Ukrainian MP Andriy Derkach revealed on Wednesday that former Vice President Joe Biden received $900,000 from Burisma Group for lobbying activities, citing materials related to an investigation.

Via Interfax:
Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden received $900,000 for lobbying activities from Burisma Group, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada member Andriy Derkach said citing investigation materials.

Derkach publicized documents which, as he said, "describe the mechanism of getting money by Biden Sr." at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine's press center in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Derkach explained:
"This was the transfer of Burisma Group's funds for lobbying activities, as investigators believe, personally to Joe Biden through a lobbying company. Funds in the amount of $900,000 were transferred to the U.S.-based company Rosemont Seneca Partners, which according to open sources, in particular, the New York Times, is affiliated with Biden. The payment reference was payment for consultative services."

John Kiriakou: US intel agencies are 'spying on Americans constantly, abusing the system'

Surveillance

In a ruling made public Tuesday, the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) found that FBI employees illegally collected information on American citizens through the agency's foreign surveillance efforts.

John Kiriakou, co-host of Loud and Clear on Radio Sputnik, joined By Any Means Necessary Wednesday to discuss the evolution and increased normalization of US domestic spying since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In a 2018 ruling released Tuesday with partial redactions, the FISC found that the FBI had been spying on Americans by accessing a database of information on Americans through a surveillance program intended to spy on foreign nationals. The court found that the FBI had spied on Americans, misusing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which allows intelligence officials to monitor emails and phone calls on foreigners not living in the US.

Mid-meeting 'bomb drop' gave FBI its 'Oh S***!' moment on Clinton emails

The FBI reopened its investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's emails in late October 2016, just days before her dramatic loss to Donald Trump in November.

An FBI agent rifling through former US congressman Anthony Weiner's digital devices on the lookout for explicit and otherwise inappropriate 'sexting' messages to a 15-year-old girl which led to Weiner's conviction in 2016 had an "oh sh***!" moment when he realized the devices contained email correspondence between Hillary Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin, Weiner's wife, a new book claims.

According to a Business Insider report by journalist James B. Stewart, after finding the estimated 340,000 Clinton emails on the devices so close to the election, the digital extraction technician asked himself "Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?", with the trove said to constitute "potentially ten times the volume" of emails which then-FBI director James Comey had previously "said we had on record."

In a briefing on the emails days later, an agent present in the room said the emails were like "dropping a bomb in the middle of the meeting. Everybody realized the significance of this, like, potential trove of information," the agent said.

US Senate to finalize sanctions on Turkey for attacks on Syrian Kurds that the US abandoned

US Republican and Democratic lawmakers are finalising legislation that would impose economic sanctions on Turkey, which has begun a military invasion of northern Syria to clear a border region of US-allied Kurdish forces, Senator Chris Van Hollen said Wednesday.

"Turkey must pay a heavy price for attacking our Syrian Kurdish partners," Van Hollen said in a Twitter message. "Senators on both sides of the aisle won't support abandoning the one regional group most responsible for putting ISIS [Islamic State terror group, banned in Russia] on its heels. Our bipartisan sanctions bill is being finalized now."

Van Hollen, a Democrat, partnered with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham to round up votes of a two-thirds majority needed to override a possible veto by President Donald Trump.

The Senate initiative reflects bipartisan outrage over Trump's order for about 50 US troops to pull out of the Syrian border zone, where they had been partnered with the Kurdish-led and US-allied Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Turkey considers Syrian Kurds terrorists and on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Erdogan announced the start of Operation Peace Spring in the north of Syria to cleanse the border zone of SDF positions and remaining Islamic State terrorists (banned in Russia).

Ukraine's Zelenskiy seeks peace talks 'In any format,' ending war in East a priority

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said a formula proposed by Germany three years ago as a way of breaking the deadlock for achieving peace in the Donbas conflict would only be implemented once four-way talks take place with Russia, Germany, and France.

Fielding questions during a marathon news conference in Kyiv on October 10, Zelenskiy said the blueprint proposed in 2016 by then-German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier would be enshrined in a new "special status" law for the separatist-controlled territories and drafted only after the so-called Normandy format discussions take place.

"Will there be a special status law through which the Steinmeier Formula will be implemented -- we'll decide together with you only after the Normandy format meeting and after we learn what all sides are proposing," Zelenskiy said at his first full-fledged news conference since being elected in April.

Comment: For wanting to end the civil war in his country, Zelenskiy has had a phony protest movement sicced on him:

Kiev: Thousands protest Zelenskiy's plan for local elections in eastern Ukraine

Which is EXACTLY what a Soros NGO said it would do if he 'strayed' from what the Empire wants:

Welcome to Western democracy: Soros 'NGO' threatens new Ukrainian president with disturbing list of 'red lines'

Inconvenient truth: Zelenskiy didn't even know US was withholding aid during Trump call

Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky speaks to a group of reporters during a news conference in Kyiv on October 10.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy says he didn't know military aid from the United States had been held up before a phone call with President Donald Trump that is at the center of an impeachment inquiry.

