SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Iran War Winding Down or Escalating? Israel Leading Trump Towards Quagmire

iran war israel netanyahu newsreal

Trump's "short-term excursion" in Iran is going from bad to worse. And so are his incoherent positions on the situation and what to do about it. With gas prices jumping the world over, humanity is staring down the barrel of global food shortages and severe energy disruptions, while the US military is seriously considering direct military confrontation with Iranian forces to "free the Strait of Hormuz."

In the midst of all this, rumors are flying about Netanyahu's whereabouts, and 'someone' is carrying out missile strikes, in Iran's name, against high-profile military sites like the US-UK military base on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, against energy infrastructure targets in neutral countries, and against important cultural sites like Jerusalem's Old City.

'They' seem determined to cause global FUBAR. Can Trump do anything to stop them? Or has he become their hostage?

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: USA & Israel Confident of 'Victory' Despite Strong Iranian Resistance

Something's gotta give. Iran is being practically carpet-bombed, resulting in widespread civilian destruction. Despite near-total regional censorship, satellite imagery and some video footage is documenting mild-to-strong 'hits' on US bases and other assets across the whole region. Trump assures us Iran's military is 'destroyed', yet he acknowledges Iran's de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the high risks this presents for the regional and thus global economy.

The heavy criticism Trump has come under for 'blundering into war' overlooks something though: neither he nor the 'permanent govt' advisors he listens to is oblivious to the knock-on effects of what they're doing. However chaotic the situation appears - and the situation IS chaotic! - they're confident they can contain both Iran and the 'oil shock' situation they've created.

They are, after all, "history's actors," and the rest of us are left, as usual, "to study what they do..." They may be losing public support, but when has that ever counted in Western 'interventions' in the Mid-East?

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Operation Epic Fury - What Are The Americans Furious About?

hegseth operation epic fury newsreal
© Sott.net
One week into the US-Israeli attack on Iran, the mission has been extended from "4 days" to "4 weeks" to "4 months" to "as long as it takes." But what IS the mission? It was "regime change," but Iran is not "surrendering" despite its leadership being assassinated. In fact, surviving Iranian leadership is conveying that its counter-strikes will continue until ITS mission is accomplished. So, a war of attrition until one side blinks? In the meantime, damage to neighboring countries in the Middle East, and to the global economy, is already setting in. This missile war threatens to become a maelstrom of truly epic proportions.

Which brings us to what is motivating the Americans to do this. We all know they're in lockstep with an Israeli regime that has been salivating at the prospect of "taking out Iran" since 1979. But why the desperation, extreme rhetoric, absurdity and gross risk-taking from the Americans? What, truly, made them furious enough with Iran to even name their operation "Epic Fury"?

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Historic Miscalculation? US & Israel 'Decapitate Iranian Regime', Yet Iran is Striking Back HARD

israel iran trump war newsreal
© Sott.net
And so it begins. This time it isn't 'kayfabe' and 'negotiated strikes and counter-strikes'. The 'peace president', when announcing joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran on 28 February, said it would just take a few days, and gloated that he 'took out the regime' by targeting top Iranian leadership, including Ayatollah Khamenei. But Iran's swift and massive response - bombing 11 countries housing US and Israeli military bases and installations, including a British base in Cyprus, EU territory - now has Trump saying the war will 'last for weeks'...

What did they think was going to happen, that Iranians would 'rise up and take power from their oppressors'? The Americans appear to have truly believed their own propaganda. In reality, Iranians are defiantly rallying in support of their country, and government, while Muslims across the region are preparing to potentially join the fray and do as Iran has always sought: remove all American military forces from the Persian Gulf, if not the Middle East as a whole.

It's too early for predicting such an end-game, but in the meantime, it appears that, in the absence of Iranian popular support for US and Israeli 'regime intervention', the strategy could switch to attacking the people of Iran and the country's infrastructure, 'punishment' for not 'capitulating'.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: US-Iran Stand-Off: Art of the Trumpian Deal, or War For Oil/Israel?

trump iran war newsreal
© Sott.net
The 'major build-up' of US military forces in and around the Middle East sure makes it look like D-Day for 'war with Iran' is imminent. What people are overlooking, however, is that this is Trump doing his 'maximum pressure' routine with a view to 'deal-making', not blowing the world up to kingdom come. The situation is certainly tense, a lot is at stake, and Trump is under tremendous pressure by Israel to 'commit', but the world has changed, and Iran is not Syria or Libya. There will almost certainly be 'kinetic action', but perhaps not the kind envisioned by most.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Epstein Epistemology - Why Trump Wants 'Epstein Files' To Go Away

epstein trump mossad deep state newsreal
© Sott.net
It seems as if everyone who is reading and discussing 'the Epstein Files', most of which are emails exchanged between Jeffrey Epstein and the 'great and powerful', is assuming the worst from them: that Epstein himself, and his co-conspirators, engaged in child sex-trafficking and indulged in the worst abuse of minors, including 'ritual sacrifice' and even cannibalism.

