But it makes no difference to me.
I go with the flow. Timing is sweet. Lol
I noticed that my two sons suffered greatly with DST. They were being forced to get up in the morning an hour before their biological clock was ready. Teens grow when sleeping and they got shortchanged. First period high school teachers all lamented that the kids were all still asleep during their first class. Arizona does not do DST and it is a wonderful blessing!
But as for this topic, yeah DST is useless. I agree with the idea of staying with DST indefinitely.
Hugh Mann But wouldn't something that makes perfect sense be perfectly non-sensible/insensible in this illogical society which our PTB's have long crafted nay, sh*tted out upon our societies and we mere useless breathers etc. (As they see it.)*
Little do those who so proudly think of themselves as part of the PTB (e.g., Bilderbergers, Bush*ts, and HRClintonistas, et al ) realize that they are merely - and, at most, - temporarily - simply bigger tadpoles (not frogs) in a tiny pond;
Nay! Larger amoebae in God's teardrop.By our awareness of those simple truths, God's tear is one of pride for those good souls amongst us, and of pity... all the way through wrath / anger at those STS amoebae pond/teardrop scum who have ignored so very, very many messages/truths that they are likely aware of but which they’ve traded along with what worthless integrity they might have ever had for whatever rupees their souls were once possibly worth.

The origin story that I have heard about DST is that it was created so that people getting off of work at five would have extra daylight to go play golf.
we had gathered around the house around 30 (!!!) watches (wrist watches, watches on appliances e. t. c.) and I had to change the time on all of them twice a year. A friend and co-worker said that I reminded him of Louis 14th or 15th or 16th who was obsessed with time accuracy and had a large number of watches in the Versailles. I'm not, it just so happened that too many watches had been gathered and I had to readjust a lot of them, especially after a power failure.
When I was a kid I couldn't understand why we changed the time but I did it anyway. Later on I read a story that it was the idea of two Englishmen
who thought that it was a way to save on the electricity bill. Yes, maybe it was when all the power consumption in the average household was that of 5 bulbs ! Today the average power consumption on households is a 100 times that amount, it has skyrocketed! Despite that we have kept that idiotic habit.
The second, often not thought of subject, is that time is relative. It's a product of motion in space and therefore different everywhere. So whose time ? To make matters worse when in the northern hemisphere we are freezing to death it's summertime in the southern hemisphere and vice versa. Not that only but every particular place has it's own micro--climate. So yes, another moronic habit is these stupid calendars we use that in my opinion should be readjusted according to climate/weather conditions...But whose climate and weather conditions ? Go figure...With our senses, experience and knowledge we can tell day from night, heat from cold and all the rest. Accuracy and economy are different matters. So I dug a bit deeper. The reason we really need time synchronization came from where else ? Military ops. There
and there only it makes sense.
I'm a bit old school due to age mostly and I believe that the only jewel a man should wear is a good wristwatch. Over the years
I have changed many but eventually I became an accuracy freak and I found out that all my watches were either fast or slow. We 're talking about expensive watches. So the other day I visited the local mall and discussed about what I wanted with the shop owner who sold watches from 200$ to 2000$. Eventually I said I'm not interested in any of the watches he had , I wanted an accurate MOBILE one. He suggested one that CASIO had manufactured, a casual looking watch, which is the style I prefer and was synchronizing time receiving signals from 6 (!!!) different satellites. One in the U.S., the second in the U.K. , the third in Russia, the fourth in China and 2 more in Japan. Perfect ! And it looked good too. But it was only available on-line. Price : Between 800$-900$. Yeah, right, maybe next Christmas . F**K Time. It's just a concept in our heads. It has certain applications in physics, but otherwise it's a continuity, we break it down because it is convenient for us making the classic mistake of trying to adjust nature to ourselves instead of the other way round.

I think I once read or heard that it was originally proposed to swing the opposite way - spring back, fall forward. Anyone ever heard of that?

P.s., Living in Fl. I say just leave it at D.S.T. all year long. (Small bright side, we'd never have to give that one hour back and would all live an extra one; at least those of us who might fall in standard time. (I'm curious what folks up North would say as they are the ones this was supposedly created for.)
Perhaps it was a sinister plot by the makers of wall clocks. How many here have lost one due to problems relating thereto? (When I had employees, it was - despite my best efforts - something that would happen once every two years, at the longest.)
