Bellingcat report on MH17 crash 'cheap fake' says ex-Russian Army official

The latest report by the Bellingcat online research group on the downing of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine is a "cheap fake," a retired major general of the Russian Armed Forces said.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed near Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, in an area controlled by pro-independence militias, on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people on board. Earlier this week, Bellingcat released a report claiming that the missile that downed the plane was fired by a missile launcher belonging to the Russian military.

"It is possible to conclude that the Bellingcat experts are low in competence and clearly biased. This is a cheap fake," Mikhail Krusha told the RT television channel. Bellingcat in the past has published several reports on the tragedy, all of which accused Russia and which were dismissed by Moscow.

"I believe that investigation is based on undeniable facts, while here we're shown a series of some photographs, testimonies and other materials from the internet, which are presented as undeniable facts. Many of them contradict each other which is obvious even to someone who is not an expert," Krusha said.

Dutch investigators published a report in October 2015 that said that the Malaysia Airlines aircraft appeared to have been downed using a Russia-produced Buk surface-to-air missile system. It did not identify the exact location from where the missile was fired.

The Russian arms manufacturer that builds Buk missile systems, Almaz-Antey, conducted a separate probe into the crash, finding that the missile that hit the plane could only have been launched by a Buk system located in the region of Zaroshchenske, controlled by Kiev forces at the time of the incident.

Syria: Russia increases air strikes on illegal oil transport routes

Russian warplanes have increased airstrikes against illegal oil production sites and oil smuggling routes in Syria since May 20, head of the Russian General Staff Lt. Gen. Sergey Rudskoy said Friday. According to him, Moscow and Washington have agreed on the need to decrease the economic potential of the terrorist groups Daesh and Al-Nusra.

"The discussion on the issue has been held among top experts. Since May 20, we have increased airstrikes against illegal oil production sites and smuggling routes to Turkey," Sergey Rudskoy said."Unfortunately, aside from their persistent requests not to hit al-Nusra Front targets due to the fact that units of the so-called 'moderate opposition' could be nearby, our American partners have not taken any decisive steps," he added.

Despite the agreement between the United States and Russia, the issue of drawing out zones controlled by the so-called moderate opposition and terrorists in Syria remains open, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff Sergei Rudskoy said Friday."[T]he issue of drawing out zones controlled by the 'moderate opposition' from territory occupied by Nusra Front militants has not been agreed upon, which won't allow for an effective fight against this terrorist organization. The question arises as to when the American side will take measures on separating formations from the 'moderate opposition' from the territory occupied by Nusra Front militants, and they finally tell us the coordinates of these regions," Rudskoy said during a briefing.

The United States' negative response to Russia's proposal of joint operations against terrorists is leading to the escalation of military conflicts in Syria, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff Sergei Rudskoy said Friday.

Comment: Prior to Russian bombing raids, Daesh raked in approximately $2M-$3M/day on the black market, having control of approximately two-thirds of Syrian oil sources. Post raids, the take has reportedly been cut in half. Other sources claim Daesh now collects less than $2M/month in oil revenue from Syria. From a US economic point of view, the oil trade more/less pays for its proxy army. Cut the supply and the US has to increase its financial obligation to keep Daesh functional. From a Russian point of view, if you deny the revenue and sustainability, thereby containing the enemy, eventually it collapses.

The eternal power struggle of water, time and Mother Russia

lake-baikal Russia
"We already have the statistics for the future: the growth percentages of pollution, overpopulation, desertification. The future is already in place." - Günter Grass

Russia will emerge as the world's most vital country within the next decade. The country will do so out of a matter of utter necessity, and the necessity has nothing to do with energy. The hybrid war being waged by western leadership today, it is an unmistakably a pitched battle over the world's last pools of natural resources. Chief among these is water. The famous psychic Edgar Cayce may have been correct in predicting Russia's emergence as a new "light" of the world.
"In Russia there comes the hope of the world, not as that sometimes termed of the Communistic, of the Bolshevistic; no. But freedom, freedom! That each man will live for his fellow man! The principle has been born. It will take years for it to be crystallized, but out of Russia comes again the hope of the world. Guided by what? That friendship with the nation that hath even set on its present monetary unit In God We Trust." - Cayce, 1944

Be careful what you wish for: Abbas wants NATO to replace IDF in West Bank

Palestinian leaders want NATO to substitute IDF forces in the West Bank as part of any sustainable peace deal and a two-state solution with Israel. France is mounting up international support to hold a conference after US-led negotiations collapsed.

"Now we talk about the French initiative... Its purpose must be to implement the visions of both states, based on the border agreement of 1967 and the capital of the Palestinian state being eastern Jerusalem, so that both countries can live side by side, in safety, stability and peace - if Israel wishes to seek peace," Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in a speech at a meeting of foreign ministers at the Arab League.

Best of the Web: Stunning silence in America as it prepares to vote for one side of the same coin

Obama silencing America
Returning to the United States in an election year, I am struck by the silence. I have covered four presidential campaigns, starting with 1968; I was with Robert Kennedy when he was shot and I saw his assassin, preparing to kill him. It was a baptism in the American way, along with the salivating violence of the Chicago police at the Democratic Party's rigged convention. The great counter revolution had begun.

The first to be assassinated that year, Martin Luther King, had dared link the suffering of African-Americans and the people of Vietnam. When Janis Joplin sang, "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose", she spoke perhaps unconsciously for millions of America's victims in faraway places.

"We lost 58,000 young soldiers in Vietnam, and they died defending your freedom. Now don't you forget it." So said a National Parks Service guide as I filmed last week at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. He was addressing a school party of young teenagers in bright orange T-shirts. As if by rote, he inverted the truth about Vietnam into an unchallenged lie.

