closely cooperating with you to further strengthen the bond of the Japan-US Alliance, as well as for our two countries to play leading roles for assuring peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region," he stated in the message to Trump.

Comment: As RT put it, "Leaders around the world who previously spoke out against Donald Trump now face the unenviable task of swallowing their pride and issuing grudging congratulations to the president-elect to ensure continuing good relations with the US." A small sampling of the large amount crow currently being eaten:
"I consider Donald Trump a man who invests a lot in a policy of fear," Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said back in April. ...

Argentina's Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra commented only days ago that Trump represented a "more closed, isolationist and xenophobic" model in his agenda. These tough remarks were all but forgotten today when she congratulated Trump in a tweet reading, "Congratulations Donald Trump on being elected as the new president of the United States. The north American people have spoken at the polls. Congratulations to democracy and its institutions."
...
Ireland's premier, Enda Kenny, may have some explaining to do when he makes his annual St Patrick's Day visit to the White House next year. In June, when Trump was due to visit Ireland, Kenny claimed he would be "very happy" to meet the presidential candidates to outline why his views are considered racist. Following Trump's victory Kenny sent his congratulations to Trump. "I look forward to working with the new administration in the time ahead in the cause of international peace and security." he said.
...
French President François Hollande has shown disgust for Trump before. Earlier this year he said his "excesses end up making you feel like you want to retch," in the wake of Trump's comments about the family of Hamayun Khan, a decorated Muslim-American soldier who died in the line of duty. Today Hollande warned that his victory "now opens a period of uncertainty."

The French ambassador to the US, Gerard Araud, reacted more strongly to news of Trump's electoral victory by tweeting that "a world is collapsing before our eyes". The post was later deleted.

Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto tweeted congratulations to the US on it's decision, adding "Hope that Mexico and United States continue to tighten its ties of cooperation and mutual respect."

Spanish police have arrested four people suspected of recruiting children and young adults for Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL). Officials said the arrests were made in Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta.

The jihadist cell focused on "capturing, indoctrinating and sending young people and children to conflict zones in Syria and Iraq to turn them into future fighters," the Spanish Ministry of Internal Affairs said on its website.

A vote against corruption, warmongering: First thoughts on the 'Not-Hillary' election results

No to Hillary
© Via YouTube/No Hillary in 2016
So I just woke up and found that the world has changed. World War III was called off. Trump won, Clinton conceded. His victory speech is fair and integrating.

My "not Hillary" hunch for the election was right. That is, I believe, how Trump won. No so much by gaining genuine votes but by taking them from the crappiest candidate the Democrats could send into the race. This was not a "white vote". Trump did better with black (+5) and latino (+2) voters than Romney. Racism does not explain that. Clinton promised more wars. Those who would have to fight them on the ground rejected that position.

The people voted against corruption, against international warmongering, against attacks of the culture of their life and against Zionist and Arab potentate manipulation. In short - they voted against Hillary.

The media with their outright and widespread manipulation and one sided reporting against Trump and for Clinton lost too. People did not believe the partisan crap that fact-checked Trump on every minor issue but hardly reported on the huge, huge scandals and corruption Wikileaks revealed about the Clintons. Fact-checkers ain't a good weapon in a culture war. The people want authenticity - lying is not seen as bad - if it is fairy open and authentic. Clinton is not authentic even when she tells the truth. The polls, but the one of the LA Times, turned out to be systematic manipulation.

Pepe Escobar: Trump won presidency 'via social media; mainstream media never saw it coming'

Traders at BGC Partners

Both parties in the US, Wall Street and big corporate media were absolutely certain Hillary was going to win by 98 percent, but with his mantra "Make America Great Again" Trump proved them all wrong, political analyst Pepe Escobar told RT.

As soon as the polls started to close, stock markets worldwide struggled to handle the results.

Dow Jones futures were slightly up at first but as the likelihood of Donald Trump winning the election increased they plunged over 700 points in a matter of hours.

The US Dollar index, Brent crude and the Mexican peso also suffered following the news.
In the meantime, the value of gold has gone up over $1,300 per troy ounce.

RT: Why have we been seeing such a reaction? What is so wrong with Donald Trump that the markets didn't like him?

Pepe Escobar: The famous unknown quantity. Everybody is absolutely flabbergasted. What the hell is going on - nobody knows. People are saying that Deutsche Bank could collapse in the next few hours. Anything is possible. But this is a normal panic reaction, in fact. Because what we just saw is a sort of geopolitical 9/11, in fact. Trump, who is an absolute master of communication, he actually threw the bomb but survived it. The casualties are an enormous spectrum, which includes the war party, of course, both parties of the US, the whole political establishment, Wall Street and big corporate media in the US. People were absolutely sure that Hillary was going to win by 90 percent or even 98 percent. Trump emitted some really good signs in his very short shambolic acceptance speech when he talked about an infrastructure program for the West which is absolutely obvious. Anybody who has traveled or used the US infrastructure and compares it to Asia, the big cities in Asia, knows how appalling the whole thing is. This is jobs, this is investment in infrastructure, and it is what the Chinese did. And they are still doing.

'Racist' & 'xenophobe'...no more? Huffington Post reportedly to drop editor's note branding from Trump stories

Trump
© Carlo Allegri / Reuters
For months, each article on Donald Trump on the Huffington Post was accompanied with an editor's note branding Trump as "serial liar", "rampant xenophobe", "racist" and "misogynist." However, the note is no more now, Politico reports.

The Huffington Posts' disclaimer read: "Note to our readers: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the US."

However, as Trump is on the brink to win the White House, relations are starting to warm up, it would seem.

Jihadists forces thousands of civilians to retreat with them from town near Mosul

Jihadists near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul have forced 1,500 families to retreat alongside them as militants are pushed out by a joint US-backed offensive. Aid organizations say they are concerned by the "significant humanitarian consequences" of the military operation.

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists forced civilians to accompany them as they retreated from the town of Hammam al-Alil towards Mosul airport, spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Ravina Shamdasani announced Tuesday.

Along with 1,500 families, IS kidnapped 295 former members of the Iraqi Security Forces.

"People forcibly moved or abducted, it appears, are either intended to be used as human shields or - depending on their perceived affiliations - killed," the UN official said, as cited by Reuters.
