Turkish Army reportedly keeping 50,000 jihadists on alert for Idlib battle

free syrian army
The Turkish army has put over 50,000 gunmen of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on alert to use them in the battlefields against the Syrian Army troops in Idlib province, a Turkish-language paper claimed on Monday.

Yeni Safak daily claimed that the Turkish army has kept more than 50,000 FSA terrorists on alert in Afrin, Azaz, Jarabulus, al-Bab and al-Rai regions to further sent them to battle against the Syrian government forces' operation in Idlib province.

It further said that 30,000 FSA gunmen are in regions under the occupation of the Operation Euphrates Shield and Operation Olive Branch forces, "and a sum 20,000 FSA fighters are to be transferred to Idlib to counter the Damascus forces' upcoming operation".

The daily went on to say that Turkish army has urged its allied militants to report the exact number of their gunmen and volume of arms and ammunition.

It said that the Turkish army has in recent days sent a number of cannons and missile launchpads to the borders with Syria and has reinvigorated its forces' combat capabilities.

Comment: As usual, Turkey is seemingly trying to straddle their two mutually conflicting alliances in the Syrian war: U.S./NATO on one side, Russia and Iran on the other. In addition to their continued support for FSA 'rebels' mentioned above, there's this too:
Air and ground attacks on Syria's Idlib Province must stop "immediately" and a cease-fire must be established in the rebel-held area, Turkish television quoted the country's defense minister as saying.

The broadcaster NTV quoted Hulusi Akar as making the comments on September 10, after Russia and Iran rejected Turkey's call for a cease-fire in Idlib, the rebels' remaining major stronghold in Syria.
Good luck with that. Russia and Syria have every right to fight al-Qaeda in Idlib - that's even the UN mandate - and that's what they will continue to do. The world seems to have gone collectively mad for the most part, with Western media and governments flying into fits of hysterics at the thought of Syria and Russia fighting the terrorist organization officially responsible for 9/11. How dare they.

Tucker Carlson reveals that Google employee actively assisted Clinton campaign during 2016 election by influencing Latino voters

google clinton tucker
Fox News Host Tucker Carlson exclusively obtained emails demonstrating a Google executive's efforts to use company resources to aid Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in 2016.

Tucker began the segment by lambasting the level of political influence big tech firms possess, drawing attention to Democrats' hypocrisy in their criticism of Citizens United, but unwillingness to criticize companies like Google.

"An email obtained exclusively by this show reveals that a senior Google employee deployed the company's resources to increase voter turnout in ways she believed would help the Clinton campaign win in the last election. The email we obtained came from a woman named Eliana Murillo, the head of the multicultural marketing department. She sent the email on November 9th, 2016. That's one day after the presidential election," Carlson said.

"In her email, she touts Google's multi-faceted efforts to boost Hispanic turnout. She notes Latinos voted in record-breaking numbers especially in states like Florida, Nevada and Arizona - the last of which she describes as 'a key state for us.' She brags that the company used its power to ensure that millions of people saw certain hashtags and social media impressions with the goal of influencing their behavior during the election," Carlson continued.

Comment: Gateway Pundit adds that Eliana's tweets were recently set to private:
The email was forwarded by two Google vice presidents to more staff members throughout the company. ... Eliana admitted Google used its power to ensure millions of people saw certain hashtags and social media impressions. The goal was to influence behavior during the election.

Google also supported partners like Voto Latino to offer rides to polling stations.

Google described this as a "silent donation" to the far left group.

Kellyanne Conway: NYT's anonymous op-ed writer will slip up, reveal identity

Kellyanne Conway

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway predicted Monday that the anonymous author of last week's New York Times op-ed that criticized President Trump would eventually let his or her identity slip.

"Cowards are like criminals, they eventually suss out themselves, because they eventually confess, or brag to the wrong person," Conway said on Fox News. "And I suspect that's what will happen here as well."

Conway said she doesn't know who the author was, but she said she's not impressed with their "type."

"Somebody who doesn't have the courage to come forward and say, 'This is my opinion, this is how I feel,'" she said.

