Will intergovernmental institutions withstand the end of the "American Empire"?

The upheaval we are witnessing with Trumpism affects the United States, its national relations, and the domestic political life of its allies. It may seem strange that European leaders would criticize the President of the United States for his policies at home, in violation of the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of a foreign country. However, while they do not suffer from his reforms at home, they endure the unspeakable consequences they provoke at home. These are only just beginning.

The current situation, with the rapprochement between the United States and Russia, is shaking up the global political landscape. As a result, all intergovernmental institutions are being disrupted. It appears that some of them were pursuing an unofficial objective, which no one was quick to state publicly, but which has not withstood the test of time. Others were pursuing actions contrary to their official objectives, which was hardly a problem when all their members were in agreement, but now seems unbearable. Ultimately, multilateralism, as it was practiced, was anything but multilateral.

Comment: Meyssan proves once again he is one of the best political analysts on the planet.

Do you see the pattern? Populist party leaders all over Western Civ getting undone by the law courts — Călin Georgescu in Romania, election cancelled; Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, de-railed by President Lula's stooge judges (with CIA help); Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia shot-up with five bullets in May last year (survived miraculously); the Alternative-for-Deutschland Party de-platformed by the Scholz-Merz ruling junta; then, this week, Marine Le Pen, leading candidate (by far) for President of France, defenestrated on Mickey Mouse charges in the Paris court. And, of course, since 2015, Mr. Trump, hounded relentlessly, but not yet overthrown, due to sheer pluck and testosterone (the official hated hormone of the Left).

International lawfare is about the last remaining tool in the "Globalist" kit-bag for "color revolution," which means regime change by underhanded means, election interference being the favorite device. The poster child, of course, was the US CIA / DOD State Department regime change operation in Ukraine, 2014, that ousted Russian-leaning elected President Viktor Yanukovych, eventually leading to the installation of coke-head Volodymyr Zelensky, and ultimately to the Ukraine War that has killed over a million people. These days, astroturf (i.e., fake) street revolution (e.g., Maidan in Kiev 2014) is out; lawfare is in.

China hits back at US with 34% import tariffs

The move follows President Donald Trump's "reciprocal" duties on all Chinese goods.

China will impose a 34% tariff on all imports from the US starting April 10, the country's Finance Ministry announced on Friday. The decision follows US President Donald Trump's announcement of a 34% levy on Chinese goods in the latest escalation of a tariff war.

Beijing's announcement comes after the Ministry of Commerce condemned the US tariffs, denouncing them as "unilateral bullying."

Trump on Wednesday rolled out a broad new slate of tariffs ranging from 10% to 49% on imports from all countries, based on what the US president called the principle of reciprocity.

Comment: Action/reaction: China may be the first to retaliate but unlikely the last.

Putin launches largest military call-up since 2011 as Europe rattles sabers

If Europe's goal was to ruin Donald Trump's chances of brokering a practical diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict, they may have succeeded. France and Britain are both openly suggesting that they will deploy troops to the region to "help secure a peace deal" in the near term - There are very few other takers, largely because the move will undoubtedly trigger WWIII.

In fact, this is likely the intention.

With Russia making the largest territorial gains year-over-year since 2022 and Ukraine's troop strength dwindling, the end of the war looms. Either Kyiv will be forced to surrender or Trump will score a rudimentary peace agreement and a ceasefire. The best case scenario for Ukraine at present is a separation of the Donbas into Russia (one of the original reasons for the war), and a demilitarized zone with a solidified border. Ukraine has no chance of reclaiming these territories through strength of arms.

Comment: It should be noted that despite the headline, this is just normal conscription which takes place twice a year. Concripts are also not sent to the SMO in Ukraine but will in time have the training to be a useful reserve. The principle of conscription is used in many other countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Finland and Norway to mention a few, but their yearly call up don't make the headlines of Western media.

Vance reveals Musk's future White House role

The tech billionaire's work for the administration of US President Donald Trump is "not even close to done," the vice president has said.

