Dem Staffer Jackson Cosko arrested for doxxing Congressmans' personal information is not an 'unpaid intern'

jackson cosko dox congress info
congressional staffer Jackson Cosko
Capitol Police on October 3 arrested 27-year old congressional staffer Jackson Cosko for posting on Wikipedia the private addresses of three members of the Senate Judiciary Committee-what's known as "doxxing" (a word derived from the shorthand for "document"). Cosko is facing serious charges that include illegally posting private information of public figures, witness tampering, threats, identity theft, and unlawful entry.

In the mainstream media, Cosko is being portrayed as a hapless overzealous intern who didn't even have the smarts to cover up his criminal act. His former boss- Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) has denied she knew anything about Cosko's activities. In a press conference held this week, Jackson-Lee explained that she fired Cosko and is cooperating with officials investigating the crimes. (Interestingly, cameras recorded Jackson-Lee passing an envelope to Christine Blasey Ford's lawyer just before her testimony got underway.)

Trump accepts Nikki Haley's 'surprise' resignation as UN ambassador

President Trump has accepted Nikki Haley's resignation as UN ambassador. Haley had wanted some time off and discussed her resignation with Trump last week at the White House.

In announcing her resignation, Trump said on Tuesday that Haley first broached the subject six months ago, when she told the president that she wanted to take some time off at the end of the year. Trump said that he hopes Haley will one day return to his administration, and told her "you can have your pick" of positions within it.

Haley will depart at the end of the year, and Trump said that he "will be in constant touch" with her afterwards.

Comment: Did we hear a collective sigh of relief? (Unless she has something more frightening in mind)

Democratic activist and fundraiser says America is racist and sexist, 'F--k the bible voters'

Laura Gassner Otting
Democrats are hoping to make gains in Republican-leaning congressional districts by running moderates with biographies that appeal to center-right voters including veterans, gun owners, and football players, and in doing so have distanced themselves from the far-left of the Democratic Party. Yet despite packaging themselves as reasonable centrists, Democrats running in Texas and Kentucky are teaming up with a motivational speaker who has a history of hostile rhetoric and negative views of middle America.

Retired Lt. Col. Amy McGrath and former Tennessee Titans linebacker Colin Allred are running in Kentucky's 6th Congressional District and Texas' 32nd District, respectively. Both candidates have been campaigning as centrists, and neither have endorsed extreme positions like, for example, abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement. But despite their carefully crafted images, they have been working with far-left-wing activist and motivational speaker Laura Gassner Otting.

American democracy: Sen. Collins describes illegal bribes and threats from liberals

senator susan collins
Sen. Susan Collins believes the nation has come to a "very sad place" as opponents of Justice Brett Kavanaugh attempt to "buy votes and buy positions."

The Maine Republican has been feeling the aftermath of her affirmative vote for the Supreme Court nominee which secured his confirmation, which she discussed with Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes Sunday.

The anti-Kavanaugh groups targeted the senator ahead of the vote and continued the attacks after she voted 'yes,' taking up the offensive as well in her home state.

"A website went up over these last couple of weeks collecting funds for whoever your opponent may be in 2020," Pelley said.

"And the deal was that if you voted for Kavanaugh, then the credit card pledges would be processed. If you voted against Kavanaugh they wouldn't process the credit card numbers," he continued. "And something over $2 million was raised."

French President Macron officially says 'no' to torture

'This is La Main Rouge,' said the gruff voice on our home telephone in Geneva, Switzerland.. 'Stop your activities on behalf of the FLN or we will kill you.' The mysterious caller hung up.

I was petrified. La Main Rouge was killing supporters of free Algeria across Europe.

This was 1959 where I was studying at the International School of Geneva. The war to liberate Algeria from 130 years of French colonial was at its bloodiest and most intense.

There is no legit reason to impose sanctions on Iran

Iran Flag

A friend in Tehran tells me that he marvels at the attitude of the United States ruling establishment towards Iran. 'Why do they hate us so much', he asks? It is a fair question. His country, he says, is not perfect, but it is certainly not a threat to the world. The current government - led by Hassan Rouhani (Iran's seventh president since the 1979 Revolution) - is moderate in many ways, its foreign minister - Javad Zarif - a man of dignity. Certainly, my friend says, there are elements inside the higher reaches of government that are erratic. But, 'don't all countries have such people in power', he says, the smile pointing towards India's Narendra Modi and Donald Trump of the United States. Can any country these days, he eggs me on, say that it does not have its own version of Trump?

