Ezra Cohen, a former intelligence aide to President Donald Trump who left the White House amid controversy in 2017, is returning to the administration as a top official at the Defense Department.

Cohen, 34, has been named deputy assistant secretary for counter narcotics and global threats, according to three people with knowledge of the situation. The job doesn't require confirmation by the U.S. Senate.

A Pentagon spokeswoman, Navy Commander Candice Tresch, said in an email that Cohen is "filling that position as of today."

Cohen was senior director for intelligence in the early months of the administration under Trump's first national security adviser, Michael Flynn. He was pushed out of the White House after clashes with Trump's second national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, including over Afghanistan policy, according to two people familiar with the matter.

What do we mean when we say somebody has 'tested positive' for the Corona Virus? The answer would astound you. But getting this "answer" is like getting to a very rare mushroom that only grows above 200 feet on a Sequoia tree in the forbidden forest.

I say that for dramatic effect, but also because I wound up, against all odds, finding it.

Every day I wake up and work at shedding one more layer of ignorance โ€” by listening carefully. I got lucky with scientists many years ago; epic, incredible scientists, happening to cross my path when nobody else wanted to talk to them. Now their names are emerging, their warnings and corrections crystallizing. True "science" (the nature of the natural world) is never bad news. Globalist science is nothing but bad news.

The reason Bill Gates wants you to believe a Corona Virus will exterminate over 450 million people is that he hates nature, God, and you. (A subjective interpretation.) Why is that? You'd have to ask his psychiatrist.

But let's talk about the latest terror bomb detonated by Global Atheist PC Creeps upon your perfectly good, free life as a US citizen in 2020, governed by a President who does not think backwards. How many of us are "infected" with this novel Corona virus, and how scared should we be?

First, a spiritual law: Anything that tries to frighten you comes from "opposition," in spiritual battle. It's not the Holy Spirit, period. Ignore its threats and keep your wits about you. You don't have to shout, "Stay safe!' to your neighbors. We are safe. We have an immune system that is a miracle like The Sistine Chapel. It withstands toxic, microbial inundation on a grand scale at all times, while operating a super-highway of adaptive life-sustaining genetic information, on cellular bridges, emitting telegrams of vital evolutionary code, slandered as "viruses" or "retroviruses."

The Russian Foreign Ministry has demanded that two of the most prominent foreign newspapers, the New York Times and the Financial Times, retract their stories stating that Russia is concealing the real Covid-19 death toll.

Even if the NYT and FT were correct in their claims, Russia would still be doing far better than the vast majority of large industrialized nations, including the US and UK.

As of the morning of May 14, Russia's Covid-19 death toll stands at 2,212 out of 242,271 recorded cases, or 0.9 percent. This number is not disputed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which has continuously monitored the situation in the country. To compare, the death rate for the novel coronavirus is six percent in the US, seven percent in Canada, 14 percent in the UK, and 10 percent or more in Italy, Spain, France and Sweden. You know, the so-called civilized countries.

There is not a hint of evidence that the Russian government has covered up the coronavirus toll. Yet, foreign media are skeptical of Russia's numbers. Perhaps because in their worldview, Russia is not allowed to be anything but a grim and miserable failure at everything. Any fact contradicting this narrative is Kremlin propaganda.

Comment: Each country makes up its own standard(s) for evaluating Covid numbers and case reports. The more devastating the statistics, the higher the level of fear and 'fix-it' factor to control a population and achieve a desired response. Perhaps this is human nature...or something else. Is it just because they hate all things Russian? Or are they afraid Russia may blow their cover?
In an interview on May 13 with Current Time, Melita Vujnovic said the organization trusted the Russian official figures.

"One of the reasons for the low mortality rate is that everyone who needed hospital treatment could go there. There was no explosive increase in cases, and Russia bought time to strengthen its health-care system." She also noted that the rate of increase in new cases had decreased in recent days: as of May 14, it was around 4 percent, compared with nearly 14 percent a few weeks ago. "According to what we're seeing, this means that the measures to reduce the growth trend have worked."

On May 13, the city health department for Moscow, where the bulk of Russia's cases are concentrated, released a statement saying that more than 60 percent of Moscow's coronavirus deaths are not being included toward the city's official virus death toll.

"Further steps [by the Foreign Ministry] will depend on whether they publish a refutation," Maria Zakharova said on May 13, suggesting also the papers' reporters in Russia could have their ministry accreditations stripped.

A spokeswoman for The Times said that the newspaper stood by its reporting.

HRC resists court order to produce 'after action memorandum' that resulted in email deletion; JW files motion to compel

Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a motion in federal court to compel former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to produce the December 2014 after action memorandum created by her personal attorney Heather Samuelson that memorializes the search for and processing of Clinton emails in 2014. Samuelson reviewed Clinton's State Department emails and about half of them were deleted (Hillary Clinton is also resisting, through an emergency appeal, the court's order that she testify to Judicial Watch about her emails.)

The filing comes in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that seeks records concerning "talking points or updates on the Benghazi attack" (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)). Judicial Watch famously uncovered in 2014 that the "talking points," which provided the basis for false statements by then-National Security Advisor Susan Rice, were created by the Obama White House. This FOIA lawsuit led directly to the disclosure of the Clinton email system in 2015.

In December 2018, Judge Lamberth ordered discovery into:
- whether Clinton's use of a private email server was intended to stymie FOIA;
- whether the State Department's intent to settle this case in late 2014 and early 2015 amounted to bad faith;
- whether the State Department has adequately searched for records responsive to Judicial Watch's request, and
- whether the Benghazi controversy motivated the cover-up of Clinton's email.

