'We don't see human rights here': Migrant families flee brutal wars for prison on Greek islands

Dire conditions for refugees trapped on Greek islands this winter, including overcrowded and unsafe camps, scant services, and a complex and arduous legal process, have spiraled into a humanitarian crisis.

On the islands, UNHCR says that 80 percent of the nearly 5,000 arrivals in September had fled war zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, with two-thirds of them women and children.

Seymour Hersh: Hillary Clinton provided nerve gas to terrorists in Syria to use them as the excuse to invade

Hillary
Respected investigative journalist, Seymour Hersh, has claimed that Hillary Clinton sold nerve gas to Syrian terrorists whilst she was acting as secretary of state.

Hersh claimed that the Obama Administration falsely blamed the Government of Syria's Bashar al-Assad for the sarin gas attack, which they were hoping to use as an excuse to invade Syria. Hersh also claims that the Obama administration assisted in approving the transfer of deadly chemical weapons from Lybia to terrorists who were operational in Syria.

According to Zero Hedge: "By the terms of the agreement, funding came from Turkey, as well as Saudi Arabia and Qatar; the CIA, with the support of MI6, was responsible for getting arms from Gaddafi's arsenals into Syria. "However, now, for the first time, Hersh has implicated Hillary Clinton directly in this 'rat line'.

In an interview with Alternet.org, Hersh was asked about the then-US-Secretary-of-State's role in the Benghazi Libya US consulate's operation to collect weapons from Libyan stockpiles and send them through Turkey into Syria for a set-up sarin-gas attack, to be blamed on Assad in order to 'justify' the US invading Syria, as the US had invaded Libya to eliminate Gaddafi.

Comment: All this of course is the real story behind the death of Chris Stevens in Benghazi, Libya. But, like so many other high crimes that Hillary Clinton has gotten away with, her cronies have let it pass - probably because they know that she'd bring a whole lot of them down with her.

What a surprise! Men in political power abuse women out of an "all-consuming, and insatiable need to control and dominate"

Joe Biden on Ashton Carter's Wife
Joe Biden on Ashton Carter's wife during press conference
Thanks to Donald Trump and Alabama judge Roy Moore, men in power nationwide suddenly find themselves besieged by accusations of sexual misconduct including rape and pedophilia. No one should be surprised. The same year Assistant District Attorney Roy Moore was reportedly forcing himself on 16-year-old Beverly Nelson, a book-length psychiatric study revealed in detail the abusive sexual habits of men in power, especially those in politics. There's no reason to think men in power are any different today than they were back then, in 1977.

Comment: The examples of Trump and Roy Moore are not good ones, but do read on...

Here's what the study found:

Many politicians have an exaggerated drive for sexual dominance. To compensate, they are much more likely than ordinary men to visit prostitutes, and to do so much more often, averaging 2 or 3 times per week. This reflects "a psychic structure which generates extreme sexual needs that seem to be basic to the power drive itself."

Furthermore, few politicians visit prostitutes for straight sex: "the vast majority" of them are seeking "kinky sex," which the 1977 study defined to include exhibitionism, voyeurism, cross-dressing, fetishism, threesomes, golden showers, humiliation, bondage, and flagellation. "By far the most common service politicians demand from call girls is to be beaten," the study reported. Most politicians prefer sex that is sadomasochistic in nature, involving bondage, "discipline," humiliation and pain. As one prostitute reported, "Sometimes it is hard to think of things that will hurt them badly enough to keep them happy." The study offered an elaborate Freudian explanation for this weird behavior.

Comment: It seems that if many of the men who go into politics aren't psychopaths going in to their new jobs, then something about the culture of U.S. government drives many of them to become more depraved and pathological the longer they are there.

Flashback India's 9/11: Who was Behind the Mumbai Attacks?

The Taj Mahal Hotel
The Taj Mahal Hotel
The Mumbai terror attacks were part of a carefully planned and coordinated operation involving several teams of experienced and trained gunmen.

The operation has the fingerprints of a paramilitary-intelligence operation. According to a Russian counter terrorist expert, the Mumbai terrorists "used the same tactics that Chechen field militants employed in the Northern Caucasus attacks where entire towns were terrorized, with homes and hospitals seized". (Russia Today, November 27, 2008).

The Mumbai attacks are described as " India's 9/11".

The attacks were carried out simultaneously in several locations, within minutes of each other.

The first target was in the main hall of Mumbai's Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station (CST), where the gunmen fired indiscriminately into the crowd of passengers. The gunmen " then ran out of the station and into neighboring buildings, including Cama Hospital"

Attacks by separate groups of gunmen took place at two of Mumbai's luxury hotels - the Oberoi-Trident and the Taj Mahal Palace, located at the heart of the tourist area, within proximity of the Gateway of India.

Flashback Indian anti-corruption official: Mumbai attacks orchestrated by India, U.S., Pakistan intelligence services

A senior Indian police officer and anti-corruption investigator last month accused the Indian government of orchestrating the Mumbai terror attacks which occurred nearly seven years ago, according to an Indian government official.

