The Democrats' weaponization of cultural Marxism

cultural Marxism
Cultural Marxism and its destructive weapon called "Identity Politics" foretells the suicide of American society. But when one looks at how the Democrat party has sold itself to the theory of Identity Politics, it is clearly not a struggle for social equality. Rather, it nothing more than a very cynical bid for supreme power. That is, the party leadership knows they are able to level the charge of racism at their enemies. They can do this when needed and expect nothing more than defensive posturing. This is a very exploitable weakness, indeed.

Steve Bannon's speech to Marine Le Pen's National Front congress last weekend is a perfect example: "If they call you a racist, or a xenophobe, let them. It is a badge of honor." What can be a greater sign of weakness, of total defeat in the face of one's enemies, than advise a surrender to slander? Bannon would better advise, "If they call you a racist, tell them to shut their mouths! No protest of innocence. No argument of logic. Just shut them down!"

At this time in history, with three elected centers of power denied them, the Democrats wield Identity Politics as a weapon of mass destruction. However, this puts an entire swath of their own traditional voter base at risk. The white working class are easy victims of this cultural carpet-bombing technique. They might expose themselves to destruction as well, since every one of them are the same white wealthy elderly elites they claim are out to destroy America's progress.

Lavrov on Williamson 'shut up' remark: 'Nice young man seeks place in history but lacks upbringing'

Russia no longer pays much attention to hostile statements like the one made by UK Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson, who said Moscow should "go away and shut up," Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

He chided the 41-year-old British official for his remarks made in reference to the ongoing stand-off between London and Moscow over the poisoning of a former Russian double agent in Britain.

"He is a nice young man. He probably wants to get a place in history by making bold statements," he suggested. "[UK Prime Minister] Theresa May now has 'highly possible' as her main argument backing Russia's alleged guilt. He has 'Russia should go away and shut up.' Well, I don't know. Maybe he lacks upbringing."

President Trump plays cards close in commenting on Skripal assassination attempt

Trump

On 15 March, the United Kingdom, together with allies Germany, France and the United States, issued a collective statement regarding the allegation that the assassination attempt on ex-spy Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia were orchestrated by agencies in the Russian Federation:

This looks like a united front, but in reality, as regards the American president, this is not quite the case.

Comment: Hysteria produces chaos, most critically in the political/global arena. President Trump, at least this time, limits his response to what is necessary with sensitivity, versus off-the-cuff blanket statements based on unconfirmed 'facts' that have unanticipated results. British mania has been a prime example.

Saudi prince: Kingdom will build nuclear weapons if Iran does

MB Salman
© Saudi GazetteMuhammed Bin Salman
Saudi Arabia's crown prince asserted on March 15 that the kingdom will develop nuclear weapons if Iran does, in a television interview immediately denounced by Tehran.

Iran signed a nuclear deal with world powers in 2015 that prohibits it from developing nuclear weapons, and beyond that. Tehran has said it has no ambition to develop such weapons of mass destruction.

However, U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to pull out of the nuclear deal, and Tehran has said that, if the United States withdraws, it will no longer be bound by the deal.

"Saudi Arabia does not want to acquire any nuclear bomb, but without a doubt if Iran developed a nuclear bomb, we will follow suit as soon as possible," Saudi Prince Muhammad bin Salman told CBS television in an excerpt from an interview released on March 15. The full interview is due to be aired on March 18.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi responded sharply, saying the Saudi prince was a "delusional naive person" who "never talks, but with lies and bitterness" and has "no idea of politics," Iranian television reported.

Comment: Does President Trump not see where this is going?

More from RT:
In a preview of the interview [CBS 60 Minutes], the 32-year-old Saudi royal described the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as "the new Hitler" because "he wants to expand."

"He wants to create his own project in the Middle East... very much like Hitler, who wanted to expand at the time. Many countries around the world and in Europe did not realize how dangerous Hitler was until what happened, happened. I don't want to see the same events happening in the Middle East."

Asked about Saudi Arabia's view of nuclear armaments, the prince declared that the country will seek to develop such weaponry only if it comes under threat from Iran.

The crown prince added: "Iran is not a rival to Saudi Arabia, it's army is not among the top five armies in the Muslim world. The Saudi economy is larger than the Iranian economy. Iran is far from being equal to Saudi Arabia."

The prince's comments come in the same week that Saudi Arabia approved a nuclear power program for energy purposes.

Media madness: Trump is about to fire National Security Advisor McMaster...White House says NO!

Reports in US media about President Donald Trump's plans to fire National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster have prompted the White House to issue a denial. This comes days after Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

On Thursday, CNN and the Washington Post, citing sources with knowledge of the situation, reported that Trump has been actively searching for a replacement for the three-star general. McMaster fell out of favor due to his lack of flexibility and unnecessarily long briefings, two sources told the Post, referring to conversations the president had with Chief of Staff John Kelly. CNN reported that McMaster might be sacked as soon as Friday.

Hours after both reports came out, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders dismissed them, saying that "contrary to reports" McMaster and Trump "have a good working relationship and there are no changes at the NSC [National Security Council.]"

Reports have been circulating that more heads could be about to roll in the Trump administration in the near future. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump, however, dismissed rumors of a major looming shake-up as "very exaggerated." "The story was very false. They wrote a story about staff changes today that was very false," Trump said when asked by a reporter if there were "any more staff changes coming."

