Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: Ancient 'hunger stones' - The European drought cycle clock

The Hunger Stones stories making media rounds this week, but not too much analysis on the subject except the Physics.org article. I found a PDF that goes back 1000 years in the Czech Lands with droughts and my conclusion is a repeat of 1770s type event happening now based on the last 1000 years of drought data and the water levels lower than at any period on the Hunger Stone.

Also August winter warnings in the USA & Canada for multiple feet of snow and 20F below normal temperatures.

"Arctic air, bitter winds, widespread snow": Farmers almanac predicting another brutal winter for US

The 2019 Farmer's Almanac was published Monday, and with it comes a hotly (or coldly, as the case may be) anticipated bit of meteorological prognosticating: the Almanac's yearly winter predictions.

"Contrary to some stories floating around on the internet, our time-tested, long-range formula is pointing towards a very long, cold and snow-filled winter," Farmer's Almanac editor Peter Geiger said in a statement. "We stand by our forecast and formula, which accurately predicted most of the winter storms last year as well as this summer's steamy, hot conditions."

Utilizing its mathematical and astronomical formula that Geiger said was developed in 1818, the winter of 2018 and 2019 will feature "arctic air, blustery, bitter winds, sharp drops in temperatures, and widespread snow showers and squalls," with a particularly nasty snowstorm predicted for March 20-23.

Geiger said it's likely that snow will begin in December and wintry conditions will delay the onset of spring into late March.

Comment: In an ominous sign of what's in store this winter in the Northern hemisphere, communities from Austria to America are already seeing the first signs of snow: And that's while countries in the Southern Hemisphere, where it is actually winter, are recording some of their coldest temperatures ever:

Global cooling: Jackson Hole ski resort in Wyoming gets its first glimpse of winter... in August

snow
Today, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) saw its first glimpse of the 2018-19 winter season—and it's only August 27th.

The Wyoming ski area received several inches of snow at the top of the mountain leaving resort employees fully bundled in winter jackets and snow goggles.

According to JHMR, those closely watching the storm are excited by predictions "for another pulse of the storm... showing potential snow totals of 4-8 inches in the mountains into Tuesday morning."

Greenland Ice Sheet far above the mean

graph
This chart from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) speaks for itself.

The blue line shows Greenland ice-mass balance as of today. It is far, far greater than the mean - the average, if you will - from 1981 to 2010 (dark grey line).

I doubt that you'll see this reported by the mainstream media.

Shallow 6.4 magnitude earthquake strikes off of Indonesia's West Timor

quake
An earthquake of 6.4 magnitude struck Indonesia today.

The quake, which registered 6.4 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Indonesia's West Timor island at around 8.15am (2.15pm local time), the US Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed.

The huge tremor struck at a depth of 5.3 miles in the sea but no tsunami warning has been issued for the area.

Just hours before earthquake a smaller 4.7 magnitude tremor hit the northside of the island.

There are no reports of damage or casualties at this stage.

Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: Manam eruption anomalies and massive wheat declines globally

volcano
Manam Volcano in Papua New Guinea erupted with ash plume to 50,000 feet, but so many anomalies with the eruption footage, day after helicopter views of clear peak and non ash covered trees next to the crater begs the question "What really happened?".

Wheat globally at 2007 levels and forecast to drop lower causing nations to ceae exports, which will create shortages and civil unrest as we saw in 2007-2008 through Africa and Middle East.

Its going to be a wild ride as dozens of locations with summer August snow this week.

Floods leave 7 dead, thousands displaced in Taiwan - 3 feet of rain in 24 hours

Taiwan floods and 6,000 evacuated
Taiwan floods and 6,000 evacuated
A low-pressure system brought torrential rain and flooding to parts of central and southern Taiwan from 23 to 26 August, 2018.

Seven people have died as a result of the severe weather, including 3 people who died in the city of Kaohsiung when scaffolding fell from a building.

As many as 116 people were injured and around 6,000 people were evacuated. As of 26 August, around 600 of those displaced remained in shelters.

The Central Weather Bureau had issued a warning for 'extremely torrential rain' (500 mm or more in 24 hours) as the storm loomed. In the event, numerous locations recorded more than 700 mm of rain in 24 hours and some locations over 900 mm.

While examining the invasive python population in Florida, researchers stumbled across the unexpected: a kind of hybrid super snake.

A small number of the invasive pythons were found to be a crossbreed between two separate species, the Burmese and Indian pythons, and what's more is that this hybrid snake has the potential to thrive in new environments, according to a new study conducted by scientists with the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

"We found that out of 400 Burmese pythons investigated, 13 had mitochondrial genetic signatures from the Indian python, a separate species," Margaret Hunter, a research geneticist at USGS who led the study, told ABC News.

Global cooling: August snow falling at Glacier National Park, Montana

While the Howe Ridge fire keeps burning on the west side of Glacier National Park near Lake McDonald, Mother Nature is busy adding some touches of white elsewhere.

The view from the Park's Logan Pass webcam on Monday morning shows snow falling -- and even sticking in some places -- in the higher elevations.

StormTracker meteorologist Lewis Dortch says snow levels will drop to around 6,000 feet in Glacier National Park -- as well as in the nearby Flathead National Forest.

The National Weather Service office in Missoula has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for elevations above 6,000 feet in Glacier National Park as well as for the Whitefish and Flathead Mountain ranges in Northwest Montana.

Areas above 7,000 feet could see around 1"-to-3" of snow with locally heavier amounts possible.

Global cooling: August snowfall for Canmore, Banff and other Alberta mountain communities

In some parts of Canada, the end of summer vacation is bringing some of the hottest temperatures of the year.

In other areas, it's bringing weather more typically experienced in December than during the last week of August.

Some B.C. communities saw temperatures dip near or below the freezing mark Monday morning. A temperature of -1.5 C was recorded at Burns Lake at 5 a.m. One hour later, the temperature in Prince George dipped to 0 C.

The cold snap marked Prince George's second unusual weather phenomenon in eight days, following the ash-filled skies that had shrouded the city from the sun as smoke from some of the province's hundreds of active wildfires drifted over the region.

Temperatures in the low single digits were also reported Monday in some areas around the B.C.-Alberta border.

Traffic cameras captured snow falling on Alberta's Highway 1 near the community of Canmore.
