Kiev fuming over simplified Russian citizenship for Ukrainians working in Russia calling it 'discriminatory'

Russian and Ukraine passports
Kiev is exercised by the rapid transformation of its citizens into Russians. The new law on citizenship in the Russian Federation destroys the foundations of the Bandera ideology, confirming the unity of Russians and Ukrainians.

The law signed by Vladimir Putin, which simplifies the process of acquiring citizenship including (and above all) for Ukrainians, caused a real flurry of emotions in Kiev, among which emotions: panic. In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine did not come up with anything smarter on what to call the Russian law on citizenship, which comes into force on September 1, "discriminatory:"

"We regard this step as a continuation of legal discrimination and infringement of the rights of citizens of Ukraine, who by virtue of different circumstances live or work in the territory of Russia," the statement of the foreign ministry of the Kiev junta said.

Killary's 'Russia-hacking' ruse to save her campaign

The "Russia hacking" flap has nothing to do with Russia and nothing to do with hacking. The story is basically a DNC invention that was concocted to mitigate the political fallout from the nearly 50,000 emails that WikiLeaks planned to publish on July 22, 2016, just 3 days before the Democratic National Convention. That's what this is really all about. Russia didn't hack anything, it's a big diversion that was conjured up on-the-fly to keep Hillary's bandwagon from going down in flames.

Put yourself in Hillary's shoes for a minute. She knew the deluge was coming and she knew it was going to be bad. (According to Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, DNC contractor Crowdstrike claimed to find evidence of Russian malware on DNC servers just three days after WikiLeaks announced that it was about "about to publish "emails related to Hillary Clinton." Clearly, that was no coincidence. The plan to blame Russia was already underway.)

Hillary knew that the emails were going to expose the DNC's efforts to rig the primaries and torpedo Bernie Sanders campaign, and she knew that the media was going to have a field-day dissecting the private communications word by word on cable news or splashing them across the headlines for weeks on end. It was going to be excruciating. She knew that, they all knew that.

A former Canadian defense minister says he "regrets" that Ottawa did not advance talks to join the US missile defense program years ago, citing the recent North Korean military and missile tests.

Peter MacKay, who served as Canadian defense minister from 2007 to 2013, says he wishes he had signed onto the program when he had the chance, emphasizing the increasing threats posed by North Korea.

"We share a great deal of intelligence with the United States and if they're alarmed, we should be alarmed," MacKay told CBC News, adding that not being part of the program is a "big problem."

Russian envoy to UN: Moscow 'won't bend or break' over US sanctions

Moscow "won't bend" and has no plans to change its policies following Donald Trump's signing of new anti-Russian sanctions, says its permanent representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia.

"Those who invented this bill, if they were thinking that they might change our policy they were wrong, as history many times proved. They should have known better that we do not bend and do not break," Nebenzia told journalists in New York.

Nebenzia, who was appointed last month to replace the late Vitaly Churkin, added that the ratification was expected, and would "inevitably" further damage the relationship between the two countries.

"Some of the US officials were saying that this is a bill that might encourage Russia to cooperate... This is a strange form of encouragement. But it is not our habit to be resentful children," continued the diplomat, who promised that Moscow would "not relent on finding means and ways" to cooperate in the international arena over issues such as Syria.

Qatar will purchase seven navy vessels from Italy in a major defense deal worth $6billion, the country's foreign ministry said, amid the ongoing feud between the oil-rich Gulf monarchy and Saudi-led bloc of several Arab nations.

"I am pleased to announce the conclusion of a deal between the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces to buy seven naval units from Italy in the context of the joint military cooperation between the two countries," Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, Qatar's foreign minister, said on Wednesday, as quoted by Reuters.

The official declined to give further details on the name of Italian companies or the ships themselves, but added the deal was estimated at $5.91 billion.

Last June, Italy's state-run shipbuilding corporation Fincantieri announced a 4-billion-euro contract to deliver some vessels for Qatari Navy.

US President Donald Trump has called for an expansive post-Brexit trade deal with Britain, offering American food producers greater access to the UK market. He also cautioned Scotland against holding a second vote on independence.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump called for one big deal that would "include everything."

Asked whether such an agreement "could kick in pretty much as soon as Brexit happens," Trump said "as soon as it's appropriate to have it kick in, absolutely. And it'll be a big trade deal - much, much more business than we do right now, many, many times."

"We have a very good relationship. I have a very good relationship with the prime minister. And we are absolutely looking to do a major trade deal."

