Hezbollah and Syrian Army units partners in finishing off Al-Nusra terrorists

UN armored vehicle
A UN armored vehicle parked near the Lebanon – Israeli border crossing.
It came unexpectedly, rapidly and with great force: on 21 July 2016, Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Syrian army from their side, in unison, attacked positions of the malevolent terrorist group, Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly known as Al-Nusra Front), in the mountainous province of Jroud Arsal in Bekaa Valley, on the border of two countries.

Simultaneously, the Lebanese Army surrounded and hermetically sealed the area around Arsal town, preventing new terrorist forces from entering the battle zone.

More than 150 militants were killed. Two dozen Hezbollah fighters lost their lives. Despite the difficult mountainous terrain, the battle was swift, heroic and well coordinated. The group was forced into accepting a ceasefire agreement, which went into effect on 27 July, and which stipulates that all of its fighters will be transferred by the army to a designated area inside Syria (Idlib).

Vanessa Beeley, Associate Editor of the 21st Century Wire, wrote this comment for my essay, literally from "the rubble of East Aleppo":
"This is a momentous victory for the Resistance against the NATO and Gulf state terrorists. The black flags have been torn down in Arsal and the flags of Hezbollah, Lebanon and Syria are flying side by side as a symbol of the unity of anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist forces in the region. The heroes who gave their lives for this hard-won victory will always be remembered and honored by those whose lives and culture had been under threat from the malevolent forces of extremism and terrorism."
Who are these terrorists, based for so long at both sides of the border?

Netanyahu pledges support for an independent 'Iraqi Kurdistan', Russia urges delay in referendum

Benjamin Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the US Congress that his administration fully supports the independence of the so-called "Iraqi Kurdistan" and its separation from Iraq, according to Jerusalem Post.

During a meeting with the 33-member congressional delegation last week, Netanyahu pointed out that he fully supports the establishment of an "independent Kurdish state" in north of Iraq.

The newspaper also said that Netanyahu does not often address the Kurdish issue, namely due to being "politically sensitive", especially because of the more reserved traditional American position, and certainly that of a Trump administration, which prefers seeing Iraq as a united and undivided state, in addition to the Kurdish issue being a red line for Turkey, a fellow NATO ally who is gravely concerned that such developments in Iraq might impact the Kurdish-majority areas in Turkey that have already experienced attempts of separatism.

Comment: Also this from the US: Tillerson allegedly urged Iraqi Kurdistan president to delay independence vote

American hypocrisy: Assange asks why US said nothing when Obama supported Ukrainian neo-Nazis

Ukraine neo-nazi marchers
Julian Assange sees the bigger picture behind Americans hypocrisy and double-standards.
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has sent a series of highly apposite Tweets regarding the recent right wing versus left wing protests in Charlottesville that have resulting in one death and multiple injuries.

In the above Tweet, Assange has juxtaposed a neo-Nazi torch march in Kiev with the far-right torch march in Charlottesville. Apart from the torches, it is clear that the Ukrainian fascists were far more equipped for violence as they were wearing bullet-proof combat gear and facial coverings.

Pyongyang's main economic lifeline falls as China begins banning key imports from N. Korea

China has announced a full ban on imports of coal, iron, and seafood, among other goods from North Korea, thus cutting key export revenues for Pyongyang.

Starting Tuesday, no more exports of North Korean coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore and seafood will be accepted to the country, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday. Goods that have already reached Chinese ports and customs should be released not later than September 5.

However, the measures are not applied to exports of coal through North Korea's Rason port by a third party, if it has UN approval and can prove that the goods do not originate from North Korea.

The announcement indicates Beijing's full implementation of the latest UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution against North Korea, which targets key revenue sources of the communist state, depriving it of $1 billion annual foreign revenue. The restrictive measures were unanimously approved by all 15 members of the UNSC in response to North Korea's latest missile tests, which it claims were of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

North Korea has learned the brutal lessons of US regime change and will not disarm

Kim Jong Un

Will World War III kick off this week because of the bellicose actions of a buffoonish leader with a dodgy hair-cut and his sinister nuclear-armed warmongering rogue state? Or, can Donald Trump and the US be deterred?

Of course, in State Department-friendly Western media, it's North Korea and its leadership who are routinely portrayed as the nut jobs. But you don't have to carry a torch for the North Korean government or be a card-carrying member of the Kim Jong-un Appreciation Society to acknowledge that the country's leadership has actually been behaving very rationally. Because recent history tells us that the best way to deter an attack from the US and its allies is not to disarm, dress up as John Lennon and make statements about how much you desire peace, but to do the exact opposite.