US Vice President J.D. Vance has claimed that Elon Musk will remain a 'friend and adviser' to President Donald Trump and to himself, when his tenure as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is completed.

Musk's role as a special government employee is set to conclude by late May, after which the billionaire is expected to return to his private ventures. DOGE, created under Trump's executive order, will remain active until at least 2026.

Earlier this week, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO dismissed reports of his imminent departure from the agency, which is tasked with slashing federal spending, as "fake news." White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt called the media reports "garbage" and insisted that Musk will depart only once his work at DOGE is finished.

The drone footage depicts the bombing of a Houthi gathering, according to the US president

US President Donald Trump has shared footage of what he contends was a strike on Houthi personnel in Yemen.

The video, apparently filmed by a drone, shows dozens of people standing in an oval in rural terrain.

A munition falls from the sky, causing an explosion and leaving a large crater. Two vehicles and no bodies are visible in the aftermath.

If the figures and shadows are counted in the circle before the strike, there were about 75 people.

2) Some might, perhaps cynically, argue that the Israelis could not have done it much better. Incidentally, there was this article from the Jerusalem Post:
Netanyahu expected to visit White House on Monday to discuss tariffs with Trump
Aside from the tariff issue, Trump and Netanyahu are expected to discuss American efforts to begin negotiations with Iran on a new nuclear agreement.
By Walla! April 5, 2025 02:20 Updated: APRIL 5, 2025 09:44

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday and discuss the new tariffs imposed on Israel, the nuclear crisis with Iran, and the war in Gaza, four sources familiar with the matter told Walla.

If the visit does go ahead, Netanyahu will not return to Israel from Budapest, where he has been staying since Wednesday night. Instead, he will fly to Washington on Sunday.

Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to meet with Trump since the US president announced his tariff plan that rocked America and the global economy.

US spent $1 billion on Yemen offensive with limited results: Report
Saturday, 05 April 2025 9:51 AM [ Last Update: Saturday, 05 April 2025 9:51 AM ]

A recent report has revealed that the US military's nearly $1 billion offensive against the Yemeni armed forces has had limited success in impacting its capabilities.

The US broadcaster, CNN, cited three unnamed sources as saying that the onslaught, which was launched on March 15, has already used hundreds of millions of dollars worth of munitions for strikes against Yemen's armed forces, including JASSM long-range cruise missiles, JSOWs, which are GPS-guided glide bombs, and Tomahawk missiles.

US defense officials announced earlier this week that B-2 bombers out of Diego Garcia — a British-administered atoll — are also being used against the Yemeni military, and an additional aircraft carrier as well as several fighter squadrons and air defense systems will soon be moved into the Central Command region.

"They've taken out some sites, but that hasn't affected the Houthis' ability to continue shooting at ships in the Red Sea or shooting down US drones," said one of the sources, referring to Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement.

"Meanwhile, we are burning through readiness — munitions, fuel, deployment time."

Another source underlined that the Pentagon will likely need to request supplemental funding from Congress to continue its aggression, but may not receive it as the offensive has already been criticized on both sides of the aisle.

Even Vice President JD Vance said he thought the aggression was "a mistake" in a Signal chat published by The Atlantic last week.

Although Pentagon has not publicly disclosed what impact the daily US military strikes have actually had on the Yemeni resistance movement, they acknowledged that the group has still been able to fortify their bunkers and maintain weapons stockpiles underground, much as they did during the strikes that the Joe Biden administration carried out for over a year, the sources said.

And it has been difficult to determine precisely how much the Yemenis still have stockpiled, a defense official said.

In a speech on Friday, Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said the intensified US acts of aggression against Yemen had failed to stop Yemeni resistance operations in support of Palestinians plagued by Israel's months-long genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Houthi stressed that the US aggression on Yemen, which exceeded 90 attacks on some days, "has failed to stop the military operations supporting the Palestinian people, nor has it been able to protect Israeli navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea."

A few weeks after the onset of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemeni forces began carrying out solidarity operations with the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading toward ports in the occupied territories.

In support of Israel, the US announced the formation of a maritime task force in the Red Sea in December 2023 to protect the passage of vessels bound for the Israeli-occupied territories.

