Not only that, but Republicans have won a majority in the Senate and the House, so we're in for a bumpy ride.
In a particular show of grace, his acceptance speech was a milder form of Donald, and what many people expected. Less extreme positions, and a willingness to compromise. He didn't gloat, or insult Hilary, which shows he can be magnanimous in victory.
Whatever side you were on in the fight, it seems Trump's victory is now a fait accompli, and Hilary Clinton will hopefully (though probably not) be facing Jail Time.

"Wait a sec, didn't we already try deregulating wall street and didn't work out so hot?"
Johnson spasms: "Listen, um, the government can't do anything! What do you think Bill? ... BILL?"
Weld is crying. "Hmm? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Just reminiscing about Clinton's offer of treasury secr-"
Johnson: "THE POINT IS, when the government decides to give out handouts, then tomorrow it will blow up the moon. It's the same principle."
"Wait, what do handouts have to do with dere-"
Johnson catches the questioner off guard by abruptly pointing his palms out at him. Johnson slowly backs out of the room.
Anyway, hopefully Trump doesn't get jealous of Putin and sours relations again. That's all I have to say without being bleak.
I'm really, REALLY glad Killary lost but not necessarily happy that Trump won. He has yet to prove himself.
What is so telling is that it appears to be almost a landslide even against the certain amount of vote rigging that we know was going on. Killary was in a bubble. Totally out of touch with real people and what they want and need and think. What is so delicious is that she lost against Trump - not even a tried and true statesman; she lost to a clownish business impresario which says a LOT about how much she is hated. People were not so much voting FOR Trump as voting AGAINST Killary.
Gaddafi's revenge? I think a lot of people could not get the image out of their mind of her cackling "We came, we saw, he died" and what all that led to. Her attacks on Russia worked against her too. Lots of people in the US - possibly even a majority LIKE Putin and do NOT want any more war.
I hope that putting her in jail is one campaign promise Trump keeps. But how much you want to bet that NOW her people will start trotting out the "She's old and sick and dying..." routine; she was healthy enough to be president, but too sick to go to prison.
My impression is that they decided Hillary Clinton was too old and sickly to perform the functions of president.
Trump will be a part of it.
It will be a really big show.
Have a nice night.
And no I did not stay up all night. I went to bed here in the Midwest long ago.
I get up at this hour. This is the start of my day.
ned, out
Well, as has been customary lately, our middle-aged Great Pyrenees and I were out for our early morning walk....
The stars were brilliant. (A moonless night/early morning.) In particular, the Big Dipper to the north and east, and Orion to the south and slightly west. The awesome Milky Way. Wonderful. I love those little lights in the sky. I love the sky....
It should be very quiet, at 4 am, that wonderful sky and just the sounds of my footsteps and those of the dog and a few distant wild animal sounds and the slightest sound of a very gentle, light breeze and it WAS quiet at this hour 30 years ago. But now the freeway is a constant 24/7 hum, the trucks are always rolling. Constant and I detest it....
Oh, well.....
And so back we go to the really big show, starring Trump and Hillary and whomever. It will be very important. The months ahead are crucial. The great global economy, the money economy, upon which all life on earth now depends, must be managed and presented in most careful way possible. It is very important, so important. The people must know and be prepared to make their heady and conscious decisions and exercise their full participatory rights, each and every day. Read the news. Be informed. Stay aware. Be responsible and grow with the 'territory'.
Yeah, right.
Left.
Right.
Have a grrrrrrrrrrrrreat day.

Now who are they going to blame?
Unfortunately they will have to look further than the White House as men of Mr Trump's ilk can smell a set up a mile away. That old movie plot that never fails to surprise comes to mind; where the con man discovers he is being had by the supposed chump he set up to take the fall.
Politics is a dirty business. Me. I'm opening a Christmas club account for 2020 to treat my aged self to a vacation in Mr Trumps new hotel in Puerto Rico. Welcome 51st state, Puerto Rico!
The witch is gone but are we free ..