When asked whether Trump worries that the author could be someone in the room in briefings with Trump, Conway said she doubted the author is that close to Trump or the White House.

"I'm not convinced, I have no reason one way or the other, but I'm just not convinced this is a true senior-level official, or a senior White House official," she said. "I have no way of knowing ... but I would imagine if the New York Times could have said senior White House official, they would have. Could be wrong."

Comment: That's assuming the alleged 'resistance member' actually exists and is not just another NYT creation...

The forum will be held on September 11-13

The 4th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which kicks off in Vladivostok on Tuesday, promises to become the most representative one in comparison with the previous events in terms of the line ups and level of delegations.

The forum's key event, a plenary session "The Far East: Expanding the Range of Possibilities," will be attended by the heads of five states and governments: Russia's President Vladimir Putin, China's President Xi Jinping, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister of South Korea Lee Nak-yeon.

Comment: The Russia-China Investment Fund (RCIF), established by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and China Investment Corporation, and Tus-Holdings, one of China's leading innovation companies, announced the launch of the Russia-China Venture Fund (RCVF), RDIF said in a statement.
"The fund has already studied more than 100 potential projects, of which it is currently considering five in detail - in such areas as new materials, information protection technologies, virtual reality, the development of new generation industrial equipment, innovative oilfield services. The fund plans to announce the first deal by the end of the year," it said.

The RDIF also said that the leading companies of Russia and China will boost bilateral investment.

"Today there are 73 projects with a total worth of over $100 billion in industrial, infrastructural, mining, agricultural and other sectors. Thanks to the work of the committee, seven projects worth $4.6 billion have already been implemented," the RDIF said.

Papadopoulos: 'Clinton friend, MI6 spook sought me out, lied about our meeting'

papadopoulos
Former Trump campaign staffer George Papadopoulos was sentenced on Friday to 14 days in prison after being set up by the Obama Deep State in the 2016 election.

George Papadopoulos went on CNN and ABC this weekend to discuss his role in the Spygate scandal.

Papadopoulos told the liberal anchors about how he was set up by Obama spy Stephan Halper in London after he was brought on by the Trump campaign.

Papdopoulos added that Halper began to sweat and his demeanor changed when George told him he had "no idea what you're talking about" as far as hacking and Russians.

Comment: Here's what Papadopoulos told CNN:
I received an unsolicited email from Stephan Halper who I thought was a Cambridge professor inviting me. So he reached out and said I want you to write a paper for me. I joined him about a week later over drinks at the hotel in London where all of the sudden he pulls out his phone. Everyone has phones when they meet with me and he places it in front of him and he begins to tell me, "So George, of course hacking is in the interest of your campaign. Of course, the Russians are helping you." These open-ended questions, and, "Of course, you're probably involved in it too. That's correct right?"
So it seems that from the very beginning, certain parties (i.e., British intelligence in league with American political operators) were out to create a connection between the Trump team and the Russians. They tried to implicate Papadopoulos, but it didn't quite work, for a simple reason: there was no Russian collusion.

New texts reveal FBI leaked information to the press to damage Trump

Rep. Meadows sent a letter to Deputy AG Rosenstein saying a "review of the new documents raises grave concerns regarding an apparent systemic culture of media leaking by high-ranking officials at the FBI and DOJ related to ongoing investigations"

Newly released text messages and documents obtained by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee reveal that senior members of the FBI and Department of Justice led a coordinated effort to leak unverified information to the press regarding alleged collusion with Russia to damage President Donald Trump's administration, according to a letter sent by the committee to the DOJ Monday.

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-NC, sent the letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein saying a "review of the new documents raises grave concerns regarding an apparent systemic culture of media leaking by high-ranking officials at the FBI and DOJ related to ongoing investigations."

The review of the documents suggests that the FBI and DOJ coordinated efforts to get information to the press that would potentially be "harmful to President Trump's administration." Those leaks pertained to information regarding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court warrant used to spy on short-term campaign volunteer Carter Page.

