France hypocritically condemns Turkish operations in Syria

In the latest episode in the Turkish-French war of words over the ongoing operation against Kurds in northwest Syria, France's foreign minister said Ankara is violating international law through its actions.

In an interview with French BFM TV, the foreign minister called for the withdrawal of all forces that "ought not to be in Syria, including Iranian militia, including Hezbollah." He added that international law "is being violated by Turkey, by the Damascus regime, by Iran and those who are attacking eastern Ghouta and Idlib."

Comment: The French foreign minister must have forgotten that their own strikes in Syria, which reportedly hit a stadium, a museum, medical clinics and a political building where also illegal under international law. It also boggles the mind how he concludes Damascus is violating international law by fighting the terrorists that upended the country into chaos. If he wanted to maintain any legitimate credibility he'd be condemning the actions of his own government, as well as the actions of the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia in Syria.

President Donald Trump signed a national security memorandum on Tuesday establishing a vetting center aimed at improving the screening process of those who want to enter the U.S.

"Border and immigration security are essential to ensuring the safety, security and prosperity of the United States," the president said in the memorandum. "I am, therefore, directing the establishment of a National Vetting Center (Center) subject to the oversight and guidance of a National Vetting Governance Board (Board), to coordinate the management and governance of the national vetting enterprise."

The directive doesn't establish new authorities or call for new funding, according to a CNN report released Monday. The center is to be finalized within six months.

Democratic Sen. Tom Carper says 'dreamer' illegal immigrants should be hired to replace millions of Americans who supposedly are too unskilled, uneducated, unethical or drugged up to work for companies.

"I think the business community is saying that to the administration [and] they are certainly saying that to those of us in the Congress, and we should focus on that," Carper told MSNBC.

Pawns in the geopolitical strife: A brief history of America and the Kurds

Map of greater Kurdistan
Map of greater Kurdistan
The Kurds find themselves caught in the middle of a power struggle between the U.S., Russia, Turkey, Iran and Syria - a familiar situation that follows decades of geopolitical strife in their region, explains Ted Snider.

The only thing that has ever been faithful to the Kurds is history: it has faithfully, without fail, betrayed them. The Kurds have been cast in the role of the pawn in powerful countries' games of chess. They do much of the hard work only to be sacrificed when checkmate is in sight.

Most recently, the U.S. rediscovered the Kurds as useful pawns in the war on the Islamic State. But, despite being one of the most effective forces fighting the Islamic State, now that the end is in sight, the Kurds are, once again, in danger of being abandoned.

The United States, unlike Russia and Iran, was never invited into Syria. The U.S. insisted, though, that it was only there to save Syria from the Islamic State. Recently, however, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson tipped the American hand. America has no intention of leaving Syria once the Islamic State is checkmated, he said. The U.S. will stay after the war is over, and the uninvited stay has to do with more than just keeping the Islamic State down - it has to do with keeping Iran out.

Carter Page gives first interview to Fox after FISA memo revelations

Former Trump adviser Carter Page, the man in the middle of the FISA Memo, speaks out for the first time on Fox News' 'The Ingraham Angle.'

Here is part one of the interview...

In part two of the interview, Carter Page discussing his connections to Russia and the government surveillance based on his work in Russia.

Comment: It's beginning to look like the FBI totally railroaded Page. After working with the FBI throughout 2013-2016 in order to catch some Russian spies, the FBI turned around and accused him of being a spy - just in order to get the FISA surveillance order. In other words, they used his patriotism against him in order to accuse him of treason. Really makes one want to go ahead and cooperate with the FBI, now, doesn't it?

Jim Jordan: Key Clinton allies involved in Benghazi also had a hand in the Steele dossier

jim jordan

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan accused key Clinton allies of helping craft a second anti-Trump dossier and accused them of "rigging the game," Tuesday on "Fox & Friends."

Jordan was asked about a possible second dossier and said Clinton operatives Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer had paid Christopher Steele to do opposition research, but then told Steele which specific details to include.

"The names we keep hearing are Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer - people who have been around the Clintons as being a part of this. But I also think it's kind of interesting because what it looks like is, they paid Steele to put together the dossier and told him what to put in," Jordan said. "Talk about rigging the game and putting together a document that will serve your purposes as an opposition research document."

