Putin laments 'stupidity' during mobilization drive

The ongoing partial mobilization has seen its fair share of "stupidity" in terms of implementation, Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged. However, the authorities would never have learned of these issues had the call-up drive not been launched in late September, the president noted.

Speaking during a meeting with the governors of the Russian regions on Monday, Putin said: "Unfortunately, here, we have no shortage of stupidity." He added, however, that had Moscow not declared the partial mobilization, "we would never have seen those problems that have accumulated there apparently for quite a while." Putin concluded that the current situation presents a good opportunity to rectify those issues.

The partial mobilization was declared on September 21. Since then, there have been numerous reports of people without the relevant combat experience or skills being mobilized in various regions. In some cases, even people with medical conditions that prevent them from military service unless war is declared have ended up being drafted. All of this runs counter to the criteria laid out by Putin.

The Pentagon's latest terrorist victim: Germany

Duitse Vlag

Selecting the Pentagon to run your war after the $2.3 trillion twenty-year debacle in Afghanistan is like Zelensky picking Hunter Biden as his new drug czar because of his vast experience. Frankly if I was going to run a war I wouldn't pick any of those blithering idiots from the Pentagon. Those at the top hold their positions because of their color, their sexual preference or what is or isn't between their legs. They get medals for attendance, not victory in battle.

Americans fight wars to fight wars. Russians fight wars to win peace.

Seriously do you want your team led by a senile old man wearing diapers who talks to dead people and thinks a crack head is the smartest person he knows? Alternatively his backup screwed her way into political power and her backup is a barely functioning drunk.

Overnight on September 26th the United States flew a P-8 aircraft nonstop from the US overhead the NS I and NS II pipelines. Most probably they dropped multiple aerial torpedoes from about 10,000 feet to attack the four different pipes making up the two pipelines.

The pipelines had been prepared for the attack probably by aircraft flying off the USS Kearsarge. Since it appears the USS Kearsarge and her aircraft left the area before the torpedo attack, I would suspect the MH-60s would have attached some sort of underwater transponders on the pipelines.

How do I know the US did the attack?

Well, other than the fact that Europe is highly controlled airspace, you don't just fly in and around with no one knowing what you are doing. The Swedes would know who did the attack. The Danes would know who did the attack. At least the Danes are honest enough to call it an act of terrorism. The fact that the Swedes and the Danes are silent about who did the deed tells you just who did it.

Best of the Web: Terror on the Crimea Bridge forces Russia to unleash Shock 'n' Awe

The western narrative of a 'losing Russia' has just been decimated by Moscow's blitzkrieg against Ukraine and its foreign-backed terror operations

The terror attack on Krymskiy Most - the Crimea Bridge - was the proverbial straw that broke the Eurasian camel's back.

Russian President Vladimir Putin neatly summarized it:
"This is a terrorist attack aimed at destroying the critical civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation."
The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, confirmed face-to-face with Putin that Terror on the Bridge was carried out by the SBU - Ukrainian special services.

Ukraine's 'Nazi regime' must be dismantled - Russia's ex-president

Medvedev

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday called for a "complete dismantling" of Ukraine's "political regime."

Writing on Telegram, Medvedev, who now serves as deputy head of the Security Council, shared his "personal opinion," claiming:
"the current Nazi political regime in Kiev represents a constant, direct and clear threat to Russia. Therefore, in addition to protecting our people and protecting the borders of the country, our future actions, in my opinion, should be aimed at a complete dismantling of the political regime of Ukraine."
Commenting on the numerous missile strikes carried out across Ukraine on Monday morning, the former Russian leader said that that was a "first episode" and that "there will be others."

Ukraine is preparing a law on full control over the media, as the last vestiges of press freedom disappear in Kiev

A bill approved by the Verkhovna Rada will finally finish off freedom of speech in Ukraine

While fierce battles continue to rage between the Ukrainian and Russian armies in Donbass, Kherson Region, and Zaporozhye, the Kiev regime is busy eradicating the last vestiges of freedom of speech in the country.

On August 30, Ukraine's rubber-stamp parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, passed a bill on the media at the first reading. Despite the numerous changes that the 300-page document has undergone since President Vladimir Zelensky's team developed and submitted it a few years ago, its essence remains unchanged. If it becomes law, the authorities' power over virtually all outlets will be essentially limitless.

