Beijing has prepared reciprocal tariffs against the United States, which will be introduced on the same day Washington implements tariffs on $34 billion of Chinese imports, according to Reuters.

"Our measures are equal and being equal means that if the US starts on July 6, we start on July 6," a source in Beijing told Reuters. "The implementation time for all policies starts at midnight."

On June 15, the Trump administration said it would introduce additional 25-percent duties on 818 items of Chinese imports worth $34 billion on July 6.

Iranian President to meet EU leaders to discuss nuclear deal, wars on Syria and Yemen, trade

President Hassan Rouhani.
Europe needs to save the JCPOA for a multitude of reasons, and Iran needs its commerce with Europe
European signatories to the nuclear non proliferation agreement with Iran, termed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) have been repeating their commitment to the deal since Trump's withdrawal in May. However, up until now, no concrete measures have materialized which demonstrate the European resolve to ensure that the economic benefits to Iran of sticking with the deal. Meanwhile, Iran has been declaring that they are not going to remain with the JCPOA and will return to their enrichment programs if Europe doesn't come through.

The need is great, therefore, for Europe and Iran to come to some sort of agreement with concrete implications about how to save the agreement and guarantee European economic cooperation with the Persian nation. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is set to make a trip to Switzerland and Austria in order to establish these goals as well as to discuss matters in the Middle East relative to Syria and Yemen.

Press-TV reports:

Comment: It remains to be seen whether Europe will forego America's threats and work with Iran, but one positive is that this farce is bringing more international attention to just how belligerent and detrimental relations with the US really can be. And it begs the question whether, in these changing times, is it really worth it? Also check out SOTT radio's:

Flashback What Actually Happened to John F. Kennedy, Jr.? Documentary Investigates

JFK Jr kennedy plane crash
John Hankey is a long-time investigator who has focused much of his attention on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. He produced a documentary setting force his views on that event. Hankey has also turned his attention to the death of John F. Kennedy, Jr. in a plane crash off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts on Friday, July 16, 1999. Hankey has produced a 104-minute DVD documentary entitled The Assassination of John F. Kennedy, Jr. Much as I liked the earlier documentary, I liked this one even better. According to the widely accepted explanation, Kennedy was a reckless pilot whose died because of his own carelessness. But Hankey shows that Kennedy was actually a careful pilot who was most likely the victim of foul play. Persons who are interested in the death of John Kennedy, Jr should watch Hankey's documentary, the basic outline of which I shall summarize here.

Hankey takes as his point of departure two overlooked pieces of evidence in the official report that the National Transportation Safety Board published one year after the crash. First, the radar data describing the path of Kennedy's plane showed that just as Kennedy was making his final approach to the Martha's Vineyard Airport, his plane, in the absence of any explosion or engine malfunction, suddenly plunged headfirst into the ocean, falling 2500 feet in 45 seconds. Secondly, the fuel selector valve on Kennedy's plane was found to have been turned to the off position.

A car thief has stolen an IDF military attaché's posh SUV with secret files inside - right under the nose of the driver and bodyguard. The brazen seizure happened in broad daylight and was caught on CCTV cameras.

The incident, which the Israeli media described as "embarrassing," occurred some time last week in an undisclosed European city. An Israeli military attaché arrived at a hotel in his official black Audi SUV for a meeting with an IDF general, who was visiting the city, Ynet reported.

Deep State shill Bill Gates praises congress on rejecting US State Department budget cuts

© Express Newspapers via AP ImagesBill Gates speaks during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London on April 19, 2018.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates praised the Republican-led Congress for rejecting the Trump administration's proposed cuts to the State Department budget.

Comment: You mean the Deep State infested State Department?

Gates pointed out that the foreign aid budget nearly doubled during President George W. Bush's tenure, when Bush created the President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief to extend life-saving HIV treatment to hard-hit nations in Africa.

"In terms of the present situation, it is a little concerning that for the first time the executive branch recommended pretty dramatic cuts in the State Department budget, including the foreign aid portions of that budget including things like PEPFAR," Gates said Wednesday at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. "Fortunately, the budget, Congress has the final word so those rather drastic cuts that were in the administration's first budget did not become law."

Comment: It should be exceedingly clear at this point where Bill Gates' allegiance lies.

Obama has 20 full-time staffers working from his DC bunker and 40K trained leftist agitators - his plans?

ObamaOFA

Don't be fooled into believing that because you don't see Barack Obama attacking President Trump from behind a microphone, that he's not active in behind the scenes efforts to take down President Trump and destroy his Make America Great Again agenda.

Barack Obama could've moved back to Chicago, the place he falsely calls home, the place where residents are on the hook for $200 million to build a shrine to him.