Zelenskiy told a group of reporters during what his office is calling an "all-day marathon" news conference on October 10 that under the circumstances of the call, "there was no blackmail."

"I had no idea the military aid was held up. When I did find out, I raised it with [Vice President Mike] Pence at a meeting in Warsaw," he added.

SOTT Focus: It's Not All About The Bidens: Why Trump Has Ukraine on The Brain

trump zelensky
© Jonathan Ernst/ReutersUkraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy listens during a bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, September 25, 2019.
The impeachment inquiry Democrats launched last month may ultimately hinge on a simple question: Did President Trump try to force a foreign power (or powers) to help him take down a political opponent, Joe Biden?

But the backdrop of their effort is far more complex and convoluted, connected not just to Trump's phone call with the president of Ukraine and related evidence but the three-year war of attrition the Democrats have waged against the president. Their main instrument was the Trump-Russia collusion story that roiled the capital until Special Counsel Robert Mueller pronounced it unfounded. Now they have moved on to one or more "whistleblower" complaints from within the intelligence community.

Given all the focus on nefarious Russia, you could be forgiven for missing the fact that Ukraine was always at the center of the Trump-Russia affair.

Comment: It is very historically and symbolically fitting that Ukraine is the central subject matter in the undoing of the 'American empire'.

That US-fomented coup in Kiev in early 2014, followed by 'the gloves coming off' in Putin's Russia, has proven to be a decisive and - assuming things remain on their current track - fatal blow to the empire.

It's not just that US efforts to 'take Ukraine from Russia' failed due to imperial hubris and overreach; those efforts rebounded on the US and their allies in manifold ways.

The sheer madness displayed by Western elites over this issue also irrupted in the social sphere with the sudden 'push' for all manner of 'social engineering' in schools, the workplace, online... everywhere!

It was as if, having had their veneer of invincibility exposed by Putin, whose weapon was simply truth and objective-reality-on-the-ground, the 'reality-creators' responded by 'activating' all available 'subjectivity programs' (lies), resulting in a global tsunami of unmitigated bullshit.

SOTT Focus: What Would it Take For The UK to Apologize For Centuries of Atrocities Carried Out Under The British Empire?

Any objective historian would concede that the British government has a centuries-long list of atrocities that it must one day apologize for. To this day, the British Empire has struggled with the notion of righting past wrongs.

The British government made a rare move last week: it expressed regret for the killing of Maori in New Zealand in 1769. When Captain James Cook "discovered" New Zealand, it wasn't long before local Maori people were being attacked and killed by Cook and his band of merry men.

To be fair, the government only took this step because it wanted to push ahead with a government-funded commemoration of Cook's initial landing, including replicating his sailing ship with an accompanying flotilla. In fact, New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters (who has Maori ancestry, mind you), suggested that Maori had their own share of the blame.

Comment: With today's ever expanding 'woke' culture, it wouldn't be a surprise if the UK actually did apologize for some of the country's atrocities. That said, it would be completely meaningless unless UK leaders actually learn from the past and implement actual changes. That country has been at war CONTINUOUSLY since 1914!

Given the history of empires, we all know that is unlikely. This is all the more so under the stupefying effect of virtue-signalling 'wokeness', which at this time holds greater threat than the "rising right-wing". In fact, generally, it is the "right-wing" which is anti-war these days...

Fired! Pregnant! American Indian! Liberals like Elizabeth Warren are gaming the gullible adherents of PC victim culture

Elizabeth Warren
© Global Look Press / Preston EhrlerElizabeth Warren
In these virulent days of in-your-face wokeness, America is at risk of some individuals identifying with victims as a means of gaining unfair advantage over an opponent. The hypocrisy is cracking up the heartland.

There has always been a special place in our heart of hearts for the weak and the downtrodden. After all, there are few things more enthralling than witnessing an underdog dig deep inside of himself to defeat a seemingly more formidable foe. Who could forget Sylvester Stallone's fictional Hollywood character, Rocky Balboa, for example, who continued to punch back against his opponent despite having suffered considerable injury? There is just one rule in the game, however, that must never be broken: no cheating!

This week, the American people got a slap of reality that should - but probably won't - awaken them from their 'justice culture' reverie, which assumes that those people who identify with the oppressed of the world are automatically 'the good guys'. That isn't always true, as a case involving top Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren seems to indicate.

Durham investigation into origins of 2016 Trump campaign surveillance expands its scope

John Durham
John Durham: His probe aims "to better understand the intelligence that flowed from the C.I.A. to the F.B.I. in the summer of 2016," as the New York Times put it.
John Durham, the U.S. attorney reviewing the origins of the 2016 counterintelligence investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign, is probing a wider timeline than previously known, according to multiple senior administration officials.

Fox News previously reported that Durham would be reviewing the days leading up to the 2016 election and through the inauguration.

However, based on what he has been finding, Durham has expanded his investigation adding agents and resources, the senior administration officials said. The timeline has grown from the beginning of the probe through the election and now has included a post-election timeline through the spring of 2017, up to when Robert Mueller was named special counsel.