The main danger this bill presents is that it grants government agencies the authority to block internet resources without any court proceedings, and revoke licenses from broadcast and print media solely on the basis of complaints. This huge power would be vested in the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting.

Comment: Author details the horrific plight of and atrocities Ukraine perpetrated on domestic and foreign reporters and news providers over the course of a decade - the scope and severity unimaginable - a regime in which the West is literally invested.

The West's sanctions on Russia have boomeranged

When President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in February, he began two very different wars. One was a military conflict in which the Russian armed forces have suffered repeated defeats, from the failure of the initial invasion to the successes of the Ukrainian counter-offensive.

But the Ukrainian conflict also saw the start of an economic war waged against Russia by the West whose outcome is far more uncertain. The US, UK, EU and their allies have sought to impose a tight economic siege on Russia, focusing primarily on its oil and gas exports, to weaken it and compel it to give up its assault on Ukraine.

This second war, in contrast to the situation on the battlefield, has not been going well and the West suffered a serious setback this week when the Opec+ group, which includes Russia, decided to cut its crude exports by two million barrels a day in order to force up prices. The decision came despite intense lobbying of Saudi Arabia by the US where President Joe Biden is desperate to prevent the price Americans pay for petrol at the pump going up just before the midterm congressional elections in November. Reacting furiously to the news, the White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said that it was "clear" that Opec+ was "aligning with Russia".

Liz Truss approval ratings reach new lows after Tory conference

truss

Liz Truss's personal ratings are now even worse than those recorded for Boris Johnson at the height of the Partygate scandal, according to another Observer poll which will cause alarm among Tory MPs.

Truss's personal approval rating of -47 is now the worst ever recorded for a prime minister in an Opinium poll for the Observer. It is a worse rating than that recorded for Johnson during Partygate and Theresa May in the weeks before her resignation.

It suggests that the perception of the prime minister among voters has worsened despite the Tory party conference, when leaders and parties traditionally see a bump in support as they are given the chance to present their political vision.

Her net approval rating has fallen by 10 points since last week as a result of a significant rise in the number of voters who say they "disapprove" of the job she is doing. The figure was up nine points to 64%. Only 16% approve of the job she is doing. She has an overall approval rating of -47 after rounding is taken into account.

Comment: In line with leadership across the West, Truss is a disaster rapidly unfolding, her deficits defining her term.

German politician smacks foul-mouthed Ukrainian ambassador with truth

Ukraine's notorious outgoing ambassador to Berlin, Andrey Melnik, has attacked yet another German politician on social media, this time for questioning why his son is staying in Germany instead of fighting on the frontline. The diplomat is known for obscenity-laden tweets directed at public figures in Germany and abroad.

The exchange happened on Twitter when Sven Tritschler, a regional legislator from the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, poked fun at Melnik, who, together with his wife Svetlana, told the German media that they are considering having their children stay in Germany for safety reasons. The Melniks said their 20-year-old son is a student in the country.

"I wonder a bit how Mr. Melnik wants to drag half of the world into this war, while his 20-year-old son is comfortably studying in Germany instead of fighting. The Americans call such a thing 'chickenhawk,' Tritschler, a lawmaker from the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, wrote on Sunday.

Admitting the biological truth: Biden admin requires transgenders to register for draft if they were born male

"US citizens or immigrants who are born male and changed their gender to female are still required to register. Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register."

The Biden administration's requirements for who must register for Selective Service in the event that there is a draft includes those persons that identify as trangender but are born male. "Almost all male US citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service," and that includes males who identify as transgender.

"US citizens or immigrants who are born male and changed their gender to female are still required to register. Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register," reads the guidance on requirements from the Selective Service System.

In wake of Russian missile attacks, Germany says it will 'quickly' deliver air defense system to Ukraine

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht
Germany says it will deliver the first of four IRIS-T SLM air defense systems to Ukraine "in the next few days," after Russian rockets pounded several cities across Ukraine, killing several civilians.

"The renewed rocket fire on Kyiv and the many other cities makes it clear how important it is to deliver air defense systems to Ukraine quickly," German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said in a statement on October 10, just hours after the attacks.

"Russia's missile and drone attacks primarily terrorize the civilian population. That is why we are now supporting them with anti-aircraft weapons in particular," she added.