R. V. S. Mani, a former undersecretary in India's home ministry now in the urban development ministry, testified in July that a senior police officer who investigated the 2004 'encounter killings' of four Indian Muslims in Gujarat by the Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch, had told him that the 2008 Mumbai attacks were "set up" by the Indian government.

The police officer, Satish Verma — currently Principal at the Police Training College in Junagadh — is well-known for his secondment to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India's elite anti-corruption law enforcement agency, to lead the probe into the 2004 'encounter killings.'

The 2004 victims were Ishrat Jahan Raza, a 19-year-old girl from Mumbra, Maharashtra, and three men — Pranesh Pillai (alias Javed Gulam Sheikh), Amjad Ali Rana and Zeeshan Johar. Gujarat police authorities with the support of Indian government officials claimed that the killings were justified due to credible intelligence linking the four to Islamist terrorists.

Comment: You can probably add Israel's Mossad to the list: This type of operation is standard procedure. Plan the attack, train and handle the 'terrorists', then push through draconian 'anti-terror' legislation and ridicule anyone who points out the obvious.

Flashback Mumbai terror suspect David Headley was 'rogue US secret agent'

Mumbai attacks
© UnknownDavid Headley was allegedly involved in reconnoitring targets for the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, including the Taj Hotel
A key terror suspect who allegedly helped to plan last year's attacks in Mumbai and plotted to strike Europe was an American secret agent who went rogue, Indian officials believe.

David Headley, 49, who was born in Washington to a Pakistan diplomat father and an American mother, was arrested in Chicago in October. He is accused of reconnoitring targets in India and Europe for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the Pakistan-based terror group behind the Mumbai attacks and of having links to al-Qaeda. He has denied the charges.

He came to the attention of the US security services in 1997 when he was arrested in New York for heroin smuggling. He earned a reduced sentence by working for the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) infiltrating Pakistan-linked narcotics gangs.

© HT File PhotoOne hundred and sixty-six people died and more than 300 injured in the attacks on November 26, 2008.
On this day, nine years ago, Mumbai was under siege as members of terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) carried out attacks at landmark places such as Taj Hotel, CST railway station, Cafe Leopold that had killed 166 and injured more than 300.

The release of 26/11 mastermind, Hafiz Saeed, from house arrest on November 24, has "outraged" the Indian government and has been condemned by the United States, which has been witnessing terrorist attacks recently.

Here's what had happened in Mumbai on November 26, 2008:

Dubai security chief wants to bomb Al Jazeera

Khalfan
© Ahmed Jadallah/ReutersKhalfan has made several controversial comments in the past
A senior security official in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sparked outrage after calling for the bombing of Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based media network.

In a series of posts on Twitter on Friday, Dubai Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan launched a scathing attack against Al Jazeera, accusing it of provoking a bomb and gun assault on a mosque in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula earlier in the day.

"The alliance must bomb the machine of terrorism ... the channel of ISIL, al-Qaeda and the al-Nusra front, Al Jazeera the terrorists," the former police chief and now head of security in the Emirate told his 2.42 million followers on the social media site.

"For how long will they [Al Jazeera] continue to tamper with the security of Egypt and the Arab world?" he tweeted.

Comment: Here's the thing: Khalfan isn't wrong about Al Jazeera. They've been the media arm for "moderate rebels" in Syria for years. But by Khalfan's logic, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo are all complicit in the same crimes. We doubt he'd call for them to be bombed too, however. He's just another blowhard in the anti-Iran (and anti-Qatar, by extension) hysteria machine of late.

Iraq to export Kurdish region oil to Turkey via new pipeline

Iraq plans to construct a new pipeline to transport oil from Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan, the Iraqi Oil Ministry confirmed on Sunday. Oil exports from Kirkuk have been on hold since Iraq recaptured the Kurdish-controlled oilfields last month.

The new pipeline will replace a damaged section of the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline, connecting the nearby city of Baiji with Turkey's Fish-Khabur border area. Exports had been suspended in retaliation for a Kurdish independence referendum in September.

Iraq's Oil Ministry expressed hopes that the new pipeline would double Kirkuk's oil exports to 1 million barrels per day.

"The old pipeline has been severely damaged due to the repeated subversive operations of Daesh [Arabic pejorative term for IS, formerly ISIS] gangs," oil ministry spokesman Asem Jihad said. "Specialized companies will be invited soon for presenting tenders," he added.

Saudi Crown Prince vows to 'wipe terrorists from the face of the earth'

The summit follows the Saudi crown prince's statement in favor of the country returning to "moderate Islam," which came amid a number of steps aimed at expanding women's rights.

Saudi Arabia has gathered defense ministers and senior officials from 40 Muslim states at the first meeting of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, in a move described as a "clear signal" to extremism by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who vowed to "pursue terrorists until they are wiped from the face of the earth."

Comment: The difficulty with this statement is understanding how the coalition defines terrorists.

Addressing the summit, the Saudi crown prince said, as quoted by Reuters, "In past years, terrorism has been functioning in all of our countries," adding that "this ends today, with this alliance."

According to the prince, the states are set to "work together to support the military, financial, intelligence and political efforts of every member state."