Consider what happened to Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya. Like the DPRK, all three were US 'target states'. And all three were destroyed and their leaders killed. Do we honestly think these countries would have been attacked had they possessed nukes or missiles that could reach US targets? Of course not. Detailed analysis of these conflicts shows us that the Empire gets its way through a mixture of bluff followed by the use of military force, but only when it believes the risks are minimal, or non-existent. If it believes the risks are too high, it backs off and starts talking about the need for 'dialogue' and 'diplomacy'.

To understand how the global hegemon acts in the international arena we don't need to study huge academic textbooks, only remember what happens in the school playground.

Zapped over Zapad: NATO double think on war games reaches brain-dead condition

With four weeks to go until the start of Russia's Zapad ("West") war games in Belarus, Western media are already reporting alarm bells that the exercise is a cover for an invasion into NATO countries.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the United States is mobilizing a giant military force within days off the Korea Peninsula that could very well ignite World War III. Strangely enough, or perhaps not, the Western media report no concern about that much more ominous development.

The selective hysteria and double think over Russia-Belarusian military defense exercises, which occur every four years, makes a good case that those maneuvers should be renamed 'Zapped' - such is the brain-dead condition of NATO governments' thinking and the Western media reporting.

Russia and Belarus claim that the total number of troops involved are around 13,000. The US and other NATO members counter-claim that the numbers are in the 100,000 order.

Leaked email reveals Tony Blair bankrolled by wealthy UAE while Middle East peace envoy

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was funded by a wealthy Arab state while serving as Middle East peace envoy, leaked emails seen by the Sunday Telegraph reveal.

Blair's official role in the Quartet, a group comprising the US, EU, Russia, and the United Nations (UN) seeking to find a peaceful solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, was funded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Blair, however, also received millions in consultancy fees by the very same Arab state and the sovereign wealth fund of its capital, Abu Dhabi, raising questions over whether the New Labour founder had a conflict of interest.

A spokeswoman for Blair dismissed the claims, insisting he "never used his Quartet role to pursue business interests" and "did no commercial work connected with the Israeli/Palestinian issue."

Libyan National Army Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar said Monday he raised the issue of Russia providing military help to Libya during his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Haftar and Lavrov met earlier in the day in Moscow.

"Yes, we discussed it [the issue of military aid]. I am sure Russia remains a good friend of ours and will not refuse to help," Haftar told reporters.

It is the third visit of the Libyan National Army commander to Moscow. He held a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in June 2016 and a meeting with Lavrov in November 2016, during which Haftar already asked Russia for military aid supplies in order to fight against the Islamists.

Report indicates Israeli PM seeks powers to declare war without full government support

The Justice Ministry of Israel is reportedly working on a draft amendment to the Basic law, according to Israeli Channel 2 TV broadcaster. The bill would make it easier for the prime minister to start military operations or even declare war.

If adopted, the initiative would enable the prime minister to declare war or get approval for military operations without the approval of all members of the Security Cabinet, a special body within the Israeli Cabinet designed to outline defense policies.

According to Channel2, the bill aims to give the full cabinet the power to authorize the Security Cabinet to make war-related decisions even if not all members of the security cabinet are present. The initiative also means that the full cabinet would not need to be briefed on the Security Cabinet's decisions. Consequently, the bill simplifies the process of declaring a war or taking steps that could escalate a military operation into a war.

UK historic child abuse panel member claims she was silenced by Theresa May's advisors to ensure she became PM

Theresa May and Sharon Evans
In an extraordinary interview recorded yesterday, a child abuse survivor who served on the Government's independent inquiry into historic child sexual abuse has claimed she was silenced by Theresa May's advisors to ensure that Ms May became Prime Minister.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg of Ms Evans' startling claims about her time serving on the inquiry.

Speaking to talkRADIO, Sharon Evans, a former journalist and the founder of Dot Com Children's Foundation, said that the panel were "promised the child abuse inquiry would be open", but after a short while she saw that it was 'so obvious that everything was about the control and suppression of information" and that the supposedly independent inquiry had absolutely "no independence'.

Ms Evans claimed that the contracts panel members were made to sign by the Home Office were used to stop them from speaking openly about "very serious allegations about very public figures" - allegations which she says were taken back to the inquiry leaders, but 'nothing was being done about" them.

Comment: The inquiry into historic child sex abuse in the UK is was never meant to sincerely investigate these vile crimes against innocent children because many have been perpetrated by the very Establishment that has always colluded to protect the monsters who stalk the corridors of power. The inquiry was simply meant to create an illusion that justice is being served.