The court ruled that the Clinton email system was "one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency."

China is extremely dissatisfied with the abuse of litigation by the US against China over the COVID-19 epidemic, and is considering punitive countermeasures against US individuals, entities and state officials, such as Missouri's attorney general Eric Schmitt, who filed a lawsuit against China, seeking compensation for the coronavirus pandemic, sources close to the matter told the Global Times exclusively. At least four US Congress members, including Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton, and two entities will be put on China's sanctions list, analysts said.

China won't just strike back symbolically, but will impose countermeasures that will make them feel the pain, analysts said.

Some US lawmakers and state governors as well as attorneys who are also GOP hawks have filed lawsuits against China, alleging that the Chinese government mishandled the epidemic and it caused severe economic consequences in the US.

At least six lawsuits have been filed against China in US federal courts, while some lawmakers have also introduced bills to make it easier to sue China despite legal hurdles and no realistic possibility for US states to achieve their goal.

US President Donald Trump has pushed for reopening schools, against the advice of his chief epidemiologist. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has warned that the coronavirus may become endemic and never really disappear.

After meeting with governors of Colorado and North Dakota in the White House on Wednesday, Trump said he won't consider any state fully open until the schools are back up and running.
"I think you should absolutely open the schools. Our country has got to get back and it's got to get back as soon as possible, and I don't consider our country coming back if the schools are closed."
On Tuesday, however, his chief epidemiologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, argued before the Senate that opening the schools this fall might be premature, saying that children might be affected by the virus after all.

When asked about Fauci's testimony, Trump said:
"He wants to play all sides of the equation. I was surprised by his answer, actually, because, you know, it's just to me it's not an acceptable answer, especially when it comes to schools."
Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) - a physician who recovered from the virus himself - also clashed with the head of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the hearing, criticizing Fauci for offering advice based on models that ended up being wrong.

Comment: Is Fauci doubling down on a bad bet? Worse yet - a non-existent one? It seems to be a chronic case of Agenda Virus versus rationality and common sense.

US President Donald Trump was elected on a promise to "drain the swamp." Almost four years later, the Washington think-tank racket is as murky as ever, and the gravy train keeps rolling.

The false 'Trump/Russia collusion' narrative has been dead for so long now that it's hard to remember what killed it, whether it was the Mueller Report or simply death by a thousand cuts.

Here is what we know: 'Russiagate' was a giant scam, and many of those who promoted it knowingly lied for a considerable length of time. Their aim was either to undermine Trump's presidency or prevent any improvement in US relations with Russia.

Most of the journalists who facilitated the hoax also knew it was nonsense. But their loathing of Trump - and in some cases Russia, too - trumped ethical considerations. Thus, much of the general public was, for years, fed a diet of grifters and washed-up old spooks pushing a scam.

Comment: Trump is fighting to clear his government of swamp creatures, but he has less control over congressional funding grants, and no control over the composition of think-tank personnel. He has been running the US on what amounts to a skeleton crew, as Congress has repeatedly held up approving his appointments.

These are the strangest of times. On this almost everyone will agree.

Lives all over the planet are being torn apart either by the COVID-19 pandemic or as a result of its devastating social and economic dislocations. In such a moment, it is hardly surprising that the best and worst of humanity is being showcased.

Yet what seems worse beyond even these forebodings is the persistence of gangster geopolitics in its various manifestations.

Intensifying United States sanctions in the midst of the health crisis on already deeply afflicted countries such as Iran and Venezuela is one striking example. This display of the primacy of geopolitics is highlighted by its rejections of numerous high-profile humanitarian appeals for the suspension of sanctions, at least for the duration of the pandemic. Instead of suspension and empathy, we find a tone-deaf Washington almost gleefully upping its "maximum pressure" policy, perversely grabbing the opportunity to rachet up the pain level.

On January 9, 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) alerted authorities worldwide of a potential novel coronavirus outbreak. Three weeks of investigations and conferences later (January 30) WHO declared a global public health emergency. Regions which subsequently posted extraordinarily high Covid-19 (C-19) fatalities did not encounter notable domestic C-19 cases until mid-February. Their governments, therefore, had weeks to plan pandemic responses. Such plans required death certification protocols.

The 10-city Boston-Newark Megalopolis spans 30,000 square kilometres along America's northeast coast and hosts 36 million people. Ninety percent of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island citizens reside in this Megalopolis. The area's transportation and energy infrastructures are well-integrated, as is its commercial realm. Politically, it's effectively a one-party state.

Rhode Island's Democratic Party has ruled for a half century. Currently, all statewide executive officers are Democrats including Governor Gina Raimondo. The Party holds super-majorities in the Senate (33/38) and House (66/75).

New York's Democratic Party holds all statewide executive offices including the Governorship (Andrew Cuomo). They occupy 40 of 63 Senate seats and 106 of 150 Assembly seats. They have maintained an Assembly majority since 1974.

The United States publicly threatened on Wednesday to trigger a return of all United Nations sanctions on Iran if the U.N. Security Council does not extend an arms embargo on Tehran that is due to expire in October under the Iran nuclear deal.

U.S. special envoy for Iran, Brian Hook, confirmed the strategy two weeks after a U.S. official, speaking on condition anonymity, said the United States had told Britain, France and Germany of its plan.

Hook wrote in the Wall Street Journal that "one way or another" Washington would ensure the arms embargo remains. He said the United States has drafted a Security Council resolution and "will press ahead with diplomacy and build support."
