New Zealand tried its very best to show "solidarity" with London's finger-pointing over the Skripal poisoning case, but was unable to identify any Russian spies to expel, according to the country's prime minister.

Jacinda Ardern told local media that New Zealand wanted to give some Russia spooks the boot - but couldn't find any. "We've done a check in New Zealand, we don't have any undeclared intelligence officers. If we did, we would expel them," Ardern told RNZ.

The prime minister speculated that the absence of "undeclared intelligence officers" sneaking around New Zealand is probably due to the fact that there isn't much for the Russians to spy on. "Of course, there's a range of international interest that countries will have. Does it surprise me that New Zealand's not top of their list? No, actually," she said.

Trump's appointment of Pompeo proof of neocon truce

Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas
A banal face of evil, Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was replaced by CIA chief Mike Pompeo.

There were rumors that this was in the works for some time, but Trump finally decided upon it while Tillerson was returning from his first-ever Africa tour. Pompeo's transfer from the CIA to the State Department completes the "deep state" "cleansing" that Trump has tacitly commissioned since entering office. America's diplomatic corps isn't shy about its hostility towards the President, but the liberal-globalist allies of the Obama, Bush, and Clinton Administrations will assuredly see their remaining influence further diminished under Pompeo's tenure, just as their counterparts at the CIA did over the past year. That doesn't mean that they'll be completely snuffed out, but just that Trump will task his new appointee with finishing the "house cleaning" process that Tillerson started.

Comment: Trump is not 'consolidating his power' and probably had very little to do with Pompeo's appointment other than to float it as directed, unconsciously or not. Presidents are figureheads meant to sell already-decided Deep State policy to the public in an acceptable manner. The is nothing in Pompeo's record that bodes well for the future.

Western nations need the current conflict with Russia to consolidate the region in the face of the migrant crisis and looming collapse of the European Union, the leader of the Russian Liberal Democratic Party has said.

"The European Union is falling apart. How can they prevent this without an external threat? They need some fear factor," Vladimir Zhirinovsky wrote in his Telegram messenger on Tuesday.

"They are no longer afraid of the Islamic world, there are millions of refugees from Arab nations and Africa living in Europe anyway. China is too far. Russia is all that they are left with," he explained.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: 'Rest assured, Russia won't tolerate' West's obnoxious conduct

Moscow won't tolerate Western countries' crassness and will definitely respond to the expulsion of diplomats, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.

"Rest assured, we will respond," Lavrov said in reply to a TASS question. "The reason is that no one would like to tolerate such obnoxiousness and we won't either," he added.

Six former Mossad chiefs rally to condemn Netanyahu

During a joint interview with Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, half a dozen former Mossad intelligence agency chiefs voiced their dissatisfaction with Benjamin Netanyahu and his policies.

Six former top Israeli spies criticized the country's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming that his leadership puts Israel's future in jeopardy.

Danny Yatom, who was in charge of Mossad during the late 1990s, commented on the ongoing corruption investigations targeting the Israeli leader, claiming that Netanyahu and his cohorts put "their interests ahead of national interests."

He also berated Netanyahu for his apparent reluctance to pursue the so called 'two-state solution' in the conflict with the Palestinians, as according to Yatom, "the inertia in the diplomatic sphere" which leads the country toward a bi-national state with the Palestinians threatens Israel's status "as a Jewish and democratic state."

US and UK's lackeys expel Russian diplomats while May considers more moves - still no proof has been presented

Britain and the EU could take further measures against Russia by June, Prime Minister Theresa May's official spokesman has said. The statement came after May said that 130 plus people could have been exposed in Salisbury incident.

The British Government has confirmed they are considering tougher sanctions and announced a June deadline for a report for the EU Council. The UK has been attempting to punish Russia deeming them as "culpable" for the poisoning of Sergei Skripal, a former double agent, and his daughter Yulia.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said that more than 130 people could have been exposed to the nerve agent, identified by the UK as A-234 - also known as 'Novichok'. "We assess that more than 130 people in Salisbury could have been potentially exposed to this nerve agent," May said in a statement delivered to parliament on Monday. The PM also accused Russia of covering up the use of chemical weapons in Syria by the Assad government, a claim the Kremlin refutes.

Russian ambassador to US, Anatoly Antonov: Russia will not let itself be provoked into emotional breakdown

According to Anatoly Antonov "the blow to official representatives and missions of Russia" means actions aimed at confrontation, and "there is no justification for it"

Washington's words about its readiness for cooperation with Moscow do not meet the actions, and, contrary to the assurances, the policy of the former administration continues, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said in a statement for the press.

"Washington's actions are indicative of very disturbing symptoms. The words about the readiness for cooperation do not meet the actions. Contrary to the assurances, the policy of the previous administration has continued," he said.

According to him "the blow to official representatives and missions of Russia" means actions aimed at confrontation, and "there is no justification for it."

Paul Craig Roberts: Integrity and morality has vanished from the West

War is Peace
© George Orwell/1984
Among Western political leaders there is not an ounce of integrity or morality. The Western print and TV media is dishonest and corrupt beyond repair. Yet the Russian government persists in its fantasy of "working with Russia's Western partners." The only way Russia can work with crooks is to become a crook. Is that what the Russian government wants?

Finian Cunningham notes the absurdity in the political and media uproar over Trump (belatedly) telephoning Putin to congratulate him on his reelection with 77 percent of the vote, a show of public approval that no Western political leader could possibly attain. The crazed US senator from Arizona called the person with the largest majority vote of our time "a dictator." Yet a real blood-soaked dictator from Saudi Arabia is feted at the White House and fawned over by the president of the United States.

The Western politicians and presstitutes are morally outraged over an alleged poisoning, unsupported by any evidence, of a former spy of no consequence on orders by the president of Russia himself. These kind of insane insults thrown at the leader of the world's most powerful military nation-and Russia is a nation, unlike the mongrel Western countries-raise the chances of nuclear Armageddon beyond the risks during the 20th century's Cold War. The insane fools making these unsupported accusations show total disregard for all life on earth. Yet they regard themselves as the salt of the earth and as "exceptional, indispensable" people.

Russian Embassy: Trump can still prevent fallout from 'fake news' about Skripal

The Trump administration can still prevent negative repercussions that the alleged Salisbury poisoning case of Russian ex-Colonel Sergei Skripal may have concerning the ties between Washington and Moscow, the Russian Embassy in the US said on Sunday.

"The White House may still be able to prevent any negative consequences of this fake story for the very little positive stuff left in Russian-American relations. Ties between Russia and the US are more comprehensive, and strategic stability throughout the globe depends on them. They should not be held hostage by such clearly orchestrated scenarios," the Russian diplomatic mission said.