Barack Obama, who grew up in Hawaii, but likes to call Chicago his hometown, landed the ultimate slap in the face to Chicago residents. The man without a legacy and his good friend, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, are pulling a disgusting bait and switch on Illinois residents. Instead of building a presidential library, as promised to the City Council, the Obama Presidential Center organizers will instead, build a massive shrine to Barack and Michelle Obama, at the cost of almost $200 million to Illinois taxpayers.

If Barack and Michelle had such close ties to the city of Chicago, why did they choose to stay embedded in DC?

Comment: Obama began as a community organizer and it looks like he's back at his old job. The (deliberate? purposeful?) drag out on both the FBI fiasco and Mueller investigation has given Obama the time and space to get his Democratic takeover operation in motion. And look at the team he has assembled! Could it all connect?

Chris Matthews' panic on 'Hardball': 'We cannot allow a potential criminal to pick a Supreme Court justice!'

Just think, this was on Thursday night, so the week from hell for MSNBC's Hardball and host Chris Matthews was far from over with. Thursday's installment featured he and various guests demanding that "we cannot allow" "a potential criminal" in President Trump to appoint another conservative Supreme Court justice because he'll keep Trump from prison and do his bidding "for three decades."

Pivoting from an update on from The Capital Gazette newspaper shooting, Matthews screeched that "[i]t's impossible to see another decision that will have greater or sure will greater shape the kind of country we do live in." When it comes to conservative (and not liberal) justices, Matthews declared that the Supreme Court will always make political decisions on things like "decid[ing] presidential elections, the number of guns in the country, the power of money in our politics and on and on."

Matthews later teed up Hollywood director and walking Notable Quotable Rob Reiner by fretting that the Supreme Court "will decide the fate very well of this President" on "[a]ll kinds of issues, obstruction of justice and possible collusion with the Russians" and yet the Senate will be "let[ting] him pick one of the people to decide his own fate."

Reiner implored liberals to let go of their feelings about the Merrick Garland nomination because "[w]e have a President of the United States that, right now, is under investigation for possibly conspiring with a...foreign enemy power to disrupt our democracy and steal an election."

Comment: Well that was a runaway train wreck of lefty ranting! Are the concerns realistic and justified or a targeted, frenzied, seditious political tantrum bent on riling up the audience with hyperbole and innuendo? The full transcript in context is worth a look.

Trump the peacekeeper: 'We would be at war with N. Korea' if not for me'

Trump

US President Donald Trump has once again baffled the international community, as he claimed that it was him who actually saved the world from a potentially devastating conflict between Washington and Pyongyang.

"If not for me, we would now be at War with North Korea!" Trump said in a Twitter post on Tuesday as he rejoiced the "many good conversations with North Korea," which he said are "going well." He then apparently also took the credit for the absence of any North Korean missile launches and nuclear tests over the last eight months.

Comment: Whatever the narratives or sources of improvement in relations, progress has been made and hopefully it will continue.

Ecuador: Judge orders arrest of ex-president Rafael Correa

The National Court of Justice of Ecuador has ordered the preventive detention of the country's former president Rafael Correa and requested that Interpol apprehend him for extradition.

The request for Correa's detention was filed by the country's chief prosecutor on Tuesday. The prosecution is accusing Correa, who served as the president of Ecuador from 2007 to 2017, of being involved in the kidnapping of Fernando Balda, a former opposition lawmaker, in 2012 in Colombia - charges that Correa vehemently denies.

Balda himself was charged with orchestrating a foiled coup attempt in 2010. The charges were filed when the lawmaker was in Colombia, from where he was eventually deported to Ecuador in 2012 and served a year in prison for endangering state security.

Correa, who is living in Belgium with his family, is up in arms over the court's ruling, arguing on Twitter that the request to put him in custody was made without "a single piece of evidence." He believes the extradition does not stand a chance at the international level.

The Russian military has reportedly accepted that a new extended-range interceptor missile, for the acclaimed S-400 air defense system, is ready for service and could be in operational service by the end of August.

The update on the trials of the missile comes from a source in the defense industry cited by TASS news agency. Almaz-Antey, the producer of the S-400 system, declined to comment on the news. The 40N6E is an extended range surface-to-air missile that the S-400 can fire. The projectile can take down targets up to 400 km far, according to open source data.

There are conflicting reports about whether the missile is capable of engaging high-altitude targets, with some sources claiming it may have maximum altitude of 185km while others saying it is designed with a conservative ceiling of 30km.

The first successful test of the 40N6E was reported in 2015. The S-400 is currently the backbone of Russia's long-range air defense architecture. The Russian military has been in the process of replacing older S-300 variant with the newer system since 2007. The older missiles that the S-400 can fire has a range of up to 250 km.

Comment: The S-400 is in demand.