Trump said the "very all-in" deal will involve greater trade in such sectors as financial services and agriculture.

Indiegogo bans journalists working in Donbass after BBC smear article

Patrick Lancaster
The BBC has been doing everything it can to foment the ongoing bombing of civilians in East Ukraine. The idea of said dirt poor civilians getting some charity from well-wishers in the West makes their editors gnash their teeth at night, so they did what they could to put a stop to it.

The American independent journalist and charity organizer, Patrick Lancaster, (Facebook) writes in from Donetsk, the capital of one of the separatist Ukrainian republics, saying that he has been banned from Indiegogo, after the BBC published an article about him and other expat activists and journalists, including the fantastically brave and admirable Graham Phillips, who openly sympathize with the separatists.

Lancaster uses crowdfunding to raise money for desperately poor civilians caught in the Ukrainian civil war.

Juncker says EU "ready" to react within days if US sanctions hurt EU interests

Europe will come up with an "adequate" response and "within days" if the newly-signed US anti-Russian sanctions law hurts the interests of European companies working with Russia, European Commission Head Jean-Claude Juncker has warned.

European interests should be always taken into account when it comes to enabling new US sanctions, Juncker said in an interview to the German ARD-Europastudio Brussel.

"We must defend our economic interests even against the US. And that is what we are going to do," Juncker said.

"We are ready," he added, pointing out that EU reserves the right to take retaliatory measures in case its interests are violated. He also drew attention to the fact that the newly-signed US law can have "unpredictable" consequences for the EU in the field of energy security.

Comment: Truly a facepalm moment. It would be funny if it weren't so sad. Washington seemingly is willing to cut off its own head in order to spite its face. Meanwhile the "sanctioned" are laughing all the way to the bank. See:

Sanctions backfire: Russia and Iran sign $2.5B deal, as U.S. legislates itself out of a lucrative market

putin rouhani

Russia and Iran signed a $2.5 billion deal on Monday to start up a much-needed rail wagon production operation. The agreement was forged between the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) and Transmashholding, who is Russia's largest rail equipment supplier. The two sides will set up a new joint venture, which will be 80% owned - although completely funded - by the Russian partner.

Iran is currently in the midsts of what could be called an infrastructure building bonanza. Emerging from decades of sanctions which left much of the country's transportation infrastructure descending into proverbial ruins, Iran has embarked upon a near complete rebuild of its highway and rail networks. The country is expected to add on 15,000 kilometers of new rail lines in the next five years alone - a rapid expansion which is going to require 8,000-10,000 new wagons each year.

Reinvigorating the transport sector is a key part of Iran's vision to leverage its geographic position to become a vibrant hub of trans-Eurasian trade, which plugs nicely into China's Belt and Road Initiative and Russia's continued economic activity in the post-Soviet neighborhood. Iran is also a core partner, along with Russia and India, in the emerging North-South Transport Corridor, which seeks to create a multimodal trade route that would cut the lead time between cities on the west coast of India and St. Petersburg in half, and has also worked out its territorial squabbles with Russia over the Caspian Sea.

Comment: In fact, China has been involved in Iran's infrastructure boom, bigly. Funny how U.S. sanctions only pushes countries like Iran, China, and Russia together. Add Syria to that list. And Iraq... We suppose that's what the U.S. considers "winning". Well, so be it.

Wasserman Schultz aide was liquidating US assets on day he was arrested

Imran Awan, a congressional aide arrested by the FBI after wiring $300,000 to Pakistan and misrepresenting the purpose, had previously wired money to the country and was frantically liquidating multiple real estate properties on the day he was arrested, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

Imran's real estate properties provide a source of money that could be sent directly to Pakistan when two upcoming home sales close. Prosecutors have since filed paperwork saying they fear "the dissipation of the proceeds of the fraud and destruction of evidence in other locations."

Imran was arrested July 24 - four months after the FBI says his wife Hina Alvi moved to Pakistan after learning the family was the subject of a criminal investigation into their work as IT administrators for House Democrats. On the day of Imran's arrest, the couple accepted a buyer for one house owned by Hina with an asking price of $618,000 (Hawkshead Dr.) and listed another property for sale at $200,000 (Pembrook Village), real estate records show.

On June 20, a third house his wife owned was "sold" to his brother-in-law for $360,000 (Sprayer St.). In November 2016, a fourth home his wife owned was "sold" to his brother Jamal for $620,000 (Linnett Hill Dr.). In both cases, the bank financed nearly all of the purchase.
