The word "Democracy" is thrown around frequently within progressive circles as a call to arms; a rallying cry based on a fraudulent narrative of patriotic duty. Throughout the entirety of Joe Biden's first and last term, the political left painted conservatives as a threat to democracy. Anyone who opposed pandemic mandates, compelled vaccination, open borders, mass immigration, gender ideology in public schools etc., was labeled a danger to society.

The inherent fallacy being that leftists (and by extension Democrats) represent the majority of the nation. However, this notion has been consistently debunked by multiple elections, polls and the fact that the vast majority of liberal movements have been exposed as astroturf funded by NGOs.

If Democrats actually cared about democracy, they would listen to the actual American majority, instead of waging a propaganda war on the majority in order to manufacture a false consensus. And, the majority of Americans do not support multicultural or "intersectional" ideology. The liberal vision is on the decline and that's a good thing.

Not surprisingly, Hillary Clinton disagrees.

Dear Senator Warren,

When I watched your recent video on X about Elon Musk becoming the world's first trillionaire, I found myself in the unusual position of agreeing with you — at least in part. That is not a sentence I write often.

You see...you are correct that something has gone profoundly wrong in an economy that can produce a trillionaire. You are correct that the gap between the financial elite and ordinary Americans has become so vast that most people can barely comprehend it. And you are correct that millions of Americans increasingly feel as though the economy is rigged in favor of a small group of people at the top.

According to The Wall Street Journal, there are now roughly 430,000 American households worth more than $30 million, including approximately 74,000 households worth over $100 million. The growth of these groups has dramatically outpaced overall population growth over the past several decades.

At the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue 2026 held in Singapore and attended by 44 countries, the real story was not the reaffirmation of the US-led Indo-Pacific order but its slow, public unraveling.

The Speech That Misread the Room

The opening plenary belongs, by Shangri-La tradition, to Washington. This year, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declared:
"The era of the United States subsidizing the defence of wealthy nations is over," demanded that allies spend at least 3.5% of GDP on defence, and denounced the "utopian idealism" of the old multilateral order. He boasted about the extrajudicial capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, touted improved US-China relations under President Trump — conspicuously omitting any mention of Taiwan — and closed with the assertion that the region needs "less Shangri-La, more combat power."
It was a speech that alienated the very audience it sought to lead. In fact, as events show, the starkest divide at the Dialogue was not between Washington and Beijing; it was between Washington and its own partners. ASEAN, alongside the European Union, remains among the world's most committed advocates of multilateral diplomacy and rules-based order. Telling such an audience, at a conference, that conferences are superfluous was a striking misreading of the room.

The dissonance ran deeper than tone.

Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Friday revealed there are more than 120 taxpayer-funded biolabs located in 30 countries, and the Biden administration "threatened" people who attempted to expose their existence. Gabbard alleges an intentional cover-up by powerful figures, including Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Biden administration, regarding the existence and gain-of-function research conducted at these labs, some in high-risk areas such as Ukraine.

"These biolabs include labs in places like Ukraine, which could be at risk of compromise due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war," Gabbard said. "In fact, the intelligence community had previously warned that a U.S.-funded biolab in Ukraine likely housed dangerous pathogens and remained vulnerable to long-standing threats of Russian attack, seizure, or damage."

Comment: Nothing like tossing a match as you are going out the door, not to mention vindicating Russia's decades-long allegations. Kudos, Tulsi! Dilyana did yeoman work when no one would believe her:

Amid Iran's counter-attacks on Gulf nations and reportedly on American bases hosted in these Arab Gulf allied states, there's been a curious lack of any new launches against the United Arab Emirates.

Kuwait and Bahrain have been hit especially hard in this week's new flare-up in cross-Gulf fighting, but again, the UAE has been spared - after previously coming under significant attacks during the opening month of Operation Epic Fury. Even faraway Jordan has been targeted in the new 'retaliatory' attacks.

But Bloomberg on Thursday revealed the reason - Iran and the UAE have apparently reached an 'understanding' after some backroom dealing and diplomacy.

No one will be able to force a strategic defeat on Moscow in Ukraine, the Russian president has said

Russia is practically fighting against the entirety of the collective West in the Ukraine conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a meeting with service members in the Kremlin on Friday.

