The names of New Jersey priests and deacons credibly accused of sexually abusing minors will be made public early next year, the archbishop of Newark said Monday.

Archbishop Cardinal Joseph Tobin said the naming of the predator priests and deacons is in coordination with the New Jersey attorney general's ongoing task force into clergy sex abuse.

The church will also establish a fund to compensate victims of clergy abuse in the Garden State, including cases where the statute of limitations has expired, Tobin said.

Last year, 12,812 hectares of B.C. forest was sprayed with the herbicide glyphosate. It's an annual event - a mass extermination of broadleaf trees mandated by the province.

The eradication of trees like aspen and birch on regenerating forest stands is meant to make room for more commercially valuable conifer species like pine and Douglas fir.

But experts say it also removes one of the best natural defences we have against wildfire, at a time when our warming climate is helping make large, destructive fires more and more common.

Syrian Army achieves 'total victory' against ISIS in Southern Syria

The Syrian Armed Forces have reported a total victory over Daesh terrorists in as-Suwayda province. This was one of the three remaining Daesh strongholds in Syria.

The Syrian Armed Forces on Monday announced the liberation of the entirety of Southern Syria from Daesh holdouts. According to a Syrian Army General Command statement published by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), all terrorists entrenched in the al-Safa volcanic plateau deep within As-Suwayda (Sweida) province have been eliminated.

"Following a string of accurate and focused military operations, our valiant armed forces have established complete control over Tuloul al-Safa area, which is of a complex volcanic nature, eliminating [Daesh] terrorists positioned there, and confiscated large amounts of light and medium weapons," the Command said.

Three topless activists from radical feminist group Femen hit the streets of Madrid on Sunday, disrupting a far-right demonstration that was marking the death of Spain's former fascist dictator, Francisco Franco.

With "legal fascism" and "national shame" written on their bodies, the women interrupted the group of 200 commemorators by running through the crowd. Angry supporters made attempts to stop the women, while others shouted insults along with "Franco! Franco! Franco!"

Footage of the stunt shows one of the Femen activists storming a podium. However, she was quickly grabbed by nearby police officers and dragged away from the baying Franco supporters.

Multiple people shot in downtown Denver, 1 reported dead

Five people have been shot in a busy downtown area of Denver, Colorado. One of the victims died at the scene. Police were still looking for the armed attacker late Monday night.

The shooting took place in Lower Downtown just after 4 pm local time on Monday, Denver police said. Three victims have been transported to Denver Health in critical condition immediately in the wake of the shooting. Police said their injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

There is no information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect or suspects.

A Florida school district allowed a self-described transgender female student regular access to the boys' locker room, with no advance warning to the boys or their parents. The first time she walked in, she caught "boys (literally) with their pants down, causing them embarrassment and concern by the fact that they had been observed changing by an obvious girl," says a complaint letter to Pasco County School District from Liberty Counsel, a pro-bono constitutional law firm.

With a "gag order," school administrators forbade teachers from talking about the change, and ordered a male P.E. teacher to supervise the potentially undressed girl in the Chasco Middle School locker room, the letter says. When he refused to "knowingly place himself in a position to observe a minor female in the nude or otherwise in a state of undress," administrators told him "he will be transferred to another school as discipline for 'not doing your job in the locker room.'"

Mercy Hospital shooting: 4 dead, including police officer and gunman

Four people, including the attacker, were shot and later died at the Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, police have confirmed. A police officer responding to the active shooter alert is among the victims.

According to dispatch reports cited by local media, a woman and an officer were shot on Monday afternoon, as well as a man reported to be the attacker.

Police conducted a search of the hospital, which was partially evacuated.

Bitcoin has dropped below $5,000 for the first time in over a year as cryptocurrencies' wholesale freefall continued, as investors fearing new regulations sell up their virtual holdings.

Bitcoin fell to as low as $4,960 on Monday, the eighth consecutive day of losses for cryptocurrency token, and the second low-water mark in days. Last Wednesday, the ten-year-old token dropped 11 percent in a single day of trading, dipping below $6,000 to its lowest price in a year.

After an unprecedented speculation bubble saw bitcoin touch $20,000 in December 2017, the coin's value has nosedived in volatile trading over the following months. The virtual currency has enjoyed a period of relative stability since early September, hovering between $6,000 and $7,000.

One mayor's decision to cut police oversight has allowed a department in Indiana to become a law unto itself; staffed with a gallery of rogue, undisciplined and shady officers.

Drew Neese was elected mayor of Elkhart, Indiana in 2015. Among his biggest donors were the Fraternal Order of Police, and throughout his campaign, Neese "made it clear that he wants all of the city's officers going home at night without second-guessing themselves and the decisions they make," a local CBS affiliate reported at the time.

Step one was appointing a new police chief. Neese chose Ed Windbigler, a military veteran and campaign supporter, for the role. According to an extensive report from nonprofit newsroom ProPublica, Windbigler had a questionable record.

Mexican journalist Alex Backman has released a stunning expose on the caravan from Central America. He says the migrants are robbing and stealing in Mexico. They carjack cars containing just one occupant. There are even accounts of rapes. Many of the migrants will not let people film them. If they see someone filming them through a car window, they stop the car and demand the phone. Backman suspects the reason they don't want to be filmed is because they have criminal histories.

He said the Mexican president hasn't done anything to stop it. The Mexican government is instead providing them with necessities including medical aid. This despite the fact that 48 percent of Mexicans disapprove of the caravan. Almost 2,700 Central Americans have applied for asylum in Mexico since the caravan started. However, the Mexican government says it does not have the resources to house all the caravan members for six months.
