SOTT Focus: The Health & Wellness Show: Precious Snowflake Syndrome: Cry ins, safe spaces and microaggressions

crybabies
America is being overrun by a bunch of crybabies whose whining has reached a fever pitch. With the recent presidential election it's as if a switch has been flicked which gives people carte blanche to emote all over everyone else and throw tantrums in public. The ability to maintain a stiff upper lip and deal with adversity is being eroded. Feelings, however misplaced, are all that count while facts and reality are given short shrift. What are the roots of this emotional hysteria? Why do grown-ups need to hold cry-ins in their safe spaces while being protected from microaggressions? What are the effects on the individual specifically and society in general when a culture of narcissism and the eschewing of reality is not only accepted, but promoted?

Join us on this episode of The Health and Wellness show for a lively discussion of this topic. Stay tuned, as always for Zoya's Pet Health Segment where the topic will be euthanasia.

SOTT Focus: The Health & Wellness Show: Connecting the Dots: Fighting the winter blues, mental health, and the coming vaccine season

winter blues
Join us for another Connecting the Dots episode where we'll catch up on the most recent news and timely topics in the world of health.

Winter is coming and Seasonal Affective Disorder will descend upon millions of people in the Northern Hemisphere. What part does shifting light cycles, either natural or artificially enforced through daylight saving time, play in mood and circadian rhythms? How can the effects of waning daylight be mitigated?

Winter also means that flu season is upon us and if the CDC had its way we'd all be vaccinated. We'll check in with that mega-organization and their partners in crime -- Big Pharma and the FDA -- to see what mischief they've been up to most recently.

We'll also discuss Italy's first Veggie City, protein intake and the wonders of vitamin B12, the disturbing rise of anxiety and suicides in children and how to naturally increase mental well being.

Stay tuned, as always, for Zoya's Pet Health Segment where she connects the dots in animal health news.

SOTT Focus: The Truth Perspective: 2016 US Presidential Election: The American Dream Turns American Nightmare

US elections cartoon
© Scott Bateman / thenib.comEarly US presidential election results 2016
Take a look at our 'Picture of the day' today. It fairly accurately sums up the generalized feeling of not only Americans but many people around the world, about the 2016 US Presidential election.

To say the 4 yearly contest has become a depressing and contemptible spectacle that is totally unbecoming for the 'world's greatest democracy' is to understate the matter. Then again, was the US ever the 'world's greatest democracy', or was that moniker little more than an example of the comfortable lie that is not, to the dismay of millions, being exposed?

This week on The Truth Perspective, with just 3 days to 'election' day when only about 40% of adult Americans will actually cast a vote, we'll be analyzing the latest news and considering the deeper implications of the apparent transformation of the American dream into a nightmare, and why it's happening right now.

Why is Hillary being attacked by powerful US establishment entities? Is a Trump win likely? If Trump wins, will he be a '21st Century Hitler'? All this and more will be discussed today by your hosts and special guest.

SOTT Focus: The Health & Wellness Show: Public schools: Where creativity, freedom and critical thinking go to die

Image
Most experts would agree that the public schooling system -- at least in the US -- is in dire straits. High dropout rates, failing test scores and pupil apathy and truancy are frequently blamed on lack of funding or poorly trained and unmotivated teachers. What if this isn't the case? What if the very existence of compulsory education is the problem? The founders of the public schooling system did not set out to create highly skilled, creative and competent individuals. They set out to create obedient workers who won't question their plight. Seen in this light, the public school system is a great success.

Join us on this episode of The Health and Wellness Show as we explore the topic of public education, its history and detriments as well as alternatives to keep your child and yourself -- if you're a product of the public school system -- from becoming a brainwashed zombie.

Stay tuned, as always, for Zoya's Pet Health segment where the topic will be natural sedatives for travelling pets.

SOTT Focus: The Health & Wellness Show: What have we done? Antibiotic resistance in the age of superbugs

antibiotics
Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin 1928 and it became available for widespread use in 1945. Since then people have benefited from the use of antibiotics in curing infections that would have previously sent them to their graves. Now, however, this golden age is coming to an end. Top researchers state that we are entering into the post-antibiotic era. Superbugs such as MSRA and CRE are on the rise and becoming increasingly difficult -- if not downright impossible -- to treat with our current stock of antibiotics and new pharmaceutical options are few and far between.

Join us on this episode of the Health and Wellness Show where we'll discuss how is it that what was once a boon for humanity has become a scourge. Does the responsibility lie with Big Pharma, Big Ag, family doctors or ourselves? Has the medical industry painted us into a corner or is the answer to antibiotic resistance to be found elsewhere?

Stay tuned for Zoya's Pet Health Segment where the topic is raisin toxicity in dogs.

It's ugly. It's fascinating, And it's fascinating in its ugliness.