The meeting coincided with Russia Day, which commemorates the country's declaration of sovereignty on June 12, 1990 and the beginning of its post-Soviet statehood.

"Russia is standing against the so-called Collective West single-handedly," Putin said, noting that the Ukraine conflict has become "exceedingly high-tech."

The NATO nations are all, without exception, ramping up efforts to do all they can to orchestrate actions against Russia, he added.

A June document shared with allies reportedly outlines sweeping reductions in U.S. military assets assigned to NATO operations, including fighter jets, surveillance aircraft, tankers, naval forces and bomber units.

The Trump administration is preparing to reduce key U.S. air and naval assets available for NATO missions in Europe, a move that would mark a broad shift in America's military posture inside the alliance, according to The New York Times.

Two senior European officials familiar with the decision said the reductions were detailed in a document provided to allies in early June. The plan would cut the number of American aircraft and warships assigned to NATO operations and could limit the alliance's capacity for aerial refueling, surveillance, long-range strikes and maritime monitoring.

Under the proposal described by the officials:
- U.S. F-16 and F-15E fighter jets available for NATO operations would fall from about 150 to 100.
- Maritime reconnaissance aircraft would be reduced from 26 to 15.
- All eight aerial refueling tankers previously assigned to Europe would be withdrawn.
- Reassignment of a missile-launching submarine, an aircraft carrier and several supporting warships. One of the two bomber groups previously designated for Europe's defense would also be reassigned.

US publishes docs on 'dangerous' Ukrainian biolabs

The documents confirm Russia's claims that the labs were working with potential bioweapons.

US Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has released new evidence that US-funded biological laboratories in Ukraine were researching dangerous pathogens. Washington previously denied any role in running these labs.

Published on Friday, the declassified documents reveal that the US "built and supported" 40 biolabs in Ukraine, which worked with "especially dangerous pathogens" including anthrax, avian flu, Ebola, plague, and tuberculosis. At least 12 of these laboratories were carrying out human research.

Some of the laboratories were engaged in so-called 'gain of function' research, a controversial practice whereby animal viruses are modified to increase their virulence and transmissibility to study their effects on humans.

The partially-redacted documents state that the US paid for the construction and equipping of at least four laboratories, at a total cost of more than $9 million. They also reveal that these laboratories carried out research on behalf of and in collaboration with the US Department of Food and Agriculture, the US Army, the World Health Organization, the UN, and multiple US universities. Metabiota, a biotech company part-owned by Hunter Biden's investment firm, is also listed as a partner.

As Yerevan weighs Russia against Europe, the real question is whether the "European path" exists at all.

The final results of Armenia's parliamentary elections are due to be announced this weekend. Vaagn Hovakimyan, head of the country's Central Election Commission, has said ballots will be recounted until Friday, after which complaints and appeals will be considered. The official results are expected on Sunday and those who reject the outcome will then have one day, June 19, to appeal to the Constitutional Court. "Further action will then be dictated by the court," Hovakimyan said.

Narek Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia electoral list, has said his movement will decide on its next steps once it is clear whether another opposition force, Prosperous Armenia, led by businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, has entered parliament. At present, it appears to have fallen short of the 4% threshold. The opposition Armenia bloc has already said it is ready to challenge the result.

The vote brought to a close a peculiar election campaign. Its oddity didn't lie in the use of administrative resources, including pressure on opponents, nor in the visible influence of external factors, because such things are now common almost everywhere. The unusual feature was the central narrative of the political struggle, where the campaign was presented as a choice between Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union on one side, and the West and the European Union on the other.

However, this is a phantom choice.

The U.S. Justice Department has issued subpoenas to major banks, including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, seeking information on whether they improperly closed customer accounts for political reasons, according to a person familiar with the matter. The subpoenas, some dating back ​to last year, were from the U.S. Attorney's ​Office in Washington, D.C., headed by Jeanine Pirro. The ⁠Wall Street Journal first reported the subpoenas.

They requested ​banks to provide lists of individuals who were allegedly "debanked," ​along with details explaining why their accounts were closed, the report said. Pirro's office is also seeking information from Wells Fargo the ​report added, citing people familiar with the matter. JPMorgan ​did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.
