Over 80 percent of Americans are 'concerned about declining moral behavior in our nation'

beach party
Could it be possible that Americans are more concerned about declining standards of morality than most of us initially thought? A very surprising new survey conducted by LifeWay Research has discovered that a whopping 81 percent of Americans agree with this statement: "I am concerned about declining moral behavior in our nation." If you follow my work on a regular basis, you already know that moral decay is a theme that I keep coming back to time after time. To me it is quite obvious that moral behavior is deteriorating all around us, but I had no idea that so many other Americans were deeply concerned about the exact same thing.

Since so many people agree that we are facing a moral crisis, the solution should be very simple right?

Unfortunately it is more complicated than that, because there is very little agreement about what our moral values should actually be. Once upon a time the Bible formed the basis for morality in American society, but today things are entirely different.

The number of deaths caused by air pollution in Britain is higher than that in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil, and double the rate in the United States, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the WHO's 2017 report, pollution caused 25.7 deaths per 100,000 people in Britain, the 15th worst rate in Europe and twice as high as Sweden, which topped the list of the cleanest countries in the world.

By comparison, pollution was responsible for 23.5 deaths in Mexico per 100,000, and 15.8 in Brazil and 24.6 in Argentina. In the US, the amount of deaths was half the amount at 12.1.

FDA/CDC warn certain Flint blood tests may be underestimating lead levels

Federal officials are warning that certain lead tests manufactured by Magellan Diagnostics, which have been commonly used to test those affected by the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, may provide inaccurate results that underestimate lead levels.

On Wednesday, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) both issued warnings about the validity of test results from Magellan Diagnostics' LeadCare analyzers. The agencies say the devices "may provide results that are lower than the actual level of lead in the blood."

The FDA's warning was issued for all four lead testing systems from Magellan Diagnostics including LeadCare, LeadCare II, LeadCare Plus and LeadCare Ultra. The agency is advising that lead tests using blood samples that are drawn from a vein should no longer be used.

"The FDA is deeply concerned by this situation and is warning laboratories and health care professionals that they should not use any Magellan Diagnostics' lead tests with blood drawn from a vein," Jeffrey Shuren, the director of the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health, said in the statement.

The FDA believes the issue may date back to 2014 when the Flint water crisis began.

The skies sure seem to be unfriendly lately.

The latest air travel incident occurred on a Monday night flight from Jamaica to Toronto.

From WFTV9:
An Air Canada flight was diverted to Orlando International Airport after officials said a passenger became aggressive, attacked the crew with pots of coffee and tried to open the cabin door while the plane was still in the air.

The man, later identified as Brandon Michael Courneyea, had to be secured to his seat by crew members and other passengers using zip ties, a federal criminal complaint said.
According to the complaint, Courneyea yelled at other passengers for "looking at him" and then headed to the back of the plane, picked up a pot of coffee, and began swinging it at crew members.

Russian ministry's trophy hunter turns killer

Aleksander Shilin
Aleksander Shilin's social-media accounts featured numerous photographs of him in exotic locations, standing with rifle in hand over the carcasses of big-game animals.
Police found a gruesome scene in an apartment on the southwestern edge of Moscow on May 15. The previous evening, a man shot and killed his girlfriend and her 4-year-old daughter before turning his hunting rifle on himself.

Russia's Investigative Committee issued a dry statement: "It was established that the woman and her daughter were visiting an old friend, who took out a hunting rifle and shot them each at least two times. The mother and daughter died at the scene. After that, the man committed suicide."

Various media soon reported the gunman was a senior Foreign Ministry official named Aleksandr Shilin. The tabloid Moskovsky Komsomlets reported on May 15 that the ministry had confirmed those reports, but officially it has confirmed only that its employees were involved.

Boy crisis: Is feminism killing young boys?

young boy
In a late-2015 TEDx talk, The Boy Crisis: A Sobering Look at the State of Our Boys, Dr. Warren Farrell discussed how those who support equality for all promote perspectives that shortchange one group, in particular: young males. Among other things, he noted that nine-year-old boys are killing themselves four times as often as girls, and yet women's organizations have remained oddly silent. These so-called advocates of fairness have been quick to claim ownership of the "gender equality" megaphone for their own purposes, but have not taken its message to heart in a meaningfully inclusive way.

In truth, feminist's efforts to level the playing field are targeted in one direction - toward the privileged and protected class of women. Rob Whitley Ph. D. reported in Psychology Today, The European Parliament Committee for Women's Rights and Gender Equality produced a February 2017 report that was adopted by Parliament and ignored any issues for boys and men. The United Kingdom's boy suicide rate parallels America. There is a disturbing lack of interest in dealing with boys' equality concerns, especially those related to the challenges young males face and how they are treated - or mistreated - during those times in their lives when they are most vulnerable. Simply put, the gendered lens has been firmly fixed on female inequality and the national conversation on this topic is focused solely on them. Sadly, our boys are losing out.
