Russia's success in absorbing everything NATO and the Kiev regime has thrown at its military defenses in the newly-acquired regions is now all but confirmed in Western capitals. Though they lament that "Putin's victory is terrifying," they nonetheless acknowledge that Russia has won. The US government may yet extend the war with further weapons dumps in Ukraine, but Washington knows this won't substantially change anything.

Meanwhile, American weapons are pouring into Israel, where they're duly dumped onto defenceless Palestinians in Gaza. This week on NewsReal, Joe & Niall highlight the extreme contrast between the two wars: one is a war between two armies on civilian-evacuated, fixed terrain, and the other on densely civilian-populated terrain - a 'war' so evil that its genocidal intent is laid bare for all to see.

I take exception to the use of the term "Anglo-Americans" in this context. Should it not instead read: "Asshole US government warmongers"? "Anglo-Americans" are not supporting Israel's attack on Gaza. Any more than "African-Americans" are doing so. We all pay taxes into the beast of "our" military-industrial-complex, but we are, after all, slaves of it, so..... forgive us (African-Americans included)? SMDH.

AAF You are complaining about the term Anglo-American where "Anglo-" is a hyphenated modifier. Sometimes this usage is the correct interpretation, particularly in the realm of domestic USA-ian politics.

In the realm of Global Geo-Politics, however, "Anglo-" is not a modifier of "American", but rather a partner in crime: the Anglos (United-Kingdomians) and the Americans (USA-ians). As the most populous 2 countries of the 5-eyes (USA, England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand), "Anglo-American" is an oft encountered shorthand, used to describe power-centers that for centuries have been architects and staunch supporters of human misery and suffering in all corners of the world.

Different context, different meaning.

AAF My friend misunderstood it.The author did not intend to refer to the ethnic group strcte, i.e., for example, African Americans.

This is a direct reference to the term Anglo-Saxon.

Only the Saxons were replaced by Americans.

And ethnic references cannot be avoided, because both the Anglo are the former Aglos tribe and the Saxons are the former Sassanid tribe.

This is due to history. Formally, it was the Queen of England who financed the expedition that was to discover America. According to general laws, what is now called the USA belongs to England.

The fact is that many people were needed, so colonists were already organized in many countries, and the ethnic diversity is large.

Legally, the US is owned by the UK.

I'm willing to bet that Washington, DC is British Crown land. In any case, it is known that Washington is NOT US TERRITORY. It has its own constitution.

Which MATTERS EXTREMELY!

This means that the President of the USA staying in Washington and signing legal documents on behalf of the USA... IS A PRESIDENT ABROAD!!!

parzival And your response is exactly why movies like this one mentioned, intentionally or not provoke deeper thought. It pointed out the flaws in human nature seen daily. It gave no solution. And why should it, it up to us by free choice to figure it out or not.

One goes down one path or another. Each is labeled: path #1 slowly hate humanity more and become like the legions

Path #2 learn to love, try understanding the others point of view, have constructive conversations, listen with intent, speak without cognitive bias.

Each path leads to its reward.

Movies like this evoke emotions and thoughts.

I've come across such a description where the author notes that the image in the living room changes four times during the film. And the wallpaper in the bedroom, depicting it, also be changing... the sea is getting rougher.

But the author did not notice the most important issues in this case :-)