The Yemeni forces responded by ramping up their strikes against strategic and sensitive Israeli and American targets, including the US warships and aircraft carriers that are deployed off Yemen's coastline.

The Yemeni forces paused their retaliatory strikes in support of the ceasefire that took effect in Gaza on January 19 before Israel broke it last month.
5) The post may also be a sign of retaliation, considering:
Yemeni forces attack US aircraft carrier with cruise missiles and drones
Wednesday, 02 April 2025 1:42 AM [ Last Update: Wednesday, 02 April 2025 1:55 AM ]

The Yemeni Armed Forces say they have carried out a new operation against the United States, targeting an American aircraft carrier in the Red Sea for the third time in the past 24 hours.

The Yemeni Armed Forces said in a statement on Tuesday that in retaliation to the American aggression against Yemen, "the Naval Forces, Rocket Forces, and the Air Force of our Armed Forces have targeted hostile warships in the Red Sea, including the American aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, using several cruise missiles and drones."

"The engagement is ongoing at the time of this statement, marking the third such operation in the past 24 hours," it added.

"Our military operations against the American enemy will continue, targeting their warships in the declared operational zone with increasing intensity, God willing," the statement said.

The Armed Forces said that Yemen's operations against Israel will also continue by preventing navigation of the regime's vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas and targeting its military and vital facilities.

"Additionally, our military operations against the Israeli enemy, by preventing its navigation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea and targeting its military and strategic facilities, aim to halt the genocide against the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza — a crime being committed in full view of Arabs, Muslims, and the world," the statement said.

They stressed that anti-Israel operations will go on until the regime's genocide against the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza stops and the siege of the territory is lifted.

On Monday night, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the downing of a US MQ-9 drone over Ma'rib Governorate, the 16th drone downed by the country since October 7, 2023.

On Sunday night, the United States carried out more acts of aggression against Yemen to force the Arab country to stop its support for Palestinians in Gaza.

American warplanes conducted thirteen intense airstrikes on the Yemeni capital, Sana'a.

The Yemeni media reported eight attacks on Sana'a's Al-Malikah area and five strikes on the Sarf area.

The attacks followed earlier strikes that left one civilian dead and twelve wounded in two districts of Sana'a.

Most of the US attacks target civilian buildings in the Yemeni capital.

Yemenis have been hitting Israeli and American targets in support of Palestinians in Gaza since the regime launched its devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, and in response to the American-British aggression on their homeland.

The operations have effectively shut down the Eilat port south of the occupied territories, causing significant economic setbacks for the Israelis.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel's ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.

US is succeeding to weaken the Houthis

Initial American strikes have already eroded Houthi military capabilities by targeting weapons depots, missile platforms, drone launch sites, and command centers. Intensive airstrikes accompany a tight naval blockade aimed at preventing Iranian military supplies from reaching Yemen. In due time, this approach will deplete Houthi military resources.

Several additional factors boost success prospects for American operations. Firstly, the Houthi leadership structure suffers from inherent weaknesses. Its fossilized mentality and heavy dependence on the stimulant narcotic qat impairs sound strategic decision-making. Hence, the archaic Houthi mindset cannot handle modern technology independently nor confront advanced US military forces. As a result, the Houthis remain vulnerable to rapid collapse under relentless strikes.

Another crucial element involves the Houthis' near-total dependence on Iranian support for armament, training, and funding. This support is now facing direct threats following Trump's explicit warnings to Iran. The American president cautioned Tehran about "dire consequences" should Houthi attacks on shipping continue.
It is possible that the Israeli-American alliance underestimates their opponents, some might say, they already have, and it is certainly not a given that "dire consequences" will be limited to the Houthis or to Iran. In fact, a tariff war is likely to cost lives or livelihoods too. In a few years time, the 75 people that were obliterated in Yemen are likely to have been joined, one way or the other, by many more.