While there is evidence for such dark practices in 'elite circles', the hard evidence for such in 'the Epstein Files' isn't there. When considering whether or not to 'assume the worst', consideration must also be given to the context in which these 'revelations' are occurring: Trump's second term and the major damage it can do to his intention of enacting the electoral mandate he was given by the American people.

In the meantime, Trump is also under tremendous pressure to 'regime change Iran', an issue he has made clear he does not want to see result in a protracted bloody conflict, but which 'the deep state', including Israel, seems determined to make happen. Is it by design or just bad luck that 'Epstein-gate', and the fear and loathing it is generating in the population, erupted at this time?

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: What People Don't Understand About The Epstein Files

epstein barr conspiracy israel blackmail newsreal
© Sott.net
The Epstein Files, however redacted, selective, and incomplete they are, are sufficiently damning for all 'with eyes to see' to understand - properly, and, really, for the first time - that we are indeed lorded over by corrupt, knuckle-dragging, deranged 'elites'. As online sleuths connect dots, solve cold cases, and shine a light on the worst crimes committed by Epstein and company, the glaring 'elephant in the room' remains the near-total inactivity by Western governments to actually do any of this investigative legwork themselves.

Why don't they? Well, because Epstein "belongs to intelligence," which means he did what he did FOR a strategic, long-term purpose. This week on NewsReal we lay out the case for 'the Epstein scandal' being deliberately 'exposed' - or, at minimum, once it 'organically came to light' in 2007, being instrumentalized - in order to inculcate mass complicity just through mere association with Epstein. And why would anyone go to such trouble? To 'buy' silence while genocide and a 'reordering of the Middle East' takes place...

It isn't all of 'the files', and it certainly isn't the 'kompromat' Epstein collected on all the rich and famous he schmoozed with for three decades, but there's enough in the 'final tranche' of some three million US law enforcement documents spanning multiple investigations into Epstein and his corrupt dealings to conclude that the political class (the whole world over, but particularly in the 'West') is broken beyond repair.

Quite how he gained and sustained access to the most important institutions and people in the world remains unclear, but it's nonetheless clear from his correspondences that he indeed had such top-tier access. While he was a tax-dodging 'financier' and a 'black market dealer', Epstein was first and foremost 'working for Israel', which means that his 'work' cannot be detached from the Israelis' current 'final solution' for Palestinians.

If you're going to commit genocide and get away with it, you need to 'have the dirt' on anyone and everyone influential who may potentially voice opposition to your diabolical scheme...

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Trump Unveils Gaza 'Beach Resort' at WEF, Weathers Minneapolis ICE Storm Back Home

Amidst growing protests in Minneapolis against the presence of "Trump's enforcers," more mayhem as ICE agents kill a SECOND local liberal disrupting their hunt for illegals. Are Americans losing their appetite for 'mass deportations'? Or will they 'follow the penguin to the mountains', as DHS seemed to suggest? Meanwhile, US support for extreme forms of 'disruption' in Iran has resulted in 3,100 deaths there in support of a manufactured 'revolution', but no American 'savior' airstrikes as yet.

Also this week, Canadian PM Mark Carney's speech heralding the end of American hegemony stole the show at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and undermined Trump's attempt to platform his son-in-law's 'master vision' for turning Gaza into a 'world-class beach resort'. 'Daddy' Trump was apparently placated, however, when NATO Sec.-Gen. Mark Rutte got him to back down from annexing Greenland by promising him more bases and mineral rights on the Danish territory.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Does Trump's 'Scramble for Greenland' Spell End of NATO?

trump greenland starlink iran newsreal

Trump's Greenland grab has finally got the Euros asking geostrategic questions about the wisdom of over-dependence on American 'military protection'. But is it 'too little, too late'? They insist there's no way Greenland will become American territory, but Trump has issued tariffs against his erstwhile allies, and a June deadline. If NATO is coming apart at the seams, what about the 'Five Eyes' of the anglophone countries? Canada's abrupt shift towards "strategic partnership" with China signals that that 'Western alliance' is ending too.

Meanwhile, as yet another Iranian 'color revolution' comes to a screeching halt thanks, perhaps, to Russian high-tech assistance with knocking out the protesters' Starlink internet access, it appears that American-Israeli 'humanitarian intervention' (read: decapitation strikes) in Tehran has been stalled, for now. As we've already seen this year, however, Trumpian 'regime change' isn't necessarily bloody: Venezuela's government was apparently in contact with its US counterparts "for months" prior to Maduro's surprise capture.
