Visa row blows open US envoy pens scathing letter to interior minister, accusing Israel of blocking Christian groups from entering Israel and warning of reciprocal steps against Israeli visa seekers

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has threatened to publicly declare that Israel no longer welcomes Christian groups to Israel over what he said was Jerusalem's failure to approve tourist visas for evangelical missions.

The threat was issued in a letter that Huckabee sent on Wednesday to Interior Minister Moshe Arbel, which was leaked to Hebrew media on Thursday. Arbel pushed back on the allegations in a response letter that was obtained by The Times of Israel.

Huckabee in his letter threatened to order his embassy to take reciprocal measures against Israeli tourists seeking visas to enter the US.

Comment:

Tens of thousands of Palestinian children dead, but if the flock's not welcome then Huckabee's on the case. The hypocrisy is thick.

BTW, this is how Christians are treated in the Holy Land when they aren't shepherded carefully selected tourist groups:

World War mastermind: Here's America's most dangerous person

LindsayG

Lindsey Graham's insatiable bloodlust helps propel the world to move beyond a US-centric world order.

Lindsey Graham is at it again: The long-serving - if increasingly embattled - senator from South Carolina has produced an especially aggressive as well as hysterical statement. This time, he has, in essence, threatened Russia with US bombing in a little less than two months from now.

If you know Graham's record, then that may appear insane but also sort of unremarkable, because that's just choleric, red-faced Lindsey having a normal rant. Yet there are reasons not to dismiss this particular tantrum too quickly. Even though Graham is probably too busy foaming at the mouth to notice, his latest hissy fit is unintentionally revealing.

For one thing, there's a whiff of panic about this outburst. And Graham does have reasons to feel less than comfortable. For starters, as noted above, his seat in the Senate is anything but secure, with Graham facing what The Independent has called a "daunting challenge" coming up next year. Then, Graham will have to defend his seat - which he has held since 2003 - in midterms that could go badly for him.

Comment: Mr Graham, the exit is Stage Left.

"The Network" in the Worlds of the Elites

Epstein

Is there something about liberal elite networks, you should understand?

Half the country is up in arms about President Donald Trump's inexplicable decision to mock his base, because many are appalled that Attorney General Pam Bondi seems to be orchestrating a coverup of a serial rapist of children. Bondi's Justice Department released a memo last week: "The two-page document said the department found no evidence of an Epstein client list and that no additional files from the investigation would be made public."

President Trump's response to all this has been startling: He stated that "[O]nly really bad people [...] want to keep something like this going." According to NBC, he also called MAGA supporters of his who are upset at AG Bondi, "weaklings" who "bought into this bull — -t" — .

President Trump's supporters, including Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and even Alex Jones, are furious, and calling for full release of the 'Epstein files'. Polls show harm to his support: numbers that could threaten Republicans in the midterms.

Democrats are racing to capitalize on the fissures opening among Republicans, as Politico reports. President Trump's appeal to his base is that he is "one of us", and that he promises transparency. A situation that casts him as a rich guy with muddy motivations protecting another late rich guy's friends — the dead man, the worst of the worst — could lose him the base, and cause MAHA voters - millions of them moms and dads of girls like the ones that Epstein abused — to flee.

Conservatives are baffled. My husband, a truly objective man (as well as an ardent President Trump supporter who also worked for numerous intelligence agencies for almost three decades), is puzzled, to the point of wondering if the President is acting uncharacteristically in response to some serious unnamed threat (or threats), perceived or actual.

Because I spent decades in the same elite liberal circles that sheltered Epstein, I am not puzzled. I think I understand the matrix of this situation. It has, in my view, to do with "the network."

Comment: Worth the read. Wolf's personal experience is a genuine value in understanding the Epstein era.

Obama admin assessed Russia played no role in 2016 election result, declassified docs show

The Obama administration knew before and after the 2016 election that Russia did not affect its outcome through cyberattacks, according to a bombshell document released by the Trump administration Friday.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released more than 100 pages of emails, memos and other records cataloguing what she called Obama officials' "conspiracy to subvert President Trump's 2016 victory."

DNI Tulsi Gabbard said the documents were part of an effort to subvert Trump's 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton.Getty Images

Among the documents was a Sept. 12, 2016, Intelligence Community Assessment that determined "foreign adversaries do not have and will probably not obtain the capabilities to successfully execute widespread and undetected cyber attacks" on election infrastructure.

THIRD witness pleads Fifth in House Oversight investigation of covering up Biden's mental decline

Annie Tomasini, former assistant to President Joe Biden, pleaded the Fifth during a closed-door deposition regarding Biden's mental decline, House Oversight Chair James Comer said Friday.

Tomasini, who also served as former assistant to the president and deputy director of Oval Office operations, is the third Biden aide to take Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination in the committee's probe.

"There is now a pattern of key Biden confidants seeking to shield themselves from criminal liability for this potential conspiracy," Comer stated in a post to X.

"Annie Tomasini ... pleaded the Fifth when asked if Joe Biden, a member of his family, or anyone at the White House instructed her to lie regarding his health at any time," Comer continued.

Meet Erez Reuvini, the DOJ's fake "whistleblower" trying to sink Emil Boves judicial appointment

Erez Reuvini
© Department of JusticeFired DOJ lawyer Erez Reuveni unveiled his whistleblower account a day before Emil Bove is set to testify before the Senate.
Erez Reuvini's account of what allegedly happened at the DOJ in major immigration cases reveals not a whistleblower but another activist with an ax to grind against the administration.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to approve on Thursday the nomination of Emil Bove, a top Department of Justice official, to a judgeship on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Bove's nomination then will head to the full Senate for confirmation.