Report says NSA director and Cyber Command chief Timothy Haugh, deputy Wendy Noble fired in major shakeup at wiretapping agency

Timothy Haugh Wendy Noble NSA fired
National Security Agency, Air Force Gen. Timothy Haugh and Deputy Civilian Director Wendy Noble
The director of the National Security Agency, Air Force Gen. Timothy Haugh, reportedly was fired Thursday from his post as the head of the agency.

Haugh's removal as director of the NSA, the nation's primary cyber espionage and electronic eavesdropping agency, comes on the same day at least three White House National Security Council staffers reportedly also were shown the door.

The ousted NSA director's civilian deputy, Wendy Noble, was also let go Thursday, according to the Washington Post, citing current and former US officials.

Noble was reassigned to a role within the Pentagon's Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, according to the outlet.

The reason behind the NSA shakeup is unknown, the US officials told the outlet.

Comment: Lara Loomer's investigative reporting has been crucial in alerting the White House to the problematic connection of those let go from the NSA. She's doing the vetting work that the Trump admin staffers are failing to do:

Full text:

NSA Director Tim Haugh and his deputy Wendy Noble have been disloyal to President Trump. That is why they have been fired.

As a Biden appointee, General Haugh had no place serving in the Trump admin given the fact that he was HAND PICKED by General Milley, who was accused of committing treason by President Trump. Why would we want an NSA Director who was referred to Biden after being hand selected by Milley, who told China he would side with them over Trump!?!?

The vetters should have been more critical given the fact that the Pentagon revoked the security detail and clearance for retired general Mark Milley, who called President Trump a FASCIST.

Why would we want Milley's hand picked choice for NSA DIRECTOR?

We do not! And he was referred for firing.

Given the fact that the NSA is arguably the most powerful intel agency in the world, we cannot allow for a Biden nominee to hold that position.

Thus, Haugh was fired today, along with his Obama loving protege, Wendy Noble.

This is called VETTING.

His deputy, Wendy Noble is a protege of Trump hater James Clapper, who frankly, belongs in prison. President Trump has accused Clapper of spying on his campaign and Clapper falsely accused the Russians of stealing the election for Trump. James Clapper is a traitor to his country, as are all of his enablers and supporters.

Why would we want Clapper's protege at the NSA?

Of course Wendy Nobel was referred for firing. She is a Trump hater who was nominated by JOE BIDEN.

Additionally, Wendy Noble spent her time at the NSA promoting DEI.

Their firings are a blessing for the American people.

Thank you President Trump for being receptive to the vetting materials provided to you and thank you for firing these Biden holdovers.

Vetting matters!

Activist Judge John Roberts and never-Trumper lawyer Norm Eisen: The secret friendship

Justice Roberts' secret friendship with Norm Eisen has been revealed...

After you finish this blog, you'll be asking the million-dollar question: Why is Chief Justice John Roberts hanging out with the Deep State's #1 color revolution architect?

Turns out the left's favorite "Republican" has some very interesting buddies.

According to Norm Eisen — the man who practically wrote the Deep State's playbook on color revolutions, all things anti-Trump, and lawfare in the US — he and Chief Justice John Roberts are not only good pals, but they even spent a week together in the Czech Republic. According to Norm, the two BFFs were there working on "American rule of law" issues.

Hmm...

Comment: Norm Eisen is a shady weasel operating in the shadows of various equally shady NGOs.That Roberts is mixed up with him creates a toxic synergy. Roberts has a long history of throwing a spanner in the works of policies the American people voted overwhelmingly to have implemented. Forget Roberts stepping down. It's time for impeachment.

USAID and the architecture of perception

real vs fake
© unknownThe Touch Point between real and created
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has long portrayed itself as America's humanitarian aid organization, delivering assistance to developing nations. With an annual budget of nearly $40 billion and operations in over 100 countries, it represents one of the largest foreign aid institutions in the world. But recent disclosures reveal its true nature as something far more systematic: an architect of global consciousness.

Consider: Reuters, one of the world's most trusted news sources, received USAID funding for 'Large Scale Social Deception' and 'Social Engineering Defence.' While there's debate about the exact scope of these programs, the implications are staggering: a division of one of the world's most relied-upon sources for objective reporting was paid by a US government agency for systemic reality construction. This funding goes beyond traditional media support, representing a deliberate infrastructure for discourse framing that fundamentally challenges the concept of 'objective' reporting.

