Students at California school struggling after $250K in federal funds spent on 'Woke Kindergarten' program

A teacher at Glassbrook Elementary said trainers with 'Woke Kindergarten' told him a focus in the classroom should be to 'disrupt racism'

Students at a San Francisco Bay-area elementary school — where officials hired a for-profit company called "Woke Kindergarten" to train teachers — are continuing to struggle with some of the lowest math and reading scores in the state, according to a report.

The school spent $250,000 in federal funds provided by a program meant to help boost test scores for some of the country's lowest-performing schools, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, but after two years with "Woke Kindergarten," students' scores are reportedly worse.

In a 4% drop in both areas in the last two years, less than 12% of the students at Glassbrook Elementary in Hayward, California, can read at their grade level and under 4% are proficient in math, according to the Chronicle.

Comment: BizPacReview adds:
Two years ago, Glassbrook Elementary School paid $250,000 in federal grant money to Woke Kindergarten, a company that indoctrinates children in radically far-left, racial essentialist propaganda.

The company's website states that it's designed to support "children, families, educators and organizations in their commitment to abolitionist early education and pro-black and queer and trans liberation."

Why did the school pay for this radical program? "[T]o train teachers to confront white supremacy, disrupt racism and oppression and remove those barriers to learning," according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Evidently, school officials bought into the lie that racism is somehow preventing children from learning correctly. But they were dead wrong.

"[T]wo years into the three-year contract with Woke Kindergarten ... student achievement at Glassbrook has fallen, prompting some teachers to question whether the money was well-spent given the needs of the students, who are predominantly low-income," the Chronicle notes.

[...]

According to one anonymous Glassbrook teacher, it appears Woke Kindergarten's "anti-racist" trainers are also anti-free speech.

"It slowly became very apparent if you were a dissenting voice that it's not what they wanted to hear," the teacher told the Chronicle.

Even more radical than the Woke Kindergarten program itself is its founder. Akiea "Ki" Gross is her name, and she's a non-binary, pro-gay, and pro-transgender activist who hates the police. She hates the police so much that in 2020 she published a children's video on YouTube in which she said, "I feel safe when there are no police."

"Gross has also called for police to be defunded and abolished, condemned capitalism, said the government should 'free them all' [inmates] from prisons and accused the former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang of supporting genocide," Fox News notes.

She's a full-fledged, pro-criminal leftist, but one with undue influence thanks to school officials like the ones in San Francisco.

Though in fairness, local parents also had a role in Woke Kindergarten receiving a whopping $250,000 contract from the school.
And from The Blaze:
Woke Kindergarten is a self-described "global, abolitionist early childhood ecosystem and visionary creative portal supporting children, families, educators, and organizations in their commitment to abolitionist early education and pro-black and queer and trans liberation."

The woke program attempts to provide so-called "anti-racism" lessons to elementary school teachers.

[...]

Zeus Leonardo, a UC Berkeley education professor, claimed that the Woke Kindergarten agenda is not about indoctrinating children, "but making politics part of the framework of teaching."

However, teachers at Glassbrook say that the curriculum is "wrongly rooted in progressive politics and activism with anti-police, anti-capitalism, and anti-Israel messages mixed in with the goal of making schools safe, joyful and supportive for all children."

[...]

The organization's website features a "woke wonderings" section that proposes radical ideas such as challenging the legitimacy of the Supreme Court, abolishing the police, eradicating borders, defunding all militaries, abolishing money, eliminating landlords, and diverting U.S. aid from Israel to rebuilding Palestine.

The Woke Kindergarten website has a "Woke Words of the Day" section that teaches young children about ceasefires, work strikes, anti-racism, and protesting.

The website features a guide called "So you made it to a protest! A sensory guide for kids." The guide for children has images of protests for "Free Palestine," Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ rights, and prison abolition. The guide offers kids with advice on how to protest, such as "speaking your truth," wearing sunglasses and head coverings, and chanting. The guide has an image that reads: "Police do not keep us safe."
Rather telling that these articles all negatively focus on the one salvageable point from this dumpster fire of a curriculum, which is that aid to Israel should stop immediately, and Palestine should be rebuilt. But is that really an appropriate subject for third-graders? They should be working on times tables and phonics.

On the brink of disaster: Israel threatens Lebanon with war - what could go wrong?

As mediation efforts fail to bear fruit, war between Israel and Lebanon seems to be matter of when, not if...

Israel's Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz met his French counterpart on Monday, warning him that "time [is] running out to find a diplomatic solution in Lebanon," and indicating that his country was prepared to go to war if diplomacy fails.