While the president's nomination of Bove, his one-time criminal defense attorney and current principal associate deputy attorney general, at first appeared to be a sure thing, Democrats had other plans. Senator Adam Schiff, as he is prone to do, launched the bad faith operation against Bove last month by rehashing Bove's move to drop the politically motivated case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams in February. Schiff further claimed the president would "catapult Emil Bove to the Supreme Court" in the near future. (If only!)

Secret White House meeting opens document floodgates on Trump/Russia hoax

The floodgates holding back long-buried classified documents exposing government efforts to claim Donald Trump conspired with Vladimir Putin to manipulate the 2016 U.S. presidential election might finally be opening.

Trump administration officials held an urgent meeting Sunday to discuss "new information on Russiagate," which they might use to build a criminal conspiracy case against Obama and Biden administration political appointees who allegedly weaponized the government against Trump, two Trump administration officials told RealClearInvestigations.

The documents are said to contain long-classified information, including a secret 200-page congressional audit that reveals details about how an intelligence community assessment on Russia ordered by President Obama after the 2016 election was framed in a way that portrayed Trump as being beholden to the Kremlin.

Comment: The floodgates have indeed opened and investigative journalists everywhere are having a field day:

Newly declassified records from @DNIGabbard are additional, compelling evidence that the 2016 Russia Collusion narrative was not rooted in credible intelligence reporting, but manufactured to fit a preferred political narrative.

Gabbard has taken the rare and transparent step of declassifying a December 2016 draft of the President's Daily Brief or PDB.

This highly classified record, which is a daily national security analysis for the President, assessed that "Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against (election) infrastructure."

But after push back from the FBI, then led by James Comey, the PDB was spiked "based on new guidance."

After a White House Principals meeting, a new intelligence assessment was commissioned, and media leaks followed, reinforcing a new narrative that "Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system."

Germany's death spiral

Germany in decay
© unknownThe death of Germany
A meditation on managed decline by bureaucratic means.

Woe to the vanquished, for their children will speak in the tongue of their gaolers and build temples to their own erasure.

Censorship, collapse, and the quiet death of a once leading nation:

The internet was supposed to set speech free, but in Germany it only made censorship more systematic. Section 130 of the Criminal Code — the primary "hate speech" provision — now sweeps up not only Holocaust denial and Nazi symbols but also broad categories of "inflammatory speech," with immigration, identity, and memory politics often in the crosshairs. The numbers are Kafkaesque: tens of thousands of posts flagged under the Network Enforcement Act, and thousands of cases annually filed for Volksverhetzung (incitement of the people), a term that, while grounded in law, grows elastic in practice. German authorities urge platforms to suppress what they call "harmful disinformation," especially in election cycles.

The irony? The same state that funds "artistic freedom" through public institutions — such as the 2025 Berlin Biennale's exhibition on "decolonial resistance art," including works addressing Israeli-Palestinian narratives — prosecutes nationalist content creators, who might receive prison sentences for "inciting hatred and distributing symbols of unconstitutional organizations," a punishment more befitting a heretic than a citizen. The Constitutional Court salutes Article 5 of the Basic Law ("freedom of expression"), but the living law is unwritten: speak as you like, so long as it sings the chorus of consensus.

Comment: How hard the turn-around...how deep the groove. Excellent article.

Trump sprang Ukraine surprise on NATO states - Reuters

Several bloc members reportedly only learned they were supposed to fund American weapons for Kiev when it was announced by the US president.

Several NATO member states were not notified in advance that they would be asked to fund new arms deliveries to Ukraine under US President Donald Trump's latest proposal, Reuters has reported, citing European officials.

On Monday, Trump pledged to provide more US-made weapons to Kiev through a new scheme funded by European NATO members. "We're not buying it," Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with the bloc's secretary-general, Mark Rutte. "We will manufacture it, and they're going to be paying for it."

Trump noted that the plan is seen by Washington as a business opportunity.

Rutte said six countries - Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, and Canada - were willing to take part in the arms procurement scheme. However, high-ranking sources at the embassies of two of those countries told Reuters they only learned of their supposed participation when the announcement was made.

Comment: To end the war, Do Nothing: No equipment, no financial aid, no advisors. How simple is that? NATO wants war. It would rather lose what it pays for and pay for what it loses.

The Epstein Enigma

"It would make [Epstein] a story with which we have to be persistent and steady in our demands; but also cautious, and methodical, and discerning."
— Naomi Wolf
Do you detect the signs of Rope-a-Dope in Mr. Trump's recent blasts against the Epstein mess? It must be obvious that anything he says will be violently opposed by his Democratic Party enemies. So, now he's got them slavering for release of the Epstein files, whatever they are, or rather, whatever's left after former FBI Director Christopher Wray & Co. curated them, shall we say. (They had many years to get it done.)

I'm not the first to point out that the president's most rabid enemies ignored the Epstein case during the entirety of "Joe Biden's" four-year ectoplasmic visitation in the White House. (They were up to their eyeballs siccing Fani Willis, Letitia James, and Alvin Bragg on Trump.) "Squad" stalwart Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) said the other day that she was "too busy" to delve into Epstein. Everybody else from Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to Jamie Raskin (D-MD) just barfed up word salad on MSNBC to excuse themselves for overlooking the matter. But since Mr. Trump affected to quash the whole psychodrama in the harshest tones, they've got all the time in the world to pore over Epstein docs. Well, maybe they'll get what they asked for.