The millions of Vietnamese who died and were maimed and poisoned and dispossessed by the American invasion have no historical place in young minds, not to mention the estimated 60,000 veterans who took their own lives. A friend of mine, a marine who became a paraplegic in Vietnam, was often asked, "Which side did you fight on?"

Lunatic Savchenko says she's ready to become President of Ukraine

Nadezhda Savchenko
Nadezhda Savchenko, Ukie 'heroine'
Nadezhda Savchenko, the Ukrainian pilot-turned-MP found guilty in Russia over killing of two journalists in Donbass and released from jail earlier this week has announced that she is ready to become the President of Ukraine, reported by TASS.
'If you need that I become the President of Ukraine, so, I will be the President,' pointed out Savchenko at the press conference.
Savchenko has played down her chances of being elected the president saying that she does not believe that people have learned to vote not for buckwheat.

Comment: For more on just how criminally insane this Savchenko is, check out:
Back in Kiev and greeted like a hero, Ukraine's version of Joan of Arc put on a performance for the spellbound media befitting a rabid Russian-hating ultra-nationalist.

Standing before the assembled media, Savchenko ranted like a lunatic, virtually frothing at the mouth, jumping out of her skin to return to the front lines and embark on a killing spree.

One would think that Savchenko would show some dignity, exercise restraint, and make conciliatory gestures to peace, knowing full well she is idolized and thus a voice of influence (but not reason) in Ukraine.

The war in the Donbass is entering its third year, fighting is escalating, people in Donbass are experiencing a humanitarian crisis, Ukraine is in disarray, Europe fumbles around for a solution and the conflict is a major driver of Russia/US tensions which have led to US-imposed anti-Russia sanctions, unjust, unwarranted and hurting all of Europe. So what does Savchenko do? Throw some fuel on the fire.

If Savchenko's behaviour in the Russian court was disturbing in its overt manifestation, at her press conference with Petro Poroshenko she really came into her own. Standing next to the chocolate king himself, Savchenko looked totally unhinged, and in good company. The Saker has already commented, saying "she looks like a rabid pit-bull on a mix [of] LSD and crack cocaine."

How Russia is preparing for a potential WW3 with mad dog USA

I have recently posted a piece in which I tried to debunk a few popular myths about modern warfare. Judging by many comments which I received in response to this post, I have to say that the myths in question are still alive and well and that I clearly failed to convince many readers. What I propose to do today, is to look at what Russia is really doing in response to the growing threat from the West. But first, I have to set the context or, more accurately, re-set the context in which Russia is operating. Let's begin by looking at the AngloZionist policies towards Russia.

The West's actions:

First on this list is, obviously, the conquest by NATO of all of Eastern Europe. I speak of conquest because that is exactly what it is, but a conquest achieved according to the rules of 21st century warfare which I define as "80% informational, 15% economic and 5% military". Yes, I know, the good folks of Eastern Europe were just dreaming of being subjugated by the US/NATO/EU/etc - but so what? Anyone who has read Sun Tzu will immediately recognize that this deep desire to be 'incorporated' into the AngloZionist "Borg" is nothing else but the result of a crushed self-identity, a deep-seated inferiority complex and, thus, a surrender which did not even have to be induced by military means. At the end of the day, it makes no difference what the locals thought they were achieving - they are now subjects of the Empire and their countries more or less irrelevant colonies in the fringe of the AngloZionist Empire. As always, the local comprador elite is now bubbling with pride at being, or so they think, accepted as equals by their new masters (think Poroshenko, Tusk or Grybauskaite) which gives them the courage to bark at Moscow from behind the NATO fence. Good for them.

American exceptionalism defined

Shining city
On the surface, American exceptionalism appears to represent a boldly-stated concept but when contrasted to the subtleties of personal experience, the lessons and flow of history and individual geographically-rooted place, horribly small-minded and delusional, conceivable only as a statement by a crazed, power-hungry overlord to an underling.

Synchronized beautifully in 2004 by a senior aide to Bush Jr. to Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ron Suskind writing in the New York Times Magazine, American Exceptionalism is,
"...an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do..." (http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/17/magazine/17BUSH.html).
To begin examination, let's take a closer look at basic definitions (courtesy of Merriam-Webster).

Exceptional:
  1. not usual
  2. unusual or uncommon
  3. unusually good

Will Americans wake up before they are dead?

Nuclear War
© The UNZ Review
The Saker reports that Russia is preparing for World War III, not because Russia intends to initiate aggression but because Russia is alarmed by the hubris and arrogance of the West, by the demonization of Russia, by provocative military actions by the West, by American interference in the Russian province of Chechnya and in former Russian provinces of Ukraine and Georgia, and by the absence of any restraint from Western Europe on Washington's ability to foment war.

Like Steven Starr, Stephen Cohen, myself, and a small number of others, the Saker understands the reckless irresponsibility of convincing Russia that the United States intends to attack her.

It is extraordinary to see the confidence that many Americans place in their military's ability. After 15 years the US has been unable to defeat a few lightly armed Taliban, and after 13 years the situation in Iraq remains out of control. This is not very reassuring for the prospect of taking on Russia, much less the strategic alliance between Russia and China. The US could not even defeat China, a Third World country at the time, in Korea 60 years ago.

Americans need to pay attention to the fact that "their" government is a collection of crazed stupid fools likely to bring vaporization to the United States and all of Europe.

Russian weapons systems are far superior to American ones. American weapons are produced by private companies for the purpose of making vast profits. The capability of the weapons is not the main concern. There are endless cost overruns that raise the price of US weapons into outer space. The F-35 fighter, which is less capable than the F-15 it is supposed to replace, costs between $148 million and $337 million per fighter, depending on whether it is an Air Force, Marine Corps, or Navy model.