"That is what the Clinton team did and then when you see names like Sidney Blumenthal coming up. We deposed this guy during the Benghazi hearings," Jordan continued. "He has been with the Clintons forever. He was knee deep in the whole Libya, Benghazi story, particularly the story where they weren't square with the American people about what was the actual catalyst of the attack, and they tried to blame it on video."

Jordan expressed outrage at how the government omitted information about the dossier while seeking a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant and said it was vital for the American public to have seen the GOP's recently released FISA memo.

"That dossier was taken to a secret court to get a secret warrant to spy on fellow citizen and they weren't clear with the court who paid for it, who was involved with, and the fact that they had already fired Chris Steele from any type of relationship with the FBI because he broke a fundamental trust. He went to the press and told them he was working with the FBI. And yet they still used this work product, this dossier," Jordan concluded. "That's what's so ridiculous about how they handled this, and why that memo last week from the Republicans was so important that the American people see."

Lavrov: US eyes partitioning of Syria, gave up on promise that fighting ISIS 'only goal'

The US appears to be aiming at dividing Syria, as US troops still linger in the country even after its promise to end the mission after driving out Islamic State fighters, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"It's very likely that the Americans have taken a course of dividing the country. They just gave up their assurances, given to us, that the only goal of their presence in Syria - without an invitation of the legitimate government - was to defeat Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) and the terrorists," Lavrov said.

Regarding pledges to keep a limited military contingent in the war-town state, Lavrov says the US is not being open about their true objectives.

"Now [the Americans] are saying that they will keep their presence till they make sure a steady process of a political settlement in Syria starts, which will result in regime change," the minister said during a conference in Sochi.

Lyin' Brennan says Nunes was 'reckless' in handling of memo

Brennan
© The Counter Jihad ReportFormer Director CIA, John Brennan
Former C.I.A. Director John Brennan on Sunday chastised the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee on Sunday for his handling of a bombshell memo that delved into the secretive world of surveillance courts, saying the push to expose bias at the FBI was one-sided and shut out opposing views.

Mr. Brennan, who served under President Obama, said Rep. Devin Nunes, California Republican, could have held hearings to expose potential problems at the FBI, but instead put out "very selective, cherry-picked" memo without allowing Democrats to offer a rebuttal memo.

"I never, ever saw the Democrats do something like this that was so partisan, so reckless and really just laid waste to the protocols that governed committees," Mr. Brennan told NBC's Meet the Press. "And Devin Nunes, over the past several months, all the way back to the spring of last year I think has been engaged in these tactics purely to defend, make excuses and try to protect Mr. Trump."

Comment: Maybe that's because you're blind to partisanship on the Left, Brennan. Or you're just lying.

Mr. Brennan acknowledged that he once slammed Senate Democrats for releasing the so-called "torture report," though he felt Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California kept all sides informed at the time.

Comment: From fake intel to fake news, Brennan is movin' on up in the world. Couldn't have expected anything less from such an upstanding guy, with absolutely nothing shady in his past at all:

Tillerson: Russia's already meddling in midterm elections, US helpless against it

Rex Tillerson
© Henry Romero / Reuters
The Russians are already trying to interfere in the 2018 midterm elections and the US is basically helpless to stop them, according to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Tillerson told Fox News that the US, along with its "allies and partners," has identified "certain behaviors" apparently pointing to nefarious Moscow meddling in upcoming elections across the Western world. The Secretary of State did not elaborate about what kind of "behaviors" he was referring to.

Despite over a year of highly politicized investigations leading to no concrete evidence of Russian influence in the 2016 presidential election, Tillerson took a rather fatalist view of America's ability to avoid "more" interference.

Comment: Yes, Putin has many techniques to bend the world to meet his demands. Using his stern stare and flexing his bare chest, he can upend entire nations. He has the omnipresent power to crush dissent with his pinko-commie pinky finger. When Putin does push-ups, he is actually bench-pressing the entire world. You can run but you can't hide. Resistance is futile.

'Obama wants to know everything': More revelations from newly disclosed Strzok-Page texts

Peter Strzok Lisa Page
Lisa Page and Peter Strzok
Newly revealed text messages between FBI paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page include an exchange about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey to give to President Obama, who wanted "to know everything we're doing."

The message, from Page to Strzok, was among thousands of texts between the lovers reviewed by Fox News. The pair both worked at one point for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Page wrote to Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016, about prepping Comey because "potus wants to know everything we're doing." According to a newly released Senate report, this text raises questions about Obama's personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation.