But it goes deeper. In what reads like a Michael Crichton plot come to life, the recent USAID revelations show a staggering reach of narrative control. Take Internews Network, a USAID-financed NGO that has pushed nearly half a billion dollars ($472.6m) through a secretive network, 'working with' 4,291 media outlets. In just one year, they produced 4,799 hours of broadcasts reaching up to 778 million people and 'trained' over 9,000 journalists. This isn't just funding - it's a systematic infrastructure of consciousness manipulation.

Trump's tariffs will turn EU economy into 'decaying corpse' - Medvedev

Medvedev
© Ekaterina Shtukina/SputnikDeputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev
Unlike Brussels, Moscow can bide its time amid the emerging trade war, the former Russian president has said.

The US imposition of "reciprocal" tariffs on EU exports has doomed the bloc's economy, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said.

This week, US President Donald Trump announced sweeping tariffs in an attempt to improve America's balance of trade, accusing the country's economic partners of exploiting access to its consumer market through protectionist policies and currency manipulation.

Medvedev, now deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, remarked on Thursday that while the move seriously disrupts global commerce, Russia will be largely unaffected, as its trade with the US is virtually nonexistent.

Comment: The responses from all targeted US trading partners:
China - branded one of the "worst offenders" by Trump - was hit with a new 34% tariff on its goods, in addition to an existing 20% levy, raising total duties to at least 54%.

Canada - already subject to US tariffs, was spared the additional 10% baseline tariffs applied to many other countries due to its membership in the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Last month, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian goods and 10% on energy products, citing concerns over drugs and migrants crossing the border. Tariffs on steel, aluminum, and automobiles were still coming into effect.

Mexico - also avoided Trump's global tariff. The US president had earlier slapped 25% tariffs on its southern neighbor, citing failures to address migration and fentanyl trafficking, but later carved out exemptions for USMCA-compliant goods.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the universal duties as a "major blow to the global economy. If you take on one of us, you take on all of us," she stated.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, a close ally of Trump, criticized the decision as "wrong" but expressed her commitment to negotiating a deal with the US to "prevent a trade war."

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck slammed the US "obsession" with tariffs, warning that it "could put a spiral in motion that can tear countries into recession."

French President Emmanuel Macron is set to convene representatives from all business sectors affected by the import tariffs as producers are already counting future losses. French government spokeswoman Sophie Primas told broadcaster RTL. Trump "thinks he is the master of the world" but the EU is "ready for this trade war" and has a "whole range of tools," she insisted.

Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheal Martin, who believes there is "no justification for this." Goods from Ireland will be hit with a 20% tariff as part of measures Trump has imposed on the EU.

Britain was hit less hard than most other countries with a 10% duty imposed on its exports. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said "nobody wins in a trade war" and vowed to "fight for the best deal for Britain, however, that the UK's "intention remains to secure a deal" with the US.

Japan has "serious concerns" about the consistency of Trump's tariffs with the WTO agreement and the Japan-US trade deal. Japanese Trade Minister Yoji Muto described the measures as "extremely regrettable" and stated that all options were under consideration.

Economic officials in Israel, a key US ally, were reportedly in "complete shock" over the 17% tariff imposed by Trump, according to local media. The country had eliminated all tariffs on American imports ahead of the announcement to ensure that Israel was exempt from new levies. "We are working to understand the motivation behind this move," Ron Tomer, president of the Manufacturers Association of Israel, commented.

Daniil Getmantsev, head of the Ukrainian Parliament's Finance Committee, said: "The new 10% tariff announced by Trump on Ukrainian imports is economic cynicism", unlikely to have a major negative impact, given the relatively small exports to the US. "But imposing such tariffs when our trade balance with the US shows a $2.6 billion deficit is, frankly, economic cynicism of the highest order."
Consider this turn of events a Trump-style global wake-up call (with benefits).
