Reverberations from the Skripal affair, with all its extraordinary twists and turns, show no sign of abating.

British intelligence agencies, investigating a series of trips made by two Russian suspects in the March nerve agent attack on former Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury, have determined that Ruslan Boshirov and Alexander Petrov traveled to Geneva at least six times ahead of their alleged attempt to assassinate Sergei Skripal, The Telegraph wrote.

Flight ticket details obtained by the newspaper show that the two booked nine separate flights to and from the Swiss city between November of 2017 and February this year, and British investigators believe that establishing the person or persons they met in Geneva is "absolutely key to the ongoing investigation."

The 'Never Forget' mantra of September 11

Never Forget
© St. Peter's Catholic School Org
"Never forget."

This is the mantra. The mantra that is repeated in the wake of every major false flag, every psychologically traumatizing incident that the deep state wishes to become a rallying cry for their next agenda item.

And so it is completely unsurprising that this mantra has been invoked to remind the public of that foundational event of the age of terror, 9/11.

"Never forget," we are told by the mockingbirds of the establishment press every year come September. And when I say "every year" I mean every / single / year / without / fail. (Well, sometimes it's a fail, but you get what I mean).

But never forget what? That is the question.

Never forget that false flag terrorism has been used time and time again throughout history to whip up war hysteria among the public? Never forget that the Afghan war and the war of terror in general was based on the lie of 9/11? Never forget that the official government conspiracy theory of 9/11, the 9/11 Commission Report, is a tissue of lies and omissions based on torture testimony that would be inadmissible in any court and is self-contradictory to boot? Never forget that official government cover-ups into the events have relied on outright lies, confiscation and memory holing of key evidence that proves that 9/11 was not the work of the magical cave-dwelling dialysis patient and his band of box-cutter-wielding henchmen?

No, of course not. "Never forget" the officially sanctioned, government-approved lessons of 9/11, silly! That's what "never forget" means.

RT responses to the BBC (which the British state broadcaster never bothered to quote)

Brought to you by the folks who spent decades telling us how to be proper journalists - just like them! - and then wringing their hands when we finally said "Nah." (This tale shows precisely why).

If you're a BBC reporter, this is apparently how you approach a story about RT (a critical one, of course):
Step 1: Reach out for a comment, so nobody can accuse you of bias.

Step 2: Get every single question answered by an RT representative.

Step 3: Publish an article about RT without including a single word of RT's reply.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done in good old England. Or at least how it was done by one Tom Ingham of the BBC, who reached out for an RT comment on a story. It looks like it's this one (Salisbury Novichok poisoning: SNP MP calls for action against Russia), in which SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford finally gets his feelings about RT off his chest.

Catholic Church in New York spent $2 million lobbying to block child sex laws

church
In light of the growing pedophilia and sexual assault scandal rocking the Catholic Church, it is important to remember that not very long ago the organization was found paying off a lobbying firm to block bills related to sex crimes against children.

In 2015, the New York State Catholic Conference, contracted the lobbying groups, Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, Patricia Lynch & Associates, Hank Sheinkopf, and Mark Behan Communications to block a bill called the Child Victims Act, which was aimed at making it easier for victims of child sex crimes to come out against their accusers. The bill also sought to extend the statute of limitations for sex crimes, since many victims are too afraid to speak out until too much time has passed to prosecute.

Between 2007 and 2015, the Catholic church in New York only spent more than 2.1 million dollars lobbying on various bills, mostly related to sex offenses.

This week, the Catholic Church got more bad news, as it was announced that the states of New York and New Jersey were launching investigations into how the church has handled sex crimes within its ranks.

Syria: Pentagon to eliminate Russia in new plan of 'effective war on terror'

Washington has its own plan on how to "effectively" combat terrorism in Syria, the Pentagon has said, adding that the US is not planning to cooperate with Moscow on the issue.

The US military strategists have found what they call a "better, more focused way" to do counterterrorism operations in Idlib, the US Department of Defense said in statement on Saturday. The US military revealed almost no details of its plan as the statement said only that it would involve "using the US capabilities to spot the terrorists - even in an urban environment - and take them out with a minimum of civilian casualties."

Washington also apparently plans to go at it alone, without working with other actors present in the area as the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford, "was not talking about cooperating," the statement added. He also said that he had not spoken with his Russian counterpart, Army General Valery Gerasimov, since the tensions around the Syrian northern militant-held Idlib province began to rise, adding that the two military officials are also "not scheduled" to talk in the near future.

Comment: What better way to isolate the US position and draw ire than to refuse communication with the other parties, who have legitimate responsibility in Syria, and risk a 'one hand not knowing what the other hand is doing' disaster. Meanwhile, the terrorists apparently have plans of their own. See below:

More from FRN:
The Pentagon spokesman reported that an estimated 20-30,000 terrorists have entered Idlib to "hide among hundreds of thousands" who have fled violence in other areas of Syria.

Meanwhile, on Friday in Idlib a meeting took place between leaders of terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra, with the participation of the White Helmets, said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

According to the Major General, the meeting between terrorist leaders and the White Helmets was aimed at finalizing "incidents" staged with the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian army.

"According to irrefutable information held by the Russian Ministry of Defense on 7 September in Idlib city, a meeting was held at a command post near the al-Vahda school, between the group leaders of al-Nusra, the Turkistan Islamic Party, with the participation of local coordinators of Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets)," he said.

In addition, according to the Major General, all preparations for the chemical weapons provocations in Idlib should be finalized by early Saturday night. The signal to start the operation will be a special order from the "foreign friends of the Syrian Revolution".