In 1953, the United States and its allies overthrew the democratically elected government in Iran. The reason why Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddegh bothered the West was that he began to nationalise the oil sector. Oil firms could not tolerate this. He had to go. The overthrow of Mosaddegh brought to power the repellent Shah of Iran, who then ruled Iran with an iron fist till the Revolution of 1979. Two years into the Shah's reign, the United States and Iran signed a Treaty of Amity - a normal agreement signed between countries to promise fair treatment on a wide variety of matters. It is important to underscore that the US signed this treaty not with a democratic government - which it had overthrown - but with the autocratic regime of the Shah - which it had installed.

This week, the United States withdrew from the Treaty of Amity (1955). US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States should have torn up the treaty in 1979, thirty-nine years ago. Iran has never reneged on that treaty, despite the fact that it was signed by an autocratic regime.

Facebook, Google & Microsoft team up with the ADL as self-appointed internet censors to 'curb hate speech and abuse'

ADL Censorship
If you are reading this, that means that articles that speak against the activities of the Anti-Defamation League are not being automatically scrubbed from the internet.

Yet.

In a foreboding sign that the free expression of opinion on the internet is too much of a threat to the powerful elite of our society, the Anti-Defamation League is leading the charge in turning their own subjective opinions on 'hate speech' into the absolute rule of Internet law. As this Cnet article reports,
Facebook, Twitter, Google and Microsoft, among others, are joining with the ADL to form a Cyberhate Problem-Solving Lab, the companies and the civil rights group said Tuesday. They'll exchange ideas and develop strategies to try to curb hate speech and abuse on the companies' various platforms and across the internet.

"These companies have an added responsibility to do everything within their power to stop hate from flourishing on their watch," ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. "We look forward to tackling this pressing challenge together."

Is Soros fomenting a color revolution in Syria?

soros aborto
As the observers and analysts of events in the Middle East were busy looking at the aftermath of the downing of the IL-20 and the deployment of the S-300 in Syria, a great new danger is now looming.

President Assad issued a legislative decree (Decree No 16) and which is intended to reform the ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowments). The "Awqaf" is a Sunni Muslim tradition that has been around for centuries, and its role is to manage the funds of family trusts. After the dismembering of the Ottoman Empire, the new states separated their own "Awqaf" and established their own religious bodies to manage these affairs and funds.

Much has been said in the Arab World about Presidential Decree No. 16, but in reality, nothing has been said about its actual contents and context. When I began reading criticisms of it, they gave the impression that the Decree is handing over the executive authority of Syria to the Sunni Clergy. Videos made and posted by Syrian activists expressed grave concern about Syria following the footsteps of Saudi Arabia in imposing Shariah law on the streets of Syria. There are countless posts reiterating that they are against the imposition of Shariah dress on Syrian women and other similar concerns and linking this to the Decree. There was also confusion about the origin of the Decree and a great deal of criticism of the Minister of Awqaf as the man allegedly being behind it all.

This soon developed into a wave of paranoia and fury that dragged in many normally sombre and serious analysts and activists into supporting the outrage and expressing deep concern and even anger against the government.

Saudi Arabia's dark history of abductions

Mohammed bin Salman
© Hamad I Mohammed/ReutersSaudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman denies that Saudi Arabia abducted Jamal Khashoggi
Jamal Khashoggi walked into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday to pick up a document. Handing his phone to his fiance, he told her to call for help if he did not come out.

Hours later Khashoggi was nowhere to be seen, raising fears that the outspoken Saudi journalist had been kidnapped and possibly rendered to Saudi Arabia.

Since then, the Turkish police have launched a probe and claimed that Khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate. A claim Saudi Arabia has ridiculed.

Despite the denials, the oil-rich kingdom is an absolute monarchy and has a track record of refusing to tolerate dissent by its citizens - both domestically and abroad.
