Here we go again. 2 years on from "Israel's 9/11," public and international pressure has once again brought pressure to bear on an immediate settlement of Israel's 'war against Hamas'. Netanyahu, on his 4th visit to Washington DC this year, has sort-of agreed to Trump's peace plan, which would see all remaining Israeli hostages released by Hamas, the IDF withdraw from what remains of Gaza's cities and settlements, and the Strip's functional management temporarily taken over by an 'international executive'.

Sounds great, and sounds like it would end the mayhem for good. The problem, however, is that we've already been at this point on multiple occasions during the last 2 years - and, each time, Israel has cited one reason or another for why it disregarded its apparent commitment to 'solving the crisis' in favor of continuing to 'cleanse' Gaza... leaving skeptics with the impression that Israel doesn't want the war to end, and that its real goal is the removal of all Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

How close are they to achieving their (real) goal? By our estimate, about half-way, so... 2 more years to go?

A month before Charlie Kirk's killing, billionaire pro-Israel moneyman Bill Ackman arranged an intervention in the Hamptons during which sources say he and others "hammered" Kirk for the conservative leader's growing criticism of Israeli influence in Washington. Kirk came away fretting about Israeli "blackmail," sources say, as he contemplated a Catholic conversion.

On September 11, one day after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, billionaire pro-Israel moneyman Bill Ackman took to Twitter/X to trumpet his relationship with the late conservative operative. "I feel incredibly privileged to have spent a day and shared a meal with @charliekirk11 this summer. He was a giant of a man."

The Grayzone has spoken to five people with intimate knowledge of Kirk's meeting with Ackman, which was held in early August. According to one source, Kirk was left upset after the gathering turned into an "intervention" where he was "hammered" for his increasingly skeptical views on the US special relationship with Israel, and for platforming prominent conservative critics of Israel at his TPUSA events.

Since publishing this report, The Grayzone has learned from one attendee of the Hamptons event that Ackman convened the influencers under the auspices of a discussion about Zohran Mamdani and the supposed threat he posed to the West if elected mayor of New York. But the meeting went off the rails when Ackman personally confronted Kirk about his views on Israel. The public face of UK Lawyers for Israel, Natasha Hausdorff, joined in the argument, and began "screaming" at Kirk, according to the attendee.

The suspect arrested in connection with Charlie Kirk's assassination at Utah Valley University Wednesday was released after the FBI announced agents had detained the wrong person for a second time.


Comment: There're two ways of interpreting that: sheer institutional incompetence, or deliberate interference by the conspirators.


Kirk's killer remains on the run — with the FBI and local cops hunting for him across the Salt Lake City region.

"The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement," FBI Director Kash Patel posted to X Wednesday night, just over an hour after he announced "the subject of the horrific shooting" had been arrested.

"Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency."

The wrongly accused man was nabbed after police initially cuffed - and then released - an older man, who had been seen in social media videos being escorted from the Orem campus following the fatal shooting.


Comment: This man (and the second man who was detained then released, and who was in possession of an air rifle) was probably a 'decoy'. His name is George Zinn, and he's a known political activist/agitator in Utah.


Authorities said Wednesday that the second suspect was identified through campus security footage.

He was also wearing dark clothing, police said.

Comment: Kirk's assassination was probably not primarily motivated by a need to silence the man himself. He was a relatively 'mainstream' conservative figure. But it could certainly be the case that his brutal death is intended to silence others, notably Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, whose reach is arguably bigger and more potent. In the end though, the main intention is probably the one we're witnessing in the social media space: rage, division, and bitter civic disarray.