Pepe Escobar: 'Resistance' runs amok in the US Deep Throat War

NYT 1974
© iStockThe New York Times front page, dated August 9, 1974, on President Richard Nixon's resignation.
We now live in a psy-ops world. The latest Deep Throat War in Washington bears all the elements of an epic of the genre. Fear: Trump in the White House, by Bob Woodward, who remains an associate editor at the Washington Post, will be released next week, on the 17th anniversary of 9/11.

This, in turn, will divert attention from the fact that the former, Bush era-coined Global War on Terror has metastasized into an all-American Rebels With A Cause special, featuring support for the "moderate rebels" al-Qaeda in Syria, former Jabhat al-Nusra, now Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

In the wake of Fear, a Deep Throat surged out of nowhere in the form of an anonymous Op-Ed in the New York Times, which spilled the beans on Trumpian chaos in the White House.

Post-modern cynics were left wondering if this one-two walks and talks like a tie-in, it must be a tie-in. The Washington Post is the property of multi-billionaire Jeff "Amazon" Bezos and it has been on a permanent collision course with President Donald Trump.

And yet the Post may be seething now because Deep Throat, this time around, actually helped the competition. Adding insult to injury, the Times timed the release of its bombshell Op-Ed for the day after the Post's strategic "leak" of Woodward's book.

The heart of the matter is that the possible tie-in plays to the simple premise - extolling the role of a small "resistance" or the good guys. They are driven to protect "our values" and "our institutions" from dangerously chaotic Trump.

Post-truth cynics also cannot help being reminded of the historical precedence of a 1970s "resistance" - at the Nixon White House - who leaked to the press that "Tricky Dick" was out of control and was kept in check by true American patriots.

The current Deep Throat War is more like the case of a fractioned Deep State out for revenge on Trump via its media arm. The one-two tie-in - Woodward's book and the "resistance" Op-Ed - looks increasingly like a sophisticated psy-ops - a prelude for a Deep State white coup.

Comment: Pepe adds a coda via Facebook:
The mysterious "disappearance" of my Asia Times column - titled "'Resistance' runs amok in the US Deep Throat War" - has led me to some more juicy back-and-forth with my own Deep Throats in the Beltway.

The column is languishing in some digital black hole but seems to be found when people enter the title above.

And that brings us back to Trump - and Russia.

Detente with Russia: that is the main reason that Clapper and Brennan are after Trump and why Brennan called him a traitor. For all his cosmic inconsistencies, Trump is right that US intel is behind the "anonymous" NYT Op-Ed.

Some of my own Deep Throats in the Beltway are reliving the time when Nixon acknowledged his - innate? - cowardice as he exited the White House. Nixon famously told a friend that, "I am getting out while the getting is good and I have no intention of ending as Jack." He was referring to Jack Kennedy - who was killed essentially over detente with the then USSR.

And one of the Deep Throats - an insider who, let's say, "saw the light" - has come up with the classiest of quotes:

"They have Trump on nothing - and what was Watergate in comparison to 9-11, Pearl Harbor or the Gulf of Tonkin, just to name a few of our Operation Gladios?"

This is going to get WAY nastier.

Trump: 'I'll write the real book' in response to Woodward's sketchy publication

woodward trump book
Reporter Bob Woodward and President Donald Trump
President Donald Trump has hit out at Bob Woodward's "joke" new book, calling it "fiction" and promising to write the "real book" about his presidency, as unflattering allegations from the upcoming release keep spreading online.

"The Woodward book is a Joke," Trump tweeted on Monday morning. "Just another assault against me, in a barrage of assaults, using now disproven unnamed and anonymous sources. Many have already come forward to say the quotes by them, like the book, are fiction. Dems can't stand losing. I'll write the real book!"

The book, titled Fear: Trump in the White House, is written by the investigative journalist who uncovered the Watergate scandal that brought down former US President Richard Nixon in the 1970s.

