EU rules out Tucker Carlson sanctions - TASS

The EU has no plans to sanction American journalist Tucker Carlson over his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports, citing sources. The much-anticipated face-to-face has been confirmed by the Kremlin and is expected to be aired at 6pm EST (11pm GMT) on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Newsweek magazine, citing several current and former EU lawmakers, reported that Brussels could ban the former Fox News host from visiting countries in the bloc. MEP Guy Verhofstadt, who once served as Belgian prime minister, suggested that the EU could look into Carlson's case, given that Brussels sanctions anyone who assists Russian President Vladimir Putin - who he called a "war criminal."

Carlson said he wanted to talk to Putin because it is his "duty to inform people," especially with regard to the Ukraine conflict, since the US provides support for Kiev. He added that many Western media outlets "lie to their readers and viewers" by promoting Kiev's position while downplaying Russia's.

Comment: We'll see how the EU Council reacts once the interview is released on February 8th at 6PM EST. More from RT:
Conservative American journalist Tucker Carlson has said on Instagram that his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be aired at 6pm EST on Thursday.

Carlson, who launched his own network on X (formerly Twitter) in June 2023, traveled to Moscow for a sit-down with Putin. The Kremlin confirmed the meeting on Tuesday.

The Russian president rarely grants one-on-one interviews to foreign press. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Putin has "no desire" to speak to Western media outlets that have "completely one-sided" opinions and "aren't even trying to be impartial."

Ukrainian refugees in Germany aren't working - Bild

The German government's drive to get more Ukrainian refugees into the workforce has been failing in light of the substantial financial support provided to those seeking shelter in the country, the tabloid Bild reported on Monday.

According to the paper, only 25.2% of the refugees from Ukraine in Germany are currently employed, compared with 78% in Denmark and 66% in the Czech Republic. The share is also significantly higher in several other EU states, including Poland (65%), Sweden (56%), and the Netherlands (50%).

The report indicated that across the EU Ukrainian refugees receive temporary protection status without having to go through a complex asylum procedure, are integrated into health and social systems, and are allowed to work immediately. However, financial support programs for refugees vary. In Germany, single adults or single parents receive €563 ($604) per month, while children are provided between €357 and €471 depending on their age. In addition, housing and additional costs are covered. The Czech Republic provides €200 in emergency assistance, while the cost of living in a hostel is covered for a limited period of time. In Poland, Ukrainian refugees are authorized to receive a one-time payment of €66 and a child benefit of €110 per month.

The German government has been taking steps to speed up the integration of tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees into its labor market, calling on companies to loosen their German language requirements and offering extra training. Last year, Labor Minister Hubertus Heil announced the launch of the so-called 'job turbo' initiative with the aim of putting millions of refugees - especially Ukrainians - to work.

Comment: Yet another way that Germany's support for the Ukrainian cause is coming back to bite them.

British countryside is a "racist and colonial white space", National Trust, RSPCA and WWF tell MPs

woman with kids field
The British countryside is a "racist colonial" white space, a group of wildlife and countryside charities including the RSPCA, WWF and National Trust have claimed. The Telegraph has the story.
Wildlife and Countryside Link, a charity umbrella group whose members include the RSPCA, WWF and National Trust, made the claim in evidence provided to Parliament on racism and its influence on the natural world.

MPs in an all-party parliamentary group (APPG) were informed that the British countryside has been influenced by "racist colonial legacies" which have created an environment some fear is "dominated by white people".

Comment: White people in a predominately white area, the horror!

The country's green spaces are governed by "white British cultural values", the report argues, and the perception that the countryside is a "white space" prevents people from other ethnic backgrounds from enjoying the outdoors.

The Wildlife and Countryside Link report was submitted to MPs on the APPG for Race and Community, which had called for evidence on the links between "systemic racism" and climate change.

Comment: Ask stupid questions, get stupid answers.

Comment: Societal trust, the real glue that keeps a country together in tough times, is collapsing and that's in part due to buffoons like this prattling on about non-existent, non-issues.

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is hosting a leadership event this Saturday that is targeted at all students except straight white males.

The "focus" of the Catalyst "Leadership Development" event is "for students who self-identify as Multicultural (Asian/South Asian/Hmong, Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American, Latino/a/x/e/Hispanic), Womxn, and/or LGBTQIA2S+."

However, another part of the sign-up form says all UWO students are allowed to register. "This opportunity is open for all UWO students registered for the Spring 2024 semester."

Similar language about "all UWO students" is not found on the listing by the Women's Center, which is under the university's Campus Center for Equity and Diversity. The event is hosted by the Center for Student Success and Belonging.

The Uniform Law Commission is the biggest threat to freedom that you've never heard of

For the second year in a row, a powerful, agenda-driven organization posing as a "nonpartisan" group of lawyers is at the center of important legislative battles raging in states across the country.

The group is called the Uniform Law Commission (ULC), and although the organization has clearly aligned itself in recent years with far-left values, it remains one of the most influential forces in nearly every state capitol, including in the deepest-of-deep-red states.

