Scaramucci to present Trump with a diagram of suspected media outlets receiving leaks from Reince Priebus

Media leaks
© PoliticoLooking to plug the leaks!
Anthony Scaramucci, the new White House communications director, and people close to him are creating a diagram of the media landscape in an effort to snuff out leakers, according to a report Thursday evening.

The Scaramucci game plan is to map out news outlets that they suspect are receiving leaks from White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, an unnamed White House official told The Washington Post. The group will then present its findings to President Trump on Friday, the report said.

The last 24 hours has been replete with Scaramucci grabbing headlines and bringing his hardline stance on stopping leakers to a boiling point. On Wednesday evening he tweeted about a "felony" leak of the financial disclosure form he filed when he joined the Export-Import Bank, referring to a report from Politico.

However, the Politico reporter who wrote the article, Lorraine Woellert, claims she obtained the public-record document by requesting it from the government.

Scaramucci then went on a vulgar rant about Priebus and chief strategist Steve Bannon in a New Yorker interview published Thursday. He also threatened to have Priebus fired. Scaramucci later tweeted that he would try to tamp down his colorful language, but will not give up his "passionate fight" for Trump's agenda. Scaramucci then tweeted that he "made a mistake in trusting in a reporter" and pledged not to do it again.

The New Yorker reporter he spoke to, Ryan Lizza, claims he got confirmation from Scaramucci that the interview was on the record. However, Fox News host Sean Hannity, who interviewed and reportedly dined with Scaramucci on Wednesday, says he was told that Scaramucci thought it was an off-the-record conversation.

Comment: Diagram reminder: A little less zealous spontaneity over suspicions and a bit more forethought based in knowledge.

HRW Iraq researcher: Mosul extrajudicial killings 'without any judge, without any trial'

Daesh suspects held

The senior Iraqi researcher for Human Rights Watch, Belkis Wille, has told RT of first-hand accounts that yet again show rampant human rights abuses by Iraqi forces in Mosul, and explained why it is unlikely that those responsible will be held to account.

The latest HRW report is one of a series of documents that the group issued regarding the final weeks of the battle to liberate Mosul from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists, which has now been declared a victory. "In these reports, what we have seen is numerous extrajudicial killings by Iraqi forces of men that they say were linked to ISIS: without any judge, without any trial, simply executing them on the battlefield, "Wille said.

The data is based on "first-hand witnesses to executions and to abuses," and these individuals also provided Wille with "photo and video evidence." "Really, all the Iraqi forces that are involved in this battle against ISIS have been committing rampant abuses, including war crimes."

However, HRW has "yet to see any incident to be properly investigated by the Iraqis, or any commanders to be held accountable," the researcher added.

Washington is also implicated, with the US having had "for a long time publicized the work that it's done training the Iraqi military's 16th division," a unit that has allegedly been involved in many of the reported abuses.

Comment: It is a disturbing comment on humanity that for all the terrorism and horrific suffering of the people, and the many sadistic acts perpetrated by Daesh and other terrorist groups, the government forces would resort to unconscionable terroristic and murderous actions in imitation of those they conquered and despised. It says, at the end of the day, there are very few differences in men regardless of affiliation or mandate.

Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif resigns, a blow to Russia and China relations and CPEC

Sharif
© HDWallpapersFormer Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif
Nawaz Sharif was not a perfect leader, but his recent foreign policy moves have been incredibly beneficial to Pakistan's growing multi-polar, geo-political and commercial strengths. While some who decried Pakistan's growing relations with China and Pakistan's new friendship with Russia will be celebrating today, this celebration may prove to be short lived.

Pakistan's long serving Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has resigned after the Supreme Court in Islamabad ruled to disqualify him from public office over alleged corruption relating to a Panamanian tax shelter.

Sharif has long been a household name in Pakistan holding the powerful office of Prime Minister between 1990-1993, then again between 1997-1999 and most recent between 2013 up to his present resignation in the summer of 2017. Sharif lived in exile in Saudi Arabia between 2000 and 2007 after being ousted by strongman President Pervez Musharraf, before returning to Pakistan where he re-assumed his role as leader of the opposition party PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz).

His close relationship with Saudi Arabia had always been a matter of both intrigue and consternation to many, but his final (at this time) term as Prime Minister witnessed some peculiar developments that showed a shift in Sharif's previously predictably Saudi friendly policies.

The most important development of Sharif's last term in power and undoubtedly the most important achievement for Pakistan as a whole in that time was the creation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Comment: The Panama Papers revealed Mr. Sharif's children owned offshore companies and assets not revealed on the family wealth statement. Mr Sharif has consistently denied any wrongdoing in the case. Sharif was the 18th PM of Pakistan and none of the prior 17 had completed their full term in office. Can we say there is a pattern of either corruption or a long history of political manipulation?

Sanctions shall not affect Russia, will affect US allies

Europe is no longer happy with its American friend.

The Duran's Managing Editor recently spoke with Press-TV about the economic and geo-political outcome of the new round of sanctions which sailed through the US Congress.

While the EU was previously supportive of US sanctions, the nature of the new sanctions have led to a schism between the EU and its partner the US.

Comment: What do we expect the results to be from a plan offered by one-reaction, one-response thinkers...backfire.

China confirms the China Pakistan Economic Corridor will continue after Nawaz Sharif

Nawaz/Xi

China's statement is an endorsement of Pakistan's internal political stability.