Konashenkov added that the Russian Ministry of Defense will scrupulously monitor the situation in Syria and the actions of the armed forces groupings of various countries in the Middle East.

Trump said he 'fell asleep' during Obama's first public attack on his policies in a midterm speech appearance

Former President Barack Obama has backed the Democratic party's campaign efforts by throwing shade at President Donald Trump and voicing support for progressive policies. Trump shot back that he found it "very good for sleeping."

Obama, who barring a handful of public appearances and an exclusive content deal with Netflix has been relatively quiet since leaving the Oval Office, accused Trump of "capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years," during a speech at the University of Illinois on Friday.

Obama unloaded on Trump for a litany of supposed misdeeds: his response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico last fall; his failure to thoroughly condemn the far-right after last year's deadly rally in Charlottesville; and his bashing of the press. Obama also swiped at the president for his earlier comparing of himself with iconic Republican Abraham Lincoln, and for his statement that he would ask Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate the mystery writer of an anonymous New York Times op-ed criticizing his leadership style from within.

Comment: For some, 'no-substance Obama' put them to sleep. For others, he, and his policies, became a reoccurring bad dream. To boot, the DNC election debacle and criminal activity therein, including the former president as head of the party and its infamous nominee, has been and still is an ongoing nightmare. But rest assured...it ain't over.

The US is supplying weapons to terrorists in Syria through third countries such as Ukraine, the Syrian Foreign Ministry confirmed. Political scientist Yuri Pochta listed the reasons why Kiev participates in arms trafficking in the "gray" market.

Earlier, the first secretary of the Foreign Relations Department of the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Alaa Din Saeed Hamdan, said that Washington and its allies has been supplying weapons to terrorists in the Al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra and ISIS jihadist groups, taking advantage of "intermediaries".

"It is clear that the US and its allies provide a large number of ammunition and armaments through third countries, such as Eastern European countries, Ukraine or Balkan countries, to deliver arms to the al-Nusra Front or Daesh [ISIS]," said the representative of the Syrian Foreign Ministry.

US' 'coup d'etat methods' outdated for modern Tehran, Iranian scholars say

Riots Tehran 1953
© AFP/Intercontinentale1953 Riots, Tehran, Iran
The lessons of the 1953 coup d'etat in Iran remain unlearned by the US leadership, Iranian scholars told Sputnik. Washington has adopted old methods of psychological warfare and economic pressure to manipulate Tehran into making concessions; however, over the past 65 years the Islamic Republic of Iran has dramatically changed, they said.

The Trump administration has adopted the methods Washington resorted to 65 years ago to carry out a coup d'etat in Iran, Professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi, an expert on American studies at the University of Tehran, told Sputnik Persian:
"In my opinion, now the situation in Iran is not very similar to that time," he said. "But the methods used by the US are similar. This is an oil boycott and a psychological war. Then the Persian BBC radio service was engaged in this, now it is BBC television and social networks in Persian sponsored by the West, and thousands of people who conduct psychological cyberwar from Iran to the morning. But, I repeat, now the situation is completely different. The current leadership of Iran is very different from the government of Dr. Mossadegh."
Marandi's comment came on the heels of a statement made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who accused the US of carrying out "actions," which could lead to yet another coup d'etat in the country.

Comment: Who, what, where, when, and how? Shouldn't be that difficult to suss out with so many decades of US examples to compare.

US Army sending 1500 additional troops to Germany, despite demands for allies 'to pay more'

The US Army is to further bolster the number of troops it has stationed in Europe by a further 1,500, despite repeated complaints by President Trump that NATO allies are not spending enough to defend the continent.

US Army Europe said the troops will be deployed to Germany by September 2020, calling it a "display of our continued commitment to NATO and our collective resolve to support European security," AFP reports quoting a statement from the service.

The additional troop build-up will add to the 33,000 US troops already based in the country.

German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen called the new deployment "a welcome sign of the vitality of transatlantic relations" and "a commitment to common security," at a time when relations between Berlin and Washington have been at their lowest in decades.

US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, meanwhile hailed the deployment as evidence of President Trump's "promise to increase US defense capabilities" and Americans' commitment to "strengthening the transatlantic alliance."

Comment: It is likely the cost of sending 1500 more troops to Germany will be more expensive in 2020, and unlikely the only new infusion. The Pentagon budget is already outlandish and breaking the backs of the American taxpayer for military services to hundreds of bases around the world. Trump's rants for economic parity are justified. US citizen rants to limit military obligations and deployment to America's need are even more justified.

East Jerusalem: Trump freezes all hospital funding

A PA official said that, as a recent of the hospital funding cuts, Ramallah would double down on its boycott of the administration and its pending peace plan.

The Trump administration has frozen $25 million in funding to Palestinian hospitals in east Jerusalem as part of its punitive campaign against the Palestinian Authority for refusing to participate in its peace effort.

A US State Department official confirmed the plan this week to redirect the funds to other unspecified "priorities," shortly after US President Donald Trump halted funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency, cut $200 million in aid to Gaza and the West Bank and warned of a complete end to all funding of Palestinian causes unless the PA enters meaningful negotiations with Israel.

The east Jerusalem Hospital Network, which comprises six hospitals, has routinely received US aid. And in legislating threats of aid cuts to the Palestinians, Congress has always made exemptions for humanitarian care, such as hospital funding.

Palestinian officials shut down communications with the White House in the wake of Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital last year.

A PA official said that, as a recent [result] of the hospital funding cuts, Ramallah would double down on its boycott of the administration and its pending peace plan.

Comment: Trump also recently cut finding to UNRWA - the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
