Pope Francis: G20 forms 'dangerous alliances,' harms migrants around the world

The G20 harms migrants around the world, Pope Francis said in an interview with Italian media, adding that there are
"dangerous alliances between powers which have a distorted view of the world."

"The G20 worries me, it hits migrants in countries in half of the world and it hits them even more as time goes by," Pope Francis told Eugenio Scalfari, founder of Italian daily La Repubblica, as cited by Reuters.
The pontiff added he was concerned about
"very dangerous alliances between powers which have a distorted vision of the world: America and Russia, China and North Korea, [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and [Syrian leader Bashar] Assad over the war in Syria."

"The danger concerns immigration. Our main and unfortunately growing problem in the world today is that of the poor, the weak, the excluded, which includes migrants," he said, adding that wealthier countries "fear an invasion of migrants."

"This is why the G20 worries me: It mainly hits immigrants," the pontiff stated. Francis, the first non-European pope in 1,300 years, also said that as the "richest continent in the whole world," Europe will always attract migrants, and urged it not to see them as criminals.

Comment: The Pope can't see the forest for the trees. Do people really want to migrate from their homes if the wars stop destroying their homes?

ISIS terrorists have claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on Egyptian forces on the Sinai Peninsula in which at least 23 soldiers lost their lives. Despite the heavy casualties, the military claims it foiled the major assault, killing dozens of terrorists.

At least 33 others were wounded in the major militant assault on an Egyptian army checkpoint near Rafah Friday, according to the latest figures reported by AP.

The attack in North Sinai started with at least one suicide bomber ramming a vehicle into the army's outpost which had roughly 60 soldiers.

US first lady Melania Trump cannot leave her G20 summit Hamburg residence to join other leaders' spouses because of the presence of protesters, the media reported, citing Trump's spokeswoman.

We have so far no security clearance from the police to leave the guesthouse, the DPA news agency reported.

The city of Hamburg, currently hosting the summit, is engulfed in numerous anti-G20 protests which have already resulted in 130 injured police officers. The situation seems to be dire as media reports suggest that the Hamburg police requested additional support from all German federal states to contain the rallies.

CNN lies send ratings to record lows; Yogi Bear, Olsen Twin reruns now have more viewers

There's a reason why TFTP does not cite CNN in most of our articles. Plainly stated, the Cable News Network is unreliable. And while the free-thinking great awakening continues to take place, Americans and many around the world have also taken notice. As a result, CNN's ratings are tanking.

Some of us are old enough to remember when "cable" became a household word and was sought after above the often unreliable over-the-air broadcasts of the usual big three networks and local channels. In the 1980's, Ted Turner's Cable News Network (CNN) was revolutionary. Prior to its inception, the only day-long news broadcasts available were on AM/FM radios, followed by one hour of broadcast news starting at 6 pm on television.

Despite repeated denials by fake news of the staging of use of chemical weapons by government forces in Syria, this option remains very attractive for both terrorists and the West.

As warned by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, these videos are only due to increase. Apparently, the fake video published in early July will not be the last.

First, we have the manner in which the Americans have been preparing the G20 summit. As we all know, in diplomacy actions count as much, or even more, than words. Here are just a few of the actions recently taken by the Americans in preparation for the G20 summit and Trump's first meeting with Putin (in no particular order): Going down this list, you got to admire the American sense of timing and diplomacy...

Supporters of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn have rejected reports that a hard-left wing of the party is orchestrating a "purge" of moderate MPs, as claimed by the Rupert Murdoch-owned Times newspaper.

Backers of Labour leader Corbyn say that the Times story has been exaggerated and distorted.

The newspaper's front page on Friday claimed Momentum activists in South Tyneside, near Newcastle, had put together a list of 49 sitting MPs that could "join the Liberals."

The "hitlist" was found on a Facebook page with over 130 members. Targeted MPs included rebel Chuka Umunna, longtime anti-Corbyn campaigner Jess Philips, and Liverpool Wavertree MP Luciana Berger.
"A [Facebook] page with 136 likes posting a list of MPs saying 'join the liberals' does not constitute a 'plot' nor a 'deselection hitlist,'" Corbyn backer and political commentator Aaron Bastani wrote on Twitter.

'Delusional': Israel infuriated after UNESCO describes Hebron as Palestinian heritage site

Israel's ambassador to UNESCO walked out of a session by the UN agency after learning that the Old City of Hebron had been referred to as Palestinian, not Israeli. Israeli officials slammed the move saying it overlooks the deep Jewish ties to the biblical town.

The Friday session, which took place in Krakow, Poland led to Hebron's Old City being put on the agency's World Heritage list as a site in danger, UNESCO spokeswoman Lucia Iglesias confirmed, according to AP.

The decision came after a secret vote of 12-3, with six abstentions.

Although the move itself wasn't deemed controversial by Tel Aviv, the decision to describe Hebron as a "Palestinian heritage site" infuriated Israel's ambassador to UNESCO, Carmel Shama-Hacohen, who walked out of the session in protest.

Iran arrests four Saudis on a vessel inside its territorial waters

Iran's Revolutionary Guards boat
On June 19, just around the time it emerged that Israel had been secretly funding Syrian rebel groups and was explicitly aligned with Saudi Arabia in the Syrian conflict, Saudi media reported that the kingdom had captured three members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps from a boat as it approached the kingdom's offshore Marjan oilfield. The Saudi Center for International Communications added that the boat carried explosives, and the Iranians aboard "intended to carry out terrorist act in Saudi territorial waters" with the Marjan Saudi offshore oilfield allegedly targeted. In other words, Saudi paraded that it had caught what appeared to be three Iranian terrorists belonging to IRGC, suggesting this was an operation ordered from the very top.

Of course, Iran's take on things was different: Iran's Tasnim news agency said that Saudi border guards had opened fire on an Iranian fishing boat in the Gulf on Friday, killing a fisherman. It said the boat was one of two Iranian boats fishing in the Gulf that had been pushed off course by waves. So on one side terrorists, on the other fishermen: about par.

Three weeks later, there has been no resolution to this alleged hostage crisis, however in a new development, on Friday Iran's Fars news agency reported that Iran has returned the favor.