Comment: With herd mentality, the media is off and running to chase a phantom rabbit down a hole. See also:

'She tortured just for the sake of torture' says CIA whistleblower on CIA pick Gina Haspel

Former CIA officer and whistleblower John Kiriakou personally knew CIA director nominee Gina Haspel when he worked at the CIA. But their careers have taken very different paths over the past decade. Haspel, who was directly involved in torture at a secret CIA prison in Thailand, has been promoted to head the agency. Kiriakou, who blew the whistle on the torture program, ended up being jailed for 23 months. For more, we speak with John Kiriakou, who spent 14 years at the CIA as an analyst and case officer.

AMY GOODMAN: As we continue to talk about the latest shake-up in the Trump administration, let's bring into this conversation former CIA officer John Kiriakou, who personally knew CIA director nominee Gina Haspel when he worked at the CIA. But their careers have taken very different paths over the past decade. Haspel, who was directly involved in torture at a secret CIA prison in Thailand, has been promoted to now head the agency. Kiriakou, who blew the whistle on the torture program, ended up being jailed for almost two years.

John Kiriakou, welcome back to Democracy Now! Can you respond to President Trump's decision to fire Rex Tillerson and replace Tillerson with Pompeo as secretary of state? Pompeo, head of the CIA, would be then replaced by the deputy director of the CIA, Gina Haspel.

Comment: One has to wonder if the president did more than give a glance in vetting his two choices of Secretary of State and CIA Director.

US military cuts operations at Turkey's Incirlik airbase - Leaving Syria is best way out of predicament

Turkey’s İncirlik air base
Turkey’s İncirlik air base
The US military has significantly reduced its operations at Turkey's İncirlik air base. Permanent cutbacks are under consideration as tensions between the two NATO allies continue to flare. Now that the warplanes are gone, only the refueling aircraft are left. There have been reports that the A-10 Warthogs have left for Afghanistan. The number of personnel and their family members has been decreased. US officials complain Turkey is obstructing its air operations. It should be noted that the voices calling for the eviction of the US military from Incirlik have been heard in that country before.

Ankara sees the base as leverage it can use against Washington. With no operations based there, the US military would be in a tough spot. Perhaps it already is.

The WSJ article about the US leaving Incirlik appeared right after the bilateral working groups met in Washington on March 8-9 to try to improve their declining relationship. Not much has been reported about the results of those talks, but if it were a success story, we would know by now. Washington was definitely at sea when Turkish forces launched an operation to take control of Afrin. It looks like it still is.

Meanwhile, the disagreement about the policy on Syria appears to be intractable. Turkey still insists it should establish control over the Syrian town of Manbij, which has a large Kurdish population, making Washington choose between Ankara and the Kurds. The town is patrolled by the US military and if Turkish forces move in, that will result in a very real clash. In its remarks about the meetings between the working groups, the State Department made no mention of Manbij. They would be delighted to report on any progress that had been achieved, but no, they avoided the issue. Evidently that relationship is really teetering on the edge.

Comment: An Iranian military delegation led by a deputy defense minister visited Ankara for talks with ranking Turkish military officials on various issues, including closer military cooperation for regional peace.
The Iranian delegation, led by Deputy Defense Minister General Mohammad Ahadi, held separate meetings with Turkish military authorities in Ankara on Wednesday.

In a meeting with Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff General Umit Dundar, the two sides explored avenues for closer military and defense cooperation between Tehran and Ankara to contribute to regional peace and stability.

They also stressed the need to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries in the region.

Also on Wednesday, the Iranian deputy defense minister held talks with his Turkish counterpart Suay Alpay and senior officials in charge of Turkey's military industries.

Iran, Russia and Turkey, guarantors of the Syria ceasefire, have reaffirmed their strong commitment to the Arab country's sovereignty and territorial integrity after a tripartite foreign ministerial meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Russian and Turkish counterparts, Sergei Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu, convened in the Kazakh capital to address the situation in Syria on Friday.

The city has been hosting talks aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the seven-year crisis in Syria.

Comment: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Astana process has proved it's important and it helps in resolving the crisis in Syria.
In a welcoming speech before the talks with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts in the Kazakh Capital on Friday, Lavrov said that the progress achieved at Astana platform gives a positive impetus to the political settlement of the crisis in Syria.

Lavrov clarified that those who violate all norms of international law and the UN Security Council Resolution No.2254 obviously seek to schemes that threaten Syria's unity and territorial integrity adding that whoever wants to do so will not agree to the Astana talks.

"I hope that the US-led coalition realizes the necessity of not fencing off terrorists, as it's happening now in Eastern Ghouta, but will fight terrorist groups consistently and on principle," Lavrov said.

MPs retweet claim that Porton Down scientists can't identify nerve agent as evidence of being Russian

Several MPs have retweeted claims that scientists at the British lab investigating the poisoning of ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter are actually struggling to identify the source of the nerve agent used.

Craig Murray, the former UK ambassador to Uzbekistan turned blogger, wrote on his website that scientists at Porton Down, the center responsible for identifying the nerve agent allegedly used in the attack against the Skripals, have failed to find evidence of Russian "culpability." He said a "well-placed" source in the Foreign Office told him.

Murray added scientists had been "resentful" over the pressure put on them to prove the military-grade nerve agent is of Russian manufacture. The blogger's comments and concerns were retweeted by Labour MP Chris Williamson, a frequent guest on RT, and the Scottish National Party's Douglas Chapman.
