Your living standards have declined dramatically

supermarket shelves
In the old days, shopping for groceries used to be a joy. By old days, I mean two years ago. Now, it is shocking and miserable. You look at these prices and wonder if you can even afford normal foods we took for granted.

Everyone knows about the egg problem, which is being chalked up to a bird flu, just as Putin was responsible for the gas price and greedy meat processors caused beef prices to soar. Sorry but this is ridiculous. The price of eggs is up dramatically because all the costs associated with making them available to consumers are up.

At first, there was just a shortage because grocery chains resisted price increases. Once they came back to the shelves, the cost dramatically rose. You are going to pay more for the worst eggs than the best egg cost only one year ago. Unless you know someone with chickens or have them yourself, you are stuck with thin shells and light-yellow yokes forever, while paying through the nose for them.

The bottom line is undeniable: in a mere two years, many of the things you loved, healthy food for your families — I'm not talking about the all-carb diet they want us to adopt — has now doubled in price.

Seven people were killed in a mass shooting in the town of Half Moon Bay in California on Monday, police have confirmed. The bloodshed comes just two days after a gunman shot 11 people dead during a Lunar New Year celebration in the Los Angeles area.

California Governor Gavin Newsom said he had been visiting the victims of Saturday's Monterey Park attack in hospital when he was told that another shooting had occurred, this time in the northern part of the state. It's been "tragedy upon tragedy," Newsom wrote on Twitter.

The attack in Half Moon Bay, some 48km (30 miles) south of San Francisco, took place at two nearby agricultural enterprises.

Four people were shot dead and one was seriously injured at a mushroom farm, while three more bodies were later discovered at a soil farm, located about a mile away. All of the victims were Chinese-American workers, according to police.

FDA to propose yearly COVID vaccines like annual flu shots for Americans

covid vaccine
The Food and Drug Administration on Monday proposed approaching COVID-19 vaccines like the annual flu shot many Americans receive in order to protect against mutations of the virus.

The proposal aims to simplify future vaccination efforts. Under this strategy, most adults and children would get a once-a-year shot to protect against the mutating virus. They would no longer have to keep track of how many shots they've received or many months it's been since their last booster.

In documents posted online, FDA scientists say many Americans now have "sufficient preexisting immunity" against the coronavirus because of vaccination, infection, or a combination of the two.

That baseline of protection should be enough, the agency says, to move to an annual booster against the latest strains in circulation and make COVID-19 vaccinations more like the yearly flu shot.

The FDA will also ask its panel to vote on whether all vaccines should target the same strains. That step would be needed to make the shots interchangeable, doing away with the current complicated system of primary vaccinations and boosters.

More than a million households will be paid to cut back their electricity tonight as part of an emergency scheme to prevent blackouts on one of the coldest days of the year.

The National Grid will reward those participating in the Demand Flexibility Service who voluntarily reduce their usage between 5pm and 6pm, preventing the nation's supply from being overstretched.

It is the first time National Grid has implemented its DFS scheme since it was announced last November, the Times reports, as the UK prepares for freezing temperatures this week.

Comment: The British establishment has been acclimatising citizens to the looming threat of blackouts for many months now: UK's National Grid sparks panic by warning of imminent blackouts but then cancels

US military to probe rash of blood cancer diagnoses in officers working at nuclear missile base

Nine military officers who had worked decades ago at a nuclear missile base in Montana have been diagnosed with blood cancer and there are "indications" the disease may be linked to their service, according to military briefing slides obtained by The Associated Press. One of the officers has died.

All of the officers, known as missileers, were assigned as many as 25 years ago to Malmstrom Air Force Base, home to a vast field of 150 Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile silos. The nine officers were diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, according to a January briefing by U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Daniel Sebeck.

Missileers ride caged elevators deep underground into a small operations bunker encased in a thick wall of concrete and steel. They remain there sometimes for days, ready to turn the launch keys if ordered to by the president.

"There are indications of a possible association between cancer and missile combat crew service at Malmstrom AFB," Sebeck said in slides presented to his Space Force unit this month. The "disproportionate number of missileers presenting with cancer, specifically lymphoma" was concerning, he said.