The reason is that, since October 7, Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based group linked to Iran, has carried out hundreds of attacks on Israeli targets. Fearing an influx of militants that could potentially invade and conquer parts of the country, some 60,000 northern Israelis have opted to leave, seeking refuge in the center, away from the hostilities.

Atalia Regev, from the community of Abirim about five kilometers from Israel's border with Lebanon, left her home on October 7, when thousands of Hamas militants invaded southern Israel, massacring an estimated 1,200 people and injuring over 5,000.

Atalia recalls:
"Back then, we were sure that a northern front would [soon] open, and we, too, would face the occupation of the Galilee, a scenario that had been talked about for a long, long time. There was so much fear. So, we packed our bags, took our kids and left."
She was not the only one.

Comment: Is there optimism any of the above plans will come to pass? Neyn!

Ukrainian leadership is delusional - historian

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine would have never happened without the interference of the West and its "insane" idea of an ever-expanding NATO, Tarik Cyril Amar, an associate professor at Koc University in Istanbul, believes.

Speaking to RT's Oksana Boyko on Worlds Apart, the history professor shared his thoughts on the insistence of both Kiev and its Western backers on inflicting a decisive battlefield defeat on Russia - which seemingly remains unchanged despite all the setbacks the Ukrainian military has suffered. For Kiev, such a belief might actually be genuine, he suggested.

"Regarding the Ukrainian leadership, I would not be able to tell. I have a guess that President Zelensky himself is, basically, delusional and has become drunk on his own rhetoric as well as the flattery that he used to receive from the West. I think it has really deranged him a bit and disturbed his relationship to reality," the RT.com contributor suggested.

Israeli minister apologizes for son's dementia comment about Biden

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who called for the resettlement of Gaza, has apologized after his son implied in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that US President Joe Biden was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Shuvael Ben Gvir had posted a photo of Biden alongside the text, "In these difficult times it is important to raise awareness of Alzheimer's, a degenerative brain disease that is the most common cause of cognitive decline and dementia," adding that this was "a serious disease that affects a person's functions and ability."

The elder Ben Gvir condemned his son's post on Tuesday as a "serious mistake with a tweet I deeply disapprove of."

"The United States of America is our great friend and President Biden is a friend of Israel," the national security adviser wrote. "Even if I have a disagreement with his conduct, there is no room, God forbid, for a disparaging style."

'Trust the science'? 10,000 fake scientific papers in 2023 throw research credibility into crisis - The Guardian

China peer review fraud
© BRYAN SATALINOLast year, 10,000 sham papers had to be retracted by academic journals, but experts think this is just the tip of the iceberg
Tens of thousands of bogus research papers are being published in journals in an international scandal that is worsening every year, scientists have warned. Medical research is being compromised, drug development hindered and promising academic research jeopardised thanks to a global wave of sham science that is sweeping laboratories and universities.

Last year the annual number of papers retracted by research journals topped 10,000 for the first time. Most analysts believe the figure is only the tip of an iceberg of scientific fraud.

"The situation has become appalling," said Professor Dorothy Bishop of Oxford University. "The level of publishing of fraudulent papers is creating serious problems for science. In many fields it is becoming difficult to build up a cumulative approach to a subject, because we lack a solid foundation of trustworthy findings. And it's getting worse and worse."

Comment: Whilst there are likely a number of contributing factors, it seems that one of the primary reasons for the state of thing is the corruption of science by the establishment in order to further its nefarious agenda.

The following article published yesterday in Nature is a startling and perfect example of how nutritional science has been corrupted by the very bodies tasked with providing dietary guidelines for the public. Unsurprisingly, their fraudulent and flawed research just so happens to support the vegetarian agenda the establishment is brazenly pushing:
Unacceptable use of substandard metrics in policy decisions which mandate large reductions in animal-source foods

Abstract

Many recent very influential reports, including those from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Risk Factor Collaborators, the EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet, Health, and the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, have recommended dramatic reductions or total exclusion of animal-source foods, particularly ruminant products (red meat and dairy), from the human diet. They strongly suggest that these dietary shifts will not only benefit planetary health but also human health. However, as detailed in this perspective, there are grounds for considerable concern in regard to the quality and transparency of the input data, the validity of the assumptions, and the appropriateness of the statistical modelling, used in the calculation of the global health estimates, which underpin the claimed human health benefits. The lessor bioavailability of protein and key micronutrients from plant-source foods versus animal-source foods was not adequately recognised nor addressed in any of these reports. Furthermore, assessments of bias and certainty were either limited or absent. Despite many of these errors and limitations being publically acknowledged by the GBD and the EAT-Lancet authors, no corrections have been applied to the published papers. As a consequence, these reports continue to erroneously influence food policy decisions and international dietary guidelines, such as the World Wildlife Fund's Livewell Diet, and the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations 2023.