China has confirmed that the forced resignation of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will not negatively impact cooperation on building the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Many in the Pakistani and global media were concerned that after the Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled that Sharif could no longer hold political office due to his Panamanian tax shelter, the project could be under threat.

The most important development of Sharif's last term in power and undoubtedly the most important achievement for Pakistan as a whole in that time was the creation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The CPEC is a project integral to China's One Belt-One Road project which seeks to modernise Pakistan's trade and logistics infrastructure in order to make the movement of goods across the China/Pakistan border more efficient as well as expanding the capacity of goods which will flow across the border. Furthermore, Pakistan continues to develop ever closer military ties with China.

However, in spite of the political change, China has assured Pakistan and the wider world that the CPEC will continue as planned.

Chinese Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Lu Kang has stated the following on the matter,
"As a friendly neighbour, China hopes that all parties and sections in Pakistan can prioritise state and national interests, properly deal with their domestic affairs, maintain unity, stability, and keep focusing on the economic and social development.

We believe that the China-Pakistan strategic cooperative partnership will not be affected by the change of the situation inside Pakistan. China stands ready to work with Pakistan to continue jointly building the One Belt and One Road".
This statement clearly underscores China's confidence in the political stability of Pakistan and the non-partisan reality that Pakistan's future depends on friendly cooperation with China, its long-time partner dating back to the Cold War era when both China and Pakistan's economy were a fraction of their current respective strengths.

Comment: China sees the forest, not just the tree. Change can start with one person as long as there is supportive and positive momentum.

President Xi rejects western political and economic models in speech, affirms Chinese sovereign approach

Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping's speech is indicative of China's commitment to her sovereign minded political system and unique "market socialist" economic system that have guided China to becoming a world class economic powerhouse.

Chinese President Xi has addressed a large meeting of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in preparation for the forthcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

During a wide ranging speech, President Xi stated that China must reaffirm and bolster both its Chinese characteristics as well as the socialist traditions of the CPC. According to Chinese media, Xi stressed "that socialism with Chinese characteristics had been the theme of all the Party's theories and practices since the reform and opening up in 1978".

1978 was the beginning of landmark internal reforms in China by Deng Xiaoping who was China's Paramount Leader between 1978 and 1989. During this time, China embarked on a program Deng called "market socialism".

Comment: A leader that learns from others' failures. What a concept.

New Russian UN envoy: EU finally falling victim to policy of subservience to U.S. - "we told you so"

Vasily Nebenzya

The EU has fallen victim of its unconditional support for the US sanction policy against Russia, Russia's UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya told RT. Calling the state of US-Russian relations "worse" than that of the Cold War-era, Nebenzya said the two still have to cooperate.

The wave of anti-Russian sanctions coming from Washington is "unprecedented, baseless and illegal," said Nebenzya, who is Russia's new Permanent Representative to the UN.

He added that the EU should blame itself for becoming a victim of the side-effects of the US policy toward Russia as it previously followed in Washington's footsteps as regards to sanction policy.

"Ironically, the EU together with US implemented illegal sanctions against Russia and now it could be a victim of those restrictions as the result of these sanctions. This situation can be described as: We told you so," the diplomat said.

Flashback CIA Director John Brennan colluded with foreign spies to subvert American democracy

john brennan biden
An article in the Guardian last week provides more confirmation that John Brennan was the American progenitor of political espionage aimed at defeating Donald Trump. One side did collude with foreign powers to tip the election - Hillary's.

Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump's candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people.

John Brennan's CIA operated like a branch office of the Hillary campaign, leaking out mentions of this bogus investigation to the press in the hopes of inflicting maximum political damage on Trump. An official in the intelligence community tells TAS that Brennan's retinue of political radicals didn't even bother to hide their activism, decorating offices with "Hillary for president cups" and other campaign paraphernalia.

Israeli Ambassador: Russia could play a role in easing tensions at Temple Mount

Israeli Ambassador to Russia Gary Koren says that the situation around the Temple Mount in Jerusalem will unlikely be settled in the near future and external players and Russia in particular should make more efforts at crisis resolution.

The situation around the Temple Mount in Jerusalem will unlikely be settled in the near future and external players and Russia in particular should make more efforts at crisis resolution, Israeli Ambassador to Russia Gary Koren told Sputnik Friday.

There is a great potential in terms of diplomatic work with countries which must take a more responsible approach. I am talking about our neighbors, and Russia may also play a good role in this regard, in particular, by urging Turkish or Jordanian leadership to calm down their tone, act constructively to resolve the situation and defuse this dangerous atmosphere," Koren said.

Cornered: Trump intends to sign "final version" of illegal Russian sanctions bill

President Donald Trump will sign into law new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea, according to the White House.

According to a statement late Friday, Trump "read early drafts of the bill" and after negotiating "critical elements," has reviewed the final version approved nearly unanimously by Congress. The Senate back it 98-2 Thursday, and the House 419-3 earlier this week.

The president "has now reviewed the final version and, based on its responsiveness to his negotiations, approves the bill and intends to sign it," the statement read.

The sanctions target Russian gas and pipeline developments by codifying six of former President Barack Obama's executive orders implemented near the end of his term.

They also take aim at Russia's major defense, mining, shipping and railway industries.

Comment: The EU is not pleased. Russia will survive, but sanctions are still a nuisance. Trump wants better relations with Russia. But as long as 98% of the Congress and Senate are clinically insane, that will be hard to do.