Question

Joseph Mifsud, who set up Russiagate patsy Papadopoulos has been missing since November 2017 - now presumed dead? - UPDATE

George Papadopoulos Joseph Mifsud
© CNNGeorge Papadopoulos and Joseph Mifsud
Joseph Mifsud is a Maltese academic, with high level connections to the Russian state and UK politicians. Mifsud is a former employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta, a former principal in the London Centre of International Law Practice, a professorial teaching fellow at the University of Stirling in Scotland, and director of the Diplomatic Academy of London.

Mifsud went missing after his connections to George Papadopoulos went public.

George Papadopoulos, the lower level campaign worker for the Trump campaign, appears to have been targeted by three individuals with ties to British and/or U.S. Intelligence: Joseph Mifsud, Alexander Downer and Stefan Halper.

Mifsud and Papadopoulos obtained positions at an organization named the Centre for International Energy and Natural Resources Law & Security. Papadopoulos was a 'nobody' and the Centre sketchy at best. Mifsud vanished in early November 2017, shortly after Papadopoulos was in the news and indicted. His whereabouts are still unknown.

Comment: Was Professor Mifsud another one of #Russiagate's loose ends, as Sergei Skripal seemed to be? UPDATE: The Daily Caller reports:
[A] Swiss-German lawyer who has been described as a close friend and adviser of Mifsud's calls the allegation "nonsense."

"I'm in a better mood today. I got it from really good sources. They say that he is alive, that he has another identity, and that he is staying somewhere, at a nice place," Stephan Roh told The Daily Caller News Foundation on Sunday.

"I just this morning got a message, indirectly, that he is alive and that they have provided him with another identity," added Roh, who did not describe his sources.

The DCNF was not able to independently confirm whether Mifsud is alive.

Mifsud, a former Maltese diplomat, has not been seen or heard from since November 2017, just after special counsel Robert Mueller revealed that Papadopoulos had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about the timing of his contacts with Mifsud.

[...]

Roh says he was dragged into the government's investigation in October 2017, when he was detained at JFK International Airport in New York and questioned by the FBI about his relationship with Mifsud.

Roh, who co-owns Link Campus University in Rome, where Mifsud once taught, says Mifsud has denied to him directly that he spoke with Papadopoulos about Clinton emails.

In a recent self-published book, Roh claimed that, rather than being a Russian spy, Mifsud is associated with Western intelligence agencies.

Mifsud "had only one master: the Western Political, Diplomatic and Intelligence World, his only home, of which he is still deeply dependent," Roh and his co-author, Thierry Pastor, wrote in The Faking of Russia-gate: The Papadopoulos Case, an Investigative Analysis.

"After careful consideration, yes, we must assume that the Professor was most probably part of the game, that he was in close relation to the Western intelligence world as well as to the Clinton network, and that today he is fully cooperating with and following the orders of easily identifiable intelligence agencies - and that he is certainly not a Russian spy," he wrote.

Roh further described Mifsud's association with Western intelligence agencies Sunday, saying the professor was not directly employed by them.

"Mifsud is not an employee of a specific agency. He is not a member of the MI6. He was working for them. But working for them does not mean he was a member of the team," Roh said.

Best of the Web: The plot thickens: FSB detains ISIS member 'who planned murder of a Donbass leader on behalf of Ukraine'

Detention of Mejid Magomedov

The Russian security service, the FSB, says it has arrested an Islamic State operative who was planning to murder one of the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) on behalf of the Ukrainian authorities.

The suspected terrorist was identified as Mejid Magomedov, who was born in 1988 in Russia's southern Dagestan republic. He was arrested on Sunday in Russia's Smolensk region in the west of the country.

The suspect said he was involved in a plot to assassinate a senior Ukrainian rebel commander living in Russia. He said the mission was given to him by Ukraine's SBU security service in coordination with right-wing extremists from the Right Sector movement, the FSB stated.

Comment: And so we see another route through which 'ISIS' leads back to the CIA. This guy was interchangably 'ISIS' AND 'Pravy Sektor' - 'Islamist' AND 'Neo-Nazi'.

That's why we've taken to calling them terrorist-mercenaries. They don't usually do terrorism for terrorism's sake; they do it for money, and ideology. In this case, to 'git Russia'.