Flashback Alanis Morissette claims music industry is run by pedophiles: 'They're ALL child rapists'

Alanis Morissette
Singer Alanis Morissette
Singer Alanis Morissette has blown the whistle on how the music industry is literally "run by pedophiles" in an explosive new video.

In a documentary called 'Jagged,' which premieres Tuesday at the Toronto International Film Festival, 47-year-old Morissette claims that the entertainment industry is run by elite pedophiles who routinely rape and abuse children.

According to Morissette, she was forced to have sex with multiple men in the entertainment industry when she was just a teenager.

"It took me years in therapy to even admit there had been any kind of victimization on my part," Morissette said. "I would always say I was consenting, and then I'd be reminded like 'Hey, you were 15, you're not consenting at 15.' Now I'm like, 'Oh yeah, they're all pedophiles. It's all statutory rape."

Comment: She's not the only musician who has spoken up about the ugly side of the music business. Previously, the ex-Pussycat Dolls singer Kaya Jones came forward detailing her experiences in Hollywood, saying that the band was basically a "prostitution ring" for record executives to pimp out.

And the grift goes on: Architect of divisive CRT theory charges up to $100k for speeches

© Getty/The Women's MarchCRT creator Kimberlé Crenshaw pockets nearly half a million dollars a year from her law professor jobs - also charges up to $100,000 for public speeches
Kimberlé Crenshaw also runs a school for teachers about how they can incorporate theory she created in 1989 into their lessons - and pulls in $435k from two prestigious academic positions

When Kimberlé Crenshaw first unveiled critical race theory to a small group of fellow academics in 1989, little did she know that over 30 years later it would pit parents against teachers across America.

Prof Crenshaw, 63, also can't have known just how much she would stand to gain financially and professionally from her theory and its toxic effect.

It turned her into a superstar of academia and activism. Now she earns at least $450,000 a year from teaching positions at UCLA and Columbia and up to $100,000 from delivering speeches - not to mention possible income from her own think tank and podcast.

The divisive theory, through which America's history is seen as racist, centers on the idea that racism is systemic in the nation's institutions and that they function to maintain the dominance of white people in society. It has turned schools into battlegrounds as outraged parents fight to stop their children being indoctrinated, while the GOP has legislated against it.

Comment: Kimberlé Crenshaw is of that class of ponerizing influences called 'spellbinders', who with flawed but appealing rhetoric, lure in those who's sense of reality has been damaged.

Ponerology (pgs 147-8):
Spellbinders are generally the carriers of various pathological factors, e.g., paranoid characteropathy and, more often, psychopathy.Individuals with malformations of their personalities frequently play similar roles, although the social scale of influence remains small (family or neighborhood) and does not cross certain boundaries of decency. Spellbinders are characterized by pathological egotism, mostly of the secondary type, i.e., not directly rooted in childhood. Such a person is forced by some internal causes to make an early choice between two possibilities: the first is forcing other people to think and experience things in a manner similar to his own; the second is a feeling of being lonely and different, a pathological misfit in social
life. Sometimes the choice is either snake-charming or suicide'

Triumphant repression of deeply disturbing self-critical associations from the field of consciousness gradually gives rise to the phenomena of conversive thinking, paralogistics, paramoralisms, and the use of reversive blockades. These stream so profusely from the mind and mouth of the spellbinder that they flood and enslave the average person's mind. Everything becomes subordinated to the spellbinder's over-compensatory conviction that they are exceptional, sometimes even messianic.

This mission requires an ideology which is at least partly true and whose value is supposedly superior. However, if we analyze the exact functions of such an ideology in the spellbinder's personality, we perceive that it is a means of self-charming, useful for
repressing those tormenting self-critical associations into the subconscious. The ideology's instrumental role in influencing other people serves above all the spellbinder himself.

These spellbinders are not wrong when, extrapolating from past experience, they believe they will always find converts to their ideology. It is only when it turns out that their influence extends to only a limited minority, while most people's attitude to their activities remains critical or painfully disturbed, that they feel shock and disappointment (or even paramoral indignation). The spellbinder is thus confronted with a choice: either withdraw back into his void or strengthen his position by improving the effectiveness of his activities.