Judge dismisses Alvin Bragg's felony case against vax card forgers: 'DA has let criminals off for much less'

alvin bragg brendan lantry vax card forgeries
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Supreme Court Justice Brendan T. Lantry
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg attempted to charge two New York residents with felonies for having false vaccine passports while he has let off others charged with far worse crimes scot-free.

New York State Supreme Court Justice Brendan T. Lantry dismissed the felony charges against the residents, identified as J.O. and R.V. in the decision, who had bought the forged vax passports, usurping Bragg's decision.

The judge said the two were among 16 others that Bragg had "cherry-picked" to prosecute, according to the case.

Lantry slammed Bragg in the decision decided at the New York Supreme Court on Jan. 30.

Make no mistake, a new Civil War is a very real prospect for the US

Texas National Guard

Let's sketch a big country in three broad strokes:

First, its population is over 333 million. These citizens privately own about (or at least) 339 million guns. They are unique in that no other state in the world has more private guns than people. They easily outdistance, for instance, Yemen, a country with a martial culture that has gone through years of civil war and yet there are only about 53 firearms per 100 inhabitants.

Second, polarization is unusually high and virulent: As of 2020 already, a political scientist at one of America's most prestigious universities, found that "political polarization among Americans has grown rapidly in the last 40 years — more than in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia or Germany," for instance. The result: America is special, but not in a good way. "None of the wealthy, consolidated democracies of East Asia, Oceania, or Western Europe," a 2022 paper published by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace pointed out, "have faced similar levels of polarization for such an extended period."

Elite university reverses course, reinstates standardized tests as part of admissions applications

Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College announced Monday that it is reversing course on its testing policy by reinstating its use of standardized testing in its admissions process.

The school had previously suspended its testing requirements in June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a press release. However, the college said Monday that research on the matter showed testing is correlated with academic success and that some "low-income" students who would be admitted with their test scores withheld their test scores due to the policy.

"Nearly four years later, having studied the role of testing in our admissions process as well as its value as a predictor of student success at Dartmouth, we are removing the extended pause and reactivating the standardized testing requirement for undergraduate admission, effective with the Class of 2029," a press release announcing the move reads.

Yandex NV, the Dutch-registered parent company of the Yandex group, has reached an agreement to sell its Russian business, including the country's most popular search engine, to a consortium of private investors, according to a statement released by the company on Monday.

The tech giant, which is often referred to as "Russia's Google," will sell its Russian operations in a deal worth 475 billion rubles ($5.2 billion), which will be payable in a combination of cash and shares of the parent company, and spin off its main international projects, the company said.

According to the statement, the sale price "reflects a mandatory discount of at least 50% to fair value" under the Russian law that covers divestment procedures for foreign companies departing the country.

"Under the terms of the proposed transaction, Yandex NV will sell its entire interest in IJSC Yandex, an international joint stock company incorporated in Russia that will hold all of Yandex's assets and operations in Russia and certain international markets," the statement said.

The group of investors, which is led by the management of the company will get stakes in Yandex International PJSC, which was registered in Russia's Kaliningrad special economic zone late last year.

"The proposed transaction will allow shareholders to recover some value for the businesses that we are divesting, while unlocking new growth potential for the international businesses we will retain and enabling the divested businesses to operate under new ownership," Chairman John Boynton said in a statement.

Yandex's Russian business will be owned by a consortium including members of the company's senior management and Russia's largest private oil company Lukoil, while the Dutch company will rebrand and retain control of several internationally-focused businesses run by former Yandex executives.

Comment: This works out well for Western consumers looking to use services that are outside of Western control.

Kazakhstan will surgically remove paedophiles' genitals under new draft law after complaints that chemical castration was not harsh enough

Chemical castration, Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan will surgically remove the genitals of the worst offending paedophiles under a new draft law.

It follows complaints from MPs that the current system of chemical castration - one of the toughest in the world - is not deterring child sex offenders.

Elnur Beisenbaev, an MP and executive secretary of the ruling Amanat Party, said the government was 'spineless' and pandering to paedophiles for failing to insist on 'surgical castration'.

'Unfortunately, [sex crimes against children] are happening more and more often,' he said, suggesting chemical castration - which lowers the male libido through injected anti-androgen drugs - was not effective.

'By letting a rapist go free, we create conditions for recidivism with our own hands,' he added.

Comment: A harsh punishment for a horrendous crime. Certainly there would be no point in surgical or chemical castration if the individuals were imprisoned for life with no possibility of release and no access to children, ever. But trying to find the right balance of punishment and preventative measures for such individuals is better than trying to normalize them and their predilections.
