Investor predicts price of gold will explode, dollar is "going to tank"

Peter Schiff was among the few economists who correctly predicted the financial crisis in 2008. Ten years later, he sees another crisis emerging: a crisis that can crash the stock market and wipe out the US dollar.

"I predicted a lot more than just the stock market going down back then. I predicted the financial crisis, but more importantly, I predicted what the government would do as a result of the financial crisis and what the consequences of that would be because that's where we're headed. The real crash I wrote about in my most recent book is still coming," Schiff said in an article posted by Greg Hunter's USAWatchdog.com and quoted by ZeroHedge.

According to Schiff, the US Fed has inflated a gigantic bubble, which is impossible to pop, but when it bursts, the consequences would be very painful for the economy and much bigger than the 2008 meltdown.

"I think this bubble is too big to pop. I think it's the mother of all bubbles, and when it bursts, there is not a bigger one that the Fed is going to be able to inflate to mask these problems, meaning we can't kick the can down the road anymore. This time, the crisis is going to hit everyone in the wallet," he said.

US prepares heavily funded anti-Russia propaganda troll army

troll connoisseur
It's no secret that social media manipulation and information war is the greatest weapon in this Cold War 2.0.

This report from the Russian evening news goes into detail about how the US does not simply label Russia State Media as foreign agents, but they send their own army of internet trolls to wage a subversive campaign against Russia online. (Full Transcript provided at the bottom of the article)

According to the report:
The idea is to actively work in social networks to discredit news from Russian state media, and to highlight the posts of opposition Russian-speaking journalists, those who under the new amendments will amount to foreign agents. They target Facebook, Twitter, and even Odnoklassniki.

We have already covered the presence of these disgusting, perverted trolls, on both Facebook and Linkedin, and now it seems they have been given a blank check to expand their trolling network into Russian social media like Odnoklassniki.

This is a dangerous slippery slope. First, they will target Russian State Media, then every single independent journalist who so much as dares to question the narrative.

Their campaign of censorship has already hit close to home when they openly targeted Russian Faith, a website founded by an American military veteran and co-founder of Russia Insider to cover the Christian Renaissance in Russia.

Comment: The timing is interesting considering the upcoming Russian elections and another great example of mainstream media duplicity. For months we hear about these "Kremlin" trolls and now these Western media outlets are receiving massive budgets to continue spreading propaganda and fake news. See also:

Netanyahu ditches US Jews for alliance with Evangelicals and alt-right as Israel's far-right government takes extreme measures

For decades most American Jews have claimed an "Israel exemption": resolutely progressive on domestic issues, they are hawks on their cherished cause. Racism they would vigorously oppose if applied in the United States is welcomed in Israel.

Reports at the weekend suggested that Donald Trump is about to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, throwing a wrench in any peace plan. If true, the US president will have decisively prioritised support for Israel - and pro-Israel lobbies at home - over justified outrage from Palestinians and the Arab world.

But paradoxically, just as American Jews look close to winning the battle domestically on behalf of Israel, many feel more alienated from a Jewish state than ever before.

22 Russian athletes file lawsuits against lifetime Olympic bans

olympic committee
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered 22 cases from Russian athletes against their lifetime Olympic bans and the annulment of their records at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

The cases were received just one day after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) disqualified Russia from the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, AP reports.

The IOC took the decision to ban Russia from sending a team to the Games, but says it will permit Russian athletes who have never been found guilty of doping - and have undergone stricter doping tests since April - to compete as independent athletes under a neutral flag.

The 22 athletes, which includes Sochi gold medalist Alexander Zubkov, Alexander Legkov and Aleksandr Tretyakov, are understood to have requested that the CAS make a decision on their cases before the Pyeongchang Games open on February 9.

Comment: The IOC says that it is "politically neutral". What a farce. It's hard to know what's worse: making such an obviously political decision and lying about it, or being so self-deluded that you think you are neutral while being a total tool for a political witch hunt. Probably the vast majority of Russian athletes have done nothing wrong - and Russia has been sure to be squeaky clean since the last Olympics, given the public pressure on them. Yet the IOC has collectively punished all Russian athletes. Just put yourself in a Russian athlete's shoes and imagine how this feels: like living in a Kafkaesque dystopian nightmare.

World champion figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, who attended the IOC board meeting on Tuesday, expressed her own reaction to the ban:
"I cannot accept the option that I would compete in the Olympic Games without the Russian flag as a neutral athlete," Medvedeva said. "I am proud of my country, it is a great honor for me to represent it at the Games. It gives strength and inspires me during the performances."

The two-time world champion, who hasn't lost since November 2015 and is widely considered as number one contender to clinch the coveted Olympic title in the women's individual skating, said that by banning the Russian flag, the IOC defies the Olympic Charter principle which grants equal opportunities to all competitors.

"If I perform without a national flag, I will not be able to compete in the team. At the same time, my other rivals will have this opportunity. The Olympic Charter states that all athletes should have equal opportunities. And in this case there can be no question of equality."

Medvedeva also said the chance to compete in PyeongChang may be her only opportunity to win Olympic gold, as she is uncertain about her participation in the next Winter Games four years from now.

"In 2014, I was 14 years old. I have not even entered the adult national team of my country. For me personally, PyeongChang should be the first chance to plunge into the unique atmosphere of the Olympic Games. I do not understand why I and my Russian teammates can lose this chance."

Medvedeva also insisted she tried to remain uninvolved in the ongoing doping row surrounding Russia. "I have until the last moment tried not to pay attention to the negative news related to Russian sports. I thought that we, the 'clean' Russian athletes, had nothing to worry about. If someone really committed anti-doping rule violations, we certainly do not have anything to do with this," she said.

Following the IOC's announcement to suspend Russia's Olympic membership, Medvedeva stated it remains unclear whether she will take part in the Olympic figure skating tournament in South Korea.

"Will I go to the Olympics? It will be discussed later. It's too early to ask such questions. Deep inside I feel I did everything I could. I was immensely happy to be here and to deliver my short speech [to the IOC]. I do hope that it produced the desired effect.
"I want to believe that Russia will turn this [doping] story into something positive. I know I'm supported by fans from around the world and I promise I will not give up and will continue working at full strength."
You see, that's where Mevedeva was wrong. This has nothing to do with going after "dirty" athletes. It only matters that you're Russian.

Russian Deputy PM Vitaly Mutko has offered to fall on his sword and quit if it will do any good. He received a lifetime Olympic ban on Tuesday. That's unlikely. The monsters that are after Russia cannot be appeased. They simply want blood.

Trump's Jerusalem decision 'will be the spark to remove Israel from Islamic nation and reason to attack US troops' says Iraq paramilitary commander

The US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital may become a "legitimate reason" to attack American troops in Iraq, Shia paramilitary group Harakat Hezbollah al Nujaba said.

"Trump's stupid decision... will be the big spark for removing this entity [Israel] from the body of the Islamic nation, and a legitimate reason to target American forces," said Akram al-Kaabi, the Iraqi organization's leader, as cited by Reuters.

The US, which is leading a large-scale operation against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) in Iraq, has about 5,200 troops in the country, according to the latest statement from the US Defense Department.

Comment: Trump has made some blunders and outright stupid moves in foreign policy, but nothing compares to this decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. US influence is already on the decline in the Middle East, and things are about to get very ugly for Israel as well as the United States in the region. Arab countries have long been divided by Western influence. What happens when they unite through a common cause?

What's the first thing you're told by your parents as a kid when you're anywhere near fire?

That's right: don't pour oil on it.

Why?

Well, ignore the advice and see for yourself - the fire will instantly erupt into a far larger and more furious ball of violent flame, endangering the lives of everyone in the immediate vicinity.

Comment: Trump may be fanning the flames but he's just a puppet on a string. The responsibility for the fire itself rests with American and British imperialists, hand in hand with Zionists. And their penchant for ruthless domination only seems to grow by the day.

'Africa must be independent': President of Ghana schools French President Macron

Akufo-Addo
President Akufo-Addo
President Akufo-Addo's quest to see Africa taken beyond aid was once again on full display, after his latest speech sent a strong word to the Western world.

Akufo-Ado hosted France President Emmanuel Macron last week, with the pair meeting to discuss matters ranging from unity, investment and partnership building.

However, the part that caught the eyes of many was when the Ghanaian President made a bold statement concerning Africa's continuous reliance on European countries for support. Right in the presence of President Macron, Akufo-Addo insisted that Africa "can no longer continue to make policies for ourselves, our regions and our continents on the basis of whatever the Western world or France or the European Union can give us.

US sanctions force North Korea to use 'indirect channels' for exports

North Korea coal
A three-metre-high metal fence topped with razor wire in a North Korean port marks the front line of the United Nations' ban on coal exports by Pyongyang.

A mountain of North Korean coal -- which would once have been bound for China -- is piled up on one side of the barrier in Rajin harbour, stranded by the interdiction.

On the very next dock, around two million tonnes of Russian coal has come in by train and been shipped on to China this year by Russian port operator RasonConTrans.

Saudis fired 5 shots from US missile defense at incoming target - and they all missed

In late November, a missile fired by Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen came streaking through the sky toward the airport in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh.

The Saudis spotted the incoming fire and shot off five missile interceptors from a US-supplied missile defense system to stop the threat, they say.

"Our system knocked the missile out of the air," US President Donald Trump later said of the incident. "That's how good we are. Nobody makes what we make, and now we're selling it all over the world."

But a new analysis by The New York Times suggests that the missile's failure to hit its target was a fluke and that the missile interceptors all missed.

Goolag Archipelago: Google censors powerful migrant crisis video by Polish Gov't

Youtube censor quarantine

YouTube has 'quarantined' a hard-hitting video on Europe's migrant crisis released by Poland's conservative government, as part the platform's crackdown on "hate speech and violent extremism".

The Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration's video has been placed in a controversial state designed by YouTube to limit access to videos it says contain "supremacist" or "extremist" content, but which don't break any of the platform's rules.

Opening with dramatic scenes of migrants swarming into Europe, the video highlights EU leaders' insistence that the newcomers be spread throughout the continent, and forced even on unwilling nations through compulsory quotas.