The spellbinder places on a high moral plane anyone who has succumbed to his influence and incorporated the experiential manner he imposes. He showers such people with attention and property, if possible. Critics are met with "moral" outrage. It can even be proclaimed that the compliant minority is in fact the moral majority (e.g., the Bolsheviks),186 since it professes the best ideology and honors a leader whose qualities are above average.

In a healthy society, the activities of spellbinders meet with criticism tinged with mocking humor and a sense of their pathology
effective enough to stifle them quickly. However, when they are preceded by conditions operating destructively upon common sense and social order — such as social injustice, cultural backwardness, the power of privileged but mentally primitive groups, or intellectually limited autocratic rulers sometimes manifesting pathological traits — spellbinders' activities find fertile ground and can lead entire societies into large-scale human tragedy.

'They're advocating for things like abolishing prisons': DeSantis discusses why he banned African American Studies course

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis discussed his reasons for barring public high schools in the state from offering the AP African American Studies course presently in development by the College Board.

The Florida Department of Education recently informed the board that the course's content is "inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value," adding that the state would reconsider the course should the organization make the material "lawful" and "historically accurate." DeSantis, who signed legislation last year preventing the state's government schools from teaching discrimination on the basis of race, color, or sex, detailed a number of his concerns with the course in a press conference.

He told reporters:
"They're advocating things like abolishing prisons. Now that's a radical political position. You're free to take that in your own life, I don't think very many people think that would actually work, but how is that being taught as fact?

"It's not fair to say that somehow abolishing prisons is linked to black experiences, that that's what black people want. I think they want law and order, just like anybody else wants law and order. So that is more ideology being used under the guise of history, and we want to do history."
DeSantis believes radical left-wing content in the AP African American Studies curriculum, which is currently undergoing pilots at five dozen schools across the nation, stands blatantly at odds with the policies preferred by racial minorities.

Seattle medical examiner's office is running out of space for dead bodies amid fentanyl crisis

fentynal crisis seattle

The drug epidemic in Washington state is so bad that some local coroner's offices are at capacity or have nearly run out of space for the bodies of those who have died from overdoses.

According to officials with the King County Medical Examiner's Office, the department is struggling to keep up with the number of incoming bodies as the fentanyl crisis continues and worsens.

'A key indication of just how bad things are at the end of 2022 and likely to get worse [in] 2023, the medical examiner's office is now struggling with the issue of storing bodies because the fentanyl-related death toll continues to climb,' Seattle-King County Public Health Director Dr. Faisal Khan recently said.

Comment: Conservative outlet KTTH weighs in:
The drug crisis has worsened considerably since Washington Democrats decriminalized drugs after the state supreme court deemed the state's felony possession law unconstitutional. Democrats had the option of changing one word in the law — adding "knowingly" to the possession law — but they opted to make it a misdemeanor, which is not charged. Effectively, Democrats legalized drugs over Republican objections.

The crisis will worsen in 2023

Democrats show no interest in fixing their mess. Rather than focusing on re-criminalizing drugs, they're pushing bills to expand the availability of fentanyl testing strips. Obviously, that won't make a dent in the fatal overdoses. But Democrats refuse to condemn drug use, claiming any judgment would stigmatize addicts and prevent them from seeking treatment. Under the current permissive drug strategy, addicts aren't seeking treatment and homelessness is rising.

"The biggest driver of these fatal overdoses involves fentanyl in white powder and in fake pills, which are flooding the streets," Dr. Khan noted.

Where are the drugs coming from? Our open southern border and chaotic point of entries with Mexico. President Joe Biden maintains an open-border policy, with Democrats doing nothing to tighten security. China is sending ingredients to produce fentanyl to Mexico, where drug cartels manufacture and distribute the deadly drug on our streets.

'Gay clubs' run in seminaries, says Pope Benedict in posthumous attack on Francis

Gay "clubs" operate openly in Catholic seminaries, the institutions that prepare men for the priesthood, the late Pope Benedict XVI has claimed in a posthumously published book scathing of Pope Francis's progressive agenda.

In a blistering attack on the state of the Catholic Church under his successor's papacy, Benedict, who died on Dec 31 at the age of 95, said that the vocational training of the next generation of priests is on the verge of "collapse".

He claimed that some bishops allow trainee priests to watch pornographic films as an outlet for their sexual urges.

Benedict gave instructions that the book, What Christianity Is, should be published after his death.