Thus far in the 2024 legislative session, perhaps the biggest fight involving the ULC centers around a bill proposed in South Dakota, where the state legislature and the governor's office are controlled by Republicans. (Although it's important to note that similar legislation will likely soon be offered in other states, and the ULC will almost certainly be the primary opponent in those states as well.)

Firsthand: A meeting with Ukrainian POWs and Ukrainian deserters fighting for Russia

UK POW
© MirjamPhoto copyAt the top are the Ukrainian prisoners of war (POW) and at the bottom are the deserters who are now fighting for Russia.
The West talked about the glorious Ukrainian army, which was invincible and would bring the Russians to their knees. But after seeing it, my own experience, last week and hearing the reports, the Ukrainian army is a "pathetic bunch of misery".

Last week I visited the Lugansk People's Republic now part of Russia, or as it is called NovoRussia and had the opportunity to speak with Ukrainian prisoners of war (POW's) as well as defected Ukrainian soldiers who are now fighting for the Russian army.

The first visit was to the POWs who were all basically sitting at a table "sadly", their heads bowed down full of what I guessed was shame and perhaps anger on the part of some.

My question to them, or actually it was not a question but comments, was how it actually came to the point that "brother" people are standing against each other on the battlefield. I also told them that the "majority", i.e. the non-indoctrinated population in the West, now knows that the war is a proxy war of the U.S. and its NATO allies and they are the proxies who have to die for the West. The West also now has a new war, the war against Palestine, the escalation in the Middle East and arms supplies to Ukraine have almost stopped.

The book Biden admin tried to get Amazon to ban

Republican-led state legislatures have been leading the way to keep pornographic materials out of schools and public libraries. While reasonable people wouldn't want books depicting sex acts available to young children, the radical left was outraged and accused conservatives of civil rights violations for "banning books."

"Every stride forward in America is met with a ferocious backlash, many times from those who fear progress and those who exploit that fear for their own personal gain; from those who traffic in lies told for power and profit; from those who are driven by grievance and grift, consumed by conspiracy and victimhood; from those who seek to bury history and ban books," Joe Biden said during his annual speech exploiting the anniversary of the January 6 Capitol riot. "Did you ever think you'd be at a political event talking about book banning for a presidential — in a presidential election?"

Comment: Dr. Vernon Coleman has been a thorn in the side of the mainstream medical community since th 1970s. Video blogging as 'An Old Man in a Chair', he has been heroically sounding the alarm on the dangers of the covid vaccines from the start. His website is well worth a visit

Squatters take over 1,200 homes in Atlanta, open illegal strip clubs and terrorize neighbors: 'Is this even America?'

SWAT team, Atlanta community
© WSB-TVPeople in a metro Atlanta community said their nightmare is over after a SWAT team went in and arrested four people who they claimed were nuisance squatters.
Squatters are ruining entire neighborhoods in Atlanta and police response to evict is so slow, some homeowners have resorted to paying nuisances to leave.

Brazen squatters even opened an illegal strip club on a property they had taken over — one of the 1,200 homes which has been squatted in the city, according to the National Rental Home Council (NRHC) trade group.

"I'd be terrified in Atlanta to lease out one of my properties," Matt Urbanski, who manages a local home-cleaning company, told Bloomberg.

Urbanski's company cleans out homes for corporate landlords, and in some cases has to remove squatters' possessions.

Recently one of his employees was shot after attempting to remove intruders from a property.

Simon Frost, CEO of large-scale landlord Tiber Capital Group, said there have been incidents of unlawful occupants brandishing weapons and threatening neighbors, which affects the safety of neighborhoods and other residents, according to Bloomberg.

Evicting squatters in Atlanta is tough, involving negotiating court backlogs and strained police resources.

Meanwhile, online listings and virtual real estate agents make it easy for squatters to identify vacant properties to break into.

Elon Musk's X funds Gina Carano lawsuit vs. Disney, Lucasfilm over 'Mandalorian' firing

Elon Musk's company X is funding a new lawsuit filed by actor Gina Carano over her firing from the Disney+ streaming TV series "The Mandalorian" after she shared a controversial social media post.

Carano sued Disney and its Lucasfilm subsidiary in Los Angeles federal court over her termination from the Star Wars franchise series in February 2021.

The suit, which alleges wrongful discharge and sex discrimination, seeks Carano's reinstatement in "The Mandalorian," and monetary damages for the loss of her past pay and her future employment as a result of her termination.

Carano was booted from the series after she shared a post on Instagram and TikTok that implied conservatives in the U.S. were being treated like Jewish people in Nazi Germany.

The actor previously had sparked online backlash for her posts on X, formerly Twitter, for criticizing Covid-19 lockdowns and mask mandates, for updating her Twitter bio with the words "beep/bop/boop" and for criticizing Black Lives Matter protestors.

Musk in August had said that X would fund the legal bills of X users "if you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform."

Comment: Good on Elon for keeping his word and hopefully Carano gets some due payback back pay. See also:
